Decent mix of ingredients which fits our taste bud .

Went to this place yesterday.! It was one of the restaurants that were open inspite of the protests going on. The place was decent and the ambience was also good. Mild music ๐ถ There was an offer going on for the customers who are paying through cash was a gud one. Starting with the starters. The leg piece and the chicken in green chicken was not that much gud. Soup was good ๐ panner was fav.

Prawns were crispy n nice.
Guys one kind advice. Please serve hot. Most of the food were not hot and that's not a good sign.

I went here with my wife on her b'day. The ambiance is good. I went by 8PM and what I found out that we were the first one that day. The starters were very good and nice. But the main course and desert was the set back. The rice, panner and some other item were cold. For deserts the choices were very limited. They provided a complimentary cake on the occasion of my wife's bday. She loved it. The staffs were very polite but what I felt they were not so experienced. I can give one more try but next time will try on weekends rather than on weekdays.

The review has been long pending and I'm having this penned down now only after a disappointing vista to absolute barbeque this week.
Have been to this place a couple of times now and both the times the experience has been pretty good . Not been a user to review places here, but thought this place needs more mention of it , considering how crowded the other place was with a lesser tasty food.
Coming back to the place, the interiors are nicely done, bling bling and the place is well lit unlike most of the other places. Was provided with a healthy range of starters both veg and non veg , the two things that were standouts were the masala tangdi and the finger chips with that sauce. Both deserve 5 star ! The other started were good too , the prawns could have been a little better though. Having ate so much already. I had to limit myself with regards to the main course. The briyani I had the first time was amazing. And was the reason it made me come back. Though the second visit did not have the same briyani. Also a special mention has to be done to the butter nan , it was great, layered and the right texture. Made me eat more than my normal standard.
Overall a nice attempt by the team to provide with good quality buffet at a reasonable price.
Would I visit the place again? Yes. I would.

Everything is was too good expect the hariyali chicken, Shld also mention abt there leg piece chicken which was too good and semi gravy type which we won't find in another grills &BBQ.fish and chicken wings were also good.
3.main course
Seriously we hav no space for main course but we some how tasted few ๐my favourite was outstanding crab curry which was so fresh and taste was authentic chettinad. biryani was normal but all curry's both veg and nonveg were good.
4.Desserts
Der was shahi tukuda,gulab jamun, carrot halwa, black forest cake,brownie, custard,fresh cut fruits.....and here comes the ultimate customised falodaa...with so much of nuts ๐๐.
I would really appreciate the manager Mr.Prabhu who was politely answering all our queries and even the stewards who were bring every thing we asked... So many times ๐๐....

First let me finish the good parts . The chicken starters , fish starters in non veg , and French fries, cheese balls in veg starters were good. The desserts were fine. The crispy corn was not at all hot and it wasn't good. They didn't have any paneer starter, they served a gravy and said this was the one. They served only one leg piece , which was a disappointment. The service was not good although the ambience was good. Main dishes were not good. Overall - okayish if you are a non vegetarian. Otherwise go to some other place.

First of all, this restaurant is difficult to find if you are frm out of chennai. Parking is up to a maximum of 4 cars, others should leave it somewhere in the road.nxt prblm will be finding a parking spot in that small road. We were not given a choice to select the welcome drink, we were 4 people all 4 people got different flavours, out of that only one was good. So it would be better to ask the flavour.starters were good. Grills were perfect, not too spicy and not too sweet. Special mention about that JUICY CHICKEN LEG (must try dish). Main dishes were okay. Desserts like 8 of them, pastries , icecreams, gulab jamun, carrot halwa, some pasam... They have this falooda thing, the worst combination of icecream. They have like 6 flavours of icecream. Service was not too fast and not too slow. They will be giving complimentary aquafina water. Ambience was gr8. They have a collection of sunmusic mash music data. They will be playing that.

This is a long overdue. Visited dis place like 3 weeks before. It's located in quite an unusual place for a restaurant on a crooked street of triplicane. Our cab driver was asking us whether it's d actual place or v lost yet v insisted him wit route by use of G-maps n reached d place.
I think d owner of dis place is promoting d place avidly. No wonder u might ve heard abt dis place n they were shooting a cookery show.
After v went in it was a total mess up. The managers said there's no reservation for us even though v had called d place n confirmed. The worst thing to happen was tat d managers went on wit their jobs which was a total snub which made us quarrel wit 'em n owner asked to accommodate us promptly noticing it. N they said some silly reason like v won't accept coupons if restaurant is full again v quarreled. It made them accept again. V dono wts wit dis place. If u ve any probs i would suggest to shout to get d job done ๐
Coming to d food we were served like 6 in nv and 6 in veg. Grilled chicken dunked in sauce was gud n most of d chicken dishes were raw ๐ฃ fish n prawns were okayish. On veg front pineapple paneer fries can be given a go.
Most of d dishes in main course were passable n fish in szechewan sauce was gud.
I was eager to 'make ur falooda' which they said can't be done for d day. Had to settle for ice cream wit toppings in it ๐ฅ.

I was rather skeptical about this restaurant primarily because of its location: Triplicane, an area completely out of my radar. When invited to the new kid in the barbeque block, I had minimal expectations. To my surprise, there's more to this restaurant than what meets the eye (or the predefined outlook towards Triplicane).
The first look: A neat and spacious place. Well-lit and furnished well. It came across as a very 'family get together' kind of a place. Met the owner who was courteous and friendly. He personally took us through the entire meal, elaborating on the spread.
Food: 'Stomach, why you be so small?' This was my mind voice throughout the meal. There were so many options and quite a few of them tasted absolutely delicious. I can't really name everything but here's a list of some that are worth mentioning:
Starters:
- Tandoori Chicken: Where were you all this while? While other restaurants serve it dry, grillophillic went up a notch and added some moisture to it with some thick gravy. Result: Genius.
-Cambodian Prawns and Prawns Satay: The prawns could have been softer but then full points to the seasoning.
- Kebabs: Not much experimenting here. Good flavours.
- Fried Pomfret: As much as I love Pomfret, it was a tad bit burnt thus giving a slightly bitter after taste. But the fish was cooked perfectly.
Some other starters options: Paneer Punjabi, Zafrani Paneer, Corn Kernels, Fries in Mother's Sauce, Malai Chicken, Chicken Tikka and Mutton Sheek.
Main course:
-Crab Curry: A part of the main course, this one was an absolute pleasure. After having gorged on starters, I was in two minds to skip main course. So glad I did not.
- Mutton Biriyani: The one with the Odisha flavour. Mild flavors, just the way it is meant to be.
- Seafood Sizzler: A combination of prawns, calamari and more
Mocktails:
They have a rather exquisite range of mocktails. I happened to taste quite a few out of which Chilli Guava was the real bomb. Mango passion was a close second. Purple passion tasted way too artificial.
Dessert:
If you really have room for dessert, opt for their faloodas. Besides that, I liked their Shahi Tukda and ice creams. They also have gulab jamun, ladoos and more.
All in all, a very fulfilling dinner. Their menu keeps changing throughout the week. I am not very sure if this is the place for vegetarians but this is a total non-vegetarian thulp mansion! Value for money as well. For your next barbeque sesh, give this newbie a shot!

Visited this place last sunday along with my husband.....situated at the heart of chennai city triplicane at the very beginning of vallabha agraharam adjacent to star talkies.......coming to parking it is valet parking slightly spacious.....the restaurant is situated at first floor of hotel riviera......ambiance is cool,comfy,serene and cosy......first they provided chicken soup which was good and meat was tender....then they gave us mocktail menu which we have 4 to 5 varieties in which only one can be chosen and limited....mocktail was good....then started the grill ....i would like to say that all starters were very tasty including veg.....their hariyali chicken and chicken sheekh kabab was top notch......all were precisely cooked.....even fish was too good......on the grill it was hariyali chicken,mushroom,chicken wings,barbeque chicken,potato,corn,fish,panneer,gobi...on table they served chicken leg piece,french fries,and prawns......coming to main course there were two types of salad,one was peanut with egg diff and tasty,then ambur mutton biryani when you keep consuming it was very tasty,then mutton pulao and mutton fried rice tasted very good and novel it was....then mutter panner,jumbo octopus i didn't try,dal tadka again no complaints,chettinad pepperbchicken,devil fish gravy,white rice,curd rice all tasted good.......the most disappointing one was the deserts part.....shahi tukda not that tasty,gajar halwa that is carrot halwa and other halwa only was good the rest were very bad....4 flavours of ice cream with various sauces was delicious and finally the falooda was too good with full of cashews..........the only thing the management need to focus is the desert part if that would have been good my rating would have been 5......then service was very good.....keep up the good work guys..........on the whole best barbeque restaurant and a must visit place.......

Grill'o'Phillic had recently opened their newest Barbecue Outlet in The Mount Riviera hotel, Triplicane, one of the oldest neighborhoods in Chennai. It is one of the first of the barbecue restaurants in this locality and newest addition to long growing list of Chennai's food scene. I was invited to try this contemporary new barbecue place with a bunch of other foodies. I ain't much familiar with this locality and Google Maps definitely proved handy.ย
The ambience is simple and bright with comfy seating. This place is spacious enough to accommodate large crowds. They have an open kitchen like most of the BBQ places and a colourful Mocktail bar.
It was nice to meet the man behind setting up this place, Mr. Mahathir. He is very simple and down to earth. He is a doctor by profession, foodie and restaurateur, which is a rare combination of sorts. In due course of conversation, we were informed of the efforts taken by team - in terms of variety, taste and pricing - to make this place distinct from the other barbecue places.
Our dinner started off with an array of Mocktails served first. Signature Mocktail of Spicy Guava was the best of the bunch and worth gulping. Other Mocktails like Mango Fusion and Blue Breeze were pretty good too.
Moving on to the starters, we were treated with both the grill fare and served on the table types. Cambodian Prawns with the dip was the show-stealer. A must try. Chicken Satay, Prawn Satay and the kebabs were pretty good too. The French fries in mother sauce was really good too. There is definitely something magical about the dips/sauce they served with the aforementioned dishes which enhanced the taste a few notches higher.
Tangdi kabab, marinated tender cooked chicken drumsticks, was a delicious melt in mouth appetizer. Tandoori Pompret was a different and unique offering not often seen in most of the BBQ places. It was oozing with exotic flavours of spices all over it which was hard to resist.
The Seafood Sizzler had Prawns, Squids and Fish cooked and spiced to perfection, served piping hot. It was yet another delight. I understand that Sizzler is complimentary for a group of 4. The grilled items were pretty normal and had nothing exquisite or unique unlike the other starters.
I didn't have much appetite left to try main course and desserts section after heavy munching done thus far. Moving on to the main course, we did try a little of most of the items. Crab Meat Masala (no pieces of shell or cartilage in the crab meat) with Butter Naan was a delicacy and simply out of the world. It has been a long while since I had a crab based dish that did please my taste buds. Other main course dishes were pretty good too.
Finally, we moved on to the desserts section. Here again, we did try a piece/small cup of everything on the display. It was definitely a treat to my sweet cravings. We were further delighted to have a Falooda served on our tables, a part of the desserts section.
To sum up, I would say that the by lanes of Triplicane are known for their amazing food. Grill'o'Phillic is no exception and will definitely be an added attraction to the long growing list.

Been here with my frnd fr lunch. Since it was a weekday, room was almost empty. Pricing s good. They make falooda with our choice of ice cream flavours. Since my frnd s a veggie, she was disappointed coz only few veg starters wer der. But it was wholesome fr a non vegetarian.

Tried the veg buffet here. The starters here are the best!! For veg, you have paneer,mushroom as usual and mushroom was great, and they had gobi and aloo in the grill station. Which was different from other grill restaurants and gobi was great.
They had french fries with cheese sauce instead of aloo with the same, like how all the grill buffets in chennai have. The taste of the fries were so good(could have been more crispier) but didn't disappoint me. And a crispy corn which was way different from other restaurant, but wasn't that good.
So.. for starters my rating would be 4.5/5
The most disappointing factor is the main buffet and desserts. Indian breads were awesome but some of the main dishes and desserts were old and dry. Rating for this 2.5/5

Its located on the first floor of the Mount rivera hotel thats situated in a lane next to big mosque in triplicane high road....Has some ample parking for both cars and bikes...but the only problem in accessing the restaurant would be the busy lanes in the evening...you must be a skilled driver if you are coming in cars...
The Ambiance of this place is something that blew me away...its not out of the world but i definitely did not expect such a good place in the locality of triplicane...A very big dining area to easily seat around 100+ppl in a spacious manner...has a open kitchen and buffet items lined at one end like many buffet restaurants in the city...The interiors thats predominantly in golden color and white looks really appealing...comfortable seating too and the maintenance and cleaning were spot on as it was a new restaurant...
The service was really kind and helpful and the servers had a good idea about the items on offer..
The Concept is very similar to any Barbeque buffet in the city with couple of good additions..
The Mocktails were really decent and good start to the meal...The items on the grill were the usual fare and tasted similar too except that prawns were a bit salty...The chicken Satay and the prawn satay with satay sauce were really good...and so were the mangolian prawns..The Chicken tikka and the malai tikka were good in taste and the meat was really soft and juicy...The Tangdi kebab was really the best of the lot..here it was semi gravy and not like the regular tangri kebab...and the taste was simply superb...other items served were the mutton sheek and chicken sheek kebabs which had an extra bit of garlic...Fried pomfret was really well cooked and perfectly marinated..The French fries in mother sauce was really good too...sadly on the veg side the paneer was not that soft and not a great experience...The main course were decent stuff with the biryani being really subtle and awesome in taste...the crab masala was another great dish...all other items were pretty decent too..the naans that were served were good too...The Desserts were limited and only the shahi tukda stood out and by heaps and bounds...The great addition that this place has is the make your own falooda..thats right...after all the heavy food we have an option to make our own falooda...and let me tell you it was well made and well presented...tasted really good too...
Pricing is less compared too all other options in the city...and no variable rates on different days...as already said being the only decent barbeque buffet place in this part of the city this restaurant is a definite try for the people in the neighborhood...and am damn sure you wont be disappointed...

Skewers fish prawn and chicken was too good
Veg mushrooms pineapple and paneer were awesome
Main dish biryani chicken gravy and fish curry was too good
To End the awesome meal we had a falooda which was too good
Overall a good meal will do visit again

As I was new to the grilled buffet restaurant , the dishes which were was new to us, they serve from continental to Indian dishes . The dishes which standout are the prawn tikka , fish, seafood sizzler , mocktail green forest was exotic , the desserts falooda , gulab jamun , shahi tudka , black was forest was fantastic . Overall an awesome Food joint to spend some valuable with the family and a nice place to spend with family.

Actually i was really allured by d name.i was accompanied by my pals.it was a fantabubulous experience.the soft music and d scintillating lights was great.coming to d dishes d starters was really filling , numerous varieties which i nvr had in any othr restaurant starting from pakka desi dishes to continental bahamas beach dishes.mutton gravy ,dragon fish was my clichรฉ. it was d most enjoyed dish by my bestiees..mocktail varieties was unique..a must visit for all d food lovrrrzz ..im goin to b quite regular...v all had sum gala time aftr frantic schedule...............
The name of the restaurant was cache mainly to visit the restaurant . as I have visited abs, barbecue nation , and other grill restos . we wanted to have an change . a warm welcome by the hotel staffs and we were amazed by the interior and the luxurious sofas . which is totally different from the other grill restaurants. The ambience and the lighting was perfect . coming to the food part soups , starters, main course , desserts,falooda all the dishes were perfect . mainly the fish sizzler was amazing to have which was an complimentary one . overall an awesome experience ,will come again .
As we heard a new grill restaurant has been opened in the town . We were a bunch of five people who want to eat different . We were warmly welcomed by the staff .first d soup was served it was unique from other restaurant and there starters were just awesome and equally was d main course . The make your own falooda was a new concept which was heavenly. Their desserts both indian and English pastry was awesome . Overall an awesome experience. A must try resto in d town . I will also recommend others to visit and I shall come again because mainly of d costing which is worth a loads
I came to know about this place through Restaurant's Facebook page. Awesome food,best service and value for money.Everyone should try barbeque at grillophillic.It will be a complete buffet if restaurant adds some more desserts.Overall it's worth.

It was great day with friends in this place, where everything comforts to Ur level, I'm usually Briyani loving person, mutton Briyani was awesome, it was Vera level. Starters alone worth more than Ur spending. Better place in the centre of city, to have such spicy foods, a must visit place. Sure nice place to have BBQ with Ur loved ones and family.
I loved the food, the ambience, the variety it had, from non veg to vegetarian, the amount of cocktails, everything was just amazing. A must to try place for everyone.
I'm a frequent visitor to this new place. Definitely worth the money. The starters kept coming, loved the varieties, especially the drumstick chicken is a must try! The main course and dessert were great as well. Must visit!!
