As a coimbatorian this place stay my forever favourite. Food tasted so good . Ghee roast is must try .
Don't order through Zomato ...they are higher cost per item than dining...ex...lemon savai at restaurant 48 rs...but in Zomato it is 58+ delivery and service charge
The taste of the food provided is awesome. The quantity and quality is really good. The packaging of food was really good. The best food I’ve ever tasted is the lemon sevai.
They serve best south Indian veg meal in Coimbatore and nobody can serve food with such a good quality and service in entire Coimbatore for which they are serving for more past 5 decades.
The name says it all. And the locality is a great positive due to the busy market area around and it is almost always occupied 100% any time of the day. Their dosas and other south indian signature dishes along with sambar tastes wonderful. Their panneer kothu parotta was a wonderful dish. And so is the garlic masala dosai with its chettinad style flavors. Their paneer chettinad from the paneer side dish varieties is a must try as well. To top it off the wonderful filter coffee makes it a perfect finish. Their bakery section is good too with the soft milk bread as well as other buns and cakes. Annappoorna mysore pak ice cream was a great hit during diwali times and i am looking forward to its next edition. Highly recommended restaurant !
One of the best vegetarian hotels that serve pure and tasty foods. They have Chinese, North and South indian dishes.
Also their chutneys are really good compared to other hotels in coimbatore
The restaurant gave best service ever and meals is awesome. Packaging is very much appreciable. Taste is so good as one of its ethnic kind of cooking in Coimbatore.
A really nice cosy ambience to enjoy your vegetarian true to taste delicacies. Some of the really good restaurants that have evolved out from being small ones to quite big in recent times but carrying the weight of tradition along is Annapoorna. The name is significantly connected to a Coimbatore dosa Idly patron and coffee goer. The one thing that I miss though from their menu list is a traditional coffee variety which could really help coffee enthusiasts like me have a Go.
Anyways for an out of 5

As they say,
One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well.!! Especially when u in a new city ...so a quick lunch at a place which locals say "Never goes wrong".. had an amazing lemon sevai, pongal, and khichdi with the wrap up with filter coffee..must visit if in coimbatore .all branches are same and amazing !!
A good restaurant. A famous one in CBE. Both ordering and dine in are good options for this. The taste is classic and great. Price is the only concern. Rest are fine.
Ordered 2 combos on zomato for dinner..
Beautiful packaging and good taste, although it took a very long time to get delivered.
Maintain the quality.
Parotta is very soft and nice. It was delivered very quickly too.
Packing is awesome............
And rider is very polite and nice..............
Food is also asusual very delicious........
Hope we will make another order within this week......
I would love to visit Coimbatore just for the Ghee roast 😋 and also to taste all the delicious delicacies served here. Ambiance is just fine but the taste is super good..!! Service is on point, must visit destination for every hardcore foodie 😉😍
All the annapoorna hotels one which is awesome in ambience , taste .one of my favourite ghee roast is favourite dish out there . 😋The sambar vada and curd Vara tastes yummy😋
For many years it has been regarded as the Coimbatore's identify. I've been to all of their branches and the food taste remains good. This outlet is better compared to all other outlet in terms of ambience.
I'm a huge fan of their sambar vada, ghee masal dosa and their signature coffee. The only downside is that I takes min 25-30 mins for food to arrive.
Among all the Annapoorna Hotels, this is the one which is awesome in ambience, taste and experience. Roast is the favourite dish out here.In the evening time you can also have the special roast varieties like Mushroom masala roast, Gobi Masala roast, etc., These special roasts are rich in taste and quality. The curd vada in the afternoon will be too good to have.
I'm a big fan of Annapoorna! Hands down..the best!! Had eaten in all of the branches available in Coimbatore! Pongal Vadai, Sambar idly, Ghee roast, Podi roast are some of the classics! My comfort food and hotel in the past, present and the future!

Super place for family get together
Hospitality is good
In city centre so easy access
The family dosa which I posted is around six hundred rupees and this is really cheap as it serves 10
One of the best south indian cuisines in coimbatore. Anybody can fall in love with tamil dishes when eaten from here. Each dish here is special and satisfying. Not just the food but also the coffee and the special mango milkshake. The coffee served here is the best among all restaurants in coimbatore. The ghee dosa remains a classic. This is the best place to go for tamil dishes.
We were at the outlet just of DB Road. This place is an institution with excellent service and great food with a canteen like atmosphere - which is part of its charm. The food is fantastic. The selection of chutneys is limited and they dont go by numbers but the three chutneys they serve coconut, tomato and coriander are great and their sambhar is just superlative. Hyderabadis will surely die of jealousy :).
The ghree roast is great - crispy and their rava dosa with whole peppercorns is the highlight.
I find their rose milk to be too sweet but there are enough loyal followers who wouldnt change a thing.
A must go for breakfast or lunch or dinner if you are even in coimbatore.
Great South Indian food. Clean and hygienic. Always busy but you can get your meal quickly. Sambar is very famous. Also South Indian coffee is awesome.

Pros:
Vegetarian's paradise. I have been here for countless number of times. Food quality remains the same in all their outlets. Great value for the money we pay. Service is good.
Cons:
Always crowded. Not a place to go with your girlfriend.
Must try:
Filter coffee, Sambar vada, Thayir vada, Sambar rice, Mango milk shake, Ghee podi roast, Podi idli, Meals.
Annapoorna is the age old definition of a restaurant in Coimbatore. Located on a busy Sathy road it gives a grand pleasure to see falls in the entrance. Sunday lunch is when I go there. First I tried the meals. A full mind blowing south Indian meal for less than 100 is amazing. The quality of the food differentiates it from the other restaurants across and why it has been thriving as the king over a long period of time.
The next time we ordered a North Indian dish in the form of paneer butter masala and Naan. The order took longer to arrive. The naan was little burnt on one side but the gravy was good. By the time we ordered a second helping and it arrived on the table it was more than an hour and we ate for hardly ten minutes out of it.
Anything south Indian this is the place to go. Meals being ready is served impromptu but if we are ordering something from the menu the service becomes lack lustre all of a sudden. The waiters care less about your orders and have little response on the status of the orders.

Had an amazing thali today, sambar taste is totally different from Hyderabad but it is was tasty and non spicy. Only 1 draw back in this thali is they don't serve puri or chapati, so I ordered kurma & parotha which was again best, v don't this kind of parotha in hyderabad. Anyways overall food was good. Hope to come back soon
Place, location and ambiance top notch. Afternoon meals epic. Nice zone for families and a perfect get together with friends. Usual Annapoorna all dishes are good here in this ganapathy branch. Breakfast time alone service is slow and lethargic. Apart from it this place is highly recommended.
I love Annapoorna dosas, as everyone in Coimbatore does.. Rajabojanam (thali) is good, but not upto the one they provided few years back.. Top veg restaurant in Coimbatore and can't find any difference in this Ganapathy branch with other branches.
Supposedly, this restaurant is the Tiffin haven of the city. It's been there for quite some time and established throughout the city. If my memory is right, this is one of the places where I started my food exploration since childhood.
It's a recently opened outlet in Sathy road with utmost visibility. Has ample space for parking.
Had Aapam-stew here. Being closer to Malabar side of the state, Kerala cuisine is on brighter side. The Aapam was super soft in the middle and crunchy on outside. The stew had blend of bland and spicy flavor. In numerous occasions, have tried their dosas, sevai, idly, coffee, etc.
Service is consistently standard. Prices have increased considerably but quality is retained.
This Annapoorna is their lastest one in the city. It has an ample parking space which most of their outlets lack. The interiors are modern and portrays a Tamil culture which is very good. Masala dosas, sambhar idlies and Filter coffee are amazing along with the traditional dishes like Paniyaram, Appam. I always love visiting this place and it's a must visit place for all non-coimbatorians.
Food- 5/5 🙏🏻
Ambiance- 4/5👍🏽
The Legendary Annapoorna. name says it all. Will remain as my favorite south indian restaurant! have great memories with this brand as each and every cbeian will have a memory etched here from his childhood days! Sambar here is masterclass and serves one of the best coffees! must try place for outsiders!
A perfect place for having authentic south indian breakfast. Just landed and visited here, had idli wada and coffee. Coffee was so pure and tasty and idli wada was so authentic with 4 chutneys (red i liked the most) and sambar was too fine. Ambaince was good but still food is very good.
One of the best masala dosa you can get in town. The place is very clean. South Indian thali is a must try if rice is in your mind. Service is below average.
Amazing masala dosas- crispy, layered with green chutney and alongside comes sambar, coconut chutney, red chutney and sweet tomato chutney. All superb!
Even better is their filter coffee but ask for separate sugar unless you have a sweet tooth.
From day1 till now I have been here, I had so many changes in me - physically but the food and the taste were always the same. If it is Veggie, then all you need to be is be here no matter what the time is. The very decent place for family outing and the bestest in town.
One of most automated Annapoorna ever. The sheer variety of sweets they have makes you mouth water. One of the best Sambar vadas in Coimbatore. Dosas are pretty good too. Great parking facility. Situated on the main road.
“Unmatchable taste !!”
I went to Sree Annapoorna, Ganpathy outlet in Coimbatore. Somehow it is not listed in Zomato.
The restaurant is located on the main road. There are ample parking space for 4 & 2 wheelers. The ambience looks rich.
South Indian cuisines are my all time favourite, hence couldn't miss the chance of trying them in Coimbatore.
I went with my office colleagues on dinner and they guided me to try some of the best preparations in this restaurant.
We ordered Rava Dosa, Capsicum Dosa, plain Dosa, Masala Dosa, Appam, vada, filter coffee, icecream brownie dessert. There were all possible kinds of chutneys with all these dishes and of course the tasty sambhar. Although I had heard a lot about the great taste of sambhar served here, I didn't find it too great. But this doesn't deter me from visiting this place again. All the dishes were lip smacking and seemed to be prepared in ghee.
The only problem we faced was that there were no one to attend us. There was a guy who noted our orders every time and never came back. The place wasn't even crowded that time , so they could have given attention to us. When we ordered second round of sambhar ,after repeated reminders the waiter got it for us but by then we had finished our food.
There is a sweets counter at the entrance. People with sweet tooth, I am sure you can't resist from trying them.
There is a small pan shop outside the restaurant. I tried the pan/beeda , trust me it was too yummy.
Overall it was a great place to be there. Thanx to my friends who made this trip a success. I would love to have food here when I visit Coimbatore next.
Ultimately one of my favorite and most repeated restaurant near my home. They have their own trade mark and maintain their quality till date. Filter coffee in Annapoorna's is one of the must taste hot drink. They also have special menu's everyday apart from regular south-side menu's. paal kozhukattai, paneer appam, mushroom paniyaram are few examples.
M quite regular to this place and I love the kaaju katli's and roasted cashew nuts from theia' sweet shop. About the restaurant, they ofcourse serve the authentic tasty Coimbatore food buh the pricing has gone up as compared to how it used to be earlier. This place is suitable both for a heavy veg south indian meal in the afternoon on a weekend and also during a weekday for a quick simple meal. Would continue visiting for sure!
Pretty large restaurant at ganapathy which is kind of a long hall with seating capacity of 70-80. Had their own car and bike parking area. Had lots of sweets at entrance it self. Sambar tastes good at all anapoorna chain.
Not the usual Annapoorna where you dine, this branch is a slightly different from the rest.A huge narrow dining space which can accommodate 100 people and the decor looks minimalistic with special quotes over the walls about Tamilnadu food culture and also interesting facts about the Ganapathy locality.
I visited here randomly for a short evening snack.Ordered some Paniyaram, vada and their day's special Paal Kozhukattai. The Paniyaram was crispy and the batter was filled with chopped veggies which gave a nice taste. The vada was good as usual. The Paal Kozhukattai was delicious with the rice balls cooked to perfection with a creamy payasam.
Service is appreciable and they have a spacious car parking too
Best and Ancient Hotel for Vegetarians.
They are fulfilling our taste buds.
U can find best South Indian North Indian and some Chinese items here.
At eve u can have good south side snack like Bajis, Bondas, Vadas, etc.
The quality, service, ambience and area are very impressive.

Tried in all outlets in CBE....!!! Best coffee best idli Sambar and best varities of dosas...!!! Real good food...!!! Tried all varities vadai, dosas, utappams, pulavs and all baths...!!!
Had been for lunch... Taste has been awesome.. People say AP has gone down on taste. But maybe its still a notch above others. Wish we couldve got Yella Saapad but was served in thali with small small katories filled.
Service was good.
Only wonder why AP does not keep tissue papers handy.. Its always hidden at the billing counter, in almost all outlets.

Been visiting this place every other time I visit my friend at Coimbatore. . This outlet opens early in the morning and the staff are well groomed and attentive and the place is neat and clean. . Information regarding various cuisines and speciality dishes of Tamil Nadu adorns the wall throughout the restaurant.
Sambhar over here is so addictive and the #Sambhar idly is a must try. Lipsmacking chilli parotta, uthappam and hot coffee from here for dinner will be the perfect way to end a day in Coimbatore.
You want traditional south Indian food? Go here! The rice and sambar if simply wow! After all, it's known for its sambar taste. I couldn't finish one full meal. They keep serving you rice and you can eat till your tummy bursts! Overall, I'll make it a point to visit here each time I come to Coimbatore.! 👌

Best South Indian meals that i have had recently in Coimbatore. The hotel that never disappoints any Vegetarian food lover. U should try from their other branches as well.
This particular branch has a good ambience n it's very economical!
Undoubtedly, One of the best places to have vegetarian food. Ambience is very good. Prices are reasonable. Overall, if you want to have a stomach-full tasty vegetarian food, This is the right place for you.
The sweets and desserts section in the entrance itself is an added advantage for the sweet lovers.
Annapoorna a good place for veg. The interior here is quite refreshing with sounds of waterfalls. The falooda here tastes best of every other places I tried so far.
The best Annapoorna outlet - it just has to be this! ❤
My favourite breakfast spot.. their yummy, fresh, healthy dishes never fail to amaze me!
Whenever I paid this place a visit, Ive always left as a content, happy customer and foodie. Their Mango Milkshake and Rosemilk are just cherry toppings to the perfect cake of a place that this spot is.
Every college student's favourite place, Im sure. And at times, u can see the whole of Coimbatore bustling here and you get no seat! Its that awesome :)
I love love love their Masala Dosa's, Puri Bhajis and Ghee roasts :) the chutneys that they serve are so fresh and full of flavor, that while I write away this review, I really would love to get a plate of Dosa from them right now :)
Try it. U would love it. Their sweets too are jus amaaazing! :)
Definite 5/5 :)
This is my third visit to coimbatore and I desperately wanted to try some authentic South Indian food.
We requested out can driver and he brought us to his place.
The ambience of the place is superb and this was almost full.
The service was very fast, we ordered for appam with stew and coconut milk. The stew was sweet in taste but was different and I really liked it.
We also ordered for a plain paper dosa and onion ravi plain dosa, both were awesome.
The sambar tasted really good but the coconut chutney was a bit disappointing.
Overall a very good eating experience, I will visit again whenever I am back
Swift service, courteous staff, goodness in taste. No wonder this stalwart stands tall! Had a great lunch with family, they loved it. The best part for me was ghee rawa masala roast and curd rice.
Definitely worth a visit if you are in Coimbatore
My In-laws house is near by this restaurant, so we ended up eating lot of times for dinner, but never disappointed.
Although the food menu and style of food is normal tamil style, they have a constant very good quality and taste.
Amazing food at affordable price.
Loved the number of optionsin meals.
The payasam was sp dwlecious that I had two additional cups.
Service is very fast and neat.
Ambiance is very good.
AC and non AC options are available.
Best place to have your breakfast, very close to the bus stand. Pongal is a must try, filled with cashew and ghee ☺️ sambar and chutney are delicious. A bit over prices though
Ambience is very gud.. priced at a bit higher side.. considering the location, this is the only gud veg restaurant available in tat locality
Love their ambience and interior design. Food is as good as it is in every Annapoorna outlet there is. They have very quick service here. Try their Masala dosa
Been here many time with team mates and also with friends. This is a pure veg restaurant. This place is located near to the main road and you also have place to park your vehicle.
This hotel looks good from the inside and outside. Great ambiance and hospitality. We ordered veg thali for every one and I must say it was amazing. The plate was filled with different types of curry. I usually won’t like veg foods but this place changes my view towards veg dishes. The waiters are always prompt; whenever you finish having something they will be ready besides you to take the next order.
I really had a great time each and every time I came here. Recommended to all.

Being born and bought up in Coimbatore.. This was my favorite veg restaurant from the day I started eating out... Very quick service... Good taste... Highly hygienic... Poori masal, masal dosa, sambar idly, parota, veg biriyani, tomato rice, meals are my favorite.... Their sambar served for dosa and idly is the best sambar I have tasted in my life... Even after so many years of existence they maintain almost the same taste.... Forgot to mention their curd/sambar vada & hot filter coffee, their sweets are also worth a try....if you visit Coimbatore don't forget to try this restaurant once....
I love the Annapurna-Gowrishankar mess. It's traditional and elegant. I was in coimbatore for 5 years with my studies and I was staying just near to the Restaurant. The ambience and service of A-G is very nice. Morning time you'll get "Sudu-sudana" hot coffees with multiple Dosa varieties. Thairu Vadai ( Dahi Vada) was my favorite and I guess 18 rupees for each plate. I was a frequent visitor of Gandhipuram ( In that time A-G had three branches in Gandhipuram). Their lunch is very famous with Rasam,Sambar,Butter milk,3 Types Vegetables, Dal,Papad, Pickles,Ghee,Masala Powder, with thick curd and Payasa. It's tremendous!!!! I still remember the meetha Sambar taste they serve with the Dosas.Lovely expirience!!
A visit to coimbatore can never be complete without having the quintessential 'nei roast' (ghee roast) at this place. Have been visiting this place from when I was small and everytime you visit, you'll be welcomed warmly by the hustle and bustle of the crowd and the warm smell of south indian food, basically the ghee! A must for anyone who is a fan of south indian food, or well, food in general.
Annapoorna is one of the few things which comes to mind when you think about Coimbatore. Their coffee is one of the best i have ever had in any other restaurant in India. Any north indian who is planing visiting Coimbatore should definitely try breakfast in this hotel to get the real taste of south indian dishes
excellent place for a perfect breakfast.given it's longevity you can some group of people come here in large groups have their morning coffee after walk ...this is a testament to reputation of this place.I was at this restaurant for breakfast. I had sambar idly and lemon sevai. Sambar idly is a must have anyone visiting this place. Lemon sevai was not great.overall I will love to come back.
A perfect place for south indian cuisines , very spacious , restaurant is well maintained hygiene wise ,though this place serves tasty cuisines but I like idili sambar here and also mushroom manchurian . if by want to experiment try mushroom Manchurian with tandoori roti it tastes awesome.
Crave South Indian food (read dosas, idlis, meal) and Annapoorna is the go to and recommended name in Coimbatore. We marked our presence this time around as well. We used to be big fan of their Chilli Parotha but this time around we didn't find it just the same taste wise. However their dosas, idlis and sambhar still rules the town. More so the filter coffee.
They say, its the Pride of Coimbatore.. n its 100% true. This is the place, where you get the Best South Indian Vegetarian food in the City (ofcourse, one such place in the whole of TN). Whenever I travel to Coimbatore, I have always been here, feasting atleast once during the visit.
I can say that, their Sambar is the Best in the World n I use to claim this proudly whenever I dine in any other restaurants (even at the likes of Saravana Bhavan or Ratna Cafe, in Chennai.)
My favs are Masala Dosa(Best one, I've ever had), Sambar Idli(whatever they make with that awesome sambar, turns awesome too).
I personally wish, whomsoever visits Coimbatore in their lifetime, should eat in the Sree Annapoorna Sree Gowrishankar hotel(anywhere in Cbe. coz this chain of restaurants is in all prime places). :D
Who doesnt know sree annapoorna sree gowrishankar?its famous all over coimbature and they are best known for their tiffins.there tiffins are very good and i really loved their onion uttappam.its a must try if you are in coimbature.
A high class vegetarian restaurant serving lip smacking food of all varieties ranging from south Indian snacks to North Indian. Food is hygenically prepared. The huge crowd thronging the place shows its popularity. We had some good food . Service is good combined with moderate prices. They have separate counter for sweets and savouries. Their sweets are popular.
I had the chance to visit Sree Annapoorna at Ganapathy sometime back. I ordered a dosa during my visit. Their service was fast. Even though the restaurant was busy, the order reached my table in under a few minutes. The dosa with sambar and a variety of chutneys tasted good. The restaurant also has a pastry, sweets, and savory store at the entrance. There's ample parking space adjacent to the restaurant. If you are looking for vegetarian food in the area, you could try this restaurant.
Quality vegetarian restaurant in Ganapathy area, near to Prozone mall
Location - in Sathy road, at the FC godown corner in Bharathi Nagar, a km to mall.
Food - All items ordered are tasty and nice, be it paper roast, curry, side dishes or meals 👍
Ambience - Decent ambience, all tables are put in a big hall set up -
During peak times you may find it annoying as people keep crossing you in all sides 😀
Another Funny part is if you are only two, you may have to sit with another two (strangers) in a four seat dining table 🤨
Service - The serving personnel are polite and sensitive. But during peak times it’s a bit slow and they intentionally wait to take orders to keep the momentum moderate 🙁
Prices - are reasonable for the quality and quantity
Parking - Enough space for cars on the side and two wheelers in the front side. And restrooms available.
They have a bakery setup in the front with different types of quality breads, cakes, sweets and savouries.
Enjoy your time with your loved ones here 👍
Taste is good. Price of the items are very high. Service is good. Needs to wait for the seat. Good ambience. Rest room and car parking is available.
Their special meals cost around ₹240. Unlimited special meals accompanied with soup, butter naan/Chapathi, veg biryani and white rice. Rose milk tastes good but is a bit over priced ₹70/Cup
If you are in Coimbatore Sree Annapoorna restaurant in the place to visit that you cannot miss. My second trip to Annapoorna and I was not disappointed with the quality of the breakfast. The south indian Tamil style vegetarian food is just awesome. Kudos to the team.
Whenever I cross this area i have something here. This time an early morning coffee. Authentic coffee. Earlier i have tried idly, different varieties of dosa etc. Taste of food is authentic. Cleanliness is given top priority. Service is fast and the staff are very cooperative.
Good veg food . They have AC and Non- AC section. There is no wait for the food. Have a wide range of Indian sweet options.
Parking : car n bike available
Staff : friendly
Cleanliness: Good
Wash room : Clean
Healthy food and hospitality is good with neat & clean place.
Staffs are very caring and quick response from them.
Taken lunch and breakfast which seems to be good, healthy and tasty.
Have ample space for car parking on the side of the restaurant.
They had sweets and savouries outlet also in front of the restaurant.
My favorite branch in Coimbatore. Nothing needs to be said about the food. Thanks to their centralized kitchen, the quality of food is consistent in all branches.
So it comes down to the atmosphere/ambience. Observe the art work on the walls, there you will see the history of this city.
The next best branch, in my opinion, is the one near the airport, Opposite to KMCH.
Nice experience and good food.wr have enjoyed the lunch and dinner.the quality of the food was great. however there will be waiting time for peek hours. It was worth waiting..We do visit while we are at coimbatore.

Very spacious restaurant. Ample car park. Excellent spread of sweets & Savories at separate counters.
Loved the quality of the sweets & Savories. Very polite behavior of the counter staff here is appreciable.
Restaurant staff very courteous.
Very happy with every aspect of this branch.
For breakfast and dinner a nice place to spend time with delicious taste 😄
Overall a great experience which ticked all the boxes.
Positives:
- Tasty Food (Felt better than cross cut road branch)
- Impressive Atmosphere with lot of drawings/paintings.
- Maintained very neat including Restrooms
- Huge parking space
- The Security was helpful. He was taking all the guests under an umbrella during the recent visit(rainy day) from the car parking lot.
No Negatives. Highly recommended 👍
