This little buzzing Chinese restaurant in the back alley of Nanking is a hidden gem 😉
Basically is a backdoor for Nanking, known by very few loyal customers, sweet interiors and food from the shared kitchen gives you the same experience.
Found it few years ago when Nanking was full and we had to search for an alternate place.
Now coming to the review: absolute good old Chinese food, all time favourites fried noodels, drum sticks and ginger chicken, decent service on a busy day have to wait at least for 20-25 mins for your food to arrive.
Though a lot of new Nanking outlets have opened across the city.. this stays to be truly authentic.
Seen a slight decline in flavours since last few years but hoping they'll come back to glory. 🙂
Nice cozy place. Service and food is excellent. Never too crowded. Chicken drumsticks and chilli prawns are delicious. Value for money. Portions are very generous.
This restaurant is probably a branch of Nanking situated nearby. From the tissues, cutleries to menu everything is same at both the places. Prices are bit on the higher side. Since I visited at a late lunch hour and they were about to close, it was totally empty and they were not so willing to take orders. I chose Nanking special dry chicken which was probably already made (since it was served pretty quick). It tasted good. Well I could order only this dish since they were reluctant to take orders so late and I was terribly hungry to wander for another eatery.
This is one restaurant that is located in a residential lane near Parklane that will not be in view of anyone visiting the area the first time and mostly recommended when Nanking has no seats to offer immediately. Finding parking space maybe sometimes a challenge which is understandable considering it's residential yet commercial surroundings.
This said, the food quality and quantity is similar to that of Nanking. The ambience is pretty peaceful to have quality conversation over food. My mum swears by the Pork noodles served here with it's meat to noodles ratio definitely higher when compared to that of chicken or prawns. Service swings from being excellent to sometimes average. Weekdays are the best as there isn't jostling for space.
This place is an extension of Nanking and is situated right behind Nanking. The ambience is good. Expect waiting on weekends but on weekdays there is not much crowd. Similar to nanking chicken drumsticks is a must have. Soups are great especially chicken corn soup. All the starters and main course are good. Pork is available too.
Ginger chicken and Lemon Chicken are.Out of.the world..
The staff is very polite and helpful.. all dishes suggested by them were well cooked to.the palette requested for.. seating is dim light for nice unwinding mood.. getting a parking for your car is a bit of concern to wager for the awesome food you get ..
Ambience-3.5/5
Food-3.5/5
Service-4/5
Its a very authentic Chinese restaurant, they take sometime to get your order but I can say that the food is amazing. The bamboo shoots soup is the best (clear soup) here and the starters are pretty good. My usual order chicken drumsticks, chilly panner/mushrrom/chicken, with veg/egg soft noodles or rice. The american and Chinese chopsuey are pretty good too. It a must try for the soup and started if you are a fan of Chinese food.
Ordered chicken mushroom bamboo shoots soup and hell wow! The mushroom just blasted into little smoky savory flavor in my mouth. Loved it sooooooooooo much. The soup was loaded and unlike they said, it's definitely not clear soup. But just WOW. That mushroom took me to places! Crispy pork with pickle sauce was something only my imagination had tasted. A must eat, that too. We also got shredded pork soft noodlest, albeit the noodles was too mushy but the sauce was too yum! I wouldn't order that again. Sadly, they did not have Pancake strips in honey sauce, anyone had that? PS: Naan King is Liu's Kitchen! Although, the table was dusty, the waiter dusted table cloths (40 minutes after we'd settled) and showered us with the same. Hosting is terrible. To compensate, it was the first time this happened to me in Liu's Kitchen.
This place is my family's regular adda for me. Because we visit here very often. On all spcl occasions like bdays, new year, marriage day. Etc. Ambience here is quiet decent. Food tastes delicious. Drumsticks is for sure order for us. Food service is very excellent. Must visit place for Chinese :)
A sister concern of nanking a prominant name in chinese resturant this place is where i regularly visit .my all time favourite is their chicken drumsticks ,schzwan fish, chilly chicken ,chicken soft noodles and egg fried rice ..the quantity they serve is quite good .
parking is not an issue here..
Service.....3/5
Ambience....3/5
Food.........3.5/5
Verdict......a must visit for thier chicken drumsticks and chilly chicken..
I didn't expect to find such a beautiful dining location in old city but to my surprise this place is near perfect. The food, the ambience and the staff everything is just perfect. Orders arrive quickly too. Only complaint is the staff serving food should keep an eye out for when a plate goes empty and should immediately serve. Yes the lighting can be improved too but, I guess the dim lighting is signature to all places serving Chinese. Intimately no beef here, I wonder why?
PS: Pork dishes are unreal. Way too good. Must try.
PPS: It's a little too pricey considering the average Hyderabad prices so beware.
Excellent restaurant. You see exact Chinese cuisine here. Everything here is admiring. And food..........wow! It's fantastic. I admire it a lot. Don't forget to eat American chop suey here.
The quantity of food is overwhelming, variety is quiet a lot and food is good. Over all experience was satisfying. We had schewan chicken, fried noodles with soup and noodles.

This restaurant has always been in the top list of my Chinese preferences. My favorite dishes here include chicken balls and ginger chicken. I love the taste here. It's simply superb...
Inside, we get the feel of sitting in a real Chinese restaurant with Chinese people serving the food and the ambience being so chinky. :P
The place where you go when you don't get seat in Nanking- the place that shares the same kitchen with Nan King- that's how i remember this place. The ambiance and service are okay for me here- nothing great. I just come here for one reason and that is always their delicious pork dishes. All other dishes are just about fine. The quantity you get is worth the money you spend. Three of us once had stomach fool of food by just ordering a 2/3 soup, one pork noodle, and one Scheswan pork.
Update: Went here yesterday. Had a great time with friends. The quantity of all dishes were awesome. We had Chicken drumsticks, shezwan pork, egg noodle, ginger prawns and lime juice. Fell in love with the ginger prawns!
NanKing's next-door cousin that's just as bad lookin' and yet, like the more popular cousin, keeps you going back for more.
The restaurant is run by the same good people at NanKing, but I know some people who'd say a Russell Peters-esque "Liu's is Liu's" Â ;-)
The menu is familiar, as is the ambience -- loud chatter, damp-smelling tablecloths, and elbows-in clutter. The food is fabulous, though, and the service is cheerful and prompt.
Protips:
Fried Pork in Pickle SaucePork Soft Noodles
Chicken Drumsticks
Chicken-Mushroom-BambooShoot Noodles
Chicken Steamed Rice (great comfort food)
Fresh Lime Soda
You're unlikely to be able to find a space to park during the day, but post 8, parking should be easy.
Go!

The Nanking reincarnated... while, on the final days the quality and value of Nanking both on food and services had a fall from grace, it's heartening to find that The Liu's has given it a fresh lease of life. They have done well to preserve the old nanking menu but has given the ambiance a nice facelift... an order for two can easily feed three and we found the food amazing. Tried out the time tested Chicken Drumstick, Special Mixed Soft Noodles, Fried Pork in Chilli and Hunan Prawn and have been quite satisfied with the order...Â

The best authentic Chinese restaurant in hyderabad in budget class.
I visit this place when ever I visit hyderabad.
Specially the staters are awesome.
Their Chicken drumstick is the best in the town. And is a must try.
Fried prawn is also good.
Liu's, the restaurant run in place of the famous Nanking, by the same management and kitchen, is so similar to its old version and the branch in Banjara Hills that it was hard to differentiate for me. Having ate different stuff here, I still had the feel of the Banjara branch, to which I have been numerous times.
On this visit we ordered Prawn Noodles, Veg Soft Noodles, Chicken Drumstick, Schezwan Chicken, Veg Munchurian, and Veg Spring Roll, for 4 people.
... I loved the Chicken Drumstick because it was hot, crunchy, and didn't stick to the bone. Very good in taste.
... The Schezwan Chicken had lesser quantity than expected and previously eaten, but still very good.
... The Prawn Noodles were a letdown because of the minimal quantity of the prawns and not apparent taste in them. The pieces were slightly shabby.
... Veg Noodles, Munchurian and Spring Rolls were just good, nothing special.
My friends were not aware of the generous quantities offered here, and hence we couldn't finish it all.
I didn't like the closely stacked tables, less walking and leg space, tiny size of chairs and small tables. We had to adjust a lot to have everything on the table. So my advice: Don't order everything at once!
But we had a hard time finding it in a small ignored lane near SD Road, been here in search of Nanking, when we were told on the phone that it is closed.
Overall the food was very good and the prices were reasonable. Recommended without any inhibitions!
What most people don't know is that Liu's is a sister joint of the very famous 'Nan King'. Both the restaurants share the same kitchen. I had stumbled upon Liu's on one famished afternoon, when Nan King was completely seatless, and my heart was broken. Over the years, I have grown to love Liu's much more than Nan King.
Although Liu's is much smaller and tucked away in a remote lane around the corner, it's quieter and much more ambient, which is what made me fall in love with the place. As most people don't know about it, there's not too much rush here and the waiters are much more courteous and friendly. The menu is the same as Nan King's, and there's always a table for you here.
If you ever visit, you should definitely try their Special mixed soft noodles, Pork chilli fry, and Hong Kong chicken. I have been frequenting the place over the last 4 years, and these days I don't even bother asking if there's a table available in Nan King. I just walk around over to Liu's. The quiet and unhurried atmosphere there always makes me walk out with a smile and a stuffed stomach!
Good quiet place with decent food. I hear its the same food as nanking.
Clam and cozy place.. ideally an extension of nanking..the wait time is almost similar.. good place for a simple Chinese dinner.
Lately have noticed a decline in service and flavours. Hoping they'll improve again.
Had lunch with Egg noodles and veg curry. Test of noodles was acceptable with nothing special but veg curry was good.
Ambience is pleasant and service is above okay.
Location is off the road but can be easily located.
Run by Nanking and has the same menu, albeit arrogant waiters and long wait times. I guess you can be so if your food is amazing which it is, but for the price and the ambience offered, the place can be a little more proactive with orders. It will take time to get your orders here.
Lovely place, calm, great ambiance, as usual great food and lower taxes. Yes you read it right. Slight difference in the overall bill compared to other Nanking branches.
One of the best chinese restaurant chains in Hyderabad. The place is not visible from the main road so you need some kind of navigation and from then you get used to it.It has ample parking space and the seating is limited. You get authentic chinese food in the restaurant.Chicken pakoda, fried rice, chilly chicken, chicken drumsticks and steamed rice are must haves when you go to this restaurant. You get good quantity and quality of food for the price you pay.It is a value for moneg chinese restaurant.Must visit if you are a chinese lover!
Its a good chinese restaurant, they serve fast compared to others... You can enjoy with family too, costs more...
It's a very good restaurant. My favourite place to have good food.I am coming to this place from past many years. It's a good pleasant place, good interior, lightings, tables and most importantly good Chinese.
Delicious food for reasonable price. Good place to hang out with friends and family.
Great food. Not too pricey also. The share kitchen with Nan King.
Our family's favorite place. Never disappointed as far as food is concerned👌
When it comes to food it all depends on taste buds, book a table in advance to avoid disappointment, portions are decent if you know what you want order it otherwise ask the captain for assistance.
It's an extension to Nanking secunderabad..taste and ambience are good.. service is fast.. pocket friendly..portion size is good..good for spending time with family
