great food and friendly service....great value for money....love this place..!!!
Wishing Ambarish and team all the best for the good initiative. Hope OUR MARATHI KATTA with grow leaps and bounds in the coming days. Wish you all the best and GOD bless you dear.
This is THE place for every maharashtrian missing food from home. We ordered the sabudana khichdi, sabudana wada and thalipeeth. Great portion size enough for 2. And absolutely authentic. They give you the theche with the thalipeeth which is awesome!!
We went there for the first time as we had heard good things about it. This along with Chaska is considered the best option for Marathi food in Hyderabad.
It is quite a small place but not crowded. We ordered masala bhat which was ok and poli-bhaji (methi-tomato) and puran poli which were quite good. It is served in one plate only so if 2 people want to eat, they have to share in it.
We went around 1 pm but even snacks items are available at that time. Plus things like dahi, tak etc are also available during lunch which you can order. The quantity of vegetable can be a bit more ( methi had shrunk bringing the quantity down). But overall a good option if you are craving Marathi food, especially puran poli.
This place is a best place to have authentic Marathi food at very affordable prices, I loved the taste of food here , amazing people they are so welcoming
Being Maharashtrian I was looking for regional food, and i found marathi katta. I was went with my friends.
First We ordered for pithl bhakar and chana masala with chapati. Pithl Bhakar was excellent. It was like homemade. We again repeat the same twice. Awesome.. 👌
Enjoy a lot... Will visit again.
Thank you.
Best place for Maharashtra food must visit & Enjoy the Food. The staff and all the team members are cooperative and attentive.Shabudana Khichadi must try
A small place that's very difficult to find, in a narrow lane of Koti. We ordered Sabudana wada and Kanda Bhaji. The customer service is very good and the food is prepared by Marathi women. The seating is not for more than 10 people but definitely worth giving it a try.
#Marathi Katta is an awesome place where I had amazing Maharastrian cuisine. I would recommend everyone to visit this place.I would rate 5 on 5 for food, hygiene, time for preparation, the variants they serve.
Amazingly authentic Marathi 'home-cooked' food at reasonable prices, served with 'traditional' Indian hospitality. Ample vegetables, rather than palette of gravies. If ambience bothers you, too bad you value it over food.
And to think they're already up to speed with all home delivery services, this one is going places.
Hope they open for breakfast too and soon!
Taste for food is really good and it gives feeling of having home made food.Masale bhat is really tasty. Misal pav taste need little improvement but overall I love this place and food.😍
Nice place for #MaharashtrianFood in #Hyderabad. Food was really tasty. All the given menu was available even at night. Awesome food and great service. Every Marathi food lover should visit this place.
Awesome food , Misal Paav was so great , as I want spicy and tasty . Pohe were also nice and made me remembered my home sweet home , every Marathi food lover should come once here , because I know once who come will come regularly
Only restaurant serving marathi cuisine in Hyderabad. The taste is quite authentic. The decor needs a lot of uplifting. Very very average ambience. They also deliver food right upto Gachibowli (above certain amount). Their Diwali faral is just awesome.
Superb food...like totally home made...does justice to every dish..misal pav made me feel like i was actually in Maharashtra.sabudana khichdi is just like how my mom makes it..kokam juice,so soothing and poha tasted yumm too...guys pls do order or visit this place...u all have to encourage such places which makes one feel like home away from home.... Marathi katta, pls add more Maharashtrian dishes and keep killing it !!
Hidden in the bylanes of sultan Bazar is this amazing marathi joint. I have been craving for authentic maharashtrian food in hyd and when people started talking about it wanted to give it a shot. Ambience is pretty basic and taste is pretty authentic. I had their weekend specials vangi curry + bhakri n puran poli and both tasted awesome. Their kokum sharbath also tasted very authentic. The pricing is very moderate for the quality and taste you are getting. Will definitely come back to this place to try their other dishes.
All my stars are for the wada pav! They make "the best wadapav". And must say that sabudhani wada and all the podulu there are good too. If you wanna taste the real Marathi food now you know where to go!!!!
It is one of the best place to have Maharashtrian cusine in Hyderabad. The food is completely home made. Overall it's good. They have limited menu but that is more then enough to give a try.
awesome food...great quality and even good quantiy... 500% worth of money..
Misal pav was woooooowwww.. had it for the first time and it was a blast of flavours on my taste bud..
good n tasty.. Expected to be more quality
Tasty Saboodana Khichdi! Difficult to find in a city like Hyderabad!
Excellent Maharashtrian Cuisine. But, very limited menu
One of those accidental discoveries ! On my way to Koti market and forced to deboard the bus because of the huge processions of Hanuman Jayanti at Basheer Bagh, I stumbled upon this place on a hot afternoon for a quick meal. Basic but clean and small setup with 3 - 4 tables, I ordered weekend special Bhakri-Brinjal Curry combo which was served in no time. The bhakris were hot and fresh and the brinjal curry had a very different but delicious base, derived largely out of peanuts and maybe a bit of cream. Impressed by the taste, i went ahead and ordered Pooran Poli which was again a delight to eat, hot and freshly prepared with the humble sweetness of molten mawa and daal paste oozing out. The side served with Poorabn Poli was a very lightly flavored sour n sweet decoction, with subtle hints of raw mango. All this for just 90 bucks made it an ultimate VFM meal. Would love to visit again , when in this part of the city.
Taste is good but can be little more better..
Located in the narrow, bustling lanes of Badi Chowdi, this place as the name suggests promises to serve authentic Marathi cuisine. The menu options are pretty limited but they’ve all the essentials covered, Misal Pav, Sabudana Wada, Pohe, Kokam Juice etc. The ambiance is modest, with a couple of tables, a small yet busy open kitchen overlooking the seating area.
Went with a couple of friends for a quick dinner, ordered Sabudana Wada to start with, took some time to arrive but it was freshly prepared and was cooked to perfection. Then came the Misal Pav, again, tasted really good, we also ordered a couple of Wada Pavs, they were served hot and were spiced to perfection. Finished off with some Kokam juice and Lemon Ginger juice, pretty decent. Overall a really good experience, freshly cooked, hygienic and authentic flavours, can’t ask for more.
My only issue with this place is the portion size, the size of the portions served here are smaller than what one would expect for the price charged, otherwise, this is an amazing place to experience some authentic flavours.
They are busy serving their swiggy customers even if the required item is prepared they will first serve it to online customers no matter you have to wait even for 30 minutes very late service.
Visited Marathi Katta.Food was excellent..very tasty & authentic marathi flavour...for food I give 8/10..
They should improve the ambience .
Though it is a self service restaurant, they tried to give courteous service....It was a good experience...
This review is coming from a Hyderabadi who stayed in Pune for 8 years and fell in love with the city before moving back. A legitimate answer to your nostalgia. For the 30 min I spent here, I felt like I was in Pune. Authentic taste and decent place and service. Luckily I stay nearby and am going to come back here whenever I miss Pune
One of the great place in Hyderabad to have Pithala aka Zunka Bhakri..... Grt Taste.... You will not find anywhere in Hyderabad. Must visit place if you like Zunka Bhakri. #Maharashtrain #ZunkaBhakari
We were searching for misal pav for past few months. Finally landed to this place( refered by my uncle). Misal pav and sabudhana wada tasted authentic.
Felt like home food. Loved the pitla bhakri, sabudana wada and masala chaha...
Didn't expect to find such good Maharashtrian food in the middle of sultan bazaar.
Good place to try Marathi cuisine. Misal pav is tasty, Kanda bhajji was yummy, crunchy and tasty too.
Kokam soda is a must try when you visit.
The food is authentic Maharashtrian. Went on Sunday afternoon. The place serves all sort of Maharashtrian cuisines. We ordered pooran poli, sabudana wada, bharle (stuffed) wange (brinjal) and bhakri, komam juice and lemon ginger soda. All the dishes were pretty good in terms of taste and quality. The restaurant has more dishes than what we ordered. Would prefer to give another visit for sure.
While searching for places that serve Maharashtrian food, I came across this place and decided to try it out though its a fair distance from my house.
Marathi Katta is a small yet well maintained place in Badichowdi, near Sultan Bazaar and is a good place if you're craving for some Maharashtrian food. The nearest metro station is Sultan Bazaar. We tried out Misal Pav, Thalipeeth, Sabudana Vada and Kokam sharbat.
Misal was a little spicy and even with the Pav, the spice wasn't neutralized, but, overall taste was good.
Thalipeeth was excellent. It was served with 'thecha' - a spiced chilli pickel and curd.
Sabudana wada was also good to taste and Kokam sharbat was nice and refreshing.
Suggestions: 1. Can serve the farsan separately along with Misal Pav, so, it can be added as per the diners requirement. Not everyone likes a lot of farsan in their misal.
2. Can be flexible with the quantity and introduce half plates, so that, more dishes can be tried, for eg: serve 1 Thalipeeth instead of 2 as a mandate, half plate Sabudana Vada or Puran Poli, etc. This will reduce the portions and the pricing can be done accordingly.
The place is clean and looks hygeinic, can stop in for some good Maharashtrian delicacies.
Suggestion for diners: Avoid taking a car, either a 2 wheeler or taking public transport will be better.
Was in Hyderabad for some time and this was my go to place to have some maharashtrian food whenever I used to miss the आईच्या हातचा वरण भात or mumbai cha vada pav or pav bhaji or kothimbir vadi! Loved the place as it reminded me of my Home in a city far away from home.
Very good restaurant, I have order Maharashtrian thali, bakari with vanga ki bhaji and wada pav
Superb taste 👌 service was also good and proper hygiene maintained. Ambience were also good. 👌
Definitely recommend it if you are looking for Maharashtrian food.✌️
First I was wondering what place did my friend find in this small lane. I think it's actually house. But as I entered was pleasantly surprised to see the place. First thing which caught my attention was neat and clean ambience. Courteous staff who were good to serve us the best.
We ordered Pav Bhaji, Dahi Poori, Vada Pav, Wheat Kheer and Kokum With Soad. All are good.
But for sure one thing I will close my eyes and can say with a happy heart, whenever I think of Vada Pav I will always remember this place. It was too good and delicious is an understatement. It was that good and yum. If interested please do try.
This is a pure vegetarian place in Marathi style and for a change it was great to experience it and I am glad I found a new place. 👍😀
Had the best Vada pav in Hyderabad here.
Perfect place for traditional marathi food.i really like the jawar roti with pitla.Thali was super yummy. The masala vangri is a must try
Also the masala rice..I tried missal pav for the first time and loved it.
Good Vegetarian place for authentic Maharashtrian cuisines. Peaceful and spacious sitting arrangements. This is my go-to place when in Koti.
One of the better place for Marathi food in Hyderabad. They need to advertise more & have better signage. Basic seating but good food. Reasonably priced also. If you are looking for maharashtrian food in Hyderabad, the best option
Very delicious food and fast service with humble staff☺️
Must visit😊
This place is especially for Maharashtrian Food Lovers. It has a really good ambience, wide menu, variety of dishes and snacks. You can also find Namkeens. I've tried only Vada Pav, it really tasted good. The Quantity was good enough for its price, It costs Rs.30/- only.
I went there on weekend and trust me guys you should try it ..the best pithla bhakar i ever had ,also thali was superbb ..schme Ghar ki yad aa jayegi...do give a try ..❤️❤️❤️.....#Marathikatta#Maharastra
Nice and clean little place with decent ALL VEGETARIAN food. Few spaces for two wheeler parking but there about it. They do deliver.
Best home made food for travelers specially from maharashtra. tasty foods. chapati, bhakri, roti available.
Misal Pav Cravings? This is one of the finest places in the neighborhood that serves really authentic Maharashtrian food. I really loved the misal pav, sabhudna vada, sabudhana Khichdi and Masala Vangi Bhakri. Must try to experience the maharashtrian cusine.
Tucked away in one of the by-lanes of Sultan Bazaar, about 10– 15 minutes walk from the Sultan Bazaar Metro station, I had no problem in finding it. I had intended to visit long back, but COVID threw a spanner in the works.
I had been expecting proper meals, as their by-line says snacks, meals etc etc.... My bad, I couldn't taste a proper Marathi thali which I had been yearning for.
I had Sabu Dana khichdi, Masale Bhat and my favourite KOKUM juice. The khichdi & Bhat were served hot and quite tasty.
