Visited this chain for the first time and loved the Assamese outlook and decor of the restaurant. However they need to maintain the place as wear and tear is visible throughout.
Coming to food, it was very well prepared and homely. We ordered Thalis (fish/pork/chicken) and each of the items were delectable. Plus the use of brass utensils is very authentic.
As traveller it was an amazing experience in this restaurant. Best place to have Assamese cuisine.. gesture and food presentation is extremely good.
This place is one of the coolest place to have Assamese and Naga Thalis. They also says that they have Asian cuisine as well. I with my friends had Assamese thalis here a few days before. The prices are reasonable here and taste is top-notch. If you are trying to try something new and traditional in a busy city like Guwahati you definately should visit Michinga. In taste I would rate 7.5 out of 10 for the Assamese thali with Local Chicken. Go give it a try guys.
If you want to experience authentic food, please visit and trust me, it will not make you feel otherwise 💐
Dishes we tried-
1. Sliced chilli pork
2. Assamese chicken thali
3. Naga pork with bamboo shoots
4. Naga chicken thali
5. Coffee caramel custard
I went there for a Sunday lunch with my friend. The place was crowded. We managed to get a table. The interior was beautiful with warm colours and lights.
We ordered Assamese Veg Thali and Caramel Custard for dessert. The thali tasted good and the dessert was delicious. It was a filling lunch.
The service was prompt.
Good place in Guwahati for Assamese Thali, nice ambience and service. Car Parking is limited to two cars but adjacent bylanes have decent parking space
Amazing Assamese Fish thali. The fish was so fresh and very nicely cooked. Just loved it
Lovely food!
Tried their smoked pork with dry bamboo shoot thali which costed Rs. 410 (including tax). Food was delicious, and satisfying with good portions at round 1 that I did not need refills (Free for everything except pork items).
However, the servers could be a bit more attentive. Overall, a good experience 👍
Excellent food. Without doubt... The quantity served can be improved. However no question on the taste. Thumbs up to paneer thali. Must try.
Great food and ambience! Loved the retro British architecture. Pro tip: go for the sticky rice if you are considering any ethnic dishes.
Loved the place! I’m not generally someone who eats pork but trust me when I say this that their pork is top notch. And the ambience is too vintage and ethnic. Worth every penny!
Wow the pork schezwan is bliss. Very tasty ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Must try!
This is my 2nd visit here . We ordered Naga Pork thali with pork bamboo shoot.
The platter had rice , dal, pork dry fry , aloo pitika, 2 type of dry fish chutney . The taste was awesome and food was really healthy . We ordered custard also . The taste is 10/10 . No complains at all .
If you are visiting Assam and you want to taste Naga cuisine then you must try it here. Great ambience, nice service. Mostly they have a variety of nonveg food. Paneer is available for veg and is good in taste.
Michinga's food is just soulful. Their thalis will definitely make you feel homely.
Michinga's food will make you and your body both feel good.
Less is always more and Michinga proved it when it came to their delicious and comforting food.
Service is quick and the staffs are well behaved. Don't know the name of those 2 girls but they are always there in restaurant assisting everyone equally. Love them ❤️
My go-to restaurant in Guwahati is Michinga. 🙂🙂
They serve traditional Assamese, Naga, Khasi and Asian (mostly Chinese) food, but we were keen on trying their Assamese thalis, of which they offer different variations. We ordered one Assamese thali (pork; though you can order a vegetarian thali, paneer thali, chicken thali, fish thali, duck thali etc - the basic component of the thali remain the same, it’s only a star dish that changes. Along with that, we ordered an Assamese jumbo thali.
Every single element of each of the thalis was perfect: delicious, and very light. Service was satisfactory, and we paid just below Rs 1,000 for a very satisfying meal for two adults and a child.
The food was superb, the service is also good. The place is revamped, the decorations are on a brighter side. The waitresses are of tribal origin. The place has a parking facility but it can hold only two to three cars, otherwise you have to park the car on the nearby roads. The food I ordered was naga thali, so mostly it was red meat, pork, it was a good rich meal.
I tried their Assamese Pork Thali and it was the most authentic one I have had till date, pork was very succulent. It was simple yet very tasty, they captured the essence of traditional Assamese food by not overtly using masalas that most restaurants tend to do these days. My brother and parents tried the Assamese Chicken Thali and they enjoyed it as well for its taste and simplicity. I feel like one can eat here everyday without getting an upset stomach since, the food felt and tasted so homely.
Love their authentic assamese and naga food. They provide a variety of Thalis which are a must try for everyone.
Also tried their Chinese combo. Loved it. We tried their Naga Bamboo shoot thali and it was just so delicious. Loved their Mango mousse dessert too. My go to place whenever I feel like having ethnic food.
Service is great. Ambience is really cozy.
A purely authentic restaurant. As a student here in Ghy the food feels quite at home and the ambience of this place is superb for a quality lunch/dinner/brunch.
