One of the oldest and most amazing place for cake in Guwahati. Had been travelling all over India but something special about the Blackforest here is priceless. It has maintained its quality along with the price perfectly over decades. The attachment to this place for Guwahatians is eternal indeed!
I visited this shop on Christmas day and it was so beautifully decorated.Had nut pastry and as the name suggests it was loaded with nuts and very yummy!

Best and oldest in town still serving the yummiest bakery items you can think of. Birthday cakes are softest ever. Other items like chicken and corn patties, cheese sandwich, paneer roll are a speciality. Staff appointed can be a little smart too compared to the place itself it is. Otherwise no complaints. Have been visiting this place and will keep visiting always. Places like this brings happiness and childhood memories fresh.
I went there recently with my special one. The place is filled with a warm friendly ambience. Due to Christmas and New year, it was well decorated with lights that added to the refreshment.
Food..it was good . We tried peanut pastry and chicken sandwich. They were delicious. Cappucino was okay type.
The place is a bit congested and so you may not find enough seats during busy evening. But should be good for couples and 2 -3 persons which I didn't consider as cons as it is supposed to be a tiny cafe to spend some quality time without much people around.
Have a go at this place if you love to explore city cafes.

I am so emotionally attached to this place that I make it a point to visit and gobble up the delicious Black Forest pastry & the scrumptious Chicken Patty every day I can for the time I come home. I stay at a walking distance from the place & it has delivered my cakes from the day I was born and at present, all cakes in my house still comes from here. The amazing part is, over the course of time, the taste has not changed a bit. One bite and I get transported back in time to all the good memories I have with my friends, classmates and family. Quite a few competitive & posh bakeries have come up but Eggs’o’tic was, is and will be my all time favorite hands down.

Its the oldest and the first one in guwahati. Over the years its quality and taste is still the same. Their strawberry cakes and choclate cakes and their chicken patty is my all time favourite. Behaviour of the staffs are very gentle.
The rates have rised almost twice yet it's not updated . Zomato is known for true facts so expecting a new menue at the earliest with correct values of the product
I think I am the biggest fan of this place. There might be many upcoming dessert places in Guwahati but my love for this place cannot be replaced. So, happy to see you guys on Zomato.
The quality of the cakes and pastries or rolls of your outlet is awesome. Awesome also in price. My personal favorite is Black Forest and Plain CHocolate cake. Every time we have any occasion at our place, a cake from your shop is a must!

This outlet is perhaps the oldest place to sell good quality pastries and birthday cakes. Its been here for as long as i can remember. The quality of the food is really good. Recently (around one year back), I had gone to buy a cake and there was hardly a cake available. They should try to keep up with the changing times, otherwise they are sure to disappear one day. Anyways, nothing to complain because this shop has fed us throughout the decades!

Eggsotic is one of the oldest pâtisseries in the city. It has two outlets within a close proximity from each other. All decorated in pastel hues, Eggsotic gives you a calm British vibe. The food is awesome. I would recommend the Nut Pastry and Cheese Sandwich.

Being one of the first pastry shop to be opened in Guwahati, this place has still been able to provide the best services till date. Their pastries are commendable and unique in the sense that you won't get to have the exact taste in other cafes. I'm always fond of this place since childhood as this place holds many reasons for my tooth decay😄

Well this has been my favourite and the most frequent outlet since childhood. I remember during my school days, our faculty school bus would drop us at barowari and I would have had to pass through this outlet on my way home to chenikuthi. The smell, the aroma of the bakery products would draw me and my friend Anjan Das over there.
How can I forget the taste of Rumball and Eclairs... The mesmerizing taste was such that we used to feel it with our eyes closed... I shall remember this place forever...

I am writing the review for the café the got near Latasil. It was my first time over there, and what I loved is how clean and cosy everything was especially since it was a rainy day and the warm interior was perfect. We had mochas and the black forrest pastry and jam tart. And I loved the pastry and the unique aroma it has. And the coffee was good and so filling. I would go there again for sure. But they need to have a few more types of pastries over there.
The entrance of eggsotic is just wonderful. I loved the decor. On one evening my friend and i were just passing by and then i noticed this pastry shop. Its entrance decor really attracted me. And as i am a pastry lover i couldnot pass the shop without trying any of it and we two walked into it. And to all my wonder i found the pastries to be so yum. One of the best pastry shop i visited.
And its my favourite pastry shop in the city . And mine all time favourite is black forest from this place. Everytime i visit here i make sure i have a piece of black forest . Eggsotic is a place, that is extremely close to my heart. As a student in St. Mary's, I wouldn't leave a single chance to visit this eatery and devour its delicacies. And everytime I went there as a child I would be mesmerized with the different kinds of confection and savoury pieces.
I visited eggsotic after a while today but was a bit disappointed with its food. I ordered the paneer roll as the very popular mutton roll was not there and my sister ordered the classic black forest cake. The paneer roll lacked seasoning because of which I had to accompany it with ketchup which might not sound like a big deal but for me it was because the food in eggsotic never required any dip or ketchup before as it tasted like a piece of heaven just the way it was made. Although the black forest had not lost its touch, it did lose its quantity, a pastry that costs 55 rupees ought to be bigger than the one we received.
The roll cost me 70 rupees which was not worth it.
The interior had the same old British essence, but we need the the taste of old eggsotic back.

The mother... possibly the grandmother of all cake shops in Guwahati. Eggsotic revolutionized cakes in Guwahati in the early eighties, when we just stepped in school. The back forest cakes...yum yum yum...
Before the shop came it, it was only Sheik Brothers and Diamond bakery with their hard icing in fluroscent pinks, greens and yellows with a peculiar smell of preservative...
But Eggsotic changed that. The chicken patty was delicious too...
But now times have changed. I don't know if they still live up tho their once glorious standards.

Probably one of the oldest shops in Guwahati of it's kind selling pastries. This place can be said to be the trendsetter of the upcoming bakeries and pastry shops that we see today in almost every nook and corner of the city. The pastries of this place is good but the lack of sitting space is the only problem here. Their black forest cake is a must try if and when you visit this place
N.B: one of the must visit places for people with sweet tooth.
This is the original cake shop in Guwahati - the trend setter. Although competition has caught up and how this place is managing to hold its own.
I want to rate it higher than 4 because it has immense potential and brand name; but am pegging it at 3.5 because I feel this place has not realised its full potential yet.

Being a student of St. Mary's Ghy eggotic is a verrry close to the heart place. Had started visiting this place oviously lot more than a decade ago. But their pastry are not what i ever liked. Earlier i used to have their pastry coz there were no better than them pastry shop. Now i visit to for that nostalgia also coz the place itz environment is too soothing. I have been here only a couple of times and each time I tried something different. At that point, I thought they were probably the best in the world. Now I believe they are pretty good, at least one of the best in Guwahati for sure.

I love their chicken, cheese, and vegetable sandwich. They are simply wow. The paneer and chicken rolls are also too good. Although I don't like their pastries much, but plain cake, fruit cake, brownies are good. The cutlets, chops, pies are very tasty. Cream bun, cream rolls, and tarts are also good. The best thing is their decor! The interiors and the exterior are excellent. very beautiful bakery outlet.

The oldest pastry joint in guwahati.i started having black forest pastry from there when it was rs 17.it was years ago. now it's around 50rs.but trust me the taste is exactly n the same.i just love the black forest cake here.its very different.i stay in ganeshguri.but at times i go to that place to have some good pastry. The rumball, the snacks,chickn roll,mutton roll.well guys try out all the pastries.am sure you will not be disappointed.you will love all.

When you enter this bakery,its the most nostalgic moment. This is one of the oldest pastry shops of the city and still as beautiful. So well decorated all through out the year especially on Christmas.
I used to love the pastries here but haven't tried a lot recently.
I just popped into the shop once and tried the Chicken Sandwich- very soft bread complements the creamy chicken. Nice light eat
Cream Roll- its a childhood favorite and it didn't disappoint. Could have been more crunchier I guess.

Also tried their Chicken Hot Dog: nothing like a hot dog though. Its spicy chicken on a soft bread roll. They warm it up and makes for a decent snack

Butterscotch Pastry : the flavor is there but an overload of cream
Chicken Cutlet : really bad

Eggsotic, the name of my favourite pastry shop in all of Ghy. Sure, the coming of new names like Loyanz has broadened the range and choice of deliciously sugar frosted drops of heaven ( pardon my day drooling :-P ), but this old timer is not ready to kick the hay yet. In fact, as big as before, the delightful entrance makes you feel warm and fuzzy. There has never been a single easter, good friday, bihu, birthday, christmas or simply a craving that went by without dropping by this corner of joy. The jam tart remains my favourite, and the plum cakes are superb! If you have a bad day, douse it with a cake or a black forest. You're sure to brighten up.

Located only at stone's throw from my home, this place serves the best pastries in the city... From a 5yr old to now a 24yr old I've grown up with their birthday cakes... While you pass through this place u'l get a sweet and musky smell which will lure you to this place... The black forest tastes heavely... One thing you'll find here is that the softness and the buttery taste of the pastries remain unchanged even if u keep if for a week... With the opening of many other pastry shops like loyans and repose this place might have faced a drop in customers but still I reckon it has some unique taste of its own... GO FOR IT...

Personally saying, Eggs-O-Tic is still my favorite bakery in Guwahati even though newer & swankier bakeries have cropped up. Its been churning out delicious cakes for around 25+ years now and I have never been disappointed. Me & the wife decided to get our wedding cake from here and it was simply amazing.

Have been a regular visitor to this sweet shop till the days I was in St.Marys ghy. I remember how after school we used to rush towards eggsotic to taste their delicious pastries and snacks. Its an old bakery and over the years it has earned a good name. The pastries are soft,creamy and big. My favourite is chocolate ball and eclairs. Among the snacks I like the sandwiches and hot dogs. Every item is good here. But the prices of the items are increasing day by day..and there is less seating arrangement. Leaving aside its cons, the birthday cakes are a must try..they are the best.
P.S- One very important thing when you visit Eggsotic is..Donot forget to try their home made pickles...they are so very very tasty !!

Today I have visited the very popular Eggostic Pastry Shop, first thing about this place I have to admit that it doesn't look like a pastry shop it's mostly like a Somebody's home which is very unique. After seeing different varieties of Savory items and pastries I decided to order Cheese Sandwich and Chocolate Tart. I got my food very quickly as at that time it was almost empty and as far as the taste of the food I would say it is pretty amazing I really enjoy my food there. Overall I am very pleased with this Shop and I would defiantly love go there again and try their other stuffs so it's a Thumps Up!! For this Pastry Shop from my side...

Eggsotic a very clever name and cheers to the person who thought of it. great Pun indeed.Anyway it was great visiting it after 1998 and found it to have changed little.I reremember dropping in on their opening day(it was on the way home from office so very convenient) and tasting some of their pastries--absolutely ggooooey and fressshhh they were. The Black Forest was their piece de resistance and so it is even today.They didnt have any sandwiches and patties but thats a good addition.The sandwiches are rather filled with mayonaise and are a great hit particularily amongst the St Marys crowd nearby.. The chocolate cake I found a bit too sweet but soft and fresh tasting.I think darker chocolate is to be tried.The patty/puffs were rather flaky and need a little more of the filling.
The decor is smart and inviting and a small table or two would be a good addition.How about some nice strong ASSAM TEA being served or coffee. Chenikuti/Uzanbazar could do with such an offering.Anyway great to be back so keep going Eggs o tic !!
I visited this place on 27th June 2014. I'm from Chennai and I'm new to guwathi.. So I surfed n zomato for places to pastries near railway station. Since this place was somewhat close to station and the reviews were good I went this place by foot. This place was much better than what I expected .. The ambience was awesome. Cost is normal.

Totally I was satisfied.
Have been going to Eggsotic since a little girl, almost 18 years! I think I've ordered cakes from here for every single birthday while I lived in Guwahati. Their blackforest is absolutely amazing and another favorite was the chicken pastry! Although, I have to add everything else was equally yummy. I love the wallpaper and cozy decor and every single I visit home, its the first place I want to go and eat at. Its amazing how they have been able to maintain the flavors and standards through all these years.

I always remember Eggsotic because of their super soft, super delicious Black forests which just melts into your mouth. I can have a couple of them in just 15 minutes sharp....
In fact it was used to be my staple diet once upon a time as I used to stay nearby during my college days.
The chocolate balls and the eclairs are my next best favorites.
Since am born with a big sweet tooth, have always tasted almost all their pastries....
Also, the chciken sandwiches with mayo are their next best as they taste just like home with nice cup of coffee.
One of those places which will give you a big heartbreak if ever gets closed...

They don't serve the amazing black forest which they use to a decade back.
this is my favorite pastry shop! their sandwiches are incomparable. they are in a league of their own! my favorite used to be the chicken sandwich..but the taste has changed over the years..and now my favorite is the cheese sandwich! you have to try it to believe it!! the other great bites are the cutlets, the black forest and my friend loves the paneer tarts..
but man! they love to increase their prices!! i remember the chicken sandwiches costing rs22 a couple of years ago..and little by little their prices have gone up to 60 if i remember correctly..but then what can i say...they are absolutely worth it. at least the cheese sandwiches are.
I have grown up with EGGS O TIC and have tasted its pastries growing up. Over the years the rates have remained constant and USP is its bread and Snacks( burgers, rolls and cutlets). Very hygienic and the staff is helpful. Although we can eat while standing but a few chairs in this quaint environment would have been awesome. As we enter the flowers just add to its ambiance. Keep up the good work! Christmas with Eggs o Tic always brings back fond memories .
Its one of the oldest pasyry shops in town. They revolutionised the way cake was made - different flavours,shapes and softness. Eggs-O-tic. ... the name itself was unique. Their Black Forest cake has been my favourite ever since and people used to come to have from every nook and corner of the city. We would just wait to have an opportunity to have a piece of cake from Eggs-O-tic. But now it has lost its charm along the way. Couple of pastry shops have come up with better cakes and more variety. With strong competitions, if it wants to get back its charm, it has to improve its quality n variety.
This is my favourite pastry shop in Guwahati. The kitsch is yummy , the chocolate cakes are amazing and the black forest is good (the black forest used to be better earlier though). My sisters and I make it a point to visit it on Christmas :) The decorations are just beautiful and sitting on the bench outside the shop is a surreal experience on Christmas Day. If you haven't visited this shop, then you're really missing out on the good stuff :)

But,somewhere along the way it has kind of lost it's charm and taste.Maybe it's because of the many new bakeries that have cropped up in every nook and corner of the city !! With the new bakeries offering a variety of sweets and savouries, it is high time for Eggsotic to up their game. And I know they have the experience and the capacity to outdo any bakery in town.
The charming ladies of Eggsotic are the reason why I keep going back !! They are friendly, helpful and their suggestions are always correct when you want to choose something for any occasion.The staff too are very polite and friendly.
The black forest is a must-taste, and recently, I feel it has lost a bit of its moistness which made it 'the' black forest in town. But it is still worth a try. The chicken patty is another must-have. It has layers of puff pastry and the stuffing is adequate. It is my husband's favourite !!
The eclairs,vanilla and pineapple pastries are a hit with children and their coffee pastry is also a good one.
The sandwiches are okay considering they put a lot of mayo in it which is not to my liking. The burgers and mini-pizzas are a one time try !!

One of the oldest bakeries in town, has always delivered with the quality of their items. My favourites since I was a kid are the rum balls and eclairs. Their blackforest is amazing as well. The savoury items too never fail to impress. Everything leaves you satisfied yet wanting one more tiny bite. And lastly the decor of the place is very cute and inviting.
Old is gold. This is the first and best bakery (pardon my lack of French!) of Guwahati. Excellent savories too. It's sprung a cafe within the premises, looks welcoming. BTW, they definitely make the best loaf of bread in town, my staple.

You could say this place is of local historical significance. A favourite of many for its variety of bakery items for generations together. They have maintained the quality of baked food all these years. Some of my personal favorites are Rum ball, Jelly tart, Eclairs and Black Forest.
There is also a small Assamese emporium in the campus for crafts, gamosas and so on.
