Fantastic view and location. Rooms are a bit dated and they seriously need to replace the old mattresses. Manager is nice once you get to know him, I think the other reviewers were too quick to judge him harshly. Food was pretty decent, and they have beer, which is always a bonus. Not noisy at night at all, all finished by 9pm in the bar.

Been there just two months back. You can find this place overpriced according to rooms ( in seasons). But if you judge based on its view and location then it's totally worthy. Each and every amenities were provided. We don't try any food here so can't review them.

We have been there few years ago. But the stay was so memorable that we discuss this every now and then. Excellent service and such a great staff. There are some songs which just take us back right to the valley facing sitting area of this hotel's restaurent where we spent a lot of time during our stay.

Stayed there for 3 nights with family in a family room which have to large king sized beds (72inch *72inch) , the room was very big with two large windows and seating arrangement of sofas. There were wooden flooring in the room but they didn't maintain the rooms well as there was damp everywhere on the wall and the ceiling as well as the bathroom. But the House keeping service was really good. The best part is the location.

Stayed there with my wife for two nights. They gave us the corner room with king size bed and two large windows with view. Polite behaviour and excellent room service. Would like to stay again.

The rooms are slightly below par compared to the rates and expectations. The beds need improvement. Else, good hotel, good location, good service - no complaints at all.

It's a hotel with restaurant and bar. Just a few minutes walk from Chowrasta. Nice place to spend a couple of hours, chatting with friends. Outdoor seating has great views. Food is ok. This place is mostly frequented by the younger generation.

I love visiting this restaurant mostly because of the views one can enjoy while eating and to taste authentic Nepali Food. I have become a regular here of late to have a nice meal with my friends and co-travellers and I love to sit outside to take in the full mountain vibes. I have been here both for lunch and dinner and I can't ever stop raving out the night time mountain views from the restaurant if you are lucky enough to get a clear weather. Most other restaurants in Darjeeling offering good food and views charge a fortune but Lion Gate's USP is that it offers the same without robbing you blind. The staff has always been nice and courteous to me and I don't remember them ever without a smile on their faces. I have seen them to be quite patient with the not-so-friendly diners too. I love the ambience of Lion Gate and it has become a must visit for me whenever I am in Darjeeling. 😊

Just look at the view from the lobby and deluxe bedrooms. Mesmerizing indeed. The lobby is the place in this hotel where you have your food or just sit around and enjoy the view. I have stayed in a number of hotels all over India but was never pleased by the service of those hotels the way the staff in this hotel served us. They are very kind and always ready to help. People in Sikkim are really full of heart!
