Great place to have briyani. They still maintain the vintage taste. Must try if you are in Coimbatore.

Since 10 years whenever I go to Coimbatore I don't miss having food at Thambiannan Biriyani.
First of all as many who had been to here would agree that parking is a risky factor not getting attracted to this hotel. You may have to park some where else so that some would find walking difficult. I have parked many times half km and walked to get this Biriyani.
Many would also find it difficult to get 1st floor to get to the AC section as the stair is a bit narrow and old pals would find it difficult.
You won't find any cozy seating, fancy lighting's and "what would you like to have" waiters.
Regarding food I haven't eaten many things from this hotel being visited so much time. Each and every time I go there thinking to order something else. But the MUTTON BIRIYANI and MOOLA FRY( BRAIN FRY) my taste buds would force me to order the same.
It's safe for fitness freaks as every time I have found that it's prepared less oily.
The quantity of food being served is too low. It's true and I won't mind paying coz I visits only some 3-4 times a year. I require atleast 2 biriyanis to fill, instead of usual 3/4 or 1 portion.
Food- 4.5 ( low quantity only reason for .5 reduction)

I would recommend to have it delivered, rather than going there.

We had heard a lot about this place. Their biryani was pretty good. Chicken starters were also good. We had chicken 65 and pepper chicken fry. Its a small place though. Good decent food.
One of the most famous non-veg hotels in the city. A lot was on mind and it was surprising to see it. About the taste, I personally felt that the rate here is a bit costlier than you'd expect the taste you savour.
They are famous for their biryani .i had the chicken biryani.its yellow in colour and doesn't have much spices and has quite big chicken pieces .the flavour of the biryani is very mild hence it doesn't overwhelm you like the other biryanis .so you can just keep having enough of it .
The kadai too was really good .
You can definitely try it once .

I happened to visit this place recently with my family for an early dinner and we weren't sure if the food was ready at 7pm.They have two dining space,one on the ground floor which is normal and the other one is air conditioned on the first floor.On enquiring they said yes the food is ready.It is one narrow dining area which can accommodate 34-36 people.
First we ordered few starters naming Mutton Nenjukari and Chilly fish-boneless.The mutton was so delicious and I have never had something like this in the recent past.The meat was flavoursome and I would highly recommend this if you are looking for a good mutton starter.Chilly fish was succulent and a light marination over it definitely gave a great taste.
Next we readily ordered for Mutton Biriyani,the rice gets in through you a like a melting butter and it stands apart from other Biriyani varieties.Prepared from their in house secret recipe,it is quite unique in taste.
We also tried Chicken keema dosa,the stuffing was filled with shredded chicken in a semi spicy flavour served with chutney and gravy.
Service was quick and friendly.If you are in the hunt for best Biriyani places,it is definitely a place to visit for Biriyani lovers!
I have heard a lot about this hotel for its tasty non veg dishes. But was able to visit only during this pongal time after a movie with my friends. Was mindblown with the briyani's taste which was served around 4 pm. Was so tempted and had one more serving. Also enjoyed Mutton thalacurry and chicken fry. Its slightly higher in pricing but worth it. Service is good and ambience is okayish.
This place is not so good option for dine in.. take away option is best if you live nearby... Mediocre Biryanis... there are many other places where you get good biryani.. Koyla would be an option when you are restricted to cidco area...
Otherwise there are many good other options for biryani lovers!!
Biryani without the overdose of masala which makes it unique and tasty... To have it with the raitha and salna makes it the best biryani in town and don't miss the pepper chicken and kothu kari here
Arguably the best biriyani hotel in town, been there 1000 since I was no longer than a bow truckle. After the sad closure of legendary Angannan Biriyani Hotel this hotel serves the biriyani thr was served there. Love this restaurant a lot and a must try restaurant in town for a biriyani lover.
First time here!!! Very satisfied... The Parotta is a must try here... Biryani is homely well cooked with limited masala. Pepper chicken was also awesome!!!

They say never judge a book by it's cover. In this case never judge a restaurant by it's rating. I would have surely given a pass to this restaurant (based on the rating) but thanks to my friend who insisted that I have the biryani here, and glad I did. We ordered Chicken Biryani.
It had a different flavour, quite distinct from the other biryanis i had in CBE. This was less spicy and more on flavour. Yes it was little oily, but hei indulgence is good once in a while. Chicken pieces, although small, but given generously.
We ordered Mutton Kothu Kari fry. It was minced lamb meat preparation. I must say it had quite a punch in it. It was spicy. It was more on the green chilly spice instead of the red powder spice. Enjoyed it thoroughly. :)
One must try this place to have a different kind of Biryani Experience.
The Biryani is good, not oily like in some places. The other items are just so so. The quantity is quite less and one needs to have two plates to be satisfied.
Best biriyani in Coimbatore, 45 years experience is true, really superb.

Their Biriyani is mild in Masala's and great in taste. Side dishes can improve. I had Chicken 65 in which a few of the pieces were hard.

A biryani joint offering a unique style and taste of biriyani, that you'll either love or hate. Some items like the majira chicken and chicken roast are must try. specials. They even offer Masala tea, pudding etc that are uncommon for a restaurant serving only biriyani. Overall a favourite spot for people like me who love this style of biriyani.

Mutton Briyani was awesome in taste. They are maintaining tastes over decades. Side dishes are also good. No meals during lunch. Ambience is low. A must visit place for Briyani lovers. Rated ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ for their Briyani

Good and hygiene food delivered here, as it holds the reputation for the long time. But my suggestions are to reduce the price of the items or to increase quantity for that price. Many other restaurant provide same level of authentic food at low rates. So please consider that.

The Only Biryani Outlet which can match taste with our old VH Road Old Angannan Biryani. I Heard that the owner was the previous chef of the Angannan Biryani Hotel.
