It's relatively small and cosy place, with nice ambience.
Now, though I liked main course dishes, the tomato soup was average. And so was the Paneer starter we ordered. So I suggest stick to main course dishes.

We went for lunch there and were served with scrumptious delicacies.. Everything that we ordered had a perfect taste. They offer a moderately priced menu and the food is totally worth every penny you pay.
Only thing that I dislike about the place was lack of parking facility. The service is good but the staff is not welcoming and had the Ambience been a little better I would have given it a 5.
This is the best place where I visit almost 2 times in month. I enjoy the delicious food. The recommendations by the Captain is best which I enjoy. Ambience is good. Kudos to the team. 😇

Liked the place, food everything about it.
The cashew curry was amazing along with daal tadka. The cleanliness is well maintained and the hygenie was superb. I have heard about their hygiene so tried lunch here.

It serves a perfect place to have a lunch or dinner wid family or friends. The food out here is very good. Taste is nice. The crowd here is cheerful. Service is little slow due to overcrowd. The only negative thing about this place is parking. Getting a parking is a difficult task here. Overall this place is must a visit. Place is good with the pocket.

Was here for a dinner. It was my first visit to Alav. The ambience was soft and pretty matching to the place.
Ordered Crispy Corn, Paneer Lazeez, Paneer Kolhapuri, Dal Makhni, Cheese Naan, Garlic Naan. The Crispy Corn was quite good and better than other places. Perfect proportion of spices added to it.
Paneer Lazeez and Paneer Kolhapuri were quite decent. However Kolhapuri should have been on more spicy side as per the name.
Service was fast. Prices decent. Will surely visit again to try other items on the menu.

I would recommend you to order the Lemon Coriander soup, their famous Kebab platter, Paneer Lababdar, Dal Makhani, breads and Jeera rice for the main course and you are good to go. With their prompt service you’ll be done with your meal in a jiffy; and the best part? It wouldn’t burn a hole in your pocket.
Perfect place for veg food.. awesome thing is there is always waiting for atleast 15-20 mins, still the service is worth the class. Coming on to food, we tried Chinese starters and north Indian main course which was perfectly cooked and surely worth the money. There is always rush during holidays so it’s a bit noisy inside. Parking is a lil problem here, you need to search and park the vehicle on your risk wherever u find place nearby .
Overall 4.5 for food.

I have been to Alav quite a few times. The food is delicious, and the ambience warm. The place is a bit crowded at times but the wait is worth it.
I have not visited Alav in a long time now, but from what I remember, the service was a bit slower than standard.
Btw. I love the Malai Kofta at this place.
Food is good , servicing is average and ambience is also fine. Waiting queues are very frustrating.Avoid visiting in it's peek hours, as you will end up in waiting for so long that you won't like to have anything there.
I must say for a pure indori only best place to outing with friends or family is gurukripa, but i think alav is far better than gk.great customer service less time consuming,great and pleasent ambience and most important no long waiting list.though i visited off day but it was quite good experience.
Tried shankahari kabab and it was excellent i suggest to try this is must there. Also tried paneer lahori and paneer takatak and it was nice

Location is great, food is delicious, and has an all time favourite appeal to it. Though it has all the daily available north indian meals, its quality and taSte n its sumptuous quantity are attractions enough!
Last experience of kadhai paneer was a little too spicy for normal customer taste, a thing that can be improved.!
One of the best meal i have had in a long time. We had the paneer tikka as starter. Some kofta and diwani handi. Dal tadka and jeera rice. Everything was fabulous. I look forward to visiting again soon.

We were not able to decide where to go then saw this place on zomato with good reviews so thought let's take a chance. That gamble turned out successful. It was a weekend so reserved table on table. They offered a complimentary cake.We ordered starters then main course, everything was delicious. About ambience decent lighting with great wall art and a light music as a cherry on ice cream.

This place open couple of years but it's capture hole crowd. It's a best place for vegetarians no one can bit these place. There specialist snacks main cours all stuff are best. Visited this place couple of days back with my team. Nice ambience, food quality is good. We had soups, starters and than main course. Service is also very good and matches the standard of other class restaurants of Indore.

Really liked the indoor area of restaurant, a very rich and elite ambience with good amount of natural light during day hours.

Paneer dishes are all awesome, roti/naan/parathas and rice dishes are all good. Dal Lehsuni is a must try!

I am a Connoisseur.. & Alav... is The place for vegetarianism love of Connoisseur. Yes this place is pocket friendly as well as having great taste for veggie lovers. Mostly I went there with group of 5 or more, enjoyed variety of Indian Chinese starters and sizzler ;) recently visit with my wife.She just loved the taste of cream of tomato soap there. Also we've tried crunchy Manchurian, crispy corn black pepper followed by Butter Khichadi (actually by which we judge the quality of taste and quantity of food) It was descent enough to full your tummy. As suggested by Zomato, price for two goes around 500/-. Since 500 and 1000 notes are discontinued, we opted for card payment. Waited for few mins than joined the queue at cash counter. One thing should be noted here, If you go after 8PM on weekends, you will find long queue in waiting outside here.
Thinking of a decent place to dine with family and friends, then go for alav.
It surely is crowded, you might have to wait or book in advance.

An easy 4 out of 5 . The place is always buzzin with people its likely you have to wait a bit before given a seat . The average prep time here for the meal is around 22 minutes but its all worth it . The prices here are good enough and quantity is appropriate too . A nice place for dinner with family and friends . The ambience is nicely done plus the staff is welcoming . There are not many good choices and places for a vegetarian. But I would say Alav can be added to your list if you want some good vegetarian food.
Only problem with this restaurant is that they do not accept CARDS.

Delicious taste of food items like paneer makkhanwala, malai kofta.Soup served too was very tasty by young energetic smiling staff. They served a good food overall. Neat and clean washroom that too outside restaurent which clearly depicts their mindset towards cleanliness and hygiene. Tandoor roti was such crispy and fresh because of it you have to eat an extra bite for sure. I would highly recommend this place for frequent visitors and travellers if they are in search of a good restaurent within city.waiting can be an issue but it's worth if delicious food is served.

This is a fine dining place in Indore. The ambiance is good as well as the food is also tasty! It is recently reopened after renovation but still the food quality and taste is like before only.
