This place is near my house so i go to this place quite often and their chena murki is very very tasty and they have wide range of bengali sweets available there and also they have pithas so this is a perfect bengali sweet place
One of the oldest and iconc sweet shops in Guwahati! The samosa's, boiled cake, pati chepta rolls (rice flour batter rolls stuffed with coconut fillings) and many more! The taste is amazing and consistent over the years!

Ever since I've been to Ulubari, I've known this place. They serve one of the best mithais and other salty snacks like samosa, kachoris, cutlets, rolls, etc. Their Rasagullas are my favorite. No other place in Guwahati serves Rasagullas like theirs. They're super soft and sweet and are like balls of heaven 🤤 Their Bundiya Laddoos are delicious too. They get a lot of Customers on a daily basis and also bulk orders. Everything they serve is fresh. The prices are reasonable too. For eg. One laddoo costs Rs10.

I normally have Milk Tea, Pati-Septa pitha with a large filling of coconut, Chana r Jalebi and Dahi Vada... these are always in my list... their Pati-Septa is one of the bestest... do try!!!

I wouldn't say it as anything spectacular or lavish or if the food is out of the world. However, if you have been here when this place first opened or as a child who came here with their parents to taste the treats or with your buddies in the 90's, this place sure holds a lot of memories. Simply speaking, this place hits the nostalgic tape of those who have been a part of it. Every time.
Natives of Guwahati would know that whenever Mistimukh comes into the mind its always associated with their sweet curd. Gradually the quality deteriorated, but still its a pretty good place to have sweets.

An iconic, old sweet shop....Misti-mukh, was established before indian independence....still serving their age-old authentic Bengali styled sweets!
This shop was, once the best sweet shop in Guwahati...where our grandparents used to relish, sweet delicacies like rasogullas and rasmalai...with a cup of tea!
But sadly after the ulubari fly-over bridge was constructed around 10-15years back ...the place, lost its strategic location and customers!
Review-
Food- they still serve one of the best rasogullas and gulab jamun in Guwahati. ..their other sweets are quite good in size and quality. Costs are reasonable. Special mention about a sweet delicacy called 'pati-septa' which is quite good is one of their speciality!
But sadly they don't have that much variety in their menu these days.
Ambience-its a small place with no sitting options,(they have few high tables) where u can stand and eat. Nothing much of an ambience as the shop is located below the bridge and has become dull because of nearby busy dusty road and lack of sunlight.
Service- service is very good. Staffs are very gentle and helpful. The place is clean and hygienic.
There's a parking problem in that area if you want to go there by a car. For two wheelers it's fine.
Overall Misti-mukh is a good option, as a take-away place for traditional Bengali sweets, but i think, it's time they should renovate the place and their menu and make comfortable sitting arrangements to regain their lost charm!
This is one of the iconic & oldest sweet shop in the area...I have been eating in this place since childhood & have lot of memories... however I feel this place has lost the charm with time...u can still find good quality sweets here...but options are not as much as it used to be...

Ever since a child, I have been hearing about this place. Be it any occasion, sweets and snacks are always good, delicious and the environment is clean and hygienic. The 'mishti doi' of that place is famous too. :)
Mishti Mukh is one of the best place to have mishti(sweets) those you love to have it. Being a Bengali i love to have sweets specially the mishti doi(sweet curd) and some of the methai's.

Misti Mukh is a brand that represents Bengali Sweets at its best ! One of the most sweetest (though I am not a fan of sugar or sweets) and delicious sweet's junction in guwahati. Established in 1940's (Official date, original dates back to 1920) by the great sweet heralds of East Bangel (Now Bangladesh). It has a variety of sweets from Kalakand, Pati Septa, Boil Cakes, Kasagulla, Rosogulla, Gulab Jamun, Kala Jamun, Jalebi Misti etc ! Samosa isn't on the top list though other items like paneer chop and cutlet isn't bad. A special mention for Paratha-Sabzi during morning time.
A special note for the Dahi, Misti doi especially which is quite famous and had been for ages...
I can only imagine how long this place goes back in time. I can still remember my mom telin my dad " misti mukhor pora mithai aanibo, aalohi aahibo" ( get some sweets from Misti mukh, we will have some guests today). When it came to sweets, Guwahatians knew this joint amongst other few. Time flew but this joint remained the same. Around a decade back, you could hardly get your choice of sweets since theirz already a long queue ahead of u. But after the construction of the fly over in Ulubari , things have changed a little. But ppl still flock around splly in d evening. Misti doi n sandesh are must try. Mihidana, halwa, malpoa too are mind blowing. I have a emotional attachment with this place, brought back old memories as I wrote this review. The charm of old Guwahati. I sincerely hope this along with few others doesn't get hammered by ever expanding Guwahati.
One of the oldest still the best. The best known for mishti doi. And even i am a die hard fan of it. I would always love to take some time out and go have it. Other then that its still the same and the best.

Lost their glory some years back and there is no concerned effort to take back the lost glory. Pati sappta is still the city's best but other stuffs in most of the times are in the shorter supply side.

Very old shop now renovated. They have a wide range of desserts now a days. Love the khir doi they bring from west bengal., only problem they never have enough stock. If you are late you ain't having desserts for dinner.
Since childhood, I have had vibrant memories of Mishti Mukh..whether its their roshogulla or their iconic 'mishti doi', theirs is a name every sweet lover will vouch for..This outlet has been there from the Neolithic age (literally) and as a child I remember visiting them on Sundays for a pot of mishti doi whenever we had guests..its a 'historic' place gastronomically and not should be written about the ambience or lack of seating for its not a restaurant after all.. Its a place to just go and drench yourself in sweetness..

I remember vividly from the days of yore, social visits to friends' and families' places were never complete without carrying along packets of sweets, samosas, nimkis and pots of mishti doi bought only from Mishti Mukh! The mishti doi, rasgullas, sandesh and the samosas were simply to die for.
But alas, thanks to the relatively newly constructed Ulubari flyover and the growth of the fancy and new sweet shops all over Guwahati, Mishti Mukh has over the years lost its old flare & zing. But how I pray that they revive and give the new kids in the block a run for their money.

Mishti Mukh is very aptly named !One of the earliest sweet shops in Guwahati. It was well located and you couldnt miss it but with the flyover you have to be careful not to miss it. I remember it as a small little roadside outlet and gradually its grown--no doubt thanks to the sweet tooth of the Guwahati natives.
It was a must stop on the way home from office to pick up some of the juicy rasagoolas and assortment of mithais. Over the years its repertoire has improved and quality well maintained. Our Diwali sweets and on other festive occassions aswell the mithais were always ordered from here and they never disappointed.Many new sweet shops have opened but Mishti Mukh still outdoes them.The variety of local favorites and bengali sweets are the popular items although the laddoos,jalebi,and the nimkis are always fresh and tasty.
After tasting the mithai from here you will not be disappointed .
A visit to Mishti Mukh after nearly a decade.Old memories revisited , old taste lingering in my mouth. The cost of sweets might have increased a kheer kadam (Rs 15) but who cares if it tastes like heaven. Today when I visited Mishti Mukh I went into a flashback mode. The ulubari flyover which hides the very existence of this shop and along with it the old Guwahati s favorite sweet shop. In its prime no marriage function or gift will be complete without mithai's from Mishti Mukh. A revamp in decor as well as the new set of tables could be seen. Its a welcome sign, I personally want my old mithai dukan back. Enough of those Western mithai *Ghee coated" . We assamese also have our old heritage and Mishti mukh is also our pride so fellow foodies, superfoodies and big foodies of Guwahati let us revive the old heritage of Guwahati like Guwahati and keep reviewing in zomato.

Where do I start with Misti Mukh ? Located below the flyover in ulubari,there is no parking space and if you leave your car for 2 minutes you are sure to find a policeman whistling at you fervently ! But that doesn't deter the people from entering their favourite sweet shop !
Everything about the place is old school and old fashioned... even the helpers and servers are old ( no pun intended ) ! But the sweets.....oh my god !! They are delectably delicious....once you taste their sweets,everything else seems faded and jaded !
Being a half-Bengali I have a major sweet tooth and once i go there,I just go berserk !! From rashogullas,pati shaptas,sondesh,lalmons to mishti dois.....it's a one stop sweet shop for me.Though they have no seating arrangement,just a couple of tables where you can stand and taste their delights.....it hardly matters as there' s no way you are going to sit,you'll be going back and forth for more and more sweets !!
They have samosas and kachoris which are the way it should be....deep fried and tasty ! Kheer is not always available but if you are lucky you may find some in the evenings....and it's divine ! The channamurkhis ( a sweet made out of milk channa) are also yummy !!
Mishti Mukh is legendary when it comes to sweets,though many sweet shops have come up in the city offering an array of sweets.....nothing beats the taste and charm of this place.Locating it might be a problem for first timers,once you reach that area just ask for Mishti Mukh and everyone will instantly direct you !
Being a bengali sweet house their usp are the authentic bengali sweets ! Dont go there for the kaju barfees,it's a place to taste the pati shaptas and channamurkhis !! Their mishti dois are worth taking home for after- dinner treats !!

I still remember one time when I had gone to visit an elderly couple during Diwali with a box of sweets from Mishti Mukh....the lady refused to take the sweets saying they had already received many boxes but when I mentioned that it was from Mishti Mukh.....she said,"from Mishti Mukh ? then I don't mind " and swiftly took it inside !!

Stand and eat is the format of this restaurant. Though it was a huge and stand-alone brand in Guwahati some 15-16 years back, but I guess coming up of the Ulubari Flyover has killed it's popularity.
The basic problem - NO Parking in and around. You have to risk your car/bike under the flyover.
Though the quality of sweets and associated items is very good, however, lack of polularity and lack of footfall has decreased it's quality, what it was 10-15 years back.
Not a huge crowd puller, but still communation of the people serving there is humble and good.

Some of the best sweets of the city. The management should emphasis on adding some more varieties of sweets. The pitha (patisapta) and chop (cutlet) are among the best. They Don't accept card or upi payments. Only cash, as of March 2022.

My favourite sweetmeat shop in Guwahati. The sweets are very good. But I was disappointed at the sweet curd which is not sweet enough. The sandesh is excellent. The location near Ulubari chariali was also an excellent prime location earlier but has become somewhat hidden due to the flyover. Quite an old sweetmeat shop. One of the oldest well renowned sweet houses in the city ... Quality is always A+ grade ... I Still remember when I was a kid in Bihu Time my Father used to take me there to get Curd 5.am in the morning cause that was so good & in demand if u went few hours later I will be out of stock !! That is the legacy of this sweet house !! People used to wait in line .... Just for it to open.... There are many other sweet house in the area but this is by far the best in ulubari region & no one has been able to take away it's crown 👑!!!

The salty snacks that I tried there was a pleasant surprise. It was very delicious. However, the sweet quality I guess has gone down a bit than what it was years ago.
Although a very popular sweet outlet in guwahati but the quality of a few products are not up to the mark.... the.misti doi, kacha golla is always awesome in the shop.
