It's a rather old place. The mutton fry and than combo is to die for. You will find a lot of oldies here who just can't let go of the place. The waiters are dressed in the old days styles. Even the Thali and the cute Lil spoon in which ghee is served takes u back in time. It gets pretty crowded so make sure ur there before 1:00. One of the best places to eat some no nonsense food and feel at home

This is a place where every time will be like a new visit with aroma of Flavors and great moving crowd . From Papad to Thick curd are just divine . Spending 145 rs here is just worth it . Bang on they have got best staff with kind heart ,who feeds you rice till you fill your stomach and give ghee cups and papad's as much as you want . Till you get a happy burp sound say thank you .

Food here is prepared with high hygienic conditions which gives you the touch of homely feels .

Chicken Roast was expensive , which I felt . It was expensive for the quantity , probably like 5-6 pieces . It was well marinated and cooked well . Can go with curd rice and plain rice too . :)

Sambar , Rasam are missing in the picture and we ordered curd extra .

P.s : We exchanged egg curry with curd . If one wants curd , It'll be charged 30 rs extra . We find many politicians eating here too with some topics going around during lunch .

If you want have pleasant meal visit 1230- 1430 hrs in the afternoon after that the place turns out noisy .

Total bills was 670 rs including 3 meals + water bottle + Chicken Roast + curd .

Dividing the bill : 145*3 - meals

25 water bottle

30 Curd

180 Chicken Roast .

Hotel Indu Delux , adjacent to RBI , A.G office road .

One of the older restaurants around Indu deluxe was once upon a time famous for having served the hordes of politicians coming in from the neighbouring assembly for a quick meal and also the tollywood elite.
You step in and wonder what the fuss was all about. Nothing fancy at all. Meals served in stainless steel plates which look like they've taken a beating over the years and the chatter and clatter of plates and tumblers and gossiping humans. But as a foodie you tend not to fuss about these 'little' things.
As for the food, the meals are just how they are supposed to be. Unlimited quantities of everything cooked and served with quality ingredients. Rice, sambar, rasam, daily veggies, pickle, dal powder, veggie of the day and finally curd. They were all good. On the side we ordered a mutton roast, fish curry and mutton liver fry. The mutton dishes were really good. Perfectly cooked and tasted just like at home. The fish curry though was decent enough but I've has much much better elsewhere.
Overall a hearty meal with lots to eat without a complaint over either quality or taste so I'd give a thumbs up.

This hotel has been around for quite sometime. Mostly frequented by people working in nearby offices, finding a seat on weekday for lunch usually takes time.
Very basic place, no grand interiors. Focus is on food and there,it excels!
Thali consists of Palak Pappu,Sambar, Rasam, One dry curry and One curry with gravy which keep changing, Chutney,Papad, curd and ghee. Typical andhra food with the right amount of spiciness.
Like every dish served in thali except for the dry curry.
Quick service.
Amazing place for the quintessential stomach filling quality food!

These guys know how to keep things short and sweet!!
With a limited menu they are spot on when it comes to flavours and quality...I'm yet to have better Ginger Chicken in my life. And the Mutton Biryani they serve will put fancy restaurants to shame. Don't forget to try their famous meal.
Hurry! limited stocks only. :) I'm serious...we once went at 9:30pm to find that they were out of Ginger Chicken, heartbreaking indeed. ;)

Kinda Kakatiya mess but with better ambiance! Service was fast, the meals we had sumptuous and tasty. Only let down was the sambar, but then the other curries made up for it.
Visit this place, if you wanna try Andhra Meals in a better ambiance.

Andhra food. Known for its quintessential thali. The assortment of curries keep changing every day. The veggies include a fry, a mixed veg and a veg curry. Papar and pachari as accompaniment. Sambhar daal and rasam are always the same. The curd is rich and fresh every time. Ghee comes in tiny containers and you can have as many.

But don't miss the specialities.. Ginger chicken, fish curry and fish fry. These three things will make you go back there again and again.

Mutton biryani and chicken biryani, although they say is andhra style, is actually a hybrid. You will get the Hyderabadi masala taste. Also the meat is quite dry. Passable.

We keep going there for our office lunches. Service is fast and very easy on the pocket.

Off late I wanted to get back to the old restaurants in Hyderabad and how can I miss my most favourite non-veg restaurant Indu Delux, beside RBI of Hyderabad in Saifabab. Indu is one of the most exciting Andhra style restaurants without any frills like the new generation restaurants. The interiors are very basic nothing to talk about and since ages it has not changed. I still remember whenever my family used to visit Zoological park, on the way back my dad always used to stop at this very restaurant and have full meals with mutton fry, chicken iguru (Semi Dry), prawns iguru (Semi Dry) and other appetizing dishes. Whenever any guests arrive at my home, l knew we would be going to Indu, to have those exciting dishes.

After a long time I visited this place along with couple of friends at night around 10:30 pm, the place was empty and we were the only customers. As usual ordered Thali and mutton roast. Dal was very tasty and then tried the mutton roast, the lamb was not tender but the gravy was tasty and spicy. After that we ordered chicken roast and seeing it my friend pounced on it and without saying a word he was totally immersed in savouring it, I knew why, hahaha..... The chicken roast was marvellous and very appetizing. I was absolutely satisfied with the chicken roast, dal and curd; these are what I had as I don’t want to waste my appetite on trying other dishes.

Overall I liked the dishes we had, to my knowledge I have been visiting this place since more than 20 years and still they have not changed over years in their quality and hospitality. I would strongly recommend passionate foodies not to miss this place. I don’t know for how many more years I would get back to them to quench my thirst for quality non-veg Andhra dishes.

Along with my father, who strictly adheres to a diet of Andhra cuisine, I walk into the place with some high expectations; whether they were met or not, is what this review is about.

Ambience is nothing fancy, with complete utilitarian furniture that probably hasn't been changed since the inception of this restaurant. The place is crowded and you may get a seat quickly depending on the time. Reason for the crowd being the food and the location. The menu is extremely limited, which is a dampener in most cases, but not now.

Pure, unadulterated Andhra food is what you get here, served with a high dosage of spices(what one may otherwise refer to as 'hot').

The Biryani is unfaltering and perfect in every sense, be it Mutton or Chicken. The Chicken is normal fare compared to the rest, so I shall define the Mutton. The meat is marinated delectably well, which is evident from the extremely soft texture of the mutton. The rice grains are also perfect with no clumps. I do not know how to express something that is a textbook (or say, cookbook) perfect rendition of an Andhra Biryani other than this.

The Chicken Roast is also as perfect as it can get, be it authenticity or the taste. The process has been rightly followed, a marination in the mix of onions, chili powder and coriander powder, fried with coriander leaves till the meat is dark brown on the outside, with the flesh remaining soft and untouched on the inside. I know this sounds like a recipe, but this is to show that the infidels promoting "roast" when it comes to Andhra cuisine are doing it wrong, while glorifying this restaurant to get its due credit.

Yet to try their meals and other gravies, but if all this was any indicator, I am just raring to visit the place again for some more variety.

They provide Ice Creams in the quaint cups like how it was available around 15-20 years back in even the poshest restaurants, unlike the scoops and garnishes you get nowadays. Trip down nostalgia lane for sure.

Service is strictly professional. Just like the ambience, the service is also completely utilitarian; they get the job done, that too quickly and efficiently. What more can one require when the food gives you the euphoria that you need. I do not want to talk about prices and demean the place, but you can't get better Andhra cuisine even if you pay thrice this amount.

This may well be the best place in town for an everlasting great experience of Andhra food.

Recently I had lunch in this hotel, I m seeing this hotel since 80’s. I am continuously finding the same taste, same ambiance since then. Of course their rates have gone up from 20/- to 200/- I appreciate this hotel for their fast service and maintaining quality as before. I hope to come here again and again, and have this experience in future.

Simple and complete place to enjoy south indian thali/meals.

I am regular to this place for close to 20years and you could get that perfect lunch you wish to be home-made.

Ambience is not hyped up but very down to earth and maintained. Apart from regular south indian thali you could order Biryani & couple of other non vegetarian curries/roast from the menu along with roti/phulka.

You got ample parking and on weekdays there could be some waiting for lunch.

You should try this if you are lost in all global cuisine and thundering ambience for a while now

Over a period of 20 years of my stay in Hyderabad, I have gradually become a big fan of Andhra cuisine. Initially I had difficulty sustaining its spiciness, but over time as I got accustomed to it, I never cease to be amazed at its variety and taste.

My quest to sample variations of Andhra cuisine has taken me to various Andhra restaurants and messes in Hyderabad, Vizag and other places. I have heard from many friends regarding Indu Deluxe Restaurant next to Kamat Hotel near Ravindra Bharathi, and was looking forward to a chance to visit it. So when The Hindu Theatre Festival was on in Ravindra Bharathi, I landed up in Indu with my wife after enjoying a Korean play in the festival.

The restaurant is a no-frill one, but it is very clean. 4 seater clean tables already had aluminium square thalis placed over it – the ones with places for rice in the centre and different slots for placing the vegetables. A menu board is hung near the reception with the limited menu and prices. The waiters were standing by in white dress ready to serve us .

I had been advised by my good friend Sankalp regarding what to order. We were hungry as hell, and so without further ado, we ordered for Vegetarian thalis along with Fish Pulusu and Chicken Roast (actually I was advised to order Mutton roast, but since I was having a lot of mutton in the last few days, I decided on chicken).

The Vegetarian thali (Rs 125 per person) was served at once. It fitted neatly into the meal thali. Sambar, rasam and curd were served in small bowls separately.

I started with rice and Dondakaya chutney. I am extremely fond of the Andhra chutneys and am amazed how many different variations are there with different vegetables used in them. The dondakaya chutney was tangy with an amazing taste, and I really enjoyed this with rice, papad and raw onion slices. I came to know from fellow foodie Vishnu in a discussion later, that of the various varieties of Andhra chutneys this perishable variety is called tokku.

Next was rice with dal. The dal was Tomato pappu and gave a divine taste with melted ghee on top along with avakaya pickle and papad. There were two vegetables – one was a turai and dal based vegetable, but the one I loved was the drumstick curry, which had a sweetish taste with thick masala.

Next I tried out the sambar and rasam. Here I was disappointed. The sambar seemed tasteless and the rasam dilute, unlike the tangy and tasteful rasam that is served in the Andhra messes.

The non-vegetarian items were served by now and we turned our attention to the chicken roast (Rs 150 per plate). It was a dry dish with the fried brown masala holding on to the soft chicken. This was really out of the world. We quickly savored the entire dish with more rice and raw onion slices.

The fish pulusu (Rs 160) was also tasty, but I have had better pulusu in other restaurants in Hyderabad, and in Nellore. This was slightly sourer and less spicy. In Andhra cuisine unlike our Bengali cooking, in most recipes the fish is not fried and then cooked, rather it is boiled in the curry, giving it a different taste altogether.

At the end of trying all the items, I again went back my favorite the Dondakaya chutney and had a bit of it with rice. We ended our meal with having the thick curd on our own the Bengali style, not combining it with rice.

Overall it was a very satisfying meal. Unlike some other Andhra messes there is less chili powder used in the food here making it easier from people originally from other parts of the country to enjoy their meals here. Maybe it has something to do with the interstate bus stop nearby.

Meals for two with two non-vegetarian additional dishes cost us Rs 560. Service is very fast. Recommend for a sumptuous Andhra meal which is light on the pocket.

Hotel Indu Deluxe is one of the oldest restaurants in Hyderabad, located near Kamat and Reserve Bank of India. It offers a variety of cuisines, such as North Indian, Mughlai, Biryani, and Beverages. The restaurant is known for its elaborate and extensive menu, as well as its fresh and delicious food. The service is prompt and the staff is courteous. The ambience is pleasant and the interiors are well-maintained. The restaurant is suitable for family dining and takeaway. The prices are reasonable and the portions are generous. Some of the popular dishes at Hotel Indu Deluxe are chicken biryani, mutton fry, south Indian thali, and rasam. The restaurant also serves desserts and ice cream. The restaurant is open from 11:30 am to 4:30 pm and from 7 pm to 10:30 pm on all days of the week. The restaurant accepts cash and cards, as well as digital payments. The restaurant also offers home delivery via Swiggy. Overall, Hotel Indu Deluxe is a good option for those who are looking for a satisfying and affordable meal in Hyderabad. The restaurant has a loyal customer base and a reputation for quality and taste. However, some customers have complained about the spice levels and the leakage of sambar in the delivery packages. The restaurant could improve on these aspects to enhance the customer experience. Hotel Indu Deluxe is a recommended place for anyone who loves authentic Andhra meals and biryani.

Not sure why there are so many negative reviews, probably it’s because people went there with experience/expectations of the restaurant pre make-over. (They recently had a renovation. It used to have very different interiors, menu and pricing). The veg thali is one of the best I’ve had in Hyderabad. (Very similar to Kakatiya mess, but much healthier version, lesser oil, spices) A must visit. Great interiors, comparable to taj/itc.
