Delectable is how I put it!! After so many times ordering over app,the visit was well rewarded!
While space is constraint! But the food make it up more than enuf!
The chciken biryani with the boiled egg is similar to the kolkatta version ableit the kerelaite taste!
While the prawn & egg appam made me smile!
The show stopper was the pompfret fry!
Tossed in a masala paste & fryed it was absolute delight!
Definitely great for deliveries!
Man hands down to this place for some authentic malabari food. I liked this restaurant so much that i end up ordering from here every weekend. My personal favourite items
1. BUFF CURRY
2. BUFF BIRYANI
3. KAPPA BIRYANI
4. MALABARI PARANTHA WITH FISH CURRY
Really, really good beef roast. The appams here are always soft and fresh. Highly recommended!
Best mallu food in Gurgaon
Really nice place for coastal spicy non veg cuisine. Loved the buff fry, buff masala, mutton fry, chicken cutlet and the malabar Parathas. Will definitely order again
First of I have stopped being critc from last review, because everyone is being one of them, without proper taste buts, knowledge and I think someone needs to have some sense.
1st part: After visiting 15 states, I was kind inspired by Malabar food(north kerala region and I wanted to visit that also. So I tried searching for the flavours in Gurgaon, LF91 fest was first gateway and second was Malabar biryani(veg)
2nd Part: Their main food are Biryani, Sea Foods and some kerala's curry and stews.
They had really done well by introducing new taste in Gurgaon and They are doing from last 14 years. Trust me, would request you please go their, and get a glipse of mini Kerala.
Part 3: Real Review: I had found a huge difference between live food and ordered food, because of plastic container, hence, please do go there to get great ratse experience, confirmed by owner Mr. SAJI, their spices are from Kerala their grains too are from Kerala. The main difference as compared with Kerala local food will be water and air.
KYUKI DELHI KA PAANI BAHUT SAAF HAIN NA...
Authentic Keralite flavour and taste in Gurgaon. I visited this restaurant and had appam abd kadala curry. The location could have been better as it is in a alley.
Have only ever gotten their take out, and gotten it many times.
What a splendid little gem of a place.
Food is clean, with fresh ingredients, and hits exactly the tastebuds you ordered it for.
You can get all the south indian food at offerdable rate. Must try is crab, you will get fry and curry. My favorite is fry. Place is little conjusted. But it's neat and clean
When I first moved into Gurgaon, I was literally dying for home food. I found this gem from Swiggy n life was suddenly not so bad anymore.Kappa biryani and beef items are bang on...very cheap n tasty compared to all other restaurants.I havnt personally visited the restaurant as I don't get time off from work but for dinner I order mostly from here. Would love to visit this place n speak Malayalam to my fellow mallus as I rarely find one in Gurgaon!!!
Light on pocket and great on taste buds that's what this small joint offers. We ordered prawns, chicken roast, malabar porota and appam and everything was heavenly and all this in 500 rs. We are definitely going there again and try some more stuff from their menu.
Nice place to eat Authentic Kerala Food. It’s budget place with nice taste and good services. Location is little difficult to find but if you use GPS to find the place.
I am a regular customer here as it is one of the few places in Gurgaon that gives some of the authentic Kerala dishes. Recently they have started a snack outlet, "Bonji" also. Few of the must try snacks from here are , chicken cutlet, egg puff, meat roll. Pineapple chicken slice is a a unique snack to try. For me, Malabar's signature dishes would be Kerala porotta, Malabar chicken biryani, beef roast and Appam. Also for fish lovers out there, variety of dishes are waiting for you here. Overall a must try place for everybody out there in the neighborhood. Happy fooding! :)
The perfect place for some quick Kerala food.
Get a load of their Porottas and Roasts or even try the Malabar Special Biriyanis to get a real good food experience.
The rates are very nominal that anyone can eat a load yet leave easy on the wallet.

My go to place for Kerala biryani and spicy dry mutton. A small and clean place with delicious food. Order in if you're the fancy place type - you will not regret it.
If you aren’t fussy on ambience and spotless cleanliness; and Kerala style non-veg is on your mind... this is the place to go. Red curries are better than yellow ones. Good quantity. Fresh food.
Hotel Malabar is a wonderful restaurant, I've never been to the location per se.. but the food delivered to my doorstep always is cooked well, delicious and is the go to with me. Thanks
The prawns fry is awesome..Both Parothas and Appams are to die for..
Though the access is not on the main road, the approach is cramped, the seating may not be elegant,....but the food is great..it overpowers your senses and transports back to Kerala
If you crave Mallu food, this is a must visit
Been there thrice but they have amazing amazing food for which I will never stop going there. Restaurant itself is very small but food is simply great. Appam, Prontha, and Chicken Chettinad was so so good. You should definitely try there fish, if you are fish lover.
Must must try this.
Totally paisa vasool. ❤️
Have had their palappam, appam with veg stew, mutton fry, mutton stew etc. No complaints anywhere. Not over the top either. Need to try puttu soon :-)
Went in with least expectations but came out absolutely delighted. Their meat curry is the best i have had in delhi NCR. Its not a place you would go for ambience. Go there if you want to have some really good malayali food.
How can Eid celebration be complete without mutton dish...so ordered Mutton korma along with fish curry and appam. The South Indian style was a welcome change and my whole family relished the food. Delivery was also very quick!!
Exceptional place!! The crab masala was outstanding and probably one of the best crab curries I’ve ever eaten. There is so much on the menu to try from and so much value for money. Highly recommend!!
Good Kerala food... Delicious 😋 parotta and fish curry is my favourite. They should improve the packaging quality, cheap plastic bags should actually be avoided and something in go green style..
My mum had always told me to enjoy a good south Indian breakfast of Idli and chutney so there wasn't any other alternative to this great restaurant so I came here for at least they were very soft and extremely delicious I finished my mail with her filter coffee which team which two options either with sugar or without being spoilt for choices I took it with sugar and also enjoyed my food very much thanks a lot four stars
There’s a particular spot in every meat loving South Indian that only a true blue malabari restaurant can hit. Hotel Malabar did just that. Sandwiched between a narrow alley and another building, this eatery is a gem. I read a few reviews here where people have given the place a 1 star rating because the service wasn’t up to mark or that there wasn’t any parking available. These folks bring down the overall rating of a very good restaurant that exists only to serve good food from Kerala. It’s not there to give you “service” and it’s not planned enough to have designated parking spots. Don’t be shallow. Go here expecting fast and no nonsense service because they have to turnover the few tables they have real quick. Get in, order, eat, pay and leave.
We got karimeen fry, prawn roast, beef roast, beef curry, mutton stew, egg roast, appam, boiled rice and I may be missing something but it doesn’t matter. The stew wasn’t great. It was too thick and gloopy. I’d avoid it next time. Everything else was top notch. Particularly the beef curry and prawns roast. Appams were soft and fantastic with the beef curry. The wait staff is good but pls be patient with them. And they don’t accept cards. Only cash or Paytm.
Highly recommendable malabar restaurant. Taste is awesome. Quality is super fresh and hygenic. #malayalirestaurant #malayalifood #malayalioon #porottachicken
Came this place to have a lunch with some of my friends recently and ordered fish curry and plain rice for everybody . Fish was absolutely fresh and rice was well cooked. Service was good and food was delivered on right time .
On a Saturday afternoon went to this place after a lot of recommendation from foodies around me, I think every recommendation is worthy and I visited this place. Not a fancy ambiance to go wow about it but best kerela cusine outlet in gurgaon, every bite is heavenly.. as I am vegetarian so there are options but less than non veg options. This place is heavenly for sea food lovers, variety of fishes and amazing preparations. One thing I loved here is papadam, crispy, yummy and light 😋.
Pocket friendly outlet. They serve best kerela parota.
Totally worth it.
Thanks
Shejal
Went for lunch with a colleague who knew this place. Must say....amazing food. Malabar special chicken curry was awesome along with parotha. It’s a regular place for lunch...not a proper restaurant. Who cares...
Gods own restro from Gods own country. Food is unbelievably yummy and quite quite pocket friendly. Pricing, Quality and Quantity is fabulous and most importantly every dish is must try. Appam goes with all
I have never had such filling and good food for this price. I ordered Appam, and Chicken Curry and I am amazed by the quality and quantity of food that costed me barely 130 bucks. The Appam was so fluffy and chicken curry and just the right amount of spices! Definitely ordering from here again!
A small restaurant that provides decent kerala food.
The appam is very nice as it is soft. The kerala porata was not up2 the mark, while the chicken dry fry was fine too.
The malabar chicken biryani is fine, though the rice might be a little less 4 the average foodie.
The pricing is pocket friendly.
In short, good place 2 catch up on kerala food in this area.
Great Kerala food. Also a big plus because it is on Swiggy. Beef Roast, Beef Fry, Aapams, Chicken stew. All good. Do try visiting for the 'meals' lunch too on the weekends.
I am brought up in kuwait. So growing up I have only had Mallus around me. Most of my best friends are from Kerala. So somehow I have had a very longed craving for Kerala Food. (Since I moved here) Fish curry, fish fry and rice! After 6 years of living in North Indian, I finally felt at home! Oh there was irani naan too outside. I wanted to hug the man. I had tears of joy. I have been eating from malabar since three consecutive days now.
The service was great and I really enjoyed the mutton roast and fish curry. Never had anything quite like the dishes I tried here & would love to come back again soon.
great food for the price range, very well priced I must say. quality is decent to be honest, I have ordered twice within a week. buff fry and paratha is a must try.
I wanted to taste Malayli food and so we went for office team lunch. It is a small eatery here in Gurgaon. At first I was apprehensive with the menu and the taste of the food, then with the help of one of my colleagues finally I placed the order. Buff roast, Fish curry, Appam parantha, rice and chicken curry with Papad. The food was good, the staff were courteous. They understood our problem and suggested few dishes. I guess I will visit again to try something more, unique!
This tiny outlet caters primarily to the local Malayali population residing nearby so you know they have to be cost effective and authentic. While south indian outlets in Gurgaon are a dime a dozen, something like this is a great find.
Don't expect anything in the way of ambience, come here for the heavy food and light prices. While ordering, stick to the local cuisine and skip the chettinad stuff. Anything that involves an unhealthy amount of coconut or coconut oil is made very well here. Their Malabar special chicken curry is their highlight and their fish items are serviceable. Order a fluffy appam or super flaky parotta to mop up your gravy. Sometimes they also have the Kerala special red rice which goes really well with the lighter gravies like fish curry.
Avoid the snack items in the front, they tend not to be fresh and are a bit too oily for my taste.
A small and in budget restaurant which serves very delicious food especially non veg. This is a hub for south Indian dishes. Their Kerala paratha is amazing also the chicken curry they serve is mouth watering. Definitely try out!!
College ki yaad dila di yaar. I did my undergrad at Kochi, so been there for 4 years I loved the malabar biryani, appam, porotta with Gobi Manchurian/Chilli etc.
Whenever I come across a restaurant serving Malabar cuisine I first look at the price of porotta, here in gurgaon they are serving it at 10 rs( haven't found a place with price less than 50 rs a piece), they are not the best I have eaten but they were good, would just like them a little more flaky.
A good Gobi Manchurian with porotta... I can't explain how good that tastes. The Manchurian here was spot on.. Loved it!!
Malabar Biryani.. This biryani has a different taste than the Hyderabadi or Awadhi biryani we often get in Gurgaon, again not the best I have tasted but I would have it again and again..
Best thing is the restaurant is not trying to northernize the dishes, and is connected to their roots. Will keep ordering from there as theirs menu is vast and I have a lot to taste.
Hotel Malabar is incredible. Must try their kerela fish curry with some porotas. I'm going to keep getting food from them. Best Kerela food in the town.😍😋
My visit impression of Malabar Hotel was not a good one. I ordered for a Ulli Vada (kind of snack) while waiting for the luncheon here. Of course I knew it was not straight out of the pan, still I checked with the cashier who nuked it before serving. Cold, soggy and way past its best date.
Nevertheless, the lunch made up for it. Nummy, delectable Malayali fare that I lost count of helpings. I found the quality better than its Delhi counterparts. Hope the food quality stays consistent at all days!
Directions: Half a kilometre from Medanta Medicity. Though the neighbourhood and restaurant environs has no pomp, food is good, on most of the days!
Their signature dish is tomato fry and veg. Korma with Appam or porotta.. tried both and must say.. it tastes superb... Keep up the good work team.
Awesome lip smacking and mouth watering. If you wanna have the authentic Kerala food, this is the one stop shop!! Kerala Parota, Malabar Briyani, Mutton, chicken and fish...
Good cheap Malayalee food :) If you want to have decent parotta, dosha, appam or puttu, look no further! The sweetest part is that the bill wouldn't cross INR 150 per head.
Chicken Chettinad. Wonderful.
Appam. Beautiful.
Beef roast. Full of dreams.
Any fish-dish. Nothing fishy about any of those. Close your eyes and order along.
Also, their daily specials(whichever)
Must eat place.
An oasis in the desert for South Indians.😍 Visited here on a weekend evening. This place has a very simple ambiance in a cramped up space. They don't accept cards so I had to search for an ATM nearby.
Got an Appam for 10 rupees. It was freshly steamed and the consistency was soft and fluffy. But there was no gravy or coconut milk provided with appam.
Prawn biriyani was delicious and the quantity was huge. Although that doesn't justify it's cost kept at 350 rupees 😱.
Overall the food was great but the biriyani was overpriced.
Ambiance - 3/5
Bang for buck - 3.5/5
Food quality - 4.5/5
Service, hospitality - 4/5
I visited this restaurant yesterday and i promise you, this is what you want if you are looking for traditional, pure and hygienic south indian food. I know this review seems like a paid review but I'm doing this because I'm very satisfied and will visit this restaurant regularly because it is very economical as well. I personally thanked the owner for serving food so pure and tasty. Though the restaurant is not very fancy but has all the basic amenities. This is a one stop solution for all south Indian food cravings.
Just don't think twice, go and experience yourself.
I haven't had such good from Malabari cuisine in this busy stock city. I visited Kerala in early 2023 and was mesmerised by the place, people and mainly their food. Its not just the land of spices, people inhale spices in their food. And its not just spicy, tangy food, its actually delectable.
When someone told me about Hotel Malabar after that trip, I shrugged it off and didn't pay attention, thinking it would be the same old cosmetic creation of Malabari cuisine. Then one day, I decided to hit the place with a very close Mallu friend. We ordered a special Meen Pollichattu (which we had tried in Kochi already). Long story short, not only was it the same authentic spice mix + fish type; it ended up costing us ₹300 something! The same in Kochi was for ₹700-800. We were taken aback by the quality. We had a little chat with the owner after that who is a very sweet and kind person himself. He is doing amazing work with the restaurant in this god-awful tasteless city.
Personal favs pls do try: Meen Pollichattu, Mutton Ghee Roast, Mutton Chilly fry, Erachi Roast, Mango Prawns Curry, Prawns Chilly Fry. Paired up with porottas.
Nice place to have Kerala food. Specially the fried fish and prawn masala m. The new outlet is better and very clean. Cost for 5 people eating stomach full lunch around 1400 inr
Today I had the pleasure of dining here, an authentic Malabari food haven that left me enchanted and satisfied. For Malabari food cravings this could be the best place for you.
Hotel Malabar stands out not just for its delectable Malabari cuisine but for delivering an immersive dining experience.
In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking an authentic taste of Malabar in a warm and inviting setting. I look forward to my next visit to savor more of the culinary treasures this restaurant has to offer.
One best place to get the south Indian foods, the real taste. Every South Indian should must try at least once. Especially the Kerala foods like appam and puttu is awesome.
Good place for small group /family to dine in. Good quality food. Must try Malabar parotta, biriyani and Meals (lunch) from here.
Authentic Kerala taste..!
Kerala food at it's best! Full of flavours and very tasteful. All the dishes are great at this place. My personal favourite stands out is the kothu parathas, beef fry and egg masala. Try out this very affordable place🙂
The best south Indian place in Gurgaon. Actually they serve the real authentic sambhar which is better than even sarvana bhawan. You will feel that everything they serve is so fresh that you ll regret that why didn't you know about this place earlier. They have renovated the old small place and now have better and clean interiors and fast service.
Ordered Biryani from this place, biryani is good, typical Malabari biryani, served with papad.
Quantity is decent w.r.t price (200/- for full Biryani)
This is located opposite to Medanta. Can definitely try the Biryani here.
Appam was very soft! Went very well with the Prawn roast. Porotta was good too.
We also bought kottu Porotta, which was very filling and tasty.
Restaurant also had some things to sell: like pickles, masalas , snacks etc. I bought several :)
Also, restaurant was packed at 2pm on holiday. Restaurant owner was kind and opened up a section (potentially for meetings) for our family.
For parking, best do in 1st street parking you get.
They have a clean washroom and handwash area.
Nice restaurant, with good space to accommodate 25 pax. Nice authentic Kerala food with a smile from the waiter.
Good place for Kerala food.
