A really nice restaurant with a pleasant ambience. I've ordered home delivery quite a few times and have been to the restaurant a few times too. Food is great, both quality and taste is Fab!
This is one of the oldest restaurant/bar in the GS Road which was always successful in pulling the unique clientele consisting of both the traditionalist and the progressive. They don't believe in much advertisement as they are always house full and people often revisit them once they enjoy their food, bar menu and service.
Their trademarks are:
1. Simple, Frank and welcoming hospitality team which always greet them with a smile.
2. Customisable Cocktail according to your taste and strength.
3. Delicious food especially Non-veg items.
4. Different floor for different occasions. Like family gathering mostly in 1st Floor, Bar and Drink in 2nd Floor, Private Party in 3rd Floor.
5. Clear view of the GS Road at Down Town.
6. Proximity to the famous Pandit Shop for Pan Lover (;P)

Good quality and yummy food but little expensive.. nice and clean place.. this place is good for hanging around with friends and family.. Highly recommended.
Restaurant is very easy to noticed. Have two floor arrangement. Decoration is simple not as expected. Waiters are well mannered. We have ordered Lak me kai and chicken fried rice. One plate each dishes are enough for 2 people. All are well cooked, good in taste. And they really took very less time to prepare the food. Best restaurant to visit if you are in hurry. 👍
Excellent food with courteous staff. Highly recommended restaurant in GS road. Thanks for such a lovely dinner.
The staff is very strong in keeping their integrity. Thanks for keeping our bag safe with you.
Loved this place. With live music playing in the background is soothing. The food was great too. I didn't like the chill panner though but the other dishes were really good especially the butter chicken masala. Great place. I'll definitely recommend it.
Great service. Live music. Mostly from 90s which we totally loved. Delicious starters. Great place to spend a good time with friends over drinks.
Food is totally yummy
Love evrythng about dis place
Home delivery service is also very good
Good job guys keep it up👍🏻
Evn the party arrangements are superb gave my daughters 1st birthday party dr service is awsum i m vry satisfied
Tried the chinese chopsuey non-veg. Quantity and Quality was good compared to the Price. Interiors are okay. Service is good. They also served complimentary food.
Visited this place twice.. loved the ambience, service and food.. ordered "Lat me kai", chicken starter which was too yum.. in love with their schezwan chicken fried rice..
Recipes is a good place to bring your family, reasonably priced. Great experience with home delivery too. However, it needs to change the menu just a tad bit to make it more interesting.
This place located on GS Road and opposite to Novotel is a very decent place. With separate fine dine and bar setup at the place, they serve some good mutton and chicken compared to the other places in Guwahati.
Went there with mum and sis...staff was v polite and well behaved. Service was a little slow but excellent. Food was heavenly... ordered Gulabi sikh kabab, paneer lababdar and chicken kalimirch. Each of the dishes was better than the other... :)
Good food, good place, good location. Service is good. The green mutton curry (palak gravy) is worth a try!! A good place to have some drinks and food!!
Visited on 25/9/17 to have lunch. Ambience good but the stairs leading to the entrance were broken. Hopefully management will look into it!!
Food was overall good(can strive for better), service was prompt coz there were no customers!! The behaviour of the staff was good and courteous.
For starters we ordered lak me kai chicken. Felt it could be more drier.
Main course consisted of vegetable pulao, recipe special chicken, paneer 65 and mutton ragangosh. Mutton was a bit on the undercooked side.
Dessert consisted of vanilla ice cream.
Located in the centre of the city...
Yummy fried prawns and grilled pompret must.
Live music was cool and service was typical lahe lahe (Assamese) 😉
Overall pleased will certainly visit next time INSHALLAH
Visited this place for several times..tried 7-8 items so far and all turned out quite good, taste wise as well as quality and quantity wise..Chicken winglets is a must try...Good ambience, great food and really friendly and co-operative staff... It's an ideal place for dinning with family, friends or couples...the location and the restaurant itself is spacious...highly recommended for those who want to avoid much crowded places and loud music...and yes the tune of soft piano music adds the extra touch or plus point...
We had Chinese choupsey and chicken tikka both were very tasty. The fish rahra could have been better. Portions were good size. Service speed could be improved
The food is great here, specially the sea food section. They make good squids and lobsters.
Nice ambience. Sometimes live music takes place.
The waiters are well spoken and well mannered.
As a first visit this place turned out to be quite good. Although it is an old place i visited it for the first time last week. The fish fingers were nice and plump accompanied by a really flavourful mayo dip. As per the size of the portions there are few restaurants that serve eight pieces in one plate so that was an added bonus. Ordered hakka veg noodles and chicken with peppers and onions which turned out to be decent enough. One thing which i must mention is that most upscale places nowadays prepare their hakka chow with very little amount of soya sauce as was the case here. Maybe its diet friendly but hakka chow is supposed to have a generous helping of good soy. All in all a good place to chill and have good food. Hated their choice of music though.
Order aloo Parantha and caramel custard wow it's mind blowing, specially d chutney awsome taste.... I rely loved it.... Keep it up!!!!!! In future I will order again

Silk Route sibling or feels like one and falls in the same route and on the same side, too. Food on the other hand is versatile not taste wise but quantity wise. Food taste as same as many other neo restaurant's like silk route or Terra Maya ! Good ambience and lovely staff a point higher than it's sibling and you can enjoy the very famous Pandits Pan, just a step beside the restaurant building...
Went there with a friend for a casual chit chat. Food was good and so was the ambiance. Service too was satisfactory. The did made the theme more or less like silk route. MOre detail review awaited :)
It is a fine dining restaurant with a beautiful ambience. Perfect for a dinner date or even a family lunch/dinner. The interiors are beautiful. Seating arrangements have been made in two levels. I have been to this place a couple of times and was impressed by their service. The place is a bit pricey, but the food makes up for it. Murg malai methi with pulao gave me a foodgasm! Will love to visit this place again.

Its a nice place . The food however, takes a little longer than usual to arrive and food is not as expected. For eg. I asked for a spicy item and was suggested to try chicken hunani but when it came it was rich to taste rather with spicy.
A gud plce to hang out fr a drink n dine... Excellant service..great ambience.. . D live piano music add to its glamor...food is good. .. Bt try d biriyani wth caution!! Cos d day v tasted, It ws yuck..... D rest items wer awesom...
Ideal to go out with family and friends.food quality is good but quantity is a bit less.but worth a try in here. The menu has a wide range of dishes to offer. I loved the chicken butter masala there along with the naan... parking is available but its too less.
I love this place because its has a very good window view food is good both quality and quantity is perfect interior is good and ya staffs too

Recipes is a beautifully made restaurant for perfect family dinners. It's an awesome place to be but yes the rates are little over priced I feel so but overall it's good. Service is gentle and skilled. Service is over all great.
I have been there for twice I guess and the food is not disappointing ever.. Being a Chinese lover I always ended up for some drums of heaven , some fish fingers and honey chicken with Hakka noodles non veg ..
And I loved all the food delights..
Fantastic place to be 👍
This was where I celebrated my Birthday last year (was my 3rd visit). One of the better places in town. They are one of the few restaurants who have the courtesy of providing complementary starters, which is pretty impressive. The service is highly commendable and they make you feel like guests and not customers. The food, the ambience, etc. is just marvellous.
The huge chandlier on the ceiling ads to the beauty. The food needs a little time to be served but it's worth the wait. Overall a perfect 5/5 for recipes.
An awesome place with super awesome side dishes with marvellous servicing and amazing ambience.
Spent super Quality times with super awesome people. Mistakenly once took a langoor with us who spoiled the show, apart from that each visit is memorable. Had few awesome memories around, would definitely come down if ever get s chance to re visit Guwahati.
We were provided a table at the second floor.
The place is very Comfortable and relaxing!
Pleasant vibes all around, Extremely decent & adept staff, And comfortable seating arrangements.
Before d food we tried a mocktail, (it being a dry day that day) it was refreshing.
Began with the Pan fried chicken appetisers; ordered the Chicken Faridpuri with Butter Naan, and Hyderabadi Biryani(chicken) finishing off with the Caramel custard.
Loved every bit of food!! (and for a change loved d biryani at a non-biryani-exclusive restaurant)
(In spite of the fact that even after pre-booking a table over phone, after letting them sort out an issue at their own convenience, that they had with providing us a table on the date we wanted, we had to somewhat hurry on the D-day cos of the entire place being booked for a party later d same day. We went for lunch late afternoon and had to leave before evening.))
Nonetheless, I would say, it is now One of my favourites!! :)
(Ratings - Food, Lovely ambience, Location and a lil extra for the lovely staff :))
I went there yesterday with my family for dinner. The ambiance was really nice and the seats were spacious. The decorations were simple but elegant. The most awesome thing was there was a live artist playing the piano and boy he was really good. The waiters were polite and efficient. The order took some time to come(a bit more than normal),nothing too serious. The starters came(fried mushroom and fish fingers) before the main course which was a good. The food was excellent. We ordered Lamb roast, plain rice, daal, black pepper Chicken, butter chicken, salad. The salad was neatly served(the arrangement of salad is never my concern but some people are bothered by it).The presentation was really nice too. The butter chicken was the only dish which wasn't up to my expectations. The rice was given in huge volume. 3 plates of rice was too much for 6 people(plain rice). There is alcohol and cocktails for those who are interested. (No we didn't try it). The cost was a bit high relatively.
Visited Recipes a number of times as it is located very near to my house...Nicely made up interiors with big tables yet quite spacious. Food quality is good n the service is prompt. I personally like hilsa with mustard n the prawn malai curry. The drums of heaven is truly heavenly.
Pros:
Quality of food
Quantity of food
Ambience
Interiors
Service
Cons:
Parking
Quality is inconsistent
Although the interiors and the food are quite good, the inconsistency worries me. They can do much better. The parking is also a problem. Although not in the outskirts, as it isn't in the commercial and entertainment hub of the city, isn't visited to people regularly.
Went to this place for lunch. A very well maintained and clean and spacious restaurant it is. The staff seemed very smart. The menu is like any other good Indian restaurant but the food was extremely delicious and well presented. A very nice place to take out your date to. :)
It's a peaceful restaurant, considering the very limited seating space, there are not many people to make the place chaotic. The food is good and so is their presentation of the food as well. The order taker and the servers are quite alert yet give you your space while enjoying your meal. The food is served with the right amount of spices and optimal usage of oil as well.
I discovered this place with my grandfather fr the first time :) nd we found the perfect palates..nd there's a beautiful banquet hall too for partying nd boozing!! Wid grt food ;)
Great place. The location coupled with the ambience and food makes for a good time. The addition of live music is the cherry on the top. An evening well spent...
I will rate this small restaurant as the best restaurant in Guwahati. Food is brilliant along with excellent service. Try any north indian dish and they will blow your mind. Home delivery is fast and the best in Guwahati
After going through the positive reviews, I decided to move into this place for luncheon... Located at a very busy place this restaurant has its own charm from the outside... A sense of calmness with soothing music in the background and the comfortable two tier sitting arrangement makes a perfect ambience... The Peppery Hot Fish which I ordered as appetizer was voraciously appetizing... The main course too did not disappoint as I enjoyed till the last bite... The staff was quite courteous and polite... ANOTHER GEM OF AN EATERY IN GS ROAD...
N.B.- Addition of some more items will make the menu look more appealing!!!
Good quality foods with nice ambience (live music). I will recommend it for food lovers. Variety of foods are available. Little bit costlier but affordable.
Came here with my family for dinner here....a soothing ambience with nice music welcomes u....
They 1st served us chatni with finger-chips which were delicious n then We started off with soup- lung fung chicken soup. The best part is if u dont want prawn they will serve u prawnless soup! It wasnt spicy but tasted nice....then v had veg pulau n masala kulcha with chicken afgani. Pulau n kulcha were both tasty n up to the mark but the gravy couldnt be much apreciated if u like spicy food.
Overall it was a fine dining with really helpful staff!
Excellent restaurant with classy ambience... thoroughly enjoyed food with decent background piano music...impressed a lot with their services... will visit soon
Awesome resturent wd awesome services nd food......i just loved be there......whenevr i feel hungry aftr comin from classes nd no feel like cookin food.....i run to them......coz i live near by

The taste of the Indian food at the Recipes is something unforgettable. I have tried many dishes many a times at this place and the taste of the ones that still lingers around my mouth are the Chicken Reshmi Kabab, Mughlai Biryani, Mutton Kasha and Murgh Hariyali. The Chinese cuisine of the restaurant too are rich in taste and aroma and the moments I had spent in this dine and wine food joint are the best experiences so far.
Great food is not great until there is a great ambiance, a perfect dim light atmosphere and of course, the keyboard playing downstairs. The keyboard player had an awesome grip over the songs he played and made it a moment to remember for me and my fiancé. This is a food joint that remained our favourite even before and after our marriage.
The reason I giv a 4 star is the music!! Lovely.. very soothing keyboard in the background and they would also play the music on ur request. . Nice place for fine dining.. good food.. I really liked the nirth indian.. wasnt much impressed with the chinese though.. you can try a "veg platter"... if u ar fond of tandoori..
This place is a good place for dining out indian cuisines ! I have been there a quite number times and my experience was a little above average! The staffs are not that qualified and the ambience( they should do something about the mosquitoes)! I find the food good but not exatraordinary or something really great! The starters are recommended! Overall this place is good

This place has wonderful ambience and good music plays in the backdrop. It is quite spacious which cheers you up. The food here is not that extraordinary but not that bad also. They take a little more time to deliver your order (at least, it happened with me). But if you can wait, that's not a problem. Service is good. I won't mind visiting this place again.
Been there many a times. Specially for lunch from office in days of crisis. One might find it a bit expensive and a lot of time is taken in preparing one's food but what you get in the end is excellent. One of the best Indian Food that is available around dispur. Plus, they have parking.
EASY TO LOCATE AND EASY TO REWIND AFTER A HOT SUNNY DAY with the keyboardist playing some wonderful tune. The restaurant has a ground floor which is actually a first floor and the second is actually the first floor. Confusing ? you can visit it to know what I meant . The food is actually served very fast , I loved the butter rotis but nothing spectacular, the panner butter masala was up there but still not there, actually it was served very fast so I doubt if they prepared the dishes before hand . I have even tasted their boneless garlic chicken a chinese delicacies but I remixed it with some NAAN so couldnot get the summation neither the desire result. But one thing I found is they dont serve very spicy stuff it suits the common man in general . They are also baby friendly in case you have little kids with you. Overall a good restaurant .
Food is excellent specially the mughlai cuisines.. Chinese food not upto expectation. Atmosphere is very good. A bit costly..
Good food at reasonable price
Good food at reasonable price. But a little bit congested.
I didn't have much expectations but the starters are good. I ordered twice and the Chinese is pretty decent. The drumsticks were juicy and tasty. Chilli Chicken Gravy was okay, can't say it was great. The chicken spring rolls are also good. I had got my food delivered. Although the restaurant is 10 minutes from my place. Delivery time is long. Once before the order, I was told it will take 1.5 hours. So I didn't place the order. Otherwise also it takes about 45 minutes. You can try it !
Food is delicious..and specially service..it is excellent..
I was one of their very first customers when they opened up. The whole experience was very satisfying. And even now after about two and a half years things hasn't changed. Only got better! Great going. A good pick for Indian cuisine.
Amidst the hustle and bustle of the city during these Durga Puja days we happened to hop into this restaurant with nothing but a huge hunger.... We were seated on the third floor along with my wife and daughter....and just had been way too lucky to get a seat there with so many families coming up after us.....they didn't disappoint us at all....though there was a shortage of wash bowls and green salads there was no shortage of starters and main course....we gave in for Indian menu and were served large proportions for our order....our hunger was satisfied sumptuously and even they were successful in tingling our taste buds......it was rather quite a descent meal and we look forward to visit Recipes again......
The food is good with portions large enough. ambience is mediocre with the service ranging anywhere between poor and satisfactory. take loads of time when u visit.. dont expect quick service.
Positive. Food was satisfactory. Cocktail was nice. Ambience is classy. Service was good. Be it with family or friends, outing for lunch or dinner won't be disappointing at all.
Food tastes great and add the service, presentation... The outing gets awesome...

We visited this theme restaurant a month ago and we really enjoyed it. We had our niece with us and the entire theme of trains coming out with the food plates to the tables was so much fun for all of us.
We ordered crispy chili baby corn, chili chicken, lemonade for starters and biriyani for the main course. We also tried sushi there but the sushi was an utter disaster. The food is really mediocre to be honest. The theme restaurant was all okay but their chef is not that skilled I must say.
Our train got stuck at a moment but they fixed it. Kids would really enjoy this place.

Loved the dinning experience here with my family. We opted for the buffet that was 650-700 approx for one. Starters were too good as compared to bbq nation.. loved the malai tikka and prawns 🍤. Main course was also delicious unlike bbq nation. Desserts , we had ice cream and gulab jamun. Tip- can add brownie or pastry as additional dessert option . Instagram- foodblogghy_
Well mannered staff with good food. Staff are constantly taking care of guest. Nice place to host Birthday party or Anniversary party for 50/60 guests with dedicated celebration hall. Special thanks to Manager of the Restaurant for so accommodating. Best wishes.
We ordered the buffet which was 7/10.
Could be better if there was a digital menu to choose from near the table so that the train can come soon instead of we having to tell the waiter everytime if we need something. The starters were good but the main course was average. I didn't like the crab dish much because of the sweet sauce on top which tastes exactly like druma of heaven sauce and tasted like ketchup. The fish finger was very good to taste and then also the paneer tikka was good. But overall it's good for the price but more than this won't justify it. It was 649 per head for us.
Atmosphere and staff service was good....the food arrives on a train on your table after ordering which was quite unique experience. The food was fine not as good as I expected.
Food was almost good. We have taken the buffet option. It was Rs699 per head. Only the chicken kebab was not up to the mark otherwise all the stuff was good there. I liked fish fingers most there
loved the food and the experience
tried drums of heaven, fish finger, veg pulao, masala kulcha, chicken kadhai, rogini mutton and paneer lababdar
Very well decorated resturant with food service facility with toy train. Kids are enjoying. Food quality is good.
The ambience of the restaurant is very nice.
Service I got was very warming. Dishes I tried all were very tasty .
But the quantity of the main course was very less. My brother in law was only with only two spoons and all the gravies were finished. My husband was waiting for 15 minutes only with pulao without any gravy. After 15 minutes the waiter who was very gentle somehow managed and gave a small bowl of chilli fish which is not cooked properly.
The behaviour of the Manager(in green colour t shirt uniform) was not at all responsive. We want to talk but he did not even bother. The owner should look into it as 650 per person is not a less amount.
Wide variety of foods and that too of great quality. Must try fish fingers. Recipes SPL chicken, Buffet @649 on weekdays and weekends @699 + taxes.
The place is very nice and beautiful. Its a purely family restaurant. You can visit with your family specially kids, they will love it. The food was also good. Parking facility in this place is very good.
Great and awesome environment. Probably the first train restaurant in India. Such an awesome concept, the ambience is really awesome. And the food is good. ❤️
This place was just wow (chummmeshwarri 😝)
But personally I think the food was a little overpriced, personally I think the quality of the food could have been improved. The behaviour of the staff was polite and the servings were good.
I think they were the first restaurant to introduce the Train Restaurant concept here in the Entire Assam if I'm not wrong. Anyways I loved this place
Ps: IF YOU WANT TO VISIT SOMEWHERE A UNIQUE PLACE YOU CAN HAVE THEM AS OPTION BUT MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A SOME AMOUNT OF MONEY INSIDE YOUR POCKET. EXPENSIVE A BIT.

Very good Hospitality.
Tastyyy Food.
Nice Atmosphere.
First of all the service of the staffs was very good and polite and even interactive! The ambience was also great with soothing gud musical taste! Now on to the food department - the quality and presentation along with taste was all perfect 👌 absolutely loved the yummy 😋 food! The price is on the expensive side, suggestion is to visit with family or group of friends so that you can share the bill! We went for a birthday party they take the cake and serve it at the last or whenever you ask on a plate that comes by a TRAIN 🚉...!🎂
**One important thing the price in the menu available on zomato or google is outdated! Actual price is + Rs. 50 for some food items!**
A lovely place to have a hearty meal with friends & family. Beautiful ambience, great service, ample amount of variety- vegetarian, non-veg, seafood, etc., Delicious food... Pretty much everything that you can expect from a great restaurant. ❤️
A train theme restaurant. My all time favourite place with its unique service. Amazing concept of food service with train. Entire restaurant is decorated with train and train lines. I wish I could add a video in this review. Food is very tasty with tempting presentation. Good for friends and family. Also good for small get togetherness.
