A small space in a tight location. Yet they manage to strike. A well organised menu, and quality food. They have managed to establish themselves as one of the go to place for delivery in the area. The quantity was more than sufficient, and I was very much happy with all the items that I ordered.
I personally had a feel like everything tastes the same.. even though we tried different mixing for rice and noodles I had a feel of same taste.. otherwise it was a good experience..
Amazing food 😻one of my favourite restaurants. Such quick service and absolutely delicious food always. A must try. Do pair their food with goli sodas and end it with the amazing brownies they provide 😻
I accidentally made a visit to this restaurant but came out satisfied. It was our friend's birthday and we were hungry and away from home. The closest restaurant was The Noodle Theory. The only staff who handled the cash counter as well as the kitchen was gonna wind up for the day as it was around 12.30 pm. We spoke to him and without hesitation, he welcomed us and offered a few dishes.
We couldn't taste the Noodles or the momos but we enjoyed the Baby Corn and Honey Chili Potatoes 😋. Also a mention for their beverages, have unique names and were amazing too. Post Covid, will certainly make a visit to have some Noodles.

Their customized wok is top notch. I ordered a flat noodle with a combination of veggies like mushroom, broccoli, babycorn, zucchini and water chestnuts with tofu and hibachi sauce. It tasted so good and the sauce was a perfect mix of sweet, spice and tangy. Their Berry ice tea was also great. Must try if you are someone who likes pan Asian food😄

The starters were fantastic. Props to the lotus stem and the baby corn but be informed they tend to get hard as it gets colder so gobble it up asap. The momos were a little underwhelming and the Bao wasn't available when i went but the negatives end there. The berry ice tea hit the spot and all the other different flavours deserve to be tried too. But coming to the main man of the hour, the wok bowls were magnificent. SO worth the money and so exotic and different and delicious. Try every possible combination you can cause you never know what magnificent beast you'll end up making. My go to place (when i have money) for sure.

Tofu in Pepper Overdose – Kinda burnt in parts yet had its signature taste, was salty but was spicy too in the semi-gravy state

Crispy Chilly Potato – Typical fries with mild sauces sautéed with veggies; wasn’t oily so had to flavours intact

Wok Noodles – Picked up 2 noodle woks (one spicy and the other being mild-spiced); The mild-spiced one had Sambal in spinach noodles; it was crunchy with the peanuts and burnt onions; was smooth yet the spices dominated over spinach. Next up was the regular noodles with Mallaka sauce; was super smooth, rich in flavours and spice; was sufficient enough to fill one’s tummy

Wok Rice – The best of the day with Chilli rice and Mallaka sauce (yet again). It was saucy, had good veggies and was evenly distributed with the seasoning

Einstein and Madam Curie – The Berry Iced tea was smooth which helped to alleviate the pain caused by the Mallaka; the Pink Lemonade too had a different kick but wasn’t up to the former’s level

Choco Chunks and Ferrero Rocher Brownies – To sum up, the meal with was the soft brownie; both were freaking soft, almost felt like eating a dough rather the bread itself; they were sweet, chunky and had to yearn for more
Ambience/Price:
This place has good parking space with sufficient seating space too; no complaints on the service side and the ambience too would please almost anyone and everyone. The only concern might be the price since the Q:P ratio for cookies and brownies will raise some eyebrows.

With great experience at noodle story in Calcutta it’s been on our mind to try noodle theory in chennai. And we are glad we did.
We ordered Spicy wonton soup and Flat noodles with Kung Pao sauce (few veggies and toppings).
Soup was loaded with vegetables and tasted yum.
Noodles were delicious too. Not usually fan of noodles but this taste is so good that I had grabbed good quantity off the plate.
Single bowl of noodles serves decent quantity for two. Of course we were hungry too yet.
Sweet nothings....served in leaf made bowls and cutlery.
Without any second thought I would be happy to visit the place again and try interesting beverages with ice teas..goli soda on the list.

This place was on my list for a long time ....
Finally got to visit it with my friend.
Ambience: It’s a nice little place on the way to Besant Nagar. It has ample space and wasn’t crowded. It’s well lit and calm so that you can enjoy your food.
Menu: I loved the way the menu has been made. You can customise your noodle and rice. It has starter and drinks .
Food: we ordered chilli potatoes. I just loved it. The flavour was so good. The crispiness was perfect.
We customised our noodle and the sauce was schezwan. I loved it too. A bit oily towards the end. I didn’t expect the quantity to be much but to my surprise it was fully for both of us.
We ordered Kung pao sauce fried rice... A new flavour for me and I liked the tangy taste of it .
We also ordered the Einstein drink which has a cute little bottle. paneer soda was also good
Service: Self service . The preparation of the food was quick . We couldn’t complete the fried rice so they packed it and gave. Using organic plates for serving was good too.
A must visit for variety of noddles and rice and purely veg too.

I got the nutty spring roll,crispy lotus stem, dimsum and Rice. Everything tasted great also the best part is that You can make your own rice or noodles with your own choice of sauce and veggies.
A decent little place serving customised noodles, The Noodle Theory has been on my list for quite some time now. Located right opposite to Hix bar, TNT is a self-service cafe having a limited menu but endless possibilities. The ambience is okayish and the food was not so bad. Bonus- it’s also easy on the pocket!
What we ordered:
Crispy Sesame Babycorn: Garnished with peanuts and spring onions, I found this dish a lil brackish and not as crispy as I thought it’d be, but tasted great nonetheless.
Noodles: choosing the type of noodles and veggies you want is okay, but the sauce is a mammoth task. The names were Greek and Latin to us, so we just went with Hebachi sauce.
The portion size here is quite good and therefore value for money. I’m definitely visiting this place again to try out the other sauces. Meanwhile, TNT should start playing originals instead of covers.
PS- they also have goli soda!

A nice self service restaurant, Noodle theory is a vegetarian restaurant serving Chinese and Thai food. Been there couple of times, starters are amazing. It is a Choose-It-Yourself main course where you can choose rice/noodles, veggies, toppings, and sauce. Choosing the right combo can be quite daunting as we have no clue what goes into the sauce except for the spice meter. Would be happy if they can give a hint on the nature of the sauce so we can choose right. We went with the chef suggestion first time and it was awesome. Next time we tried our own and it did not turn out well. So going with the chef suggestion or a bit of knowledge will certainly help. Nice addition is the goli soda in the beverages section
A classic example od customer service is from Noodle Theory.
I never knew that there will be a subway equivalent that will customize your dishes in the chinese way and my god there are such endless possibilities. From the amazing service to the polite couple who runs the place. Everything about this restaurant is so warm and friendly atmosphere.
What I liked about this place is the economic friendly dishes which I ordered were customized to perfection for your tastebuds.
Overall this is the restaurant I would suggest you to go for.

Location- they had a decent parking space despite being located on the main road.
Ambience- specially loved the ambience here. They tried to bring the oriental feel with open kitchen. One of the very few small spaced restaurants to have an inbuilt washroom.

The noodle theory is one of my absolute favourites in the city to fulfill my craving for Asian food 🍜 We tried the Crispy sesame babycorn and Veg clear soup

The crispy babycorn was delicious and so was the soup! Fragrant and Flavourful ❤️ The soup and the starter go very well together as well, and definitely a must try! Since the place is all about customisation and they offer different toppings and sauces to choose from to create your own magical wok 💚 I’ve tried a couple of different sauces and combinations but I absolutely loved their Red Thai curry! (Coconut based) If you love a good Thai curry you must try this out. .
Because I absolutely love the flavour of lemongrass, I had to try out their new sauce on the menu- Ningmeng Cao! It had a subtle yet beautiful flavour to the entire dish. The toasted sesame seeds on top gave added some crispy texture to the dish and the fried onions are a Must to top up your dish with! The grape flavoured goli soda bought back some childhood memories 💜 The dishes were served piping hot which was the best part!

Well, this place is a good choice for ppl who like to customise their main course with plenty of distinct flavours that can actually go really well together. I liked the options they give in terms of veggies, sauces and dressings.. I must say that all of these put together gives you a really filling meal in itself. You could complete your dinner for two with one main course (construct your wok) and a starter or two. Neat ambience and pleasant lighting that go fairly well with the light brown theme seem conducive and I really don't mind self-service. Their desserts are good despite being eggless and the drinks are small sized portions which is just enough for one. I personally enjoyed the final outcome of what was served to me but it was a tad difficult to complete the portion after sharing a starter. Both rice and noodles are good. Go for it when you are in the mood for customisation or something different.
This place serves really good food! Soups are yummy Must try boas and wonks they are really tasty. Ambience is quite good, overall experience is great.

The menu allows you to make your own special treat from the veggies to the choice of noodles/rice to the sauce varieties! The other aspect I lived is the use of organic plates and spoons (for soups) it makes you feel really connected with the food.
Would highly recommend anyone to go here if you want the best and wholesome flavours.

Ambience- Simple and functional designs for a self-service setup. Quite full.
Ordering style and Menu - Have to fill up personal menu forms. Easy to fill. The menu was very interesting with its choices. Picked up a do your own Noodle/Rice/Salad.
Food- Spring Roll starter was nice. Picked up a paneer based veggie-laden Japanese Red wine flavoured Udon (Buckwheat Flat Noodles). Was good. My husband ordered a paneer based lemon garlic flavoured basil rice. It was also tasty but reminded me of risottos.
Overall we had a pleasant experience, but for the slow service.
This was a random selection off of Zomato's nearby highly rated restaurants and it turned out to be a fruitful visit. This place had innovative variety of dishes. Louis stem dish is a must try. And make your own wok with a ton of options was also very good. This place has a self service system which I'm totally fine with it. The only thing which hampered otherwise wonderful experience was that we ordered 6 to 7 dishes and we had to go that many times to and fro to get the orders. Maybe a better timing of the dish delivery would've reduced the number of times we had to make that.
Ordered spinach noodles with chilli oil sauce- I'm not a big fan of the sauce, it's only spicy and nothing more. The veggies are fresh and crisp, and the water chestnut is amazing! Definitely try this place: you get to experiment at an affordable rate. The drinks are also good, but nothing special. Will definitely eat from here again :)

First i have been to the t.nagr branch. At first i didn't like the food at all maybe i didn't know what to choose. Then later i had tried the lotus stem in my college. I liked it as it was something different than what i have eaten till now. It was nice and crispy. Even i liked the momos.

I was surprised to know they have Jain options too. Could work a little more on the cleanliness as there were a couple of flies in the restaurant.
Otherwise a great place and I definitely look forward to going back and trying out more momos and noodles .

The first time went to this place I was quite surprised to see Chinese cuisine quite different from what we get in the other restaurants! It was quite good. I ordered a veg szechuan momo which was not momo dipped in a hell lot of sauce(which I liked that the most), it was quite good! I ordered noodles which was a little different from what we get in other restaurants in Chennai! The best dish among all the dishes we ordered was the starter, crunchy lotus stem! If you are going to this place, then this dish is a must order! It was awesome!
Overall a must try place if you love chinese cuisine and if you are in Chennai!
Great food, ambience and great people. Tasted superb panasian after long time. Nothing to complain and all we had was excellent, starting from the veg clear soup to dimsums to their "make your own wok".

Cute ambience and unique way to take order. You can customise what all you want in your noodles from veggies to 10 different types of sauces and even type of noodle can be selected. They give you a menu to make your checklist as well as add your drinks and dessert.
It's not serve restaurant so you need to pick your order and also ensure you clear the table before you leave. They have disposable but very cute looking wooden plates so that's not very difficult to do.
I tried spinach noodles with hibachi sauce and momos which was very good. Not a great fan of their graham lemonade but goli soda is good. The drinks are only 49rs and Rest of the menu is also decently priced so for two people we paid around 500.
The only flaw of this place was - its VEG!! Please introduce some non veg options to your momos and noodles.
I have visited The Noodle Theory two times now and even though my experience the first time was not really great, the second time around things have really taken a turn for the better.
Their spinach noodles are the best and all the ingredients tasted very fresh! There is not a long wait for the food too and the ordered were delivered very fast!

The Nooodle Theory, Adyar is located near HIX Restaurant and Bar and is one of my recent favourites. They have two more outlets in T nagar and Kilpauk too!
Coming to the parking, it was slightly hard for find parking as we went on a weekend. But good enough. It’s pretty easy to locate the place too.
The ambience is pretty nice too, it’s self service and the people behind the counter are really sweet. We took their help to decide on what to order. They helped us with the spice levels ( my mom cannot tolerate much spice)
They have a make your own wok, which I’m excited to try the next time I’ll be visiting the place!
We tried the Lung Fung soup, absolutely stunning flavours! I’m not a big fan of soups but this made me fall right in love! Perfect start to the binge.
Huge shoutout to their Ferrero Rocher Brownies! They were eggless, yum and hot hot ❤️
And to mention their Crunchy Lotus Stem. Must try!

This is a great place on the main road, right opposite to Hotel Esthell in Adyar and is easily locatable. The ambience is great and is well lit. It's an interesting idea to make customers choose what ingredients they would like in their noodles. The food was really tasty. The Chili Panneer Bao is a solid 10/10. The Flat Noodles with Kung Pao sauce and the Wheat Noodles with Mallaka sauce were great too. Will be visiting here again soon.
This is a great food destination, a heaven on earth!! That’s what we felt once we started eating the food! Went with the family and really loved the dishes that we ordered - cheese and mushroom dim sum, jasmine rice with black pepper sauce, paneer and garnishes, Thai red sauce noodles was awesome as well. The Noodle Theory can be called my new favorite place with just one visit. They have quite a few branches in Chennai and the one I visited is at Adyar.
The place is a full of vegetarian indo Asian place.
More like a self service place and even you can clean your own table. ( Why not ).
We started off with potato fries in sweet chilli sauce and lots of seasame seeds. It wasn't the pre packed cut potatoes, but fresh ones was tossed in oil and with the sauce it was flavourful yet light.
In the Momo section we got our hands on the wasterchestnut and tofu filling variant. It was a bag of flavour , with a crunch of that chestnut and the flavour of spinach in the outer layer. Must have.
There idea of main course is the DIY SECTION. Where one can chose their base , sauces , veggies and toppings.
We went for flat noodles with kung pao sauce and veggies . It was yummy in every bite. Chuck's of semi cooked veggies gave that good kick to the pallate.
Bill amount - 650INR.
Highly recommended for all vegetarians.

REALLY GOOD FOOD.
- The khow suey here is a signature dish. It's by far the best khow suey I've had in Chennai. (₹170)
- The red Thai curry + flat noodles/rice has to be my favorite wok here with the right blend of sweet and spicy.
- The mallaka noodles were a bit dry but tasted good.
- Kung pao tasted better with rice than it did with noodles and it was pretty good too.
- Spicy peanut sauce noodles was decent too.
- Hibachi sauce noodles was a go for me because it tasted different.
- Chilli potato was a great appetizer.
- Peppered Tofu was also really good.
- The lemongrass lemonade and lemongrass iced tea were really good.
- The dimsums were not so great.

Ambiance ✔️ on a scale of 1 to 10, I would give them7️⃣. Ask me if I will go back, the answer is yes. they have good variety and the place is new. and fully vegetarian too. the food is served on eco friendly plates and non-plastic. Barring their fork cum spoon, I didn't find much of use of plastic!

Constructed a Wok with Spinach noodles base; Mallaka Sauce; Paneer; veggies such as Mushrooms, Broccoli, Zucchini, Chinese Cabbage and Corn with some brown onions and burnt garlic as garnish.
Totally satisfied with the Wok! Very appetising and filling. Just couldn’t get enough of it. Totally flavoursome, but, it seemed super oily and was extremely spicy (might be due to the sauce).
I just couldn’t find any Paneer or Mushrooms in it. Just a lot of chillies! You could definitely improve on the quantity of the veggies for the price you charge.
Definitely worth a try! Choose your sauces and veggies wisely to have an extremely scrumptious meal.

Amazing food with decent ambience..we ordered crispy chilli potato for starters which was great. cucumber and broccoli Bao buns was ok types where u have to literally search for broccoli. Then came the black bean fresh noodles which was by far the best..!!
Finally, a place where we can customize our noodles 🍝, quiet impressed with their wide range of noodles, veggies & sauces 🙌🏽
The only setback would be their prices, I personally feel a price of Rs 200 + taxes for a single portion of DIY noodles is pretty expensive, due to which I'm not giving 5 stars .
Just walkd in to have some brunch on ma bday for a diff try..I loved Crunchy lotus Stem very much as it was tere signature dish as well as noodles taste was very gud as we expected.Worth for Money too!!
Been seeing this place now and then when driving towards Beasant nagar..located just at the entrance of Beasant nagar avenue road.. take a left below the adyar bridge.. left into Beasant nagar towards shri mithai.. o
You will see this on the left.. parking cars is a problem.. best park under the adyar bridge and walk over.. or park in one of the gullies opposite this place... now food.. No meat for the non vegetarians.. it's a pure veg joint.. how to order.. pick up the menu and the pencil.. and make your own combos...self service.. and make sure you dump the recyclable bowls and plates into the dustbin.. Yes pls clean up after yourself.. food is outta the world.. portion size is a little small.. but value for monies.. we reached pretty early in the evening about 1800 hrs.. place was empty.. by the time we started feeding our bellies .. it was getting filled up.. go try .. make your own #zomato review.. #panasian food.. veg food 😉 .. bon appetite

Great food, smart ambience. Tried two different wok bowls, both were brilliant. The veggie dumplings were good too. Didn’t get a chance to sample the drinks this time around. We’ll be back!
Since i have already been to their kilpauk branch, my expectations were higher when i visited their new branch adyar

The best part is we can choose the ingredients we want and can construct our own wok, this time i chose my base as noodles, no matter whatever sauce we chose they make it to a perfect taste and i love their quality and also the quantity they provide
DESSERT :-
I wanted to try their candies but unfortunately it was not available so i went on tried their brookie brownie, and it tastes awesome even without accompanied by ice cream

Noodle theory!! Nice ambience...and customised choice..everything was good.. ordered udan noodles and Soba noodles..both were good in taste.. We went with our son and the owner Mr. Lucky was kind enough to prepare his food which is less spicy. And my son liked it too .. finished with Abdul Kalam and Newton and Ferro rocher cake..all were awesome!! If you want to have your own customised noodles then this is your place..

The noodle theory's new branch in Adyar seems like a quaint little space from outside but is quite spacious.
Few leaflets and pencils were handed out upon our arrival. The menu was printed on the leaflet and we had to choose from the lot. I was impressed with the variety of options for noodles. For starters, we had the cheese and mushroom dimsums and sesame crispy corn. The dumplings were light and tasty but the size of the dumplings were tiny. The corn starter was too dry and all it needed was a condiment to elevate the taste. We also had an 'Einstein' drink, it was minty and refreshing. For main course, we had a pretty hard time deciding on what sauce to pick for our noodle. We chose one wheat Schezwan noodle one flat kung pao noodle. The Schezwan had a nice flavour to it and the vegetables complemented the rest nicely. The kung pao was not great in taste compared to the Schezwan. Maybe the choice of Vegetables had an influence on the two. The main issue with the noodles was the quantity. It would be great if the quantity was increased. I love the fact that they've tried to maintain the theme across and named their drinks after famous Scientists. I missed out on trying the brownies. But I'll be back for that another time :)
