Usually it’s very crowded its difficult to get seats we have to wait in the queue must try food is nice
“YUM” ❤️😍is all that comes to mind while posting this. I’ve had such a wonderful dine in experience at Madhoos. ❤️😍The huge crowd at the restaurant during the lunch hours describes the quality of food served. I loved each and everything which We’ve ordered and the prawns🦐 fry won my heart. You can finish the food with the “MORU CURRY” alone!!!🤤So if you are someone who wishes to have a tasty fresh seafood of alleppey, Madhoos is the right place. I swear you are not going to be disappointed.
I had a wonderful experience at Madhu Seafood Restaurant, a cozy place located on a narrow road near Cherthala main road. I arrived at a busy time, but I was lucky enough to find a seat. The restaurant is situated in a spacious compound with trees, creating a relaxing atmosphere. The owner, Mr. Madhu, greeted all the guests personally with his charming presence. I appreciated his hospitality. The menu was full of tempting dishes, and I had a hard time choosing. With the help of my colleagues, I decided to have meals with kalanji curry, philopia fry, and neymeen curry. The fish was fresh and cooked to perfection. The portions were generous and satisfying. The spices and fish complemented each other well. I commend the chefs for their excellent work. The rice was hot and flavorful. The side dishes included payar thoran, kondattam mulak, and a unique curry made with finely chopped mixed vegetables. It was a delightful meal that I enjoyed thoroughly. I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves seafood. Make sure to arrive early to enjoy all the specials, otherwise you might miss some of the delicious fish dishes.
If you would like, you can also purchase soft drinks and ice cream.
Oh what can I say, Madhuchettan is cherthalakarude swantham ahankaram aanu. Food, hospitality top notch. Very affable customer service, they take cash, card as well as paytm/gpay. We ordered Kalanji, Neymeen, Mathi and Prawns fry. Prawns masala is alone enough to eat the rice. Kalanji is a must try fish. Soft flesh and just the right frying gone into it. I was surprised to see even Mathi pan fried. Neymeen is also equally good. They gave us fish gravy to go with the Paal Kappa.
Ample space to park, just get there by 12:30pm.
Oh boy! finding the place felt like a winding maze! The road was so narrow, but at the end to reach an open space with cars parked all around. There was Madhuchettan himself, ready to welcome us.
It doesn't have that usual restaurant vibe, more like a busy home-side shack. You've got to play a quick game of musical chairs to snag a seat and place your order. The service there is lightning fast - no waiting around.
I ordered paal kappa, thala curry, natholi fry, prawns roast, karimeen polichathe and something else . Oh my goodness, the flavors were absolutely mind-blowing and you will definitely lick your fingers at the end. I can still taste it on my tongue! Madhuchetan is super friendly, making you feel like you've just stepped into a cousin's house, except you still have to settle the bill. 😉
A hidden gem at cherthala town. Must try place for fish lowers. Food was excellent. Especially the kalaanji fry and prawn 🍤 fry. The fresh fish food🎣 is the specialty of this shop.
My advice is to choose the dishes after discussing abt the price. 🫤🫤🫤.
The portion they are serving is bigger. Same the cost. Price is lil high. 🫡🫡🫡.
400/- kalaanji fry 🐟
300/- prawn 🍤.
60/- oonu. (One pickle, olathu, sambaar, mooru)
Price is a factor. A homely ambiance. The marination is same for Almost all the fry dishes. 🥹🥹🥹. But that has a unique taste.
Recommended.
I can suggest a good spot other than this is VAASU CHETANTE KADA (chaalakudy). 😋😋😋😋. 1st in my list. 🙂🙂🙂
Nice seafood spot with a nice atmosphere, though service can be a bit inconsistent due to crowds. Lunch is normal like homemade, but the real treat is their array of fish dishes—prawns, kingfish, sardines, crab, and more. The masala is very much colored Just watch out for the excessive red color on the fish. Seafood enthusiasts must try the flavors here. Find it 300 meters off the highway with ample parking.
The food is simple yet surprisingly tasty. The shallow fried fish is one of the best I’ve ever had!
The host, madhu chettan is a real friendly dude.
The place gets pretty crowded, but considering the taste of the fish they serve, it’s not a surprise at all!
The road to the place is narrow and parking situation is a little tough, but none of those would stop you from coming back for the yummy fish!
The food especially the fish was really good. But the space available for the crowd is very limited.
Very limited parking also available.
Try the fried items, the fish curries are all the same.
If You are a seafood lover this is one of the best spot especially for fried items. They serve with an average meal with unlimited quantity but the add on fish verities like prawns fry, kingfish fry, kozhuva fry ( which we tried and also I recommend to try )were outstanding. Fish was very fresh and tender that we can feel when we eat.Prices are justifiable for the quality and quantity served.
The Madhu's sea food restaurant is an up-coming destination in its own respect. The sea food served is fresh, which is the main highlight of the place. All the food I had from this restaurant met a decent standard.
However this is not someplace that I would recommend to go in as a family, especially with kids. First of all, it's really crowded at lunch time during the weekends. The seating facility is rudimentary except for the few tables in the new AC building.
Moving on to the food, it's not as spicy as you'd imagine from the pictures, but the masala used is not to my liking. The default cooking is medium and if you want well-done, you need to specify. This for me is a deal breaker especially for sardines and anchovies. The staff are very friendly, however in most of the cases they are overwhelmed with the crowd.
Overall, a good place to have a seafood lunch if you are not planning to take your family.
It's a great place to have homely sea food. They use coconut oil and raw grounded spices for their recipe to have the authentic taste in their dish. Service is fast and friendly.
Sea food quantity and quality is good. However the taste is average. Nothing exceptional. Mostly because of the level of salt( which is on the lower side).
All food excellent with flavor of fresh coconut oil and pepper. Really Spicy food but great taste. Shallow fried prawns and fish egg dry fry must try. Enough parking space. Owner is humble and ready to hear all your requests.
But Requires better ambience.
Good place for seafood lovers, varieties of seafood available, but selection of dishes limited.
Not a fine dining place. Actually seems more like madhus house has been converted to a dining space. But no regrets.
The seafood is amazing. The staff is humble and courteous. Hospitality is great. Its a high demand place so go early even on weekdays if you wish to have your choice of seafood.
Take note of the fact that you won't get anything apart from meals and tapioca for mains. They have a wide variety of seafood but no biryanis or other fancy dishes.
Would definitely recommend a visit for sea food lovers.
Heard about this place while looking for a place to have lunch at Cherthala....And I m glad I went here....Best place to go if you are a sea- foodie....Prawns fry is a must try ....They serve normal meals along with the fish curries and fries of your choice....The kappa just flows into your mouth... Mr.Madhu is a very polite and humble host who greets you into his homely restaurant with a grand smile....He even takes you for a tour of his cooking area wherein all the fish are being prepped up for cooking.....To add up to this hospitality, there are 4 toilets available...2 each for gents and ladies....And they have been kept clean ..... Go there and you will be impressed just by seeing the crowd swarming in for experiencing Madhu chettan's famous sea food .....

Fish lover's paradise without doubt. Road to the place is narrow, but will be a rush of premium cars during 12 - 3 pm, coming to dine at this homely meals restaurant. Go in groups, so that all can have a taste of different dishes. Service is poor due to heavy rush, but worth the wait.
The food was very authentic with the flavor they use
Service was nice but little bit late to take the orders
The overall atmosphere is very nice
Each fish has it has authentic taste and we can explore the sea food
