I really liked the food here. Their Rajasthani thali is dainty and toothy. The chicken dishes were good, however, bhuna chicken doongar is a must try. Overall visit was nice.

Very nice.
The food is tasty. The ambience is beautiful and the staff and their manners is very decent. One full thali is enough for 2 people ( in my case more than enough) but I've heard that it's no longer served there. But every item is nice. The price is high but it's okay for occasional visits.

Bursting flavor of wholesome spices. We ordered non veg thali which 2 non veg dishes and 4 veg dishes and lot more. Both veg and non veg cusine have authentic Rajasthan taste with perfect blend of flavors. Lal mans being best in non veg and besan gutta and mungodri are best in veg. This place is no less than heaven for people who crave for spicy food.
Rajasthani's!

First thing that upsets me about a restaurant is unavailability of dishes. If there are dishes that are seasonal why not mention it on the menu card or atleast tell before hand while showing the menu card. After grilling the menu card for 10-15 mins, when you come and tell "Sorry", it's actually a mood killer.
Taste wise it is fine, but not there with the typical Rajasthani flavours. Overall good to have Rajasthani flavors once in a while in dehradun.

If you are done with boiled and bland healthy food and your taste buds require a twist, a 'desi tadka', you must visit Kabila restaurant. Straight from the entry to the restaurant, you will get the good vibes of Rajasthan. People, who have visited Rajasthan can easily understand that Kabila has successfully managed to bring a slice of Rajasthan at one corner of Dehradun. Besides the beauty in ambiance, Kabila serves you with crazily authentic rajathani cuisines, Do try Laal maans and ker sangri. But, since they are very spicy, you may ask them to adjust it according to your wish. A happy spicy meal!!!

It's my family's favourite place to lunch out.We have been going dere from the time it started. The food is awesome and delicious. The Rajasthani theme gives the place an edge over the others. The service is quick and staff is humble.

The only reason I have not give it 5 stars is that the level of food has gone slightly low over the years. But Nonetheless,it's a must go place.

Being an old Doonite, I keep looking for joints nearer to Ghanta Ghar and found this one to be comparatively better placed than those coming up much further up on Rajpur Road. The ambience is good with low lighting and traditional Rajasthan decor on walls and the food served doesn't let it down either.
For starters we ordered Dahi Kabab and Irani chicken tikka (which is definitely not Rajasthani preparation) and both were fantastic. The Irani kebab simply melted in the mouth and Dahi kebab is an unusual preparation nicely done.
Akha Baingan is a nice dish with lots of masala while Gatta curry and Dal Bati are relatively standard preparations.
Though a bit expensive, it was a good outing with family. Would recommend anyone visiting Doon.

So is their Aata Chicken. This has an amazing presentation and taste too. Full of Rajasthani spices well marinated in the whole chicken.

Ohhhh I visited this restro long time back! I liked the dining and hospitality. The food is also good. It's basically famous for authentic Rajasthani but I felt specifically they are not famous for that ,but yes north Indian cuisine is okay. I ordered dal batti, khadi, gattae ki sabzi and I was satisfied with stuff. I believe restaurant is a bit overpriced but I recommend to visit atleast once and grab the experience....

Theme-    Authentic Rajasthani Setup

In a city mainly known for its cool cafes, Kabila is a trend breaker and a refreshing change.

Proudly donning the title of being the first themed restaurant in Dehradun, Kabila, which in English translates to a Tribe, is the only authentic Rajasthani restaurant in Doon serving the flavors of Rajasthan.

Ambience-   The colourful setup and the ethnic vibes of Kabila automatically transport you to the land of the Maharajas. While the interior is beautifully painted with traditional elements, the textured walls and roof give the impression of a Rajasthani hut. The antique lamps provide romantic lighting appropriate for the theme of the restaurant. From the jharokhas to the puppets, the decorative mirrors to the bright and colorful table cloth, everything about Kabila feels like Rajasthan. The rajasthani folk music that they play makes the dining experience even more memorable.

Food-    We, the Bhukkhads, had a vegetarian Rajasthani thali, laal maas and desi murga. The thali was an enticing amalgamation of vegetables, pulses, rice, flat breads and sweet dishes. Our thali comprised the following-

Moongodhi-    These were moong dal nuggets cooked in curd and spices.

Dal Panchmel-    A spicy dal cooked with five lentils in...

We passed through this restaurant on Rajpur Road. Read "Rajasthani Cuisine" and said interesting. Went back to this place. There was very welcoming valet parking. The restaurant is on first floor.

We ordered palak, baigan, moongawdhi, masala khichdi along with bajra roti and missi roti. Excellent food. Everything tasted amazing. I am already planning to go again for non veg dinner.
Service was also outstanding. The staff was humble and served us very well.

Finally got my chance to go to this restaurant on a casual dinner with a friend. Let me begin with my review.

Ambience - brings you closer with probably a desert like luxurious surroundings with the folk songs of Rajasthan being played bringing you totally into the place. I felt the tables were a little small for my convenience.

Food - we ordered a non-veg dish with the usual naans and mocktails. The chicken was really well-served and was deliciously soft to eat. My appetite was happy. Mocktails were upto the mark.

Service - Timely service and well-informed waiters. They were fluent with the menu and what was good, so newbies like us felt at ease. The manager in-charge was friendly and courteous. Ironically most restaurants don't "serve", but they did. I was reminiscing my Mumbai days to an extent.

All-in-all it was a good experience. Will try their popular Rajasthani thaali someday.

Zomato is such a blessing, particularly in new cities. The last day we were in Dehradun, and instead of bothering people, I simply Zomato-ed places which served North Indian food. This is how we landed up here soon after we'd gotten off our train.

The first thing which caught my attention were the elaborately done interiors. Everything, from the walls and the ceiling to the tablecloth, had been fashioned with Indian motifs. Unfortunately, they had switched on a terrible news channel on the tv which ruined the feel of the place.

For food we had a typically Punjabi fare-- we had Paneer Kadahi se, Dal and Tandoori Roti. I loved the dal, but the rotis could have been sifter. The Kadahi Paneer was well done.

The staff was courteous and the service was fairly quick. But I felt that the food could have been better given the prices they were charging, not that the food was deficient in any way, but it could have been refined further.

Then, I was quite impressed with the delicious assortment of mouth fresheners they brought us after our meal.

Last but not the least, the washroom was impeccably clean and that fetched them another brownie point.

I am not a great fan of Rajasthani food and had it not been my friend's birthday party, I would have never visited this place. This place has nice ambience but it is not quite visually appealing. I am told that this is the first theme restaurant of Doon. So big thumbs up for being pioneer.
Moving to food it is good. We had chicken Irani tikka, chicken jaisalmeri tikka and paneer kesari tikka and atta chicken in appetisers. For main coursd we ordered safed chicken, murg maharana, doongar chicken and laal maans (red meat) and paneer lababdar with butter naan. They use typical rajasthani flavors and hence it's spicy. You should ask them for mellowing down the food if eating spicy food is not your ball game. Everything was really good. I love their presentation. They place smoking charcoal in the dish, in front of you and cover it with foil to give it smoky flavor and also to engage customers. However safed chicken was not that great. It had this raw floury taste and also not as flavorful and spicy like other dishes.
This place is neat and clean and servers are attendinga and cordial. It is a task to bear 15 college goers :p
Overall I had a really good time there. If you visit this place then you must have atta chicken, it's their speciality and is one of its kind both from the view point of aesthetics and taste.

Kabila, okay. The ambience is decent, with the interiors developed to portray Rajasthan culture, and I have to say that the décor really gave the Rajasthani vibe.

The staff were really efficient and I had no qualms with the service.

Coning to the food, we had Jeera chicken, Laal Maans, Biryani, naan and some mocktails.

The Jeera chicken has a taste developed from a foundation which just cannot go wrong. It was fab. The Laal Maans and Murg Biryani really satisfied me. The raitha served with the Biryani complemented it really well. The butter naan, no problems again.

I'm a little disappointed with my Italian smooch mocktail, yes Italian smooch, it just tastes like the virgin drink which they serve in KFC. Maybe my expectations were higher.

Overall, it was a decent experience, and I feel Kabila is a wonderful option to dine with your family, friends or even with a close mate. I'm hoping to try the authentic thali the next time I'm around.
Cheers!

Most of the rajasthani thali chains that I have frequented serve only vegetarian cuisine. However this place has an option for both Veg/ non veg thali as well as Ala carte fare. The non veg is predominantly punjabi rather than Rajasthani. The kebabs are delicious. Highly recommended is the Atta Chicken (marinated whole chicken enveloped in dough and then cooked in a tandoor). The Dungar ka Chicken is also good and is given an unique smoky flavour by placing a smoking charcoal inside the dish. Lal maas is also on offer, though I have not tried it. A three course meal for a family of 4 should be in the range of Rs.1500/-. The interiors are pleasing with typical rajasthani decor as is generally seen in such theme restaurants. Good place to visit though on a slightly costlier side.

The outside facade is that of a bank and leaves one wondering about the restaurant experience. Well, the staircases don't disappoint you with the 'Rajasthani' artifacts. Well, the interiors too have been given the very feel and look. The stewards look the bit. Umm, the thali with all the bits of Rajasthan did have flavours of the state but felt it lacked the soul of authenticity. Surprisingly, the chicken malai tikka was very unique and worth the mention. Worth a visit once, but restaurants don't work without repeat customer base. So, you wish to try the cuisine let's say the 4th time, well, you have the palate.

If there is daal, baati, churma on your mind, then this is THE (only) place to be in Doon. It has a beautifully done Rajasthani themed interior which will give you a feeling of being in Rajasthan with bright colors all over, camels on the wall and sand effect on the ceiling.
There is a lot of variety in both Rajasthani and North Indian food, but I thought of having their authentic Rajasthani thali and their Signature veg platter. The thali was very good in taste, specially the churma and it is enough for two.
The veg platter, though a little overpriced compared to the quantity served, was the tastiest that I've had till date.
They are also offering Navratra Thali thesedays.
Thus, a must-visit place :)

So this place is really good with the typical rajasthani authentic ambiance. For my starters I had Paneer Sulay and Shahi Bharwa Tangri which was really good.I went here with a few of my vegetarian and non vegetarian friends, I had heard a lot about their atta chicken so the we ordered that and it was really moist and had the smoked flavour and typical rajasthani taste while my vegetarian friends ordered themselves the veg thali the thali was not at all at par the dal bati chokha was okay and the kar sangri tasted a bit stale to me . So it  was disappointment for my vegetarian friends but all the non vegetarians loved the delicacy.

Queen of the cuisine

Lack of good Rajasthani cuisine serving restaurants in Dehradun made me skeptic about this place. Being fond of Rajasthani dishes, my expectations remain high and not even a single place in Dehradun could meet them, until now. Undoubtedly, Kabila is the queen of Rajasthani restaurants in Dehradun. Although it serves other north Indian dishes, but obviously the USP is its Rajasthani taste and feel. The ambience gives you a perfect experience of dinning in Rajasthan. Not only the taste, but the presentation of food is very authentic. I ordered ‘lal maans’ and ‘dal baati churma’, both were traditionally cooked and served. Lal maans was spicy as it should be, dal baati was served with ample amount of ghee and churma was aptly sweet. Besides the main course a wide variety of beverages are also available to choose from. In conclusion, this place is a must visit for Rajasthani food lovers and dal baati churma is highly recommended.

We ordered chicken curry and lal maas  and a veg starter(made from potatoes but i forgot the name !), starter and curry were good to eat so was lal maas, but it wasnt a traditional laal maas which you get to eat in Rajasthan, it  was more towards mutton rogan josh or curry!

Keeping all the things aside, being a Rajasthani, and going to eat in a 'an authentic rajasthani cuisine' restaurant I was really delighted when I went here. The interiors are authentic rajasthani and the ambience reflects of a rural rajasthani decor. I was attracted towards the calm and sophisticated environment.
Coming to the food, I straight away ordered a rajasthani thali which includes 9 dishes and 2 rotis and a baati and papad and what not. It was presented really well and looked really delicious. Seeing the Kair Sangri dish took my heart away as it is one of the most authentic dish of the rajasthani culture, but it was not prepared the way it usually is. Well the thali was good but not worth 500 bucks (taxes excluded). I would pay 350 -400 for this thali.
The fruitpunch mocktail was really refreshing.
It was a well established thali, but lacked certain things that a rajasthani food lover can easily point out.
overall it was a 3.5/5 for me.

The only rajasthani restaurant in dehradun and probably worth going. The ambience is soothing .
The kabila signature non veg platter is too good :-)
There are few dish which are below expectation level but overall a must visit place.

Dehradun does not have many fine dining options to be honest. But Kabila is one place that understands that having a theme-related decor, good light and music, polite and prompt service and authentic food is what makes a restaurant worth a second visit. Rajasthani food here is awesome, specially non-veg items. Lal maans and jeera chicken are my personal favourite. There is a lentil soup on the menu clubbed with other regular soups and just to check what it was, I ordered it. It turned out to be daal ka paani, with a spoonful of rice with a hint of lemon and ghee. It seemed like an insane idea to me, but believe me, even that was delicious. Do try the mattar halwa in desserts -- it is just awesome. Kabila gives a 10-15% discount to defence people, which makes it our personal favourite :).

I thought nestling in the mountains back home would keep me away from Zomato but they took me by surprise with Zomato NOW in Dehradun!!! :D thanks a lot...that came sooner than expected. Rather I would say at the most perfect time when the quaint place is all arms open for fresh food (ad)ventures. Amid this bright change, I treated myself with a lavish lunch at Kabila. Contrary to the heavy exterior, I was welcomed with bright warli art on the wall as I walked up the stairs to relish myself to the taste of this aunthentic Rajasthani eatery. The colorful yet warm ambience keeps up to the name and was a delightful surprise to all my conventional fine dining experiences in Dehradun.
Me and my aunt ordered the grand veg rajasthani thali and masala chaas. We added a gatta pulao on the recommendation of the chef who was kind enough to introduce us to the platter and its preparations.
Each item on the thali was distinct and delicious - dal baati churma, kadhi, ker sangri, hare tamatar sabji, dal, sev tamatar, and much more washed down with a tall glass of masala chaas! Gatta pulao was equally well but ker sangri was the winner for me! The staff not only seemed courteous but really happy and proud of what they were serving on the platter (loved your traditional attire).
It was a pleasant experience, I would love to revisit. On our way back home, we also bought some sangri from the mandi :)

PS: duh! Camera misses good places. Pictures on next visit.

I haven’t seen a Rajasthani restaurant as authentic as Kabila in Dehradun or rather say that I haven’t come across any Rajasthani restaurant here at all. With the hustle bustle of Rajpur road, it’s a sheer delight to enter this restaurant and find yourself in a completely different surrounding. Beautiful lamps with yellow lights and art on the wall surely give the restaurant a perfect Rajasthani feel. As far as the food goes, it’s authentic and it’s tempting. If you love Rajasthani meal, this is the one for you and I am sure you won’t leave disappointed. There’s Daal Baati Churma, there’s Gatta, there's Kair Sangri and there are many of their traditional food in the menu. We ordered Veg. Rajasthani Thali that was neatly presented and was delectable. And since it's Navratra, we got their special Navratra Thali packed for home too. Overall, Kabila is a must visit. It’s clean, very well maintained with efficient staff who made sure that we were being attended to in the best possible manner.

Tip : They offer Indian cuisine too but do not miss on their authentic Rajasthani eats.

Kabila has an ethnic Rajasthani décor and primarily serves Rajasthani food. The food is delicious and the interiors give you a great feeling. A nice family restaurant to visit specially if you love good authentic non veg. The aroma of the food make you feel more hungry. The staff was courteous and replaced a drink my kid spilled over without charges.
Only problem is they don't have proper parking but Its trivial if you really want to taste good food.

Good Rajasthani thali both veg and non veg. Service is good and homely but could be faster. Ambience is cosy with Rajasthan village and desert scenes recreated, right from floor to ceiling. Can eat in peace.

The restaurant is amazing. It's decorated wonderfully. The service needs to be improved. The kitchen’s smoke was entering the sitting area. Food was not bad but I had much better rajasthani food as compare to this.
