Very nice interior and food is just like home
Staff is very friendly
I recommend this place
It's near rail station
We tired sandwich, cold coffee, shahi panner
Loved this place๐....the ambience is really good, clean and hygenic.
You can order anything from the menu and you won't be disappointed as everything they serve is DELICIOUS....
The owner Rishi is very helpful and really good person....we went from Mumbai and didn't know anything about dehradun....he helped us with all the places we can go and told us how to go....his staff was also very friendly and helpful....
If you're on the way to dehradun....this place should be on the list..... you'll not regret....๐
P.S: Don't forget to order tea...if you're a tea lover๐
Indeed and surprisingly delicious Food that anyone cannot expect from this particular busiest location in the town. I had almost had most of the dishes in my 4-5 visits and believe me they all are at the standards of any good restaurant in Rajpur road location. I am speechless about the cleanliness and hygiene of this place, I mean it is really clean and tidy. Regarding Ambience i loved the tribute given to fathers and forefathers as I could see their classic portraits hanging on the one side of wall. It is really a different concept. I also loved the sitting arrangements made of old tyres giving a retro look. Keep up the good taste and services ๐๐

Since the time I had seen, a picture of their colorful interior on one of my friends account I wanted to visit this place. After inquiring the whereabouts of this place, I got curious. Why? because of the location choice of this cafe. Usually most cafes are either somewhere near Rajpur road or in some calm, serene part of the city. But this cafe, is right on one of the most busiest and traffic filled road - right opposite Jain Dharamshala (lies in between railway station and prince chowk! wut? ๐ฎ)
Yes, that's exactly what my reaction was at first and then I got curious. ๐
One fine day when one of my friend wanted to visit a new place, but not far from my place, I just knew where to take her. ๐
The cafe is very small but like I mentioned earlier the interiors are very colorful. The two sides of the cafe are covered with mirrors and give this small space the illusion of being big. Must say very smart thinking of the interior decorator. The recycled tires have been used to make furniture and painted colorfully. Also, loved how they have used old long lost things in a quirky way (I tried capturing a few). โค
The third wall of the cafe is beautifully covered with pictures that are memories of the owners grandpa (that's how this place got its name) and also been paired with high table for two seating system.
As for food I didn't have much expectations with this place. I expected it to be okayish but this place actually surprised me. I ordered-
Dry fruit milkshake
Pasta
Masala tea
Sandwich
Everything tasted nice and the prices are pretty decent. Best part in their menu beside the cafe items they also have breakfast (eg. poha) and thali too. I do not remember seeing these things on the menu when I visited. So I believe they have added new things to the menu.
Will go back to try their breakfast or thali menu.
So if you are in the area, don't have much time to go all the way to Rajpur road but craving for some good place with good food, this is the place for you. ๐

We were quite late for dinner and various nearby places were closed. Luckily they were open and serving some of the diners already. The menu was limited (at 11 pm) i think, it was more than enough. We had karayi panner and some tawa roties. Everyone enjoyed the food. The decor is very personalised with family pictures and seating made up of car tyres. In addition to that, they have home made chocolates as well. So if you are nearby kindly give them a try.
Suoer cute, awesome vibe here and delicious chocolates!
A little expensive, maybe it was be nice to have a discount if you buy multiple chocolates?
The only place that opens early in the morning and serves decent breakfast. The seating is comfortable, and one can can drop by for a quick early morning snack.
Good food and good services the great grand pa cafe is really nice am also like to go with our gf
Very good food and service. Although the dishes are a bit overpriced they are worth it for the service and ambience.
A nice little cafe with decent food and ambience.. Proximity to the railway station is also a plus...
