Worth the penny spent. I would definitely rate this as a boon to foodies out here at Coimbatore. Sumptuous food served with absolute amazing ambiance. You get a host of choices right from the Starters up to desserts. Cheers GOS team thanks that you are here. A must visit family joint.
Amazing food, one of the best in the city. Lot of menu's.
Amazing food, love the innovative dishes and the desserts are mouth watering.
must try the lucknowi murgh biriyani...my mouth just wells up,each time i think about it :-D
#Coimbatoreans, Don't miss out to try the exotic dishes at Grain of Salt! We would love to come again and try out various other specialities.
i had a wonderful evening here! food is amazing! i totally enjoyed our dinner date.
I loved the ambience and service in this restaurant. Was able to taste some great signature dishes from different places in ala carte.worth giving it a try. Had a best experience
with my family there. Cuisines are worthy the money. Expect more dishes in dessert.overall enjoyed it.....
Had been to GoS with family last week and had a wonderful experience. Enjoyed the hospitality and food ( we were veg ). Great that they suggested some lovely choice which were too good.
All of us enjoyed well.
The ambiance was great..
Had a family dinner of 20 people on the 20th Jan. Extremely happy with the entire evening. The food was amazing especiallt the raan, prawn starter and allepy fish curry. Will defenitely be back again.
This being a Sanjeev Kapoor restaurant, we wanted to try it out. Fancy food, fancy name. But, over priced. Good ambience. You could try it out of you've just got your salary!
WHEN my friend asked to try out the place as his wedding is happening in thier hall, I was excited for two reasons, one the name and other it was Sanjeev Kapoors restaurant. Well the excitement was not in all happiness as I had a bad experience with his chennai restaurant which is now closed - yellow chilli.
Am welcome drink was served as soon as we entered with pappads to follow. Tasted good. We started with a chicken hot and sour which was a bit sweet and sour 😂 but tasted good.
The on banana leaf was perfectly yum 😀. Yup I loved sea food at a restaurant... hurray 🤑. Then followed Mr nut chicken. Again a yum dish, the nuts were well blended with the chicken and the dry baked noodles was a great companion.
The disappointment was the thaalaseri briyani. The base layer was missing and it lacked whatever a briyaini should have. They gave us separate gravy after we told them the issue and it was sorted.
The pinocolada was yum too, one of the well made mocktail I have had.
To end it we had a dessert, gulab ke gulkand. It had a gul kand filling in the center. The mix tasted great.
The food is good and ambience too, but service and delivery speed have to step up. Unlike the other reviews I dint find it extremely bad.
Hope to try other dishes next time, an interesting menu list indeed.

This place is just adjacent to the rto office. They have an underground car parking facility
The place is small but has a neat ambience
They serve authentic north indian food along with pizzas and pastas
The service is good
It is slightly overpriced
They serve a good quantity
The taste is good however not great
Vfm: 3.4/5
In crisp : Wow experience.
Been there with family for the first time on Sunday evening. Most of them screw it up. But this was exceptional.
Ambience was good. My son loved it with the aquarium.
Menu : Chef provided his valuable suggestion as per our liking. From indian to continental to oriental.
Compliment snacks was mouth watering. Infact we asked for another plate.
Served food on time. Quantity was much more for the tummy.
So we were pushed to a scenario, where we were not able to taste their deserts.
Finishing touch : Mouth refreshner was unique which we could only identify something mint..
Everything A++.
Went there for dinner as a last minute option. It should have been 10.40 PM ++ when we entered. They were actually packing and ready to leave. The last set of diners were finishing their meal. They offered to serve us and never thought it to be one of our best dinners.Â
The meal was very simple, staters, rotis. subzis and briyani. But, it really was great food, excellent hospitality and too good an ambiance. The owners(the entire family), who were about to leave, stayed back and ensured that we were served properly and was able to see the passion they had for this business, although they were new to this trade.
A really heartwarming experience and would really rate it as one of my best dinners, simple though.

food at grain of salt is good but when it comes to service it was very bad.Ambience 4.5/5Food     4/5Service   2/5.
Good ambience... Tastes awesome.. Mr. Mark helped us find new dishes and served us well.. grilled peper fish turned out to be my favorite.. gulab jamoon with Gulkand was a new dish to taste. will visit again..
Visited this place with family and friends. Very good ambience and decor. Very tasty food and prompt service. The personnel suggested some really good dishes and their relish with papad was so good that they had to replace it because we had finished it before the starters had come in. Overall a very good experience. Will visit again.

They are inspired by Sanjeev Kapoor but they haven't brought out their inspiration... But too the food is good there . Plz do improve the taste. Add dishes to the menu also. That's what we customers can say.
We went for a Team lunch to Grain of Salt. One of the best place to have party in Coimbatore. The food is tasty and satisfying with good quantity and quality.Excellent ambiance and the service is also good.
Reasonably priced... Food is good esp non veg but veg stuff is not so great... Good service... Nice place to host small parties... The Mughlai biryani is awesome here
Menu card itself spoke volumes of variety of dishes. Ambience and food was great. Only thing need a heavy wallet. Location was a bit messy.!
Excellent food, wide menu. We started with greens of cream & tomato soup which were good. House garden salad, aloo nazakat, Haripa paneer all were very good, paneer was outstanding. Shyam savera , black daal & rotis all perfectly cooked. Should go for this one.
It's a paradise for foodies. I was skeptical about the food and taste but fortunately it didnt disappoint me.
Had the best malai kofta in tomato gravy in my life. Amazing preparation with pefect proportion of spices.
To start off, its quite a difficult place to find ,but they're trying hard to make it visible on the go. Moving on, the ambiance is a class above the rest, the music they play is also good. Though the food takes a long time to arrive, the taste is exemplary and presentation is fantastic. Definitely worth a try if you want a mix of multiple cuisines under one roof
Completely awesome experience. The tacos they serve is the BEST of its kind. And the lemon grass chicken is amazing. Overall every dish the serve is unique. Excellent ambience and excellent service.
😎
There is nothing much about the ambience that's worth mentioning. The food tastes good but is a little overpriced.Decent service.Overall its an ordinary Fine-dine.

Haven't tried their buffet yet, Would wanna try that very soon, except the last time all the visit ended up with good experience, I am happy all my family visits have been a good experience here.
We went recently for a friend's treat! I would give a rating of 3.5..the ambience was good...the service was excellent...the food was not bad...we had the chicken roast pizza which I liked a lot and the quantity was good.we had chicken satai and shredded lamb for starters of which the lamb was really good, with a perfect crunch! The biriyani was bad..not the kind a south Indian and a die-hard biriyani fan like me would enjoy. The nasi goreng was not bad..and the naan and butter chicken were okay! On the whole it is a good place to hang out with friends and family!
Chef Sanjeev kapoor's restaurant in Cbe 😮 so we thought of giving a try n forgot to click pics caz of the taste of the food :) very good ambience n gives u a pleasant feeling to be in.. We ordered chicken Satay - chicken was juicy and the peanut touch to it made it more yum
Then we ordered bread basket in which they served 6types of roti n each was unique in taste n roti wer soft too
Chicken chettinadu curry - curry tasted typical chettinadu style n the spices were cooked well
Fish tikka masala - a good choice of curry and the fish was also cooked well
Veg fried rice - was another good choice of ours, the taste was good and the crushed pepper added more flavour to the rice
Overall a good choice of ours n want to try their buffet .. Will hit soon
Finally a great buffet in city
Great location nice menu very very friendly staffs. Good place for foodie chettindau biriyani was good and the dum chicken biriyani was too good.
Good starters than the main course actually
But very disappointed with dessert though
One of the best food outlets in coimbatore. The alfredo pasta is my favourite and way different and tasty from any other place that provides pasta in coimbatore. For cheese lovers this is your destination to have the yummiest chilli cheese cakes...cheese cake with orange chilli toppings is the best treat to your taste buds...

Went with my parents yesterday. Blindly went in, my father wanted a buffet but I would have preferred alcatraz. The buffet needs great attention in terms of dishes and taste. But the signature dishes from the alcatraz was the best thing. The grilled fillet fish just bowled me over. The food didn't cause any health concerns. It is a winner. They told that Sanjeev Kapoor might drop by someday. Looking forward.
Grain of salt is a fine dine and we all know it's a franchise from chef Sanjeev kapoor, but was surprised when found they serve a decent buffet lunch for INR 395/- went for a Sunday lunch the restaurant itself has two floors;first floor for Al la carte and 2nd for the buffet we went straight to the buffet Hall; The ambience as expected was a standout seating's were comfortable with proper distance between tables. Was surprised to see only two other tables occupied but came to know that most customers are preferring Al a carte than buffet and the restaurant below was quite full.
They had a good spread of dishes which included two soups roasted carrot and chicken spinach both tasted average; four salads again one was chicken four starters that included veg balls, pepper vegetables, chicken methi kebab and chettinad fried chicken in which the veg balls and chettinad fried chicken tasted out of the world it made us repeat the starters and the servers were very friendly and they were quick in refilling the spread and always ready to assist us.
The buffet covered a good variety of gravies too which had chicken dum ka murgh, fish garlic gravy, paneer kaliya and alappey veg curry; biriyani served here is not the best but it tasted different and the pieces were juicy;veggies have veg pulav which I dint try but it doesn't matter because they also serve naan and rotis on plate on request accompanied with there spicy fish and chicken curry it was rather a treat to taste buds we also ordered some mock tails to wash down the heat and the dessert with malai peda, moong dal halwa, paal paayasam and ice-cream left us completely satisfied.
The taste here is outstanding and this takes a place in our list of favourites in CBE,we made our mind to hit this place often and try there Al a carte which attracted more crowd.

We went on a Saturday afternoon not much crowd surprisingly. Decided to order the food instead of the buffet. The starters were really tasty. We ordered baby corn fries, paneer sandwich kabab, chicken tempura and seer fish fried in pepper. The quantity was pretty decent too.The baby corn and chicken tempura are a must try.The pizzas were decent too but nothing spectacular.Do try out the Lawrence road kababs. The only let down was the Hyderabadi ghost biryani. The desserts were ok. Overall a very good place the highlights are definitely the starters. They also have pastas, oriental cuisine and chettinad style dishes. Its a bit expensive like all the good places in Coimbatore.
First off, I regret not taking any pictures. It had to do with the staff serving us the food. Anyhow, there's always another time.
So I've been meaning to go to this place for quite sometime and after my friend had gone there a bazillion times, we decided that we would have her birthday lunch there itself.
Now, we went on a Monday afternoon, so we had the whole place to ourselves. Yes, it was empty sans the management. We chose a nice well-lit spot and got seated. Before I get to the food, I'd like to talk about the ambiance. Well, there was light music being played, if I was right. And the place is big with neatly arranged and well spaced tables. The deco is good and doesn't really clash with anything. Overall, it's an eye-pleasing deco.
Okaay, so the menu is a mix of North Indian, Chetinadu, Italian, Oriental and Continental. And since we weren't all that hungry we decided to pick things that we could easily finish.
For starters, we ordered
Nicely done up place, only problem would be personal space when Restaurant is full because of spacing between tables.
Food was excellent though slightly high on oil. Unlucky that we reached at 10.15pm and last order goes at 10.30.....
Service was good. Will definitely recommend it to all and am looking forward to a long lazy dinner.....
FOODGASM.
Amazing dishes, amazing service mind blowing taste. Don't miss Shaam Savera, the curry is simply brilliant. Taste appeals both young and old.
This is going to be my all time favourite buffet restaurant in Coimbatore! (as far as they use Sanjeev Kapoor's recipe) Believe it or not, unlike other restaurants, they have concentrated more on the buffet food much so that it tasted like al-a-carte food! It was that great.
Pumpkin soup tasted different and special, Malai kofta was at its best, tadka dhal was amazing and we tried that with rice for many rounds..
We also tried an alacarte menu - stuffed aloo, that was lip smacking experience.
It will be great if the management opens a branch in Chennai too!
Awesome hospitality and the food for my hunger was not satisfied but food for my soul was expempleted and an nice time to feed your soul....!!!!
Great food and very hospitable.. Must try dishes meze Platter, veg hara kabab, chicken wings. In main course try chicken tikka masala and butter chicken..
The place still hasn't picked pace. On a Sunday night, they had a partially filled restaurant. And that in no way does justice to this place. The menu is amazing. It covers Chinese, Continental, Italian, Mexican, Thai, South Indian & North Indian cuisines. You ll never run outta options. Paneer tikka is outta the world. Try the cheese cake. Yumm. Thoroughly enjoyed the service.
The food here is tasty and the ambience is also good was just a little disappointed with the service but they were friendly though; I would not mind visiting this place again..initially when look at the menu I felt a little expensive but then after having such good food I felt it's worth every penny of it.. Initially what ever we asked they said it isn't available but later they managed to give what ever we asked.. I absolutely loved the food.. A must place who wants to experience a different range of food..
Grain of salt gives you a great experience with food .. Having a franchise of chef Sanjeev Kapoor in Coimbatore is something really great ..
Well if we come to food and from a point of view from a vegetarian I was really happy with food .. Lala mussa dal is one the best dal I have ever had .. Pizzas are really tasty . Pesto Alfredo was mouth watering.. And quantity wise yes you guys are doing a great job... Chilli cheese cake was surprising desert .. All I want to say is I will come back again .
Great ambience! Great food! Great service! The dal was aromatic, the chicken pepper fry lip smacking and the chicken varuval tempered and flavoured with distinctive spices....all in all a thoroughly enjoyable and invigorating experience. Sanjeev Kapoor's flag, no doubt, is sure to be kept flying high!
The approach to the restaurant could be improved and the signage more visible.
Khana Khazana comes to Coimbatore!
Master Chef Sanjeev Kapoor's Grain of Salt is a gateway to have good food.
The place is a little difficult to locate as the signage is very dull. And the locality is not apt for a brand promoted by the Master Chef.
Once you enter inside, it's a whole new world there. Looks a bit of luxury dining!
Welcome drink for all. The place is quite big but over-seating has cramped up the space. The ambiance is perfect: well-illuminated & decorated.
The food is really good. The starters just fill you. Tried the crispy Baby Corn - perfect! The quantity is good enough for 4 people. The platter was also good too.
Mains had a different class of taste. Though not much choice for veggies, the Jhalfrezie was tasty & spiced up a bit. Tikkas were perfectly grilled - do try them :)
The breads were so filling that I felt bad I couldn't eat more - Poor me :(
The service was really quick & good. But the good part is they sought feedback regularly about the dishes for improving the taste.
Pricing is not too high as they make up in quantity - so go out there & have your taste buds feel the food with a Grain of Salt! :)
Food : Very good though portions very small for the price. Lots of options to choose from the elaborate menu.
Ambience : a bit overdone... Not a very comfortable chair to sit on.
Location: Not very easy to identify and locate. A Very average area and location for a restaurant promoted by Sanjeev kapoor. Parking can be an issue within the narrow lanes.
Service : Good service overall. But you need to give customers privacy and be available when required. Not necessarily surround them.
Overall : A good dining experience. Hope the management can look into the finer aspects to improve upon.
New restaurant in town .:) first impression is really good with the interiors. Good ambience is one +point . Coming to the food part..non veg is really delicious and worth the money . Veg food is average . Breads are below average especially naan items. Starters are a must try as they are of good quantity and equally tasty.
P.S. I've been to this restaurant the very next day of the opening. ;)
Had a fabulous experience. The place is lively and the manager was courteous to suggest an item outside the menu. The food was tasty and the staff was courteous to offer welcome drink. Hope they can come up with more options for the jain food lovers too. The food service time can be reduced.
Food is good as expected.. In vegetarian tasted there speciality dal, biryani, jalfarezi and special onion chilli chapatti. It was too yummy.
Nice sitting area with car parking just need to trained there waiter a bit as many are ameture.
It's always been a pleasure to dine here, sumptuous food served well.
Great ambiance, good music. I just love this place.
I am a foody and i loved this place, don't expect standard coimbatore taste, waiting is expected as food is freshly prepared. Nocrowds, pricing is okay in terms of quantity
Great food and even greater service. Never expected such humble and dedicated service from such a renowned restaurant.

It was an awesome experience. Food tastes so delicious and unique. Also the quantity was sumptuous.
Great food. Just dunno how they offer it pretty cheap! Must visit if in Coimbatore.
I am a good friend of Karthi, The food was very tasty and the ambience was quite appreciative. Lots in the Menu.
Nice place to take snacks
Very excellent ambience, service and food. The taste is very good withless oil
ambience is very good with nice varieties of food..most of the items we had were superb..
Hall is good for a family or a Official get together with a quite and nominal rate.. Has a good parking facility..
Food like nowhere else in coimbatore.. Truely amazing. Proud to have grain of salt in my city
Good Place to finding the very good service but little bit rampage is around that area.
