Everytime I have been to this place, it has never disappointed us! Even for catering order apart from the initial teething issues, the food has been liked by all everytime.

Almost 4 yrs now that I have been a regular at this restaurant. Not a very fancy place, but they do the most important thing perfectly.. Which is serving delicious Bengali food. The best thing is that the food is absolutely fresh, since the menu keeps changing daily. Awesome hospitality too. Just the perfect place for Bengali food away from home
This has been almost 6 years since I started visiting this restaurant. The food is awesome specially chicken( saahi chicken). Lovely to have home chicken taste on my plate when you are famished in the Saturday afternoon :P
Ordered fish curry - the style of the dish was homely while I really liked. However, it was somewhere between a tel jhol and a simple fish curry. It could have used little less water and little more masala. However, the freshness of the fish was too perfect to look into other things. Please add authentic Bengali dishes like phulkopi macher jhol and begun die macher jhol.
A very small outlet located in kondapur. The food is like homemade bengali food and one can have it on regular basis. The mutton and fish thali are too good. They also serve evening snacks like cutlet chop etc.
Ambience is not so good , so take away is the best option.

I was looking for some comfort food on a sunday afternoon and this place is a delight for that. I ordered mutton thali. The mutton curry was very good with good 4 pieces of mutton and potato in it. It was served with a mixed veg sabzi cooked in a posto(khuskhus) gravy and a simple
dal. The thali was apt for a homely meal.
Note: The mutton curry had a layer of floating oil which I discarded before eating.
Very nice bengali food. Took home delivery for 4-5 months. Very satisfied with the menu and quality of the food . Ideal for home delivery for those who wants bengali food.

Staff was very homely and courteous.
They can improve on the location and ambience a bit.The place is too small and probably take away is a better option.
Now coming to the food, we ordered A mutton thali and a Kolkata biriyani.Kolkata Biriyani is a speciality on sundays most probably.
They also had Pabda and Telepia Fish.
The Biriyani, was average.It was quite spicy compared to the mildy spiced Kolkata Biriyani.I think they made it, keeping the hyderabad Population in mind too, who normally eats spicy Biriyani.
The mutton thali was good enough.
There was 4 small pieces of mutton and they can really improve the quantity a bit. what i loved was that the mutton was good and tender and also had a piece of Alu in it, as we Bengalis love!
They gave fish head with cabbage curry which was really good and tasty.The dal was okay.
Overall, yes.Good food for a sunday.But they can really improve on the sitting arrangement and Ambience a bit.

Have tried their samosa, vegetable cutlet, egg cutlet and bread pakoda in the last two days, quick service, small setup which gets seriously crowded on weekend evenings, but definitely the best cutlets I have had in recent times and at a very reasonable price. Recommended!
The food is like homemade bengali food. Thus one can have it regularly. I love their fish and mutton curry the most. I go there often on weekends and I am very happy to see them deliver food recently. I would recommend this for daily food.

No nonsense place. Very small, very homely and true value for money. I go there every week or whenever I miss home. Food is non-spicy and always fresh unlike many other Bengali food joints in the vicinity.

It is very near to my place. I do watch it regularly and thought of eating some Bengali variety for today's lunch. I know it is a very small outlet maintained by a Bengali family and thought it will be free every time. But to my surprise I waited for 45minutes to get a seat. True, it is always busy for lunch. It has a seating capacity of maximum 15(4 tables). IT people visit this place very frequently even Bengali families nearby take parcels from here. I ordered for mutton thali with one more veg Curry and dal. That was a perfect meal I can say. Mutton curry was really good.
150 for a mutton meal is ideal. Moreover taste was really great.

One of the finest places in city for the Bengali food. The hilsa fish thali which we ordered was like crazy one of the best in recent time. Don't miss out the price is fine and ambiance is decent.

If you are Bengali and missing your home-cooked food for quite some time,you may try this one.This one can be a bit difficult to find and may not soothe your eyes with its decorum.But when it comes to food and value for money,it is one of the best in the town.

Oasis in the Desert. ..this is what I call this place. I stay 30km far from this place but it is the food, quality and service which brings me here. Though I am not a regular but whenever I go I am not disappointed. I have tried some other joints who serve bengali foods in that area but not up to this place. Keep it up and all the best for your future.

This place is a very small joint in kondapur , much like the eateries found in Kolkata definitely appeals the bachelors who would be regular visit here with having daily homemade style thalis . During the evening you would find a small stall outside to serve the snacks the Kolkata style Veg Chop , Alu Samosa , Beguni.I have crossed this place many times while returning from office and one fine day on Sunday Evening I had been for just stroll went to this shop for evening snacks.I asked him to parcel 4 vegetable chop and 2 Alu Samosa. The person immediately fried fresh vegetable chop and Alu samosa. packed in the cover and he gave some diced onions and carrot . This type of serving is very common in Kolkata so it is very cheap. The total cost was Rs 60. Nice homely Bengali food. Unlimited thalis. More of a take away place. The fish curry had a nice tangy taste and the jackfruit was perfectly spiced.
Diwakar is minimalist bengali mess with standard bengali which tastes quite good..Been there a few times..Tried their Chingri Jaal, Dhokar Dalna and Macher jhol..The taste was the better than any bengali joints that I have visited in Hyderabad..The service is prompt and the price..I am sure that they could do well with a little more variety..

A very low key and underrated eat out , yet with a strong potential.It can definitely become one of the most sought-after bengali restauarants if it focusses on expanding its business plans , leveraging its food preparation.
I went to this place on a Friday lunch with 2 of my friends who hail from the east, like me.We are all mutton lovers and each of us ordered 3 separate thalis of fish, mutton and chicken.The veg thali consisted of rice, plain dal,potal kosha and lauki ka sabji.
With that there was one dish of the non-veg item which had 3-4 medium sized pieces.The taste of each of the curries was just awesome , which made me to think that if the folks bring in more varieties in the menu( like adding khatta, dahi baigan or papd), it will be an instant hit.The prices were also very down-to-earth.

Many eateries have tried to nail the taste of Oriya snacks and failed. Thankfully DIWAKAR breaks that norm and stands out. I have read quite a few times about them and decided to try and bust the myth. On the contrary, it was My prejudice that was busted and that too on a grand scale! Its conveniently located at Kondapur (lane next to Kerala Kitchen). When I reached there, at about 5:30PM, they had just started frying the samosas and the area was filled with the aroma which so reminded me of home! To make a long story short, I ordered 2 samosas, 1 each of alu-chop, egg-chop, vegetable-chop and bread-chop. The stuffing-masala was the same for all 5 items and was perfectly spiced. The crust of each type of chop was thin enough to be crispy yet flaky. There was a lot of peanuts which greatly enhanced the authenticity and the "back-home" feel. All 6 items cost me just 43/- which, given the taste, is Great value for money! Considering the fact that winter is just starting, this will just add "chaar-chaand" to the concept of evening snacks. Will try the other items, shortly as they have won me over with the basics!

I have been to this place for uncountable times...I was in hyderabad for more than one year...and our flat was just beside this hotel..even today whenever I visit hyderabad I surely do visit this place (ofcourse with my gf :p)...
quality of food is very good...in a place like hyderabad every bong would love this kind of food and am not exception to that...dada and boudi both are very generous. Â Most importantly Many bengali people come here everyday...so you can mix up with them also...

I know Dipankar-da (the owner of this place) for the last 4 years. He used to do extensive home deliveries of homely Bengali food. Recently he has opened a small joint which is hardly 50 metre from my place, and I did extensive delivery from there.
The ambiance of the place is nothing to write about, but food is very homely (typical "ghar ka khana" in Bengali style). A large number of bachelor folks eat there regularly- so you can guess it's cheap.
The WOW factor of this place is the care taken by the owner and his wife. It really feels like you are not visiting a food joint but a friend's place. Wish them all the best.

A bong must eat what a bong must eat. I went to Diwakar the second time yesterday in the last week and probably will do today as well. This is a little place with a few tables and people with a big heart. On entering the hotel one will notice the scantily arranged chairs and plastic sheet covered tables, neatly kept, you at once will be greeted and be offered a seat as Diwakar's wife (commonly called "Boudi" ) who will rush to take your order.
They donât have a lot to offer, they have thalis, the basic stuff, you can choose from the menu drawn on a white board with green temporary makers which spell out the cost of each thali, from egg thali to mutton thali you can get all of this for a very economic pricing, which usually ranges from Rs 50 to Rs 140(I havent tried the mutton thali yet will probably try today) .
The place is clean, the food is amazing, you get the same taste that you probably savored on a meal back home, the excellent fish curry gets me every time. They are very hospitable people reaching for me every time they noticed I needed a second helping of something, water or some more rice boudi would appear with them before I every needed to ask for it.
Conveniently located within walkable distance from Kothaguda junction it is easily accessible to people from around that region. Diwakar also does office deliveries, he would charge you Rs 2100 for 7 days one time meal, you can iron out the details with him if you do want it at your office.
If you are a bong or like Bengali cuisine this place is a must, as long as you donât expect a 5 star environment (the treatment is none the less) this will satisfy the Bengali inside of you.
Had lunch today at Diwakar, nice bengali homely food. Had taken one veg thali, one fish Thali and one Chicken Thali the total bill was 240/-. It is a very small place with only 3 tables very simple and the food is very simple like homemade

Located right in the heart of Kondapur, Diwakar may just pass off as a normal tiffin center, but the place is a must be if you look into what we call as âathithi satkarâ
I would rate this place 1 in terms of ambience and probably not a place you want to go for a long lavish lunch or dinner. It has just 3 tables and during peak hours you probably have to share your table with other folks as well. But what sets this place apart is the service. âBoudhiâ (wife of the restaurant owner) is a real star and she will make you feel right at home. Serving large portions and even frowning if you seem to be eating lesser than her expectations, she single handedly manages the service when her husband is busy with deliveries.
The restaurant owner Dipankar was a delivery man and still provides âdabbaâ service to a host of folks staying in and around Kondapur. He recently opened the restaurant and must I say it will definitely pick up pace in coming months.
Menu wise there isn't much and in fact the menu is very Bengali cuisine focused. There are limited options but extremely delicious options. On an average weekend there are four thalis (chicken, Mutton and two varieties of fish) and quantities served in these are large and satisfying. Rice, dal and a vegetarian curry are usually unlimited with the main dish that is ordered with the thali. The taste is wonderful with the right quantities of spice and sweetness with the fish appropriately cooked and meat just as tender.
I have already started ordering from him regularly and never till date have I been disappointed with the menu or taste. Dipankar is a hardworking man and this restaurant will definitely flourish if he keeps up the excellent taste and service.

Bengali food is not always about the quality and quality. It is also about the care the person serving takes. A very newly opened joined in Kondapur serving excellent bengali thalis. However, what makes it different is the family of Dipankar takes in serving the customer. The portions are large and satisfying.
Dipankar used to do an extensive amount of home delivery in the hay days and slowly his hard work paid off and recently he was able to start the food joint. This gave me an opportunity to try yet another bengali food service in Hyderabad to my pleasure. The food joint though located in one of the busy streets inside Kondapur, it is very conveniently placed near the residential area. It has a seating capacity of 16 and is full during the lunch and dinner hours.
First day, I ordered the prawn thali and was astounded and bowled over by the taste of prawn malaikari with the the fried rice. It was so near to home. Another day, I tried out the chicken thali. The chicken was tenderly cooked with proper spices needed for the bengali chicken curry.
We are already planning to have some big orders from him soon. I wish him all the best and hope the quality of food and service remains the same in the long run.
