The ambiance is very good . I like their food, especially podi dosa!
My favorite everyday restaurant, this is one of the best place around. :)
I especially liked their dosa in less oil.. They brought it late which is understandable but it was made in least amount of oil possible. Chutney is also quite good... Coffee and Butter milk are also worth trying
Wow what a wonderful food.I have never had such a tasty masala dosa. Its very special. The chutneys are heavenly.Such melting idlis so wonderful.Really wonderful food .I don’t have words to explain.Keep it up.
Ootupura!!! name itself describes what it is! Staffs are friendly but to be honest my dinner was better than my lunch... But thanks to management for the great service and hospitality
One of my favourite veg restaurants in town. Love their bullet idlis, dosas, pongal, vadas and normal idlis. I adore.their coffee too. Small, cosy and warm place to have food.
VADA DIPPED IN HOT SAMBAR, JUST SO HEAVENLY.
.
@gokuloottupura serves one of the best Sambar Vada ever....
.
The secret behind is the Sambar recepie which am sure puts all of you in aww.
.
Sambar Vada is a fried, doughnut shaped south Indian fritter, made from Urad Dal. .
I've been having their Sambar Vada since long back. Comparing it to the ones we used to get before, i would say that the quality has gone a bit down.
.
Still one of the best Sambar Vada you wil get in town.
food good bt zomato delivery too bad My last attempt in Zomato plz avoid this kind of executives she makes unnecessary voice also waste our time
Good quality food. Lots of variety in South Indian food. The quality of the food is really good. The cost is also reasonable. There are wide variety of evening snacks available.
The place is spacious and the parking is in plenty. The morning sambar idly is quite nice. The sambar was sort of too much and it was enough to feed a couple of people. Tasted really nice. The interior is quite cool.
Peri Peri Iddly
(Price- ₹90)
.
We have all heard Peri Peri fries/masala/chicken/sauce etc..
.
Ever heard of peri-peri iddly???
.
Gokul ootupura brings to u Peri-Peri iddlys . A fusion of South Indian food and Southafrican masalas.
.
Mini iddlys dunked into peri peri masala are deep fried and beautifully served in along with a sweet and spicy schezwan sauce..
.
A set of 10 mini iddlys were served in a pan never seen b4 in Ootupura.
Renovation of the Panampally branch of Ootupura not only bring forth new ideas of serving , but also new items in thw menu.
.
Do check out!

Very nice and tasty food.very neatly packaged and delivered.very much satisfied .we can order foot without double thinking.all dishes are good
food is very tasty...good packing....only suggestion is size of masala Dosa to be increased
Food was good. The food quantity on the other hand was a disappointment. Food prices are 40-50% more than what is charged at the restaurant.
One of the good vegetarian restaurant's in the city.
All the dishes are tasty, I feel that the quantity served is less and have to order something else to get full, they should have increased the quantity along with the rates.
This restaurant serves the tastiest Paneer Butter Masala amongst all restaurant's in Kochi, make sure you try it.
Quality and delicious vegetarian food.usually crowded in dining hours .nearby to the main Street.parking is slight problem for four wheelers.Reasonable rate also
.Great with family and friends.
Best place to go for a fully vegetarian dining...
Great for both family crowd and friends...
The meals here is one of the best meals I personally have had in Ernakulam...
Good place for veg meal. They serve delicious veg food. Ppl should try their crispy idly. It’s great 👍🏻. Ppl have to visit the place for veg food in kochi.
Prompt service and quality delicious food.
Perhaps you can have more manpower on breakfast hours as all I see is 1 guy taking orders and running around.
Moreover not many small tables and if you are a couple, likely to share table with strangers at high peak hours.
Nice ambience. So tranquility. Free from hassles not even food!!!
Food for veggies and for Noble thoughts. Cochin, never expect @Reasonable rates
Nice place to have veg meals. Good ambiance and service. Parking is the only problem as it is situated very near to the main street. Usually the place will get crowded by lunch time.
Got a masala dosa and ghee roast!! Very reasonable, everyday kind off place!! The food served has a very homely taste to it!! Pretty neat too!!
I have only tried Onion Uthappam from there and it was one of the best i have ever tasted. The place gets crowded at lunch and dinner times. Overall a nice place to dine with your family.
The place is good, clean and serves quality food. Parking can be an issue if you come in a four wheeler. The staff is friendly and attends well.
Nice place to eat if still you are from north India. Food was good tea coffee lemon juice does idlai
Uttam don't try it's full on big sized onion only.
So overall nice experience and it's reasonable as well.
I am not much into veg but a great fan of chilly porota and trust me this place has got it made completely different it's really awesome and tasty. I have never had this kind of taste else were
One of the best vegetarian restaurants in Ernakulam. Ambiance is fine and the food is great here. One day we were stoned af and we went here and ordered Masala Dosa again and again and again but the waiter was so patient and food was splendacious. If you're going for dinner you can try hell of variety foods. You will love the chilly porotta here. A must go restaurant for everyone
Whenever I want to have vegetarian food this is the name come to my mind first...gokul...nice ambience.good service.good food.I like their kadavantra branch rathen than others.
ASSORTED CHAAT - Best in Kochi!I have been a fan of their assorted chat. I forced some of my friends to try it and trust me, there was a time when my entire officemates were gaga over the place. It is one of the best chat places that I have been to in Kochi. While you are at it, do try their Pav Bhaji too.
PANEER BUTTER MASALA
I have a friend who loves this dish and whenever we decide to meet for lunch, it is always Gokul and we always order paneer butter masala. They truly mean what they make by using lots of paneer, lots of butter and masala in the right amount.
SAMBAR IDLI
The Sambhar Idli in Oottupura is a must try. I admit there isn’t anything extra. It is just plain idli and plain sambar. In a bowl of sambar, they soak the idlis and give us. But slicing the idli pieces that are soaking in a bowl of sambar and placing them on your tongue, that feels different and good.
Super South Indian lunch! Ambience - average, service - okay. It will be a full house most of the time. The 'Sambar' & 'Pulisseri' along with lunch is outstanding.
The place is known for great vegetarian food. The food this time was also without doubt the great
The service was a bit cold unlike the times I have been to Panampilly Nagar one the service here was a bit cold. Ordered a masala dosa which was really great. They have snacks available for tea time.
It's the ease of parking and walking into this Ootupura that makes it stand out in Kadavanthra.
it's crazy how they are practically full all the time. From meals to extra crispy vadas, ootupura has paved the way for vegetarian restaurants for a while now. It's perhaps the ample space inside and nice tasting sambhar that makes this joint the best around Kadavanthra, for me that is !
A vegetarians usual hangout place . there are 2 of veg friends who always force me to go to a veg hotel and we always end up here . But the chats we Recive here and the good food . Especially I recommend panner dosa it is really good
Yesterday we have tried Masala Dosa and Oothappam from here. Masala Dosa is very tasty and crispy. We have also tried their well known coffee. There is a good ambiance at the hotel which is located near kadavanthra junction.
Next time we will definitely try their north Indian tali meals.
Want great South Indian food? Go to Gokul Oottupura! Want great North Indian food? Go to North India! Its a nice little place to come and have a quick, well-priced meal 👍
Nice place serving wholesome south indian food. Awesome breakfast. But caution don't go for North Indian food as it is far from authentic and actually not upto the mark
Friendly staffs and good food until now. I have been there many times. I would be more happy with a 5 star if there were more choices for drinks available.
Every Sunday after the quintessential trip to the temple my folks and I without fail head to Oottupura more so at my behest.
Honestly if I am hungry and too lazy to cook I would most definitely end up here. Why you ask? They do a good job that's why!
Located very close to the kadavanthara junction , the establishment has been with the city for a long time now, long before a lot of us who write about our culinary experiences knew we would ever end up doing so.
They have a seating in the outside which has turned out to be our usual spot.
The place looks clean and we have never had an issue with hygiene.
So since this is not review about one particular visit and is a cumulative based on many such visits. I will keep it simple.
I can vouch for their tiffin items such as dosas , poori , batoora etc.
I keep telling myself I would order something new every time I step in but I don't know what it is with the Ghee roast here that I can't have enough.
Folks are more experimental and at least try the other items. Other than the minor flaws with the chutney's the place does a good job in consistently providing good food which I acquaint to as comfort food.
So a usual meal for the three of us is three/five plates of dosas, vadas and hot filter kaapi.
You cannot have a meal that does not end with a steaming filter kaapi.
The staff are very sweet ,pleasant people who are around but also don't smother. We have never faced delay in service. One of those places where you don't think twice whilst tipping.
My sentiments are that no matter where I migrate to when am back at my turf I will always be glad to head to ootupura and have a nice little meal washed down with coffee.
If you haven't already visited , what are you doing ?? Go ! Give this place a shot. If you are someone who is not about the frills and enjoys simple but delicious food this is one place you will enjoy.

Two times I had visited this place, once for breakfast and the other time for an evening snack.
Ambiance: It was really pleasant and the tables and chairs arranged looked different. It was not chairs, probably you can say desks.
Food: Both the times, my order was Ghee Roast and Coffee. They provided very crispy roast, which went great with sambar and chutneys. Filter coffee gave me a brisk feeling.
Service: Medium speed, neither too quick nor slow. In total, a descent service.
A very good place for quick veggi bite.. The serve best authentic South Indian food in that area. Value for money .North Indian and Chinese food is also good
One of my favourite places for a quick bite, these guys serve pretty decent south Indian and north Indian food. Value for money. Must haves - butter roast dosa, Gobi Manchurian dry
The Service, and food was good but the food presenting was average, Prices were reasonable. I liked the coffee there.
I will visit it again for sure
Had a lunch meal. A good variety for a price of Rs. 120/- Ordered salt lassi which had more salt than curd😃. However otherwise all was well. Good place to have authentic veg food in Kochi.
A nice little restaurent at kadavanthra that offers good south indian vegetarian breakfast. Rates are reasonable and their service is very fast. Its a great place for those on the run, who want a quick breakfast, thats not heavy on wallet or light on the stomach.
For south indian dishes, the place is quite good. The ambience is pretty nice. Have gone twice for lunch and twice for dinner. Nice combination right? :) Have been satisfied with the food and the cost.
This is a great vegetarian restaurant to go to. Its our go to place every week with family! They pretty much serve all cuisines - South Indian, North Indian and Chinese. Their chaats are pretty good, the best I've had in Kochi. The assorted chaat gives you an option to taste all the chaat items they have. I'm also a huge fan of their Gobi Manchurian and Paneer Tikka Masala.
The service is pretty decent, you don't have to wait long for your order.
The place looks quite cute with wooden desks and tables and is pretty cheap compared to the good food they serve.
Awesome coffee! Tasty ghee roasts, buttery dosas, crispy vadas in a very neat and clean atmosphere. I can't decide which vegetarian dish I love the most - the paneer-based items, bindi or aloo curries. Everything is light and delicious, and I often come out of this place having a feeling of having eaten some impeccably healthy food!
Gone there a couple of times and have come back fully satisfied. The breakfast is excellent and so is the South Indian Thali. The Rasam and Sambhar r outstanding too.
It has a nice, cool and relaxed decor.
Amazing butter masala dosa. Definitely one of the best in kochi. Very crispy and filled with butter. Also other veg dishes like paneer butter masala and gobi manchurian etc are delicious too. And none of this is high priced yet seating is comfortable and service is good too. Perfect vegetarian place!!(photo attached is of take away)
Had been here twice or so. good place, good ambience. Their Chole Bature was one of the best i ever had. The Dosa items were really good too.
This restaurant is not currently working now :( it was the best place for vegetarian food n south indian breakfast... loved the dosas appam n everything they had.. sad it got closed
This is another interesting places I like to go to . the taste and quality and quantity is very good and worth the money you give there . their tables and chairs are kind of interesting. But the service is a lill slow they have to improve that . all the dishes that we get here are wonderfull and they have 3 other outlets which are equally good .
Recommended to all veggies .
Authentic north indian taste. And very good for chaats and south indian food too. Nice ambience. Loved this place.. A north indian Island in south india.
One of our favourite Sunday breakfast joints. The table with benches giving the restaurant a spartan look. Really fast service. Good food. Reasonable rates. Love the puttu and Kadala curry.
Will visit Gokul when i crave for some vegetarian food.
I love their food, though its a bit oily.
My favourite is their fried rice and dry chilli gobi or gobi manchurian dry. Most of the dishes ordered were good. and they are reasonably priced. Service is also good but there can be heavy rush during peak hours.
Do try this hotel.
I first found this restaurant when I came to drop my sister in bus station. And we had masala dosa which was pretty good. Since I've been there many times and my usual choice is masala dosa and black coffee which are my favourites here. A very good ambience and pretty ok service makes this hotel special. Quick service and they serve happily. Podi dosa, chappati set are also good. Pocket friendly too. :)
A charming cozy place midst the crazy crowd. You won't be disappointed for a cup of coffee, vada or masala dosa any time of the year. You guys should pay/motivate your waiter's so they could sync up with the vibe of the customers visiting there.
Had podi dosa here and it was good. Good place to have breakfast items..
Very good service and very good food. Looking for Vegetarian food? Here it is.
I've been here almost 30 to 40 times and never had any complaint - regarding food and service. They have a friendly supervisor monitoring and you can tell him if you have any issue.
I had the banana leaf meal (ela oonu) here for lunch. They serve one of the best meals for lunch. Ambience and staff were good. The meal was finger-licking tasty. The place is usually crowded on weekends. Make sure you reach before 2pm cos the meals get over by that time.
Good Vegetarian Hotel. Kadai Mushroom n Butter Nan is my regular order.
Enjoyed podi dosa and masala chaat; both delicious. However, noticed some dust particles in the restaurant. Overall, tasty experience with a minor cleanliness concern.
Excellent restaurant for quality dining experience. First of all the internal design is splendid. The earthy natural feel, wooden furniture and a homely feel is superb. Chutney still taste great in my memory!!
The staff were energetic and happy. The quality of food is exceptionally good. This branch is so good compared to edapally one. Car parking seems difficult though, but could be managed i guess.
Food that i tried:-
1) Ghee Roast Dosa
2)Ghee Masala Dosa
3) Butter Roast Dosa
4) Butter Masala Dosa
5) Coffee
The dosas were crispy and tasty. They also provide lots of varieties of dosas and idlis.
I recently dined at Gokul Ooottuppura and had the pleasure of trying their Idly, Vada, and Chutney. I must say, it was an exceptional culinary experience from start to finish.
The Idly was soft and fluffy, a perfect balance of texture and taste. The Vada, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, paired wonderfully with the chutney. Speaking of chutney, their assortment of chutneys was a delightful surprise. Each one had its unique flavor profile, and they complemented the dishes perfectly.
What truly stood out, though, was the impeccable service. The staff was attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They made sure we felt comfortable and had everything we needed throughout our meal.
Overall, my visit to Gokul Oottuppura was a memorable one. The combination of delectable food and outstanding service left a lasting impression. I highly recommend trying their Idly, Vada, and Chutney, and I look forward to returning soon.
Very tasty food. Courteous staff. Reasonable pricing. Neat and clean restaurant. Only disadvantage is the parking. I visit very often.
Visited the place for dining. The appearance and well laid out place appealed to us. We were not disappointed. Good choice of food including South Indian, North Indian, Chats and good milk shake. Fast and good service. Hygienic and tasty food. Moderately priced and light on the stomach. Must visit place for good food.
Suberb food ... I choose idli and cheese chilli dosa... Both are good enough... While the idli is so yummy... Even you ate with chilli chutney along with... Omg.... Delicious
Must try their ootupura special masala dosha and red chilly cheese dosa
I am not visiting this place for the first time. But, always this waitress chechi amazed me with her behaviour. Her name is Sheeba chechi. She always wear a smile and serve all the customers well without any hesitation.
Food is also very tasty. I used to have lunch from there. Also Rava masala dosa and podi idli is my favourite. Recommended for North Indian and South Indian dishes.
A neat veg place for friends and family. Food was good. The only disappointment was that they dint have appam, which is quite famous in Kerala.
Had a Kerala veg thali here . Cost wise was good and food was hot and fresh. Option of white rice and Matta rice . I don't miss Matta rice in any of my trips in Kerala . Good behaviour of staff as well. 5 star from me .
During the afternoon, it is extremely crowded. We tried meals as well as veg biryani. Meals arrived swiftly, however veg biryani took around 20-25 minutes. Another major difficulty is a lack of parking. You'll have to park on the side of the road at your own risk. Maybe you'll get a police challan when you return.
