There's no place better in the town for kerala food. Beef roast and porotta combo is a must try and I am addicted to it. Good food for reasonable price.
The food was tasty and delicious.while regarding the packing was satisfactory.i Hope they havent added too much of colours to the dish and that's good. I Ll look forward for more menus.
The food quality was awesome. The service was good...most of em are in kerla style so you might love it or hate it...but overall the quality was awesome..
We had almost all the meals of the day during our 1day stay at gandhipuram, coimbatore. A clean, tidy, reasonably charged place in the area. It provides a wide variety of dishes with a fast service. Specially loved the parota with chettinadu chicken. Yet the biriyani was very average and not recommended.
Real malabari restaurant which serves flaky kerala parotta ,trivandrum chicken fry ,beef roast and other kerala traditional cuisines. Good service and pocket friendly too.

Authentic Kerala cuisine..had beef Biriyani, with prawns and fish fry.. overall ambience of the place is good.. service is quick..I feel the menu is a bit overpriced..
Kerala everything. The Meen(fish) curry is authentic af; it's no different from what I get at home. So, for all you non malayalees looking to get some God's own country food, this is the place to go.
Specialties: I. cannot. stress. this. enough. GET THE KALLUMAKAI(mussels) FRY. It's not as good as the Kannur stuff, but go for it.
Karimeen fry is also nice.
The place is a little pricey but definitely worth it.
Mallu shop in every nook and corner makes a mallu feel home away from home ! Service was quick. Waiters were friendly. Food was good. Price was right on !
Definitely a place which has come down on its quality. Management has to seriously check what their staffs are doing. I feel their staffs are spoiling the name what this hotel made down the year.
Malabar biriyani still one thing to go here for. BIRIYANI still tastes awesome.
Oh how I love this place. If Im at Gandhipuram, and I crave for those yummy Kerala Porottas, then I definitely wouldnt think twice. Malabar Restaurant is for sure going to be my only choice :)
I love everything they serve here..their Biriyanis, their Porottas, their curries, Appams..all are amazing :)
Try it to know it better ;)

Once upon a time this was a one busy place for all Mallus, everyone's meeting place and the food they served was very delicious, It was very hard to get even a table when you go there. They served great foods then. I would have visited more than 30 times here for sure. but their standard & taste in food came down last few years. My previous 4 visits didn't end up well, i was really unhappy for a restaurant who served such great food had come down so bad in quality & taste.
Recently i had a visit, Biriyani did taste good like their olden days, this place need to bring back their old charm. They badly need to improve their service.
I am rating them high for their great old days & for my last visit serving me with good biriyani which made me think of their old good days.
I went to this restaurant for the first time 6 years ago. there was no grill chicken that time. ;) :D
I used to have Matta Ari - Brown Rice with Chicken 65 or Mushroom chilli. Boiled properly to its temperature. - Good for health and digestion. Gives full energy.
Recently, about 3 weeks ago i went fully drenched in rain, to have dinner.
Grill chicken was served with Mayonnaise. Awesomeness was to its peek.
Mayonnaise served its purpose even with Dosa and Parotta.
Finely Grinded Tomato Chutney gave its best combined with Dosa. (totally Crumbly).
Malabar Biriyani - typical layered authentic luscious Biriyani - with chicken and egg goes along with the above dish.
With Chill weather outside and Hot black tea - a perfect blend for the dinner. Finishing touch was great. good for digestion too.
Recently i had Chilly mushroom. They use colour for chilly items and may be ajinomoto too. But I told them to avoid both and finally the dish was very tasty and appealing to eyes.
I wont suggest appam here, as recently it was not upto their native styled Paalappam.
Taste and food quality 4.5/5
Ambiance - 3.5/5
Hospitality - earlier it was good. now it is pathetic. 2.5/5.
Overall 3.5/5
Cost Approx for 2 - Rs.400
Ideal place for family dining. and must try place for Malabar/Kerala Food lovers.
Malabar good food @ God's Own country's 'cuisine :)
