Well I can give 4 rating to SOO Komachi Japanese restaurant. Food was good. I ordered Sushi which was Awesome for me bcz I had first time. Decore is not too much attractive but yeah its look like as you are in Authentic Japanese restaurant, Seating arrangement was authentic Japanese, I like it. Over all food was A
Good service, great food!
The taste and display of the food are just like what authentic Japanese restaurants serve.
I really liked the traditional japanese sitting, and the fact that they have private booths are really good for private dinners and such.
5 stars for ambience and food was filling. Limited menu with Japanese cuisine only. Communicating in indianised English was quite difficult.
This place served a heart warming meal in one of the contemporary style tatami rooms. With rain pouring over large windows in the room, while you sip on some hot miso soup/ dashi - everything seemed just perfect. Ordered a pork katsu curry and udon noodles with prawn tempura. Katsu dish (that came with miso soup) was simply superb with just a little less curry than we'd like, left us wanting more. Udon noodle broth (miso I guess) was fragrant and soothing for the weather, was topped with a fried vegetable cake, sea weed and a slightly soggy prawn tempura. Both dishes were served with sweet potato and mayo onion salad. Definitely going back there for more.
Looking for a light lunch around MG Road area Zomato showed a Japanese place very near to my office. I went for a quick and light lunch alone at Komachi located on the 3rd floor of MGF Plaza Mall near IFFCO Chowk. My review for the lunch is as below:
Ambiance: The restaurant is small but nicely decorated; on entering the place you have a small Bar on the right with a screen showing Japanese Channel, during my lunch a SUMO match was on. The seats are made in such a way that privacy is maintained due to the partitions between tables. On the left side they also have traditional sitting on the floor for bigger groups, these tables are completely covered thus giving complete privacy to the guests sitting here. The place definitely gives the vibe of an authentic Japanese restaurant. Though I found the place to be a bit dark, it could have been better if they have more sunlight in the place. The place was filled with Japanese people I was not able to find any local people there; I think is that was because the mall itself is quite low footfall one.
Service: The staff greets you in Japanese when you enter and also when you leave, which is a nice thing as it adds to the experience. On entering I was in front of a staff member who helped me with my table and came back with the menu to take my order. The menu has English translation as well for people like me to understand the dishes. The staff is polite and helpful; their suggestion for the meal was bang on for me.
Food: On suggestion from the staff I ordered a set meal Katsu Don which was Sticky rice topped with egg and pork it came with a small but tasty salad, some pickle and an appetizer which I think was sweet potato and also miso soup. The food was tasty and the meal quantity was enough to fill my stomach. I really liked the salad and the soup. The main dish became better after adding some soy sauce and pinch of chilies, but was still quite average.
Cost: My meal for one cost to me was 600 INR which was decent not too expensive when you compare it to other places serving the same cuisine.
Overall the experience was good and the food tasty the place is not too expensive as well. Definitely a try if you are in the neighborhood.
Small, homely and cute Japanese restaurant, with a small menu - half Japanese and half English (with some translations inconsistently). Food is reasonable and so is service and ambiance. Can be better; but no complaints.
Whatever you will order, every dish is taste at every time. And I liked hotpot which they serve in every winter in Japanese style..The restaurant's decor is tastefully done, the private rooms ups the ante in terms of Japanese decor.
Excellent Authentic Japanese izakaya styled foods and smiling service is appreciated.
They keep on changing menu as changing season.
Ambiance also nice Japanese styled interior and sittings.
Staffs service is not so excellent but nice.
I have been to Komachi quite a few times while living in Delhi. For me Komachi is the ultimate Japanese restaurant in NCR if you are looking for authentic Japanese fares served with zero pretensions. The restaurant's decor is tastefully done, the private rooms ups the ante in terms of Japanese decor. The restaurant is not ubiquitous by any means and serves quality Japanese fare including some very good sake. Most of their meat is imported I am told by their very friendly and super charming sous chef. She herself travels to hand-pick the best of meat cuts available as she says nothing but the best would do for her restaurant. Such passion explains how Komachi has been around for such a longtime. Their standard have been robust and hence their service and delivery superb. Great going team Komachi.
Komachi restaurant the underdog of Japanese restaurants. Most of the above reviews argues the poor location and so called "bad services". However, people have several over sight. 1) Komachi serves one of the finest and the most unique Japanese dinning at a significantly cheaper rate. 2) komachi is not afraid to experiment new food recipes. Notably their curry rice is phenomenal and different from all other Japanese curries I have ever had. 3) Surprisingly their hall staff understand quite a bit of Japanese words giving one an illusion of dinning in Japan. 4) Any questions or concerns can directly be addressed to the owner who almost always sits on the counter keeping an eye on her precious Komachi. 5) Additionally Komachi is quite famous amongst the Japanese community here in NCR almost all my Japanese friends know of Komachi. It is also the most trusted.
That said its of no surprise Komachi has survived for more than half a decade. I love coming here!
I am not really a Chinese or Japanese food lover, I always tried chinese food at many places but never liked it. Here it was a different experience , I never had an amazing fried rice and chicken special. It was amazingly tasty.
Loved it.
It just not food, onwer herself comes and great you and ask you about food and everything.
Loved the vibes of the restaurant.
Every Punjabi should go and eat here.
You will love it.
I really enjoy having dinner at Komachi. My meals are always delicious and made in a timely manor. The staff is polite and helpful. Then to top it off the prices are unbeatable for such a quality of a Japanese food and experience.
amazing staff...awesome food... great ambiance...
well priced and totally worth it!
authentic Japanese food but location is bit let down
My dinner at Komachi is completely unforgettable. It starts from the warm and friendly staff helping me choose the best from the menu (Karaage ) along with culinary explanations.
The ambience completely sweeps you into a different environment altogether. I was fortunate to use a private dining area with my friends.I particularly appreciated the chefs coming over to us and enquiring if I was enjoying my meal.
In addition exotic green tea was served to complete my meal (Of course with compliments).
Overall I really recommend it to those of you who want to taste authentic Japanese foods and surely its central location is an add on!!
I have been there a few times and the food on an average is alright. Yesterday I happened to go there for lunch and ordered a set menu dish i.e rice with stir fried pork and cabbage. While eating, I had a feeling that the pork is stale and had some kind of a preservative flavor to it. The result- very bad stomach early this morning.
