We had a2b special south indian thali. Items in thali were great. Soup was served first and then came thali followed by ice cream. The only problem is that cut fruits were served with thali which did not make any sense. Also, most of the items were not available during the lunch time. We wanted to try something from traditional items but nothing was available which was a big drawback. Food was good and worth the cost. Ambiance was good too. Parking is an issue during rush hours as its limited in front of the restaurant which is at the first floor. One lady charged Rs 5 for parking when we left which again did not make any sense. I want the authorities to look into it as to why the parking fee was taken.
Had lunch at this place now. Ordered mini lunch which had rice, halwa, vegetables, sambar, pickles, papad. Quantity was sufficient and rate too reasonable
Had cheese Pau bhaji and filter coffee. Cheese Pau bhaji had lots of cheese with butter toasted Pau which made mouth watering and filter coffee was amazing
Good joint for chat food items, sweets and dosas...ordered a variety of different chat items, ghee roast, rasamalai... All were delicious.. Except rasamalai could have been better... Not very sure how hygienic the place really was though.. Cos I did get an upset stomach shortly after.. .... Prices are reasonable.. So I guess for the money you pay, you get value for food..

One of the oldest restaurant chains that started from Chennai. Adyar Ananda Bhavan (or popularly known as A2B) has really spread out in many places around the world and expanded its offerings to sweets, snacks, South Indian, North Indian and even Chinese cuisine.
I frequent the Annanagar west branch for their snacks, and often buy sweets for gifting purposes. Once I sat down to have coffee, and I have to say, their filter coffee is definitely a must try. Fresh and hot Jalebis and Puran Poli are usually made in the evenings. The place is crowded most of the time, so getting a place to sit in the snacking area would be an issue. Parking may not always be an issue as they have vast space right in front of the outlet, but it all depends on the crowd. There are some good restaurants in the vicinity too, so parking space is often shared. A2B has a vegetarian fine dining area too, but I have not tried that yet. So until the updated review comes, hope you enjoy A2B’s delicacies and coffee.
Got a breakfast combo of
Mini masala dosa
Mini pongal
1 idly
1 vada
A sweet....... Taste was phenomenal with ghee taste shown some true color of a gud breakfast. Sweet was excellent and worth try out. Only missing was coconut chutney as I was very fond off. 😎
Hungry? Want quick service? Multicuisine preference? Tasty food..?
Your answer is undoubtedly A2B 😍
A really warm ambience, prompt service, and delicious food is definitely something to appreciate!
My order:
Veg Hot and sour soup
Baby corn pepper fry
Butter naan
Roti
Garlic naan
Kadai vegetable gravy
Gobi Manchurian gravy
The soup was hottt and spiiiicyyyyyy 😍 and realllly tasty...
The baby corn was perfectly cooked and fried n seasoned and lipsmacking.
The naans were really soft and tasty... Butter naan soaaked in butter and garlic naan jussttt garlickyy!
Roti was soft and just right and the gravies were totally delicious. Although the Gobi Manchurian gravy had a tad of sweet taste to it..
Since it was a lunch I went for such main course items. But this place is best known for their chat items and sweets😍♥️. Must try! 🔥

Best Pure Vegetarian Restaurants in Chennai particularly in Anna Nagar
Today me and my father went to Anna Nagar for our official work.
That is afternoon time.
After finish our meeting we ask our office person about good vegetarian restaurants nearer our office.
He suddenly said.. Adayar Anandha Bhavan veg restaurant name.
We go there and my father ordered North Indian meal with Chinese foods veg soup.
Me ordered South Indian sambar rice.
They severd in good manner.
The food taste is very super and delicious. They poured ghee in sambar rice. So it's made my mouth watering.
My father most enjoy to eat North Indian meal.
He said it is like as our home food.
That was the good experience for us.
We feel Adayar Anadha Bhavan restaurant is the best pure vegetarian restaurant located in Anna Nagar, Chennai.
Went there last week and Ordered their Special South Indian meals. The menu had many items starting from Soup,Roti,Kurma,Variety Rice,Rice,Sambar,Kozhambu,Gravy,Kootu,Poriyal,Rasam,Curd,Apalam,Pickle and Sweet..The taste was Good and not sure I missed the items of any.Next to try their North Indian Meals😎
Good place for breakfast. Been there on a few occasions and like the quick service and dosas and chana batura. With decent parking, and though crowded on Sunday's, nevertheless a good place for a family breakfast. Can make you feel a bit cramped when restaurant is full though.
1 paneer gravy not enough for 2 person
Though I have tasted from here, many times, posting a review for the first time.Ordered for Paneer gravy and Veg Pulav.
Both of these were decently made and tasted good.
Nice place for breakfast. Their Dosa and Pongal are good though portions can be improved. Ambience is fair. Service is okay. Good variety offered. I am writing this review after having visited them several times, all for breakfast.
Update: Had lunch over there and for a mini meal, it was a decent affair for the price. Typical business-less fast food South Indian restaurant with minimal seating and ambience.

Well, this is my second time visit to an A2B outlet in a week. And my experience here was good compared to the previous one. Went for short snacks as it was little past 6. But left the place completing dinner quota 😉 The food was served hot and taste wise good.
Our orders:
=========
▪valapoo vada: I'm not a big fan of banana flowers nor the lentils, but this vada was awesome. Especially the red Chutney which they served as sides👌😍
▪inipu paniyaram: This was hot and yummy 😍 jaggery was added to the point.
▪curd vada: Being a fan of curd vada I try to explore this amazing delicacy in different restaurants I go. But it all tastes the same 😑 no variations .
▪mini idly: 2nd consecutive day tasting mini idlis in a week. HSB earns the cookie points for the extra spl ghee they add on top. In A2B I can hardly taste or feel the richness of ghee.
▪sweet poli: sweet or thenga poli as fondly called. This was good too. Only wish they reduce the amount of oil/ghee watever they use to make them.😑

Lunching at Adyar Anand Bhavan is always the safest option and you know that the food will not disappoint you. Thought I'd have parota-kurma, but they didn't have it. So tried mini meals and the food was yum. 3 types of rice after a chapati is tasty as well as filling.
a nice place to dine in for vegetarian food lovers with a decent ambience and hospitality. i visited this place a few number of times and i would suggest the following dishes if you wanna visit this place..
1.nei pongal with medhu vadai
2.sambhar idly

On an evening around 7.pm entered this restaurant and ordered for
Ghee Dosai – was a total failure as the Doasi was not crispy and was a total flop, but still the Sambar and three chutneys served with dosa tasted good
Chola Poori – tasted good, while eating when asked for an onion piece the waiter served me an additional cup of channa
Dahi Puri - Since the dosai was a total flop I asked the server , for the taste of curd, was it sour, if its not, I told him to serve a plate of Dahi puri , where he bought a cup of Dahi to taste and served me Dahi Puri.
14 Idlys – after serving the item he told to ask for more sambar if needed.
¼ Kg of Milk Sweets- Tasted Good
Hats off to the server here they were really amazing… Keep it up.

A great place nearby my house. The butterscotch milkshake available here is too good.I was also amazed by the "Chat Combo" provided at this A2B.The price is quite high, but given the quality and taste, the price can closely be justified.
Been here humpteen times, wanted something new and healthy. They need some experience master/chefs for the chat section to be groomed up. Its need some serious attention.
This one of the quite popular veg restaurant in anna nagar
Ambience is average
Coming to the service its worse they take longer time to server
Only things which we can go for this hotel is for taste
Sambar idly is the best
Ghee roast n everything will be delicious
Worth waiting try mini jangree here
Ok sought of food quality. Ambience is good.. food taste is normal and not as much as expected. Can be improved in quality of food and customer services !
It's good. Though you have to be lucky to eat on the good taste day. Inconsistent with taste. Varies from day to day. The ambience is good. They got to try manage people in a better way. Service is good but it takes time. One big problem is they bring the starters halfway through the meal. Food is good but chat items are the more noticeable. Try cheesy Pav bhaji and those tandoori items. You'd love them. North Indian meals is good but you could add one more roti to it. Work on the service issue and consistency. Else it is a good eatery.
It's a standard place with predictable quality of food and crowded for discomfort.
It's also standard not to expect great service from any a2b joints and I don't know why? This too suffers from courtesies and good service.
Ac hall present is great and their small jangiri is fresh and out of the way!
Situated in long 2nd avenue road, this is integrated one. They have hall, sweets chat section, importantly nice fine a/c dining. Courtesies staff serving neat, complementary 500 ml ninraal water ...all fine. Keep it up . 135 meal is sufficient during lunch.
Was digging away into a decent plate of idli n the waiter places a nice bowl of filled coconut chutney ... Before I could ask !
And Boy that made my day
Nothing beats hospitality .... Also to my luck the place was not crowded .
Food average
Hospitality -- great
Value for money -- Decent
The new renovated a2b is just awesome .!!
Food taste really great .!!
After a long time I ate good food .!!
Food 4.5/5
Price 4/5
Will visit again .!
A2B started as a small sweet shop has evolved in last couple of decades with over 30+ outlets in Chennai! They are famous for Sweets and Chaat items .. Recently visited this place with my friend and ordered for a Dahi papdi chaat.. It didn't taste that good.. Curd was so diluted that it wasn't much to my liking.. Had tried their Pav bhaji and other Chaats which were pretty good.. Service is not prompt most of the times.
This branch has gotten bigger and better. Its almost always crowded. The sweets are good though I don't like artistic or coloured or decorative kind of sweets. Quick and prompt service. Mirrors everywhere kind of decor.
Pav bhaji is great and their buns are fresh and soft with a lot of butter/ghee. Chola puri was good. Dahi puri or dahi chaat didn't taste good.
Went for dinner to adyar ananda bhavan, 12th main road with family. Usual Sunday crowded and got the seat after 15 minutes waiting. Has today's millet SPL sola dosa, it was very nice with especially peanut chutney. Servers should improve the hospitality and aware of availabilities. Some items he took the order and back after five minutes with regret. Ice cream he told not available but some supervisor told available and served. Placing the dishes without cleaning old plates... Etc. Taste is good and love it...
I love A2B's rasmalai and kaju kathili... If you wanna have perfect south Indian snack and food, you should definitely try this place...
Try all different parota's available here.

A place you can always go to for a quick meal. The food is good - a variety of South Indian food and chaat. The parotta here, is different from that in other places and tastes delicious with the pachhidi (raita) they give. You can find a whole world of sweets inside - a few of the hot picks are ras malai, basundhi and strawberries. Bhel puri and kara poli are two popular snacks here. Overall, a very satisfactory cuisine.
This was a great place for a quick stopover . The tiffin varieties and the choices available on the menu were a pleasant surpirse.
The paneer dosa , aloo bonda were awesome to say the least. Other items like the rava masala dosa , mixed veg dosa and chats also were really good.
The staff are courteous and the service was very quick.
You could also get to try out small portions of their pakodas , sweets and savouries on display.
With Diwali a few hours away, review on Adyar Ananda Bhavan was just apt. I’ve been to this house of sweets for almost all occasions. The sweets are a real delight and fresh. Sometimes you can easily get confused seeing the colorful display of various sweets and savories. Some of my regular items from here are Gulab Jamuns, Badushah, Ada Rasam, Kajju Katli, Butter murukku, Karchev and mixtures but none of these beat my all time fav – Jalebi’s and Poli.
When you park outside the Bhavan, you can see few equipments outside towards the right that is usually dormant throughout the day only to spring into action post 5pm. You can view a live show of some of the best bites of the house – Jalebi’s, Tanjore Poli, Masala Poli and other items. But it’s only these 3 items that tempt me to visit A2B every now and then and please bear in mind – they are high in Calories. The Jalebi’s are absolutely mouthwatering. It just devours your senses instantly sending signals to your brain to grab a hundred bites. You can watch how these jalebi’s are cooked right from when they are circled into the hot oil, then immersed in sugar syrup and finally packaged. The Jalebi’s are crisp, hot and perfectly sized, literally melting in your mouth. The Poli’s (Tanjore and Masala) on the other hand, are a treat as well. While the Tanjore Poli is sweet, the Masala Poli carries a good balance of stuffed potato and spice mix. So if you are buying the Poli, buy both and definitely buy the Jalebi’s.
A good place to eat especially for taste lovers ..... most varieties of snacks,chats..... all of mostly self service but okay.... u can enjoy food here
They have service, you can order food and wait for the waiter to arrive with food in comfortable central a/c. Though bit costly all food items are worth the price - in terms of taste, quality and quantity.

great place for chat and desserts. the hot jelabis are really good.
I have been to A2b for many times, Saligramam and Kadalur are the branches I would have covered the maximum. Iam a diehard southie, and generally I come to taste the side dish than the main dish - Side dish can be improved with respect to chutney's and sambar. Sambar can have right amount of Jaggery to taste different from Saapaadu samabar and better to avoid garlic in White Chutney. Otherwise south dishes are fairly good. I feel their Chats especially Bhel puri is outstanding and I actually crave for it - full marks to them. With regard to Juices, they need to definitely reduce the sugar content.
With regard to Snacks and sweets, I would rate Beetroot chips to be the best among all - but it's a rare commodity :( - Their fruit halwa and Jamoons are really difficult to resist with one.

I have had sweets from A2B. They have a lot varieties of sweets, most of which I dont remember/dunno the names. My all time favourite from there is the Badhushah and Strawberry. The mysorepa is not upto the Sree Krishna Sweets's Mysorepa. If you dont like the taste of Ghee I wont recommend this place to you.
Adyar Ananda Bhavan, put up at Anna nagar welcomes every customer with its stereotypical South Indian odour. People find easy to locate the restaurant for the reason that it is situated at the heart of the city. The place is found to be highly populated during the peak hours of the day. Initiating from the breakfast menu to evening munches, every recipes possess its own taste and smell in it. No restaurant serves the best filter coffee as Adyar Ananda Bhavan. One try of sambhar rice, you are flattered. Rasamalai is the speciality of this restaurant. Affordable price rates. Best place to go out with family for breakfast or lunch or dinner.
Tastiest veg restaurant I’ve ever been to— I got a mini meal with plenty of variety that harmonized immensely well. Everything was hot and fresh, the mini papad were crispy, the pickle a delicious addition. Good value. It’s hard to find a tasty vegetarian restaurant in the US, but these guys make it look easy!
I had the South Indian meals here and it was very hearty and filling! All side dishes were good, ghee and paruppu podi were given on the side and you can ask for extra appalams!
Restaurant is clean and the service is slow during peak hours and weekends. Seating could be better improved to accommodate families with more than 5 people.
Their special meals get sold out quite fast but their usual South Indian meals is satisfactory :)
This A2B is located on main road and the area is quite clean. No comments about the taste as I find all the A2B having the same taste & quality. The quantity should have been more for the price they charge. Overall the experience is ok. As usual the sweet & snack shop is on ground floor & the restaurant is on the floor above. I tried their Green Roast Dosa and found is amazing so is the filter coffee.
They really need to work on that air conditioning and maintenance. There was water on the floor and some tables were inaccessible because of that. The A/C was not in proper condition and it was uncomfortable.
The food however was very good and they maintained the expectations and standard of the brand.
While some staff were courteous, some people just stood there idly not responding to any of our calls. The restaurant wasn't even packed when we went and still it took some time for the staff to attend to us.
Very good place for vegetarians. Perfect South Indian Breakfast from idly, dosas to poori.. everything was served really hot and good. Filter coffee is must try! My favourites are Rava dosa, Ghee roast, vada and poori. Pongal is also nice. Have tried mini Tiffin, really worth, offers sweet, masala dosa, one idly, one mini vada, pongal. Could spot many women waitress and they really do their job very well. Very good customer service. On the ground floor, you have the sweets and snacks varieties which you can purchase for your home. Awesome taste. Overall they have good reputation and maintaining standards. Worth the money eventhough a bit pricey! Car parking is available just outside the hotel and can be adjusted.
I had an exceptional dining experience at this Ananda Bhavan. The waiter provided great service, always ready and willing to help without any hesitation. The menu offered a plethora of varieties, from sweets to savories, allowing you to indulge yourself.
The prices were incredibly reasonable, making it accessible for everyone to enjoy. It's undoubtedly the best place to visit for tea, coffee, and sweet treats.
One small suggestion we use to have curd with our food at night even if we have chappati r poori also if coustomer demands for curd u can provide and get additional charges not a issue
Had sambar rice.. Tastes good. Sambar and rice must be equal but served more sambar and very less rice. Had a gud pav bhaji.. I must say its one of the best...
Adayar Ananda Bhavan is a rumored chain of cafés in Chennai which delivers an enormous assortment of sweets, savouries, chats and other stuff. It is a veggie lover restaurant for the most part well known for its desserts. Their Filter coffee is yummy. Administration is speedy however needs graciousness.
Plates and glasses should be kept up with clean which is a remarkable negative point for them. The café serves speedy lunch which is the most favored thing by workers visiting this spot. They keep up with great nature of desserts and savories. The food they serve tastes better than expected. This is a family place and is estimated reasonably.
Very good place for vegetarian people to satisfy their appetite. Food was so tasty and not much spicy or hot as we used to see in common hotel foods...worth for money. Very good service rendered. Ground floor there are chat based items and savouries are sold there. First floor dining was there. Enough space for family seated. Parking area only limited as we have to park infront of the shop or roadside.
