good and tasty but biryani quantity is less
Since parking is a problem to get here ,I always skipped this in spite of passing through this lane multiple times .after a shopping session in heritage ,tried this place . surprisingly all the 3 joints are good here the chips shop ,and the bakery
The quality is very well maintained always greeted warmly by the owner .the chicken fry is super duper,so were the prawns ,all have pure andhra preparation and the vegetarian options are also yummy. The kakarkay palli fry ,the chutneys . everything was fresh .do try ...

It’s been quite some eventful years in Hyderabad and the curry points scattered all across the city have been my favorite places for food explorations. This is where some of the most authentic Andhra and Telengana food springs from their kitchens. Be it for a quick parcel or a party, these places have been life-savers for me. I take the Film Nagar route to work and back every day and the new Ghumaghumalu.
At first I peeked real hard everyday to try and decipher the name which is written in Telugu, a language which I can’t read. But on walking in one night to pick up a parcel, the spread behind the counter enticed me. Chicken wings, chicken fry and Gongura Mutton were my orders I picked that night.
I’ve lately come to favor Andhra food in the recent months. Call it a phase but the spiciness feels great once in a while. And the food from Ghumaghumalu served it’s exact necessity. It’s hard sometimes to miss these curry points, if you don’t reside in the area. But they do have some great food to offer.
Hello foodies!!!
Ghumaghumalu meaning aroma in English was what do you call a lucky find for me on a chilly night.
It's a small take away joint specializing in Andhra cuisine.
I on that day ordered two biryani rice with boneless chicken fry.
The quantity was very good and coming yo taste I was literally blown away.
Never tasted a better biryani rice from a take away joint.
The rice was perfect blend of rich spices. Being a spice lover I loved it. Coming to fry it was equally good.
Caution...if you don't like spicy food with oil stay away from this joint.
Raghav ....bon apetite.
Ghumaghumalu is a good place for all kinds of non-veg curries and fried items ..I take parcels here every now and then ..and I never felt that the taste was not good or anything like that . But one thing that lags is that they say they have vegetarian but the veg curries suck to the core ...so it'll always be like I take non-veg items here and go to any other place to take veg items
Overall its a good place for non-veg items , and hope they improve the quality and taste of the veg items also
This is a small take away joint located in the lane beside Heritage Fresh in Film Nagar specializing in non Veg dishes from the seemandhra region.
Tried their chicken curry, chicken fry, mutton curry, mutton fry, sora and fish. Extremely spicy and excessively oily, this is one place where you shouldn't visit if you are a health freak or someone who can't handle spicy food. But if you are someone who relishes non Veg cuisines from coastal andhra, you have got to try this place for sure.
I swear to god, I'm not a pig. We do eat out a lot, but I also keep forgetting to write reviews for the places we go. Ghumaghumalu is one such place. My husband has been getting his Friday night meat fix from here since a couple of years now and I wanted to wait to consolidate his experiences before I wrote a review.
Let's end the surprise with this: it's a hit and miss place. My husband has ordered quail fry (rarity, so he got lucky a few times), chicken fry, mutton fry, natukodi fry, gongura chicken, karvepaku chicken, boneless chicken curry, chicken biryani and natukodi chicken fry. He has always complained about how greasy and overly spicy the food is. He always justifies it by saying his tastebuds needed to be 'revived'. I just roll my eyes when I hear this. But by sheer observation of his friends and him, I noted that the quail fry, natukodi fry, chicken curry and the gongura chicken are the biggest hits. They always say how nicely the meat falls apart and that the sucking of the bones is a tasty affair.
I don't like how ghumagumalu absolutely has no vegetarian option! How blatantly meatist of them!
We went on a family dinner.. Food was really yummy, Nd it's so higinicly maintained. We had apolo fish & special mutton biryani.. Tastes amazing... Worth paying for this food. Rates are really reasonable.
Place where over crowded , food is providing at very affordable price , but parking issues will be faced for 4 wheelers and 2 wheelers.
Worth visiting for Curry's & Veg biryani. Veg biryani (palav) here is very pocket friendly.
Curries are really nice. Bone less fry, biryani, gongura chicken are good.
