Super duper place! We visited this place after someone's recommendation and it was amazing. We tried Girmit, Tuppad Avalakki, masala butter toast, masala khara and Jolada vada. I loved Tuppad Avalakki very much, which I felt is the version of Dadpe Pohe with Ghee, and shev on top. Absolutely recomme
It is more than seven decades old canteen in Dharwad. Crowded most of the time. Famous for its unique dishes. I Enjoyed eating Ghee avalakki, Chilli bonda, Girmit, Masale mandakki and Bread toast. Food is tasty and reasonably priced, Tables are clean, Staff are good. Good place to enjoy light snac
Enjoyed Thuppada Avalakki and Jowar Vada. Missed Mandakki/Girmit which they serve only in the evening.
I’m from Bangalore and am in Dharwad for a break. Had breakfast from LEA canteen and had a fabulous experience. The place has a “heritage” feel to it. It is small-ish, but cosy and very neat. The service was nice, the guy had a sense of humor even. Had idli vada and avalakki, both were very good. M

- Accessible easily as it is behind the district court . To be precise it is attached to the compound of the RLS Compound and located Near Corporation Circle, Maratha Colony. - Very reasonable quick snack and lunch place is L.E.A Canteen. 4 people can easily have stomach full snacks for 250/- rupees
This is a 70+ years old eatery. This offers breakfast and snacks. This has an old school charm to it. They even have a family section in the hotel which used to be very common in the 80s and 90s. My personal favourite was tuppada avalakki. It has a tinge of tanginess from the lemon, and sweetness
ತುಪ್ಪದ ಅವಲಕ್ಕಿ, puri, dosa, bread toast were delicious. Clean surroundings, wonderful service and super quick. Loved morning breakfast here!
