First experience with Hyderabadi Dum briyani was freaking awesome. Tired of eating office briyani, wanted to try out a spicy and authentic Hyderabadi style. I assure that you wouldn't be disappointed for choosing this resto.
Coming to the food and quality :
We have ordered Nawabi family pack briyani which costs Rs 600 /- If you are a ardent foodie, 4 members can share it. Else if you are a poor eaters, 5 can share it.
Ambience:
Quite much disappointed with it. Room was so dark, could have improved with lighting and seatings.
Overall :
Worth a shot, despite of the poor ambience. Who would consider it when we have some spicy vera level briyani infornt of you.

This place is near VIT chennai and is the main center of attraction for students. We studied at VIT vellore and we were missing the taste of the food so we decided to go there. Food was superb. Best biryani in town is served here. We ordered bonless chicken biryani and one mutton biryani. We also ordered garlic naan, butter roti, mix veg and Ambrocia's special chicken. Mix veg was fine and rest of all was so nice. We were 4 people and bill was only 870. Quantity was so good. Cheap and best place to go out for students.
It's a very good place and biryani over here is yummy and delicious. It's near vit chennai and just 5 min walk from here. It's just amazing and perfect place to dine out with friends.

The Biriyani is a must try. But go in only if you can handle the heat. It is way too spicy and not for the faint hearted. The portions are quite good too. However, the dine in portion of Biriyani is less than the delivered one. I'd say even 1:2.

Definitely not a good place for dine in. Tried chicken biriyani , which was super good and authentic in Hyderabadi biriyani style. The spice level is bit high. A single biriyani will definitely serve two persons. Dragon chicken is a must try dish here. Beware of spice level.
The place is located near VIT in mambakkam. It is mostly filled with vit crowd only. This place has been there for a very long time. But when ever I go here, I always end up having chicken biriyani over here. They give chicken dum biriyani over here. It costs 150 rupees per plate. The biriyani is pretty good over here. The only thing is the biriyani is a bit spicy. This place is a typical Andhra based place so it is kind of spicy food that you get here.

The FOOD was simplistic but delicious. The biryani tastes like your typical hyderabadi biryani, but with an element of homeliness. For that price, the quantity and quality is better than expected.
The SERVICE was alright. Nothing worth mentioning. Since the Salana and Raitha utensils were kept on my table, I did most of the serving myself.
The AMBIENCE can be slightly misleading. The place looks a little... (How do I put this politely) ... under-decorated, despite that, it's clean enough on the inside.

I am eating the biryani in Pondicherry from a parcel from chennai and it reminded me of my hometown Hyderabadi biryani.. i longed for my Hyderabadi biryani and this absolutely quenched my desire for it..
First Visit: Too spicy 🌶 that we had to call another friend of ours to finish the food.
Second Visit : We made sure we got the least spicy Biriyani available, and it dint disappoint us.

This place serves one of the best and authentic hyderabadi biryani in chennai. The biryani is spicy and very similar to hyderabadi biryani. The ambiance is a bit shabby and unsatisfactory.
The Dinning is very conjested with lot of people waiting outside to get some food.. But once u manage to get a seat the food is awesome and affordable.. The food is a bit spicy... We had chicken biriyani and chicken 65 which cost around 300...overall it's nice....

Best medium of escape from the monotonous food of the mess was Ambrosia's Chicken Biryani. Affordable price and taste according to the customer never let us down. Ambrosia provides a variety of food items but I think the most famous of them all is their Biryani
This place is like next to my college appt and almost we go most of the time! The briyani is so good with ingrained spicy things and lil spicy! If you are around vandalur - kelambakkam you can try it for a lunch! We go for a kg briyani wer its usually happy for dinning! Wen it comes for ambience is lil bad wer its lil messy! But wen it comes to taste you can try it out....
Had lunch here today. Ordered a Chicken Biryani Hundi for 270 Rs. The Biryani had an authentic spiciness that you'd associate with Hyderabadi Biryani. Would rate the Biryani 4/5.
The downside if the restaurants in the area is that you can't approximate the amount of time needed before you can get the table. That's a huge letdown coupled with waiting in the open, under the sun at noon. The AC though switched on, doesn't cool the room as expected which might make it stuffy with the high inflow of crowd.

I lived in Chennai for a couple of years and my work place was close to Amrocias. One of the colleagues said that this place serves awesome Biryani and one day we decided to go.
First impression of the place wasn't good because it was a cramped up place and filled with students from the nearby engineering college. We had to wait for sometime to get a table. One good thing is that the place is air conditioned and in that weather and the spicy food that they serve, it's badly needed.
We ordered the Amrocias Nawab special family biryani. This is 500 bucks and it serves 4 people. This chicken biryani has 4 biryani piece, 3 full eggs, 4 chicken 65 pieces and loads of biryani rice. The biryani is Andhra style and is ultra spicy. They give free unlimited buttermilk to help beat the spicy effect of the biryani but the buttermilk itself is a little spicy. So beware, it is definitely not for the people who don't like spicy food. You can also get a refill of just the biryani rice when you order the nawab special biryani and it's just 100 bucks.
We also ordered the chilli chicken but it wasn't great. So from the next time we went there, we stuck to the biryani and we were not disappointed. On the whole this is a brilliant biryani joint and is light on the pocket.
Whenever I think of Biriyani I think about Ambrocias. Its the same story for almost every student of VIT Chennai. The amount and taste they deliver at a very reasonable price is just unparalleled. Their home delivery service is equally efficient.
Presently they bill around INR 140 for Chicken Biriyani. Except biriyani and a very few chicken items their other items are not upto the mark. Whenever you think of Hydrabadi biriyani try Ambrocia for once...
This was the hip and happening place in Keelakottaiyur about a year or so ago when it had opened up, as it was one of very few options available for the VIT University students and us folks working at Shasun and Lifecell.
However, over a period of time, the restaurant has seen its fall from grace. Better-looking outlets like Chennai Vilas and more recently, Rajputra have come up, leaving Ambrocias way behind in terms of ambience and decor.
However, their Biriyani is still pretty good and its always a good idea IMO to order either the Chicken Biriyani Hundi or the Ambrocias' Special Platter if you're going in a group. Apart from the biriyani, only the Chicken Pepper and the Chilly Chicken are worth mentioning. Everything else is just way too mediocre.
Hoping that they reinstate their glory days soon.

Went on april 4, 19. Itz ordinary reataurant. Taste is very good. Hydrabad style briyani. Very spicy food, as it is andhra style restaurant spice level should be little high i beleive. I ordered one chicken briyani and mutton fry, both ok.10 mins wait time once ordered.

One of my favourite places that I have been visiting since 6-7 years I used to travel 50kms for this place.
I would say they serve the best briyani.
Finger licking garlic naans. The best in chennai I would say.
You can also try paneer butter masala, kaju masala.
