If you want to taste South Indian food this restaurant is one option. They serve you food in traditional cutlery. Spicy and Tasty food. Price is little high . Staff were good.
Nice place and good Ambiance. Nice food
Food tastes homely and traditional. Best thing is after a tummy filling meal, you don't feel heavy. Ragi Sangati is awesome. There is some good spread of Nonveg too.
There can be couple of non veg starters and more of veg starters. Replacement of starters is a bit slow.
Must visit.
One of the good places to cover South Indian Dishes.Ā
MUST Try:Ā
1. Appam with Mutton Curry very good in taste.
2. Raagi Sangathi with Mutton gravy
3. Fish
Simply Superb!
On a Sunday afternoon we were hungry as hell and reached the restaurant way past the closing time but happy to know this place was up and running.
Completely occupied on a Sunday afternoon we had to wait for 10 minutes to secure a table.
What a ride it was from here. Hungry as hell I was expecting some welcome food to munch on but nothing has come. I won't mind if they don't serve also but out of sheer hunger I was expecting.š
After ordering mokkajonna garelu and appam with Malabar veg stew started eagerly turning my head to kitchen couple of times for my food to come, there it arrived.
Simply South has struck the right chords with me.
Mildly spiced, Desi taste intact, fresh out of kitchen I was in love with these perfectly fried crispy brown garelu served along with coconut chutney and you can spice it up with flavourful podi's from the table. Rightly spiced with green chilli paste with crunchy corn bites in between this was a perfect starter. My hunger satiated a bit after relishing on these garelu.
Fresh out of appam pan, intact in it's parabola shape appam had a spoongy texture and tasted authentic.
Veg stew had a rich, thick coconut milk consistency with lot of boiled veggies spiced with peppercorn. When combined with appam this dish tasted heavenly.
Service was good. Had to ask for water refilling once otherwise he was attentive through out. Zomato gold unlock was also hassle free.
P.S: Didn't take any photos as I was dying of hungerš
Food was good. Tried out Sabudana wada which was served with fresh chutney. Fried fish and chicken vepudu which were good. Egg kothu paratha was tasty and kodi pulav was severed with fresh raitha which was tasty
Absolute bliss. Signature dishes are delightful. Serving is little slow though, but taste over powered it. Will visit again. Shod try sabudhana vada.
It's okay... I will not tell food ohhh super... But we can have food. Its decent and good one. As per the cost we can have this... Okay gud one... Limited number of items...
Loved the authenticity of the restaurant. . Best place to have the cuisines of all the best foods of South India especially I got my favourite kuttu parota served there.
We had gummadikaya bellam pulusu and it had simple homestyle flavours. It was perfectly sweet and spicy. And it tastes really nice with appadam.
Authentic flavours and good service. The menu has the best of food from a number of regions in south India. I have been there twice and found that the food taste varies and this is something the restaurant needs to fix. The Garlic khoumbu , Kori Gassi and Chicken Cutlet are a must try.
A must visit for trying out south delicacies. I tried Kerala food. Amazing veg stew, fish curry and appams. The Karnataka chicken curry was also very nice. Beauty of Kerala curries is that they are not very heavy on stomach. Thanks for hosting us!
Visited this place on a Saturday night with my husband and his friends. The restaurant's menu has recipes which belongs to Andhra, Telengana, Kerala, Karnataka and TamilNadu. We ordered two starters - Telengana Kodi roast and Tala ghost (mutton). And for the main course - ordered phulka and Palleturu Mamsam mutton gravy. The starters are well cooked and one can feel the tenderness of the chicken!! And ofcourse they are medium spiced.. As a dessert, we ordered elaneer payasam. This is basically a TamilNadu dish. Since I am from TamilNadu, the way elaneer payasam is cooked is totally different.. it's like coconut milk. Overall, good place to try authentic dishes and the price for the dessert and phulka is quite high!!
Was here yesterday for lunch. They offer both buffet and a la carte. Went for buffet as dishes seemed mouth watering and I was not wrong.
It's a self service buffet. Most of the items in buffet tasted good. They offer a good range of dishes totally worth the price.Don't miss the desserts part.
The place is a bit small but attracts good amount of crowd due to which may to wait few minutes before getting a table. Ambiance is very simple and decent.
Nice place for south Indian food we are visited this place. Service is nice. Staff is very helpful. We are enjoying our lunch ambition is nice ššš
Simply South is like coming home to a warm meal. It's comfort food at its best! Love the appam and prawn moilee here. Not to mention the wonderful ambience and service.
Best place to have Buffett with friends. Food was good and items are good. Veg buffet has ample varieties. Appam with Avial was very nice. Ragi Sangato with egg curry was nice.
We ordered a chicken soup which is just okay, prawn starter is good. For the main course we had Veg Biryani and juja jen chicken biryani which are good in portion sizes and also with respect to the taste. Overall it's a decent experience with friends at Simply South.
One of the best South Indian dishes you can find here. Price- A little over expensive side.
Must try food( veg)- vendiyam poondu kozhambu. It tastes exactly like the ones which your granny must have fed you while growing up.
So I was in Hyderabad few days ago
I told my friend let's try some south Indian dishes so he says let's go order something so I findout this simply south rating is good that's y let go for this
We ordered
Palleturu mamsam -Palleturu Mamsam. A typical village preparation signifying the perfect match of country style ingredients with succulent pieces of mutton
Kori gassi -Mangalorean ChickenĀ SukkaĀ orĀ Kori Sukka/KoriĀ Ajadina(Tulu) is an Indian Dish of Chicken native to Mangalore and Udupi region. "Kori Sukka" literally means "Chicken Semi-Dry gravy" in Tulu, sometimes also called as "KoriĀ Ajadina". However it can be prepared in two variations Dry and semi gravy.
Sambar -Sambar also spelled sambaar is a lentil-based vegetable stew or chowder, cooked with tamarind broth, originating from South India. It is popular in South IndianĀ
Jujejan biriyani - is a kind of heydrabadi biriyani tym all same little bit spicy but tasty
Overall like the restaurant and thanks to zomato to deliver lip snacking dishes to our doorstep
Good lay of South Indian cuisine! If you are a North Indian like me and are clueless about most of the items on the menu, do not forget to take recommendation from the staff. I tried kamju pitta with appam (hope it's written currently) on the staff's recommendation and it was a winner for me.
On other days you can also opt for the buffet option and dive into the rich flavors of the south.
As the name says it is definitely a simple South Indian food restaurant with very simple decor. They have Thali and good non veg pulao .. One of the good place for someone who crave for homemade South Indian Spicy food
Being a North Indian in the city, this has been one of the best places to introduce my taste buds to the authentic south Indian spices. Needless to say, this was not at all a disappointment, in fact it made me fall in love with the cuisine.
We tried mangalorean chicken, komju pitta and fresh appams
Have heard lot of praises for the buffet...would really like to try !
Also, would like to mention the staff is doing great job..in helping you decide on the order, specially to new comers like me!
Cheers to the lovely lunch i had here!
It was one of the restaurant in my checklist..So, finally this was the feeling of excitement to try their food.. Ambiance was simply good..They have buffet option here with 499 +tax and zomato gold 1+1 offer too..
Firstly, they served us some welcome drink made of jaggery and rawmango..And It was amazing..That was their authentic drink..one thing that draw my attention was their pickle..There was two type of mango achar - sweet and sour..Both traditional pickle were amazing..and yes, they served fried Papad so that we can satisfy our hunger before arriving the food..
We tried ala carte and ordered Iddiappam and veg dum biryani.. Iddiappam was definitely awesome..We ate it with 2types of podi and tomato chutney..Later, we had Andhra style dum veg biryani which was delicious..Though the masala was little spicy for us but the raita was enough to stable the spices..
Staff was very helpful and they even suggest which dish we can order and during whole time they take care of guest..Loved their hospitality..I would love to suggest this place as it serves best south south indian food..

Actual rating is 4.5.
Finally, I visited the Simply South to taste the authentic South Indian food. Ambience is pretty good with soft music in the background. We were wel come by the wel come drink which was damn refreshing. They used jaggery instead of sugar for the drink, which is really commendable.
Coming to the food, we ordered iddiappam (made up of rice strings) which I tried very 1st time in my life. It looks really tempting. Certainly, the taste is bland, but I enjoyed it with the tomato corriander chutney they served with it. I even decorated the iddiappam with podi and that also tastes delicious. Simple and light. Isn't it?
We also had sabz dum biryani - perfectly cooked veggies and rice. Salan, served with it, was average. Biryani was little spicy for me, but tastewise, it was marvellous.
This is my 4th visit and every time I visit here the taste is always super with different authentic South Indian varieties.. I enjoy my every visit..thanks to the Manager who has been maintaining the same standard. :)
Great place for those who love South Indian food visited this place several times never disappointed on food quality or taste. Good ambience even buffet has nice selection of food items.
Was here with Hyderabadfoodtrip for dinner.
We ordered :
Tala ghost
Kodi Pulao
Lime soda
Tala ghost was awesome. One of the best.
Pulao was okay.
Lime soda was bad.
Service can be quick.
Simply south is famous for the regional delicacies. I have been wanting visit the place for a very long time. Finally I could make it.
I was here for dinner.
Starters :
Tried Tala ghost from the starters. It was so good. Cooked and spiced to perfection. This is a must try.
Main course :
Went for the kodi pulao. It is made with chittimutyal rice. It was not that great, tasted decent. I personally prefer more spicy!
Beverages :
Lime soda it is! Very bland, not even chilled enough. It was almost served at room temperature, which really is bad.
They have a huge menu. So, I should definitely go back to try many others on the menu. From the ones I have tried, I really liked the starter. I personally feel that, for the quantity the prices are little high.
I have recently visited this place on my sister's recommendation but I would say I just simply love the place.. From then I have visited here two more times with couple of friends and all loved the food here.. The taste is authentic South Indian. Egg curry with rice and ghee is superb.
I love coming back to this place.. Looking for few more visits with family again.
You can find different type of South Indian states food. You will have different experience of tasting tamil nadu, karnataka, Kerala, andhra and telangana cuisines. Ambience are pretty decent. You can have buffet also here.
Loved the meal. We had their Buffet for the first time today. The service was overall good and prompt and the majority of the vegetarian dishes were wonderful . I really enjoyed their rasam and potato fry, The Kerala parotta was the best till date in Hyd. I would recommend to give the buffet a try.
A decent place to try new and exotic South Indian cuisines. This place is a must go if you love South Indian food and want to try your hands on something new. Ambience is really nice, plus good servicing.
Food quality: 4/5
Service: 5/5
Food quantity: 4/5
Great food with southern spices ! I have ordered multiple times online never really had the pleasure of a dine in but I was never disappointed with the taste
If you are looking to fix your hunger with sumptuous food ., This is the place. Their buffet is quite good.
One suggestion will be to change sofa cover. It is a bit dirty and they can use better furniture.
Really love the food here especially the Appam and chicken stew. Idiappam and coconut milk combination is my sonās favourite. We keep going back to this place quite often
If you are looking for authentic South Indian food, this is one great place to eat.
Menu mainly consists of traditional delicacies from all 4 southern states.
Rasa wada is must try. Small wada's dipped in hot , spicy rasam. Absolutely wonderful!
Muva vankaya (Brinjal curry) is another dish which is really good.
Rasa Vada is my favourite in the restaurant and they maintain the taste is the highlight.. When visiting pure veg restaurant with family simply south is always on the chart .
This is a great place for having authentic South Indian dishes. The taste is very close to home made and elders in my family really enjoyed the food. We opted for non-veg buffet and spread is more than adequate. The service is good. There is a slight delay in refilling the items and for that i deducted 1 star.
I am not a huge south Indian cuisine fan but when it comes to good food, I don't mind eating whatever comes my way.
I visited this place with my wife yesterday and my wife being the hard core tamilian ordered Ra's vada, a curry which was made of tomato, tamarind, garlic and onions with steamed rice. I only had that gravy which was simply superb.
I ordered prawns and kozhi rasam and both were incredibly awesome. I would suggest you check with server about the quantity of the soup as it's a lot.
Also, my server suman did a brilliant job.
Ambience: 3

Excellent ambience .. Nice place for peaceful lunch and dinners.. very hygiene and polite staff. Great music during lunch and dinner... Extremely satisfied the way they received but bit costly ...
By the friends recommendation been to this place and as he said the food was really good... Tried different varieties of traditional food... If you want to try food from places then I highly recommend to visit this one... Service can be done better.
Food : 5/5

Value for money : 100%
One stop restaurant for all south Indian cuisines. I somewhat found them close to being authentic. Decent ambience and tasty food. Staff was courteous all through
We've been here several times for family dinners. Ambience at this location isn't as nice as the now closed branch on Gachibowli. That said service here has always been good and food is almost always terrific, served piping hot and very tasty. We all have some favorite dishes here - my daughter loves the aapam and stew, my some the kothmiri kodi, etc.
Go for good service and excellent food.
appam with veg stew and kuttu parata wow, best place to have appam in hyderabad. Staff and their behaviour is awesome, must try appam and south indian food.
I visited this place with my family on my birthday to enjoy authentic south Indian food. This place lives upto the expectation. The food was simple and delicious. They stuck to the basics.
Things you must try:
1. Tomato Chutney with rice and ghee
2. Podi Dumpalu
3.Gummadikaya Bellam pulusu with rice and ghee
This combination was finger licking good.
The desserts were good. Not too sweet, just fine.
This place serves amazing south Indian food with regional spices in it. The ambiance is pleasing and the service is also fine. Weekday lunch will be a perfect plan.
The name it self telling It's a simply south. this restaurant serves cuisine from all the South Indian food.Ā Ambiance and service is good. The tali is good with many items. Overall Very Good Environment / Good Food / Value of Money.
Great Service, polite staff and delicious food. You can try any of the items from Menu l. It just tastes good. I will visit the place again.
A place for amazing authentic taste food. I have been there thrice, once had regular items, second time Lunch buffet, third time authentic Tamilnadu and Karnataka food. The chutney served with papad is delicious.
The staff were very courteous and served with smile.
I went for dinner. I heard that lunch buffet is good.
The ppl over therewere very polite. The plates and the glass used was made of copper that it gives you a traditional feeling. By default they serve apalam and kongura chutney which is good. Coconut chutney was really good. We ordered kothu parata and avial and sambar. It was really good. You get amazing mango pickles. Overall this place was good and ppl should give a try if you want to eat South Indian food.
Great place to dine. Quick running restaurant. Great flavours & service. Liked it.
Best part they serve you dishes state wise, so menu is quite easy to read & order as they made menu state wise, which helps to try dishes state wise.
Ordered - appam & vegetable stew with Telangana style dry chicken.
Cost - 4/5 - Rs 1500 for 2
Service - 4/5
Ambiance - 3/5
Parking - 3/5
Must try š
Small space with great vibes. The decor gives very calm and positive vibes. Food was also good. Service was great. They made good use of the space. Decent place to go with family. Tried their South Indian thali and it was nice. Buttermilk was good too. I liked the way the waiting place outside was designed. Other items on the menu were interesting too.
Just like a wowš. Delicious food and amazing options to choose from menu. Try as much as you can if you don't frequently visit Hyderabad. But keep in mind some curries are really spicy. I would recommend to order two portions of curd to balance the spiciness.
I have visited Simply South for the first time in September 2023 and fell in love with the food and service here. It feels like an underrated place may be due to the limited menu but each item here makes you come back for them and indulge in a mouth-watering tummy -filling meal.
The food here feels 100% authentic and tasty while staying true to their concepts. One such thing Iāve noticed is they say Simply south in the name and they donāt have paneer in the menu and thatās the way it should be as paneer was not in the South for decades after being in the Northern India.
I really appreciate the authenticity and the taste of almost all the dishes I tried here and would keep coming back for the same and more, hope the experience stays the same always.
Veg Thali is a must try with many items in it and mokka jonna garelu are delicious. Ragi Sankati can be more softer and steamed.
Keep it up and all the best.
One of the places weāve been visiting for years now. Late review but it shows the consistency of the place.
After some disastrous trials, we fell back to this place for a tasty South Indian thali. Two veg thalis and I wanted some chicken curry too so went for kodi koora boneless. 5min and we get the piping hot thali.
You can never get bored of this place, the ambience with soothing annamayya keerthans playing in the background and the food in the menu and the taste represents nothing but authentic south.
-During a weekend dinner at the restaurant, arriving at 8:30 PM secured us an immediate table. The table had a platter of delightful pickles and a flavorful podi. Papad and buttermilk chillies were also served.
-We ordered the Prawn Pulao, it arrived with raita, a savory gravy, and the delectable chintha thokku. It also comes with an omlette. The pulao boasted remarkable flavors without excessive spice or heavy masala. Perfectly cooked prawns added to the dish's appeal. The quantity of the prawns too was sufficient. The raita, gravy, and especially the spicy yet perfectly balanced sour Chintha Thokku left us impressed.
-For dessert, we indulged in the Badam Halwa ā a must try! Not too sweet, not too heavy. Just right.
Both the Prawn Pulao and Badam Halwa offered satisfying portions relative to their prices.
-The restaurant showcases authentic dishes from Southern Indian states: Kerala, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu. While the menu is concise, the emphasis on food quality is evident and commendable.
-The staff displayed politeness, professionalism, and cooperation.
-The ambiance could benefit from improved lighting ā it was very dim.
-The washroom, though clean, lacks essentials like toilet paper. Washroom definitely needs improvement.
All in all, Simply South stands as a must-try destination for those seeking a genuine South Indian culinary experience.
This place has been on my list for a long time, specially after 2 of my friends praised it. So finally we were there for our dinner.
- The ambience is minimal with no gaudy decorations. Calm and welcoming.
- Food was good, but again, this place I guess isn't for people like us who love spice. We ordered Mamsam Pulao (4/5) and Kodi Pulao (3.5/5). These ratings are for the taste of the dishes, but if I have to rate them according to our taste buds, I guess the rating would reduce a bit.
- Service is very very bad. We had to call people almost 10 times for each and everything. Even for the bill. It's like this place was more inclined to those who come there in cars and look well settled, at least we felt so. An hour or so after we spent there, we felt so left out. So ya service is almost 1 rated for me.
And another biggest disappointment for us was, they don't serve normal water, hence we are forced to accept that little water bottle that costs apparently 80/- Rs. It filled 3 glasses exactly.
Hence, for me visiting this place again is really a hard decision to make.
Ambience typically represents south indian restaurant you can find all south indian states food here. We went for lunch and asked for veg thali but they said it got over, so we tried veg pulao and kodi pulao both were not upto the mark as we expected.
Simply south is a best place to try different cuisines from southern India... The helping staff are very quick in response esp the staff named Vivek was very helpful... The food was served very quickly without any wait time... Great place to try to different dishes
My first time here for onam sadya lunch. Was packed . Finally got a table. Food was nice. Ambience and service was good . Sambar was divine

The ambiance often reflects a blend of modern and traditional aesthetics, creating a welcoming dining atmosphere. What a place ...mind blowing. Great typical south indian dishes. Loved every bit of food. Great ambiance. Quick service. Good managed parking.
One of the best South Indian thalis I had. It's a small place with some wait time even on weekday but it was worth the wait thali was simple and fulfilling apart from that we have ordered Gongura royyalu which was very tasty, best part is that the prawns did not leave any after taste like they do in some of the restaurants. Overall nice place but a bit heavy on pocket.
The best Indian food that one can get in Hyderabad. Every item was perfect and amazingly tasty. Friend ordered Veg Thali and enjoyed it. I've ordered Appam, Ragi Sankati and Mutton which were all fantastic. The Biryani was amazing as well. Don't forget to have Elneer Payasam at the end (if you like coconut), that was one of the best desserts I've had in a while. Will definitely visit again.
Adding a few more items from the menu on my second visit, do try Appam with their Coconut Milk, such an amazing combo that it melts in your mouth. Then, Kodi Guddu Koora is just wow! I've never eaten egg curry in that style before, it's like boiled egg but also scrambled egg. Also tried Pachhi Mirchi Kodi Pulao and absolutely loved it, the right amount of spice and the mouth watering taste.
OK, third visit, tried Mokka Jonna Garelu and Saggubiyyam Vada, couldn't click pictures but trust me they were just as amazing as all the other orders from my earlier visits.
Mind blowing place. This restaurant is just the place to satisfy all your south indian taste buds. Its in a very nice locality.. easily noticeable from a moving vehicle. First we tried was the beautiful filter coffee followed by We tried the veg thali and chicken curry with soft appams. Their set curd was also very tasty and the sheerkurma was delicious.
The service was prompt and there was warmth in the service.
Atmosphere is authentic, food is good. We ordered kuttu parotta (RS 329) and elaneer payasam (Rs 259). We liked both.
Good food and Service. Price ā¹ā¹ā¹.. mmm... Pretty high. But standard food.
