Not a fine dining restaurant but it's a decent place to have bengali cuisine and place was hygienic too. Not to miss bhetki paturi and their fish thali and bengoli sweets. You can kill your hunger for bengali food as i couldn't find find other similar restaurants which was open.
If you are from Kolkata and a Biryani lover this place is a must try!! I literally struggled in Hyderabad to find proper biryani until I found this place. Please give it a try. You will be really happy!!
The Biriyani out here is appetising and flavoursome..... People belonging from Kolkata would Love this as they add aloo also in it along with chicken and it is cooked exactly the same way that we get in Kolkata. The cost of the Chicken Biriyani is 200 rupees and the quantity is quite good.... Do not go by the picture above as I had already eaten half of it before taking the picture, the quantity that they provide is a lot.... Bengalis will love the Biriyani sold in Kolkata House
Reopened for delivery after Covid-19 lockdown. I had a chicken kosha thali. I had a bad craving for Bengali food for 2 whole months, so I rated it 5 stars, it's more like 3.5 stars in regular time.

You head to Kolkata house for an authentic veg/nonveg Bengali/odia food experience. I was in kondapur at lunch hours so thought to try this place and it has embience if a normal road side restaurant with non AC and AC seating arrangement. Can accommodate around 50 people.
We ordered one Bengali veg thali, veg pulao, veg kolhapuri and 2 rasgullas - plain and jaggery each.
The thali was the best choice for an exotic meal and had rice, dal, green vegetable, brinjal fry, aalo posto, aalo Gobi, tomato chutney and papad. The taste was delicious to the core and reminded me of odia cuisine back home. Full marks for taste. The veg pulao was a little off for me cause it was very sweet in taste while the veg kolhapuri was delicious with the spices on point and Vegeta sauted properly and tasted very delicious to my taste buds. The rasogollas normal one was good while the jaggery one was not that great.
The staff is very nice and friendly and the price is economical as well with the above order proves at around 600 bucks for this wholesome meal.
A strong recommendation if you like bengali/odia food while the North India is good here too.
This place is like the umbrella one might wish to have on a rainy day. For us homesick bangalis, this place os heaven. 😍 Mogjlai paratha, egg roll, even fish fry, ar ki chai.
Their mutton kosha is just good enough to make me want to cry, reminds me of home. Mutton Rogan Josh is a must-try. And then there is bangali soul doof like machher paturi, and even kolkata style biryani for a change! Love this little place.

Kolkata House is getting better with time. Now they have started yummy breakfast options with luchi, hing kochuri, radha ballabi etc. Just loved the taste as they have maintained authentic hing taste in curry. Loved it guys ❤
Bhetki fry, Kolkata style mutton biryani and chicken chap is my go to menu whenever I visit this place. These items make me realize what I'm missing out on by not being able to stay in Bengal, nonetheless this is the nearest to that I can get.
Being a Bengali restaurant you would expect them to serve delicious sweets but that's where they disappoint me although they keep a decent collection. Maybe my pallete is adjusted to nothing but the best kind of sweets.
A very much pocket friendly place. We visit here every weekend because we can find the authentic taste of actual bengali food even after being away from kolkata. #worthvisiting

Being a Bengali in Hyderabad this is a place you must visit to experience our kind of food. The food was really nice and tasty. Though they should pay more heed to the hygiene part. Otherwise everything is good enough to dip into 'Macher Jhol'

I love there special thali, mutton Rogan gosh, Pabda Masala. The Kolkata style Biryani is not so good but ok. Lots of variety for Bengali sweet.
This place is a paradise for Bengalis in Hyderabad. Great options for Bengali delicacies. Tasted pulao, luchi, bhetki paturi, mutton dakbunglow, chingri malaikari, biryani. I wish they work more on the desserts.
I have visited this place lots of time. Never disappoints me. Reminds me of authentic Bengal cuisine. The sweets are awesome. All the non veg items are very tasty. Do try vetki tandoori and chello kebabs. It's a pocket-friendly and fine dine-in place.

It's a good place to have authentic Bengali food in Hyderabad, especially if you are around Hitec City. My personal favourite here is Puri (Luchi) with Dum Aloo (Aloor Dom Kosha).

I have tried 3/4 Bengali restaurants here in Hyderabad but there is nothing like kolkata house... Though the place is not very posh or beautiful decor or anything like that but when it comes to food this place ranks 1st for me... I tried Rui maach thaali n it was authentic but they put potato in almost everything aloo posto,gobhi aloo, soyabean aloo, aloo bhajaa pls avoid potato in some dishes atleast everything else was superb.....egg rolls, noodles kabiraji it all will remind you of kolkata but my all time favourite is chicken biryani it is just AWESOME😋
It was an fine evening, it was perfect time to have a snack. I have decided to go to Kolkata House. I have ordered Vetki fish fry and cham cham. NoFish fry looks good and not so oily and taste was very good. Cham cham was looking good to. After tasting ham cham, I got the feeling like it is next version of rasagulla and should be in sugar syrup (I am not Bengali and I do not know whether sugar syrup should be added or not). I have just felt like that.
Overall, experience was good.
The mere fact that they serve elaborate cuisine in south India is reason enough to get a 4 star. Has been a regular here, be it dining out or home delivery, anytime to satiate bengali cuisine Craving. Their menu is quite elaborate and they also have sweets whose price is anyday on the higher side. Tasted all most all their delicacies and most favourite are mutton kosha, Fish kabiraji, Doi rui, Tangra jhal and Muri ghonto. Surely an ideal place for bengali feast!
The staff limits their expertise to the delicacies of Kolkata. Although you’ll love the fish, the prep times might vary from time to time. Recommended.

The place is having great bengali food, at a budget frendly side! We ordered the chicken pulao which was good by taste but more like fried rice. But the chicken tikka kebabs were the winner! Yummy and spicy as told. Best one for that price.

This place looks very shabby from outside. It has a sweet shop outside and AC and Non AC seating areas. The place is mainly visited by Bengalis to have banagli food, when they miss their home food. The staff here is also Bengali. We completely went mad seeing the menu. My tongue started watering just by seeing the menu. We ordered bhetki fry, rice,Dal, alu bhaja, bhetkir paturi, bhapa bhetki, mutton kasha, chicken dak banglow. The bhetki fry was awesome. I especially loved the kadundi served with it. The rice is a lot for one person. Mutton kosha was not good at all. The chicken dak banglow was pretty good. Alu bhaja was the usual Bengali alu bhaja, nice. Both the bhetki dishes were very goodnight the Chicago dak banglow was very nice. All in all, the food was pretty great. But, the ambience could have been better, seeing the pricing of the food. But the food is pretty great.
Kolkata house comes as a great savior for Bengalis on weekends / festival days with the variety and price it comes at.
Try to have thalis here, and you can order whatever special items from their variety.
I have tasted bhetki, papda, rui, chicken, mutton, ilish everything here, all are decent to tryout.
However, Bengali people, don't expect too much out of any dishes,, you will be getting moderate satisfiaction here.

The food was really amazing.... Ambience is ok...but the problem is that they used take lot time to get ur food... Otherwise everything is fine... Looking forward to visit again.... Once again food was really fabulous... ..................... T
