The veg thali was really good but the sesame pork was not that upto the mark ...nice ethnic decor, well ambience...looking forward to have a better experience then before..
It is a well maintained restaurant that gives an extra flavour of northeast india. They have proper parking plot for cars too. The restaurant is surrounded by a well maintained bamboo trees in all directions. There is a small playground for kids as well. Once we stepped into the restaurant, it gives a nice aroma of bamboo shoots. Later realised that it was from bamboo shoots pickles.
We ordered Assamese Fish Meal and Assamese Pork Meal.
Assamese Fish Meal had 9 items in which three items are fish items. One fish curry, Small fish deep fried and a mashed small fish.
Assamese pork meal had 7 items. One pork curry cooked with Gongura /Sorrel leaves. Another pork item was deep fried.
All over the food was delicious and well presented in the most authentic way. We went for the authentic meal and we got it. Thank you for that.

Highly recommended.
Loved this place, although it was hectic in the afternoon hours but it is normal since it is situated near a national highway. Food was good, recommendable 👌👍 I ordered naan, paneer butter masala, lemon chicken and veg fried rice and it was all savoury! This place has accommodation for a hugenumber of customers and maybe just because of the large area that it covers the AC's doesn't cool some places which is why some customers may have a lil tough time.
Its a very very good family restaurant. Ethnic assamese cuisine and ethnic assam type architecture giving it a magnificent look!
Booking is easy for any parties, etc.
Greater Ambience, Cool atmosphere, delicious food, excellent service, reasonable pricing. What more one want?
Loved the place and food. A Must Go place to dine.
This place is my all time favourite in guwahati, as well in bangalore, they serve authentic assamese food , Thali is a must try which I recently tried in guwahati with chicken curry and pigeon curry and both of them were as expected... visiting this place will always give you satisfaction.

One of the best restaurants in Guwahati.. Authentic assamese delicacies are available here.. this place serves yummy hot & sour chicken soup, chicken tandoori and butter chicken masala.. A great place to hang around with family and friends.. Highly recommended.
Wanted to taste authentic cousine of Assam and we reached the right place. The place is so spacious and big with bamboo and cane themed. Awesome Assam thali was served to us on heavy brass plates. We ordered fish thali. There is pork thali and chicken thali too. We ordered another pork dish along with that, which was awesome too. For topping up our delight an awesome milk kheer also got served as sweet dessert.
Ambience is awesome.
That bamboo decorations and assamese traditional style serving looks good.
Food is average as I had been there only once.
Staff is good.
Would like to go there again to try other assamese dishes.
Nice place. Mr. Bhuban Gam is the pioneer in this service. The 1st person to bring Assamese traditional food to the restaurant. He maintains it's quality cleanliness tradition.
My first taste of Assamese cuisine! No sooner did we land in Guwahati than we rushed to Gams. Had read good reviews in several blogs and it did not disappoint. The ambience is decent; nothing out of the ordinary but the food is delicious. I was desperate to try smoked pork having heard so much about it earlier. We ordered Smoked Pork with Dry Bamboo shoots, spicy Ari Fish curry and Joha rice. The Smoked pork was mouthwatering and I could have had it al day long! The fish curry was okey-dokey. Overall a good introduction to the cuisine I was dying to taste!
Visit this place if you want to experience authentic Assamese taste and ambience. The entire furniture is made of bamboo. I tried the Assamese pork thali. It has around 4 pork preparations in it and each one is so unique and tasty. It's a little heavy on the stomach though if you're not a regular pork eater! Definitely should visit though to taste the local cuisine.
Must visit when in Guwahati to try their over-whelming thalis true to authentic North-East Indian cuisine!! Excellent ambience and service, too.
U walk into this place to the wonderful aroma of bamboo shoot and u get instantly reminded of what to order here. Definite spot if ur craving traditional assamese cuisine. The duck, the marinated fish baked in banana leaves, the bamboo shoot pork curry will delightfully tickle ur taste buds. Service upto the mark. Ambience a nicely decorated spacious hall which gives you a very open feeling when you walk in. Definite recommend!!
Had been to this hotel 4/5 years back
Time has gone but taste n quality had remained the same
They serve food on authentic Kansha plates n glass which adds the quality of food
We had tried pork fry which was just perfect
Then we tried Chicken dry, steam rice with Pork curry n Duck curry
An outstanding experience
Simply loved it
Really love the ambience and the interiors of the place. The food is simply superb. You can have the traditional Assamese thali as well as the other Assamese dishes here are worth savouring, specially the duck and pigeon meat. Even the tandoori chicken as well as other chicken items are lip smackingly delicious.
Loved the food. Truly represents authentic assamese food. Feels like a meal at home.
Even the environment is traditional like they serve in bell metal plates and the seats are of bamboo.
Have been to this location for more than 5 times, so yes, Aunthentic assamese cuisine available at not-so-reasonable prices, but worth every penny. Veg thali is good, but my favourite would be the "duck curry with potato" and "chicken curry with sesame seeds". These can be paired either with the assamese veg thali or some steamed rice and daal.

This Place is next to Royal Group of Institutions/ Opp. to Balaji Temple... They have the authentic assamese restaurant ambience, but the staff arent very friendly...
Bad stuff apart, great food taste wise as well as quantity wise, clean and hygenic, one of the best places to eat in the highway..! Thumbs Up!
Resturent is just near by royal group of institutions by the side of NH 37. It's very good well maintained a family resturent. Nicely decorated with bamboo, a theme assamese resturent with lots of assamese foods. It has enough space to handle a huge number of customers at a time.
Coming to food. We have ordered jeera rice, pulao, afghani chicken, chicken butter masala and pork fry. Jeera rice was very good and well prepared. Pulao was not good enough. I didn't get whether the taste of pulao was not good or jeera rice was too good that after having jeera rice pulao was not at all taste good. Afghani chicken was like amazing. It was too good. Still I can feel the taste of it. I don't know how they cooked it but it has everything. Not much spices not much sour not much hot everything was equally balanced and the taste was like so good. But they over cooked the chicken butter masala and it didn't taste good much. Pork fry was again awasom.
Coming to service. Service is too slow there. They took nearly 1 hour to deliver our foods. We drunk water during the time to control our hunger.
A well maintained restaurant for family outing.
Beautiful place to go out wid family or friends🌸🌹🌹🌹🌹,Yummy food as well n presentation is also beautiful😍😍😍😍😍😍.As this place is situated near my house so its a amazing place to hangout wid parents, interior is too beautiful😍💞
As a true blue Axomiya, an Assamese thali never fails to excite and entice me! And staying far away from home, a thali as exquisite as ours is always a personal favourite.
We went to our favourite restaurant and decided to go with the usual suspects, in addition to the thali - ari masor tenga, pork and mustard fish. My thali was the fish thali.
All the portions were generous and we couldn’t complain about one single dish! Even the aloo pitika was out of the world. The fish thali is different because you get to taste three different types of fish dishes. My only request would be to use a better Rohu piece because the one I was served was tiny and quite frankly a little broken.
Would love to come here again!
Good ambience & service, the assamese ethnic food like the fish tenga, pork, the traditional rice was very nicely prepared. The dessert could have been a bit better with a little more vaiety.
One of the branches of this popular chain and have to say they have mantianed consistent quality. The ambience and decor is quite good and has a fairly large space for a good dining experience. We had ordered rice, matikalai dal, borali fish and egg curry and each of the items were good to taste. A definite stop for anyone looking for good Assamese food.
A very nice place to have authentic thali dishes. This restaurant is famous for its pork and duck dishes. I went there for a family dinner and was surprised at the place's ambience - widespread seating area, nice arrangements and a cosy feel. Fans of Assamese dishes will love this place because of its menu. Food is amazing and prices are okay while the service can be improved. All in all, a perfect place for an assamese meal or a meal with family. Cheers!

A great experience. Really liked it and wish to visit the place in future as well.
Ambience: great
Food- Pork in bamboo shoot: great taste
Chicken in black dal: simple (above average)
Duck fry: above average
Mushroom: good
Overall: a must visit if you want to try a lot of things at one go in Guwahati.
Located near the balaji temple, it's got some real good food to offer.
Great interiors with good ambience.
A bit pricy but the taste won't allow to complain.
Tried the chicken biryani, it was really very good served in a real good quantity.
In my second visit, tried the Tandoori chicken & Duck dry fry. The tandoori was my absolute favourite both in taste as well as in quantity.
A must visit place in the city.
Food was great one of the dishes we ordered were the chicken butter masala the gravy was so creamy and the only word to describe it is delicious. The butter naan was amazing it was cooked perfectly not burnt but still was awesome. My father ordered duck the dish was only subpar when compared to the chicken butter masala but my father said that it tasted like homemade.
The ambience of the place was nice really quiet and peaceful the furniture and interior was simple and all wood.
Price wise the place is a bit pricy but they gave 8 medium portions of chicken for Rs. 350 and on the note quite a good place to hang out at or come to with friends and family.

For an authentic Assamese mouthful , this place is a delight . Their huge thaali is sufficient for the most hungriest of the lot . The staff and the ambience is wonderful . Must try their pork delicacies with some Johar rice !
Its a great place for eating out with family and friends.lovely service and really hygenic.Reasonable pricing is a good feature of this place.
I really appreciate the interior of the restaurant ...bamboo furniture and aroma of Assamese food....makes the place authentic Assamese restaurant. Basically it's heaven for non veggies almost all kind of non veg dishes are served here. But being a veggie it didn't let me down too.... I had ordered kadai paneer, baby corn masala and dal fry which was finger liking ...!! It's value for money place and best place for fine dining with family and friends.
The food here is good and affordable. The ambience is well maintained with traditional bamboo structure composed with a glassy interior. Good for family gatherings. The indian thalis and chicken items are worth it!
Great food. Try the bamboo shoot pork and Ari fish curry with rice. The chicken curry was just like it would be at home. The service did take long and it was almost 40 minutes before we got our food.
Awesome. Delicious. Tasty. Reasonable Price. Assamese Food Item Available. Nice Environment. Silent Place. Best Place for Eat. Sitting Arrangement is Nice.
This place is so spacious and the decor is just perfect.
Have had their non veg thali which was good. The pigeon and chicken curries are really yummy as well. If anyone is looking for some authentic Assamese cuisine, this is the place to go
One of the best places for a weekend family outing. Their location on the highway makes for a great meal away from the noise and rush of the city. The restaurant has a vast seating area clad with bamboo and wooden furniture which adds to the subtle ambience. Though usually crowded their service is good. Coming to the food, their dishes are absolutely amazing and well cooked. Assamese people will feel at home.
Assamese people are the best people they love to eat food.. and yes here is the place where the food is perfect for axomiya people you will find everything served here
This place is a perfect spot for a weekend lunch or dinner with your family and friends. It justifies its name with all the varities of delicates which are wonderful to taste. The menu has a special page dedicated to Assamese cuisine which beautifully describes Assam's home made local food both on your plate and in your taste buds. Besides this you can also browse through different segments like chineese, vegeterian etc.
Awesome Assamese traditional food ...I loved the thali and also the duck items are must try , loved the chicken and pork , been here many times, service and ambience is nice ... Location is prime .
I have been to this place few days back. The place is easily noticeable from the road. The place is good for family and groups. The place has a nice ambience. Talking about the food, the food was good but I guess the pricing was little high than usual.

Gams delicacy is one of my favourite place to grab Assamese traditional and authentic delicacies .
Pretty affordable and pocket friendly rates.
Located just opposite to Moniram Dewan trade centre it's a wonderful place to spent a beautiful time with some yummy food. Infrastructure is made quite well and all of bamboo . It also gives you a feel of a resort and children's can enjoy and play around too.
Serving you authentic vegetable thali and with proper presentation in Assamese traditional plates and bowls (Kahor kahi Bati) with kaji nemo and dali bota.
Also we ordered for pigeon with pepper (paro jaluk di) , fish roast( guroi mas pura) , and also local chicken curry ...
Overall it was awesome...👍
Delicacy is also famous for amazing duck recipes which are yummy too and a must try...
It's one of the few places in Guwahati to offer authentic Assamese food and they are really good at that. The ambience is soothing as it provides a rustic feel despite being an indoor restaurant.
I went there on a Sunday with my family. Upon entering, I encountered the scent of Bamboo Shoot. I ordered Fish Tenga ( Ari with Thekera), Rice, Dal and Mix Veg. Food was really light to the stomach and tasty to the taste buds. Really enjoyed it.

Do not judge a book by its cover- this phrase totally relates to Gam's Delicacy. The entry can be very deceiving, but once inside, the one hall restaurant has the capacity to seat 40-45 tables. The beams and columns of the structure has been made completely of bamboo and also there is enough parking space at the back. Do no worries. There are two Delicacy in the area so be sure that you get the right one, the one where the flyover which is besides the ISBT ends.
Coming to the food, we wanted to try out the Thali but since we were a little late for lunch, there was none left. But this place did not disappoint. We had Rice, Ari Fish Tenga, Local Chicken Fry, and Mushroom Masala.
The Ari Fish Tenga was to die for. Subtle taste and texture just explodes your senses. The fish had very few bones and was so fresh. Even the Local Fry Chicken was very interesting. Not your regular KFC fried chicken. It was fried in onions and some spices which were quite a good combination.
I am just waiting to get an excuse to visit this place again- hopefully soon.
Not sure why the items are over priced considering the location where it is located. Food is okay types but service is good. Need to relook their menu
A bit overpriced for than the other dhabas n roadside eateries of Guwahati, the food is supppperb.. Masala khulchas is one of the best I has in the city n the Hyderabadi chicken is also quite tasty. If you are willing to spend around 300-350 per person, go there and have it..
A perfect ambience along with some delicious indian dishes........hyderabadi chicken along with masala kulcha is a must try........only problem is the transport facility after 8 pm...so do make sure that you come back within that stipulated time if you are not carrying your own vehicle........
Awesome ambience and well trained staff..as it was a sunday we had to wait for a while after placing the order..but i must say ..it was worth a wait...we had veg meal with local chicken fry n khadai paneer...just one word 'DELICIOUS'..
Gams Delicacy serves ethnic cuisine of the North-East. It is a restaurant chain having their outlets in Ganeshguri, NH-37, Betkuchi and one even in Delhi.
We went for lunch on a weekend to this particular NH-37 outlet and found it to be fairly crowded --- mostly families. It has a very welcoming entrance and has easy parking space. Assam being a land of various species of bamboo, the interiors has bamboo in it. And to add to the ethnic look they serve food in bell metal utensils and copper jugs.
The menu is quite an extensive one with a wide array of veg and non-veg dishes. The menu also has the english names of the dishes written which makes it easier for the non-Assamese people to understand and order. There were 3 of us and we ordered 3 veg thalis and one duck curry with gourd. Once we were done ordering we were served with an appetizer with ginger and pepper. As soon as we finished, our order was served. The veg thali came with a portion of joha rice, khaar, moong daal, black daal, small potato fry, mashed potato , brinjal fry and kheer. Liked it. The duck curry was just perfect ---- perfectly cooked duck meat pieces with gourd. Our satisfying lunch ended with a traditional 'paan'.
I have been to Gam's Delicacy before, at their Ganeshguri outlet and each time it was perfect. And keeping upto it, Gam's Delicacy Beltola didn't disappoint me. The food portions were good, the service was quick, nice ambience and not that expensive - wat else do we need??
Will definitely visit again and again!!!
their veg thali is something that i always order. right in proportion and also the choice of local fish that is available. I like going to this place because somehow they have been able to maintain their quality of food, however i was once taken aback with the duck curry that i ordered. i got a stale smell. that was a major turn off, but however i kept going there and can say that their fish, chciken and mutton are worth giving a try.
cant get enough of their payash that they serve before you close your plate.
I was in the North-East for a holiday and one thing that is always included in my list while travelling is to savour the local cuisine. And so zomato it was. The list was narrowed to 4 restaurants and the driver was asked for suggestion. Gams Delicacy was zeroed. We were served a welcome drink which was more or less like a soup. Food was Yellow dal, Ari fish, Chicken with banana flowers and Mixed vegetables. We enjoyed the food. Can't really comment cause I'm not a connoisseur of Assamese food and we had it for the first time. But whatever we had of it, it was good!
Ordered Assamese veg thaali and pigeon meat fry....the thaali was average, nothing worth mentioning, except the Khaar which was tasty....the pigeon meat fry was gud but not exceptionally gud....the best thing bout d restaurant s its ambience....its a nyc place to sit n chat n d staff are cordial ....
Only ethnic food place in Guwahati that has maintained its quality. Food is not spicy and represents Assamese home cooked meals. Assamese Thaali, a pork skewer (khorika) and a piece of fried fish is good to make one full. Their fish pieces are pretty big and well worth the buck. Never tried and will never try other Chinese/ Mughlai stuff there. The small fish fry is very nice and worth a try.

Great great great place to throw birthday parties. Awesome food awesome ambience awesome price. Just during the durga puja times it didn't quite remained upto it's standard maybe because of the huge guests. Overall a paisa vasool place.
Nice assamese cuisine.....didnt like the small fish fry much though. The khar, aloo pitika, sabji, shak and ol really make you feel like eating at home.....!!
The food is very nice in this place. I went with my friends. Tried the traditional thali with chicken curry which was awesome and quantity was also very good. The restaurant is nicely decored and gives a traditional feel. service was fast and rates are also reasonable. We paid 692 for three which doesnt pinch your pocket. Noticeably the thali was also served with tasty sweet dish at the end. Overall the food gives you a kick and makes you visit this place again and again.
Eating assamese cuisine being an assamese can be considered as identity crisis but when you go to gams delicacy the scenario is changed completely. located on the outskirts of the city the best part is that there is ample place for parking the that the restaurant itself is huge. decorated in a very ethnic fashion with bamboo poles the place is very pretty to look at. The sitting areas and tables are very spacious and you dont get the cramped feeling of a city restaurant. Coming to the food the Paror Jool (Pigeon Curry) is heavenly and is a must have as is the Kumurai di bonua hah (Duck prepared with gourd). Although there is an array of chinese and north indian dishes available these are to be avoided if possible. If you love assamese cuisine the place is one of the best in the city. The meals can be ended with Payosh (Rice pudding) which increases the assamese feeling of the whole place. so whenever you are in the need to show off your tradition in cuisine to your out of town friends take them to Gams delicacy
being born and brought up in guwahati, i have a special affinity to everything assamese...my last visit to guwahati ended on a delectable note with the discovery of this fantastic restaurant in the bustling area of beltola...
food: i can give a full 5 on 5 for the variety and the taste of food they serve...absolutely authentic taste from the villages of upper and lower assam...be in kukura kumura (chicken with pumpkin), or pork in bamboo shoot...be in khaar tenga or aloo pitika...be in maasor tenga (fish in a sour tomato based stew) or maati daali (assamese lentils)...the menu can floor your taste buds with all...the only lacuna in the menu was the dessert section...which i feel should incorporate more of local assamese pithas (like narikol ladu, teel mitha, ghila pitha etc...)....
decor: simple and sober...beautifully decorated with bamboo work...the shades of khaki n ochre yellow with green coasters on the table give it a very ethnic look...kindly keep up the same standards in ur washrooms too!!!...
service: was good...not great though...but pardonable considering the rush hour...
in short...an amazing place to baptise ur taste buds with local authentic assamese food...ekdom chhaliya!!!!
