Seoasonings is newbie in the foodie city. It was my 2nd visit to the place, and thankfully we got a table this time without much waiting. This place, just a few months old has gathered huge following, both the times I've been here, there has been a huge waiting, which has become quiet a scene outside every other restaurant, so much we people love to dine out!!
So this restaurant is situated towards nort bypass. Take the bicholi mardana road(agrawal scool) go straight towards bypass, at the end take the service lane and you have this place towards your right.
They have ample parking space as the restaurant is part of a huge marriage/party lawn.
Once you get in, the interiors are very beautifully done, the place has a high roof and the ambience is lively with shades of cream and light brown. In the centre of the hall they have made a raised wooden platform with pillars at all corners, quite a design. The furniture is super comfy, as they have huge sofas to sink in, the tables although are bit uncomfortable with no foot room, still not a problem. Overall, the place feels very comforting and well designed.
It serves a pure vegetarian cuisine, which includes mostly north-indian and a few Continental option, nothing fancy on the menu, all regular stuff.
The waiters are good in numbers, still the place lacks in terms of service and time taken for completing the orders, they need to speed up things in the kitchen area, to serve guest more efficiently, and the waitera need to be a little more attentive, I am sure they are gonna improve with time.
Food-
Here comes the jist of the whole story,
Our order included,
Hot and sour soup
Sweet corn soup
Veg kabab platter
Paneer zayka masala
Zafrani kofta
Bread basket
Both the soups were prepared well, moderately spiced, with good amount of veggies and sweet corn kernels, although I had to add the chilly sauce to bring up the heat to my taste.
Veg kabab platter- this dish took ages too come out of kitchen, and once it was on our table, all the waiting and patience went in vain. Both the panner tikkas on the platter were burnt from corners, and we asked for exchange, more waiting, but till then we tried other stuff it included. The platter was presented beautifully with accompaniments like spiced rice, pickled veggies and dices of onion. It had hara bhara kabab, dahi kabab and seekh kabab, which were all bland, extremely dry and tasteless, could be eaten only with the savory green chutney, by the time we got our paneer tikkas, this time much quickly, the difference between both was just the red and green color of the marination, else they both tasted same, highly spiced and poured with loads of oil, the platter was a complete fail.
The main course was served quickly in comparison and acted as the saviour after the painful starters.
Paneer zayka masala- big triangles of paneer in spicy red gravy, but the gravay here was not the grainy one, but rich and smooth, and had the perfect heat to accompany with the breads, this was my favorite of the meal.
Zafrani kofta- small potato filled koftas in brown gravy, the koftas were soft and complimented the lightly spiced gravy well. My parents liked it the most for some reason!!
Bread basket- it had about 8-10 varieties of different naan and rotis, all the breads were perfectly cooked and had unique flavors, even the lachcha parantha, that most of the places ruin was perfectly made to the core(thankfully).
If the starters are ignored the dinner was a satisfactory one all the varied flavors we were served.
Although quiet a glitches here and there, but those can be taken care of, just some more polishing of staff, both serving and in the kitchen will do the trick.
The place is a must visit for vegetarians and provides another option in the list.
Try to visit on the weekdays to avoid the unavoidable waiting time😛😛
I do not know if they have table reseravtion, will try before visiting next time.
