Outwardly it appears as a round the corner joint. Once you go in, the simple and practical sitting gives it a very cool and home like ambience. For a moment I felt as though we were sitting at home for lunch.
But, the dining room was too small for 19 guests around 3 tables, particularly when there is a boisterous group of youngsters who were at their noisiest best.
And then came the food. All the right tastes in every morsel and in every sip. And the sounds muted for sometime as we dived in.
The loaded nachos, chicken quesadillas, fired chicken birria tacos accompanied by some good margaritas were filling.
Service was a little tardy. Our drinks were not served at the same time so we had to wait.
Will we visit again - maybe.

Value for money - a tad expensive 6/10
Note that they levy a 10%service charge. - Not done.

We had a great time at this restaurant. Despite a little mishap with one of the dishes, the owner was quick to rectify it. The pork enchiladas were absolutely delicious, as well as the pork enchiladas. Do keep in mind that the portions are well sized and it’s easy to get full fast - which is a good thing. Rest of the family members enjoyed their dishes as well like the fried calamari and the pork birria tacos. Drinks like the spicy watermelon and pink lemonade were very pleasant. And worthy mention of the clean washroom facility available, not a very common sight if I do say so myself.
I would definitely recommend visiting this place whenever you can, with friends and family. :)

Good menu options to try both veg and non-veg along with a nice choice of drinks to lair with it.
The food tasted great and it was worth the money we pay.
Service was not good and needs to be improved.
A service charge of 10% is being added and when I said it was optional they denied it and it's very rude to force customers to pay a Service charge which is supposed to be optional.

If you’re after Mexican food and if you love tacos, this is the best place for it. The service was great and super fast. The ambiance was good as well. We loved their ceiling lights. Now to the food…We loved the chipotle mushroom tacos, loaded nachos and the smoked enchiladas. Quesadilla was ok. One surprise on the menu is that they don’t serve burritos of any type. One negative I would say is that my son ordered the chipotle mushroom tacos for the second time as he loved it at the first serving but he didn’t eat it because it was with more oil and didn’t taste as good as the first serving.
A decent mexican restaurant with clean and simple ambience with good food. Don't miss the desert. Its a must try. Slighter higher on the cost side.

Amazing Mexican dishes here, you can really taste the passion they put into making them. The ambience is quaint and evocative of a Mexican pueblo, and the dishes themselves are presented with an artistic flair. The desserts are a must-try here, especially the tres leches. Overall, a great eatery to experience authentic Mexican food in Chennai.
Amazing food and service at MEXE! Loved the pork and beef Birra’s! The Chicken Quesadillas we soo good! Nachos and Guacamole are not to be missed! Cactus lemonade was an interesting and refreshing drink! Chef Ganesh and his team were wonderful and the food definitely something that will keep you coming back for more!!! The tres leche was moist and delicious, a perfect way to end our meal!
Best place in town for authentic Mexican food. The food quality and ingredients show it. Everything from their sour cream to their pulled pork tacos are amazing. Would highly recommend if you love mexican food.
Undoubtedly the best Mexican food spot in the heart of the city. I have become a fan of their churros and tacos❤️. Loved the food presentation. The chef and the staff both were cordial. We tried a lot many of the menu. Coming to the food , we tried the Chipotle Mushroom Tacos, Grilled Fish and Pork Belly , all the three are highly recommend 🤘, along with Smoked Veg Enchiladas ,Habanero Chicken Wings and Grilled Fish fillet in the mains. For the dessert, do not forget to try he Tres Leches and Churros. I had my first Champurrado here. All in all a very good dining experience but the pricing is definitely on the hefty side.

What I liked about mexe was the freshness of the food. The fresh fried nachos with guacamole and the dips were just the right way start our dinner. The mango habanero chicken was spicy and tangy. The drink of the day was mango with jalapeno and was bang on. Of the 3 main course we ordered the fried chicken was my favourite!
Go to mexe if you want the best of Mexican food in Chennai!

The place has an indoor and outdoor space to suit your needs. The interiors are simple and elegantly done.

Ever since this place opened, been wanting to try them. I love mexican food and it was a shame that until a few years back there weren’t any mention worthy options in Chennai.

The staff were nice quick to attend to us and good with recommendations.. The food service was reasonably quick and what impressed me the most was how the owner played an active role in supporting his team - sign of a good leader I guess.

We tried chips and guacamole, pumpkin tacos, chicken birria tacos and tres leches for dessert.
I really enjoyed all the dishes, while my wife did not seem to enjoy the pumpkin tacos too much; ordered it based on a friend’s recommendation and I suppose its either a hit or miss.
While it was a bit of a surprise to not find burritos (was told it was not part of menu as they did not want to make it tex mex - which sounds fair), I was glad they had a very good tres leches. I am so happy I don’t have to travel to Bangalore to grab a slice of this delight.

Moderately sized dining space with both indoor and outdoor dining options. The interiors are simple and tables just about adequate in size.
We found parking right in front and if its not too crowded, you would too.
On a summary note, a great addition to the growing diversity of offerings in Chennai. Must try if you are a fan of Mexican food and I am surely going back.
One of the best tex mex spots in Chennai, the enchiladas and wings are a must try.
