Sarafa - The street food paradise. Alive and lively at midnight. Daytime, it is jewellery or rather gold market. You won’t walk a step without a salesman asking you to come visit his shop. Make your way through the lane, battling the salesman and find the Rajhans Hotel located on third floor of a building in Bada Sarafa.
#HotelRajhans has only two items on the menu - Dal Bafla or Dal Bafla Thali, serving same in Indore from last 50 years. If you want to dine they have a clean but very basic room with an AC. The Indori casual and friendly vibe will welcome you. The ‘hakuna matata’ was in the air. But, both food and service was excellent when the ball got rolling.
What is Dal Bafla? Dal Bafla is a variation of Rajasthani Dal Baati. Baati is directly baked in the oven, whereas Bafla is first boiled and then baked. Hence the soft from inside and crispy fork outside magic. The bafla thali comes with daal, kadhi, Alu ki Sabzi, pickle, chutney and a super delicious motichur ka ladoo ❤️. I started with dipping the Bafla in kadhi and dall until it soaked well. I was immediately corrected by waiter. He made me crumble the bafla, pour dal kadhi and sabzi ok it - Make a mess and have a bite 🙂
Food was fresh, earthy, rich, with lots of ghee and cooked with years or precision and perfection. It is quiet a heavy lunch and all I wanted to do post lunch was take a nap. I did.
Priced at 200 Rs. for dine in and 220 Rs. for an amazing parcel kit. This is a steal deal for someone who hails from #Maharashtra. If at Indore, a must have lunch. I was happy to try something I never had in my entire life. #DalBafla❤️.

When in indore, this is a must visit place if you love dal-bafla....we visited place for lunch & had one of the best dal bafla of indore....bafla bati was soaked in a pure desi ghee & served along with dal-kadhi-dry aloo bhaji-two types of chutney, laddu & salad with chach....the combination of dal bafla & chutneys was so delicious, spicy chutneys were too good...yellow was ok ok in taste so is the dry-aloo bhaji, laddu was also delicious in taste....so i would like to recommend this place to everyone if you're going to indore...a must visit place, specially for dal-bafla..

Went there to try Indore's famous #daalbafla and it was damn damn damn yummmmmy. You should save this place to try some daal bafla. Probably the best in town. Costs 200/- per plate also available at UberEats. It is served with Daal, Kadhi, Allo ki Subzi, Ladoo, 2 types of Chutneys, Raw Onions and Butter milk is also offered along with it. Really it was yummilicious....😋😋😋

There's no better place than Rajhans to experience the flavours of Malwa. It would be advisable to get the food delivered, rather than walking in for a meal; Simply because it's more economical that way. The first time I came in and had daal bafla here, it was such a pleasant surprise to witness such great service, hospitality, quality of food. They have preserved some really old recipes and the flavours are just amazingly mouthwatering, no matter how many times you've had their meal.
A word of caution: Order one meal for 2 people. For five people, order 2 meals and extra daal. And avoid this meal if you have any important meetings coming up. You have this meal and you're done for the day. You'll only be productive the next day. Such is the power of daal bafla...

Very healthy dal was prepared with very basic masale but perfectly cooked kadhi was thick and consistent bafla was hot with pure ghee on it ,and special laddu with dry fruit and the buttermilk was sudhning

Yesterday when I visited Sarafa for some work, I saw Hotel Rajhasns board and as I had heard so much by mouth publicity of this place, I opted to give a visit.
When I entered the restaurant, it was very small place with hardly few dining tables but everything was clean.
I ordered 2 parcels for 4 members in family.
When I opened the parcel at home all of us were surprised to see the items and quantity.. We 4 people also were not sufficient to finish two parcels.. Parcel was well packed such that food was hot even after 1 hour.
They had 2.5 bafla, daal, kadi, pulav, laddu, alu sabji, chatni, salad and chaach. All of these items were mind blowing. We kept licking fingers throughout the course of meal. Must try food. Highly recommended..

Recently visited Hotel Rajhans, i wont lie it has been the most awaited place to visit, Hotel Rajhans is the most famous places where you can have dal bafle, Unlike most restaurant, they serve dal bafle every day, where as you can get dal bafle only on sundays or weekends.
The place is in Bada sarafa just a little ahead of sawariya chat corner, Not much hard to find, The ambiance is just similar to a bhojanalaya where you have tables placed in one line with large containers of food on them, and they had a small room in the corner where there are four normal tables placed for people to sit, initially i thought sitting in a small packed room might be suffocating but it turned out to be quiet comfortable.
Now talking about the food, the dal bafla thali had Dal, kadi, Dry alu ki sabji, red chatni, green chatni, bafle, rice, laddu and Masala chach (butter milk), everything that was served was hot and fresh, everything was really really delicious specially the chatni's which was really spicy and tasty, overall i loved the taste, what ever you like you can have it as many times as you want.
No doubt why the place is famous, though i didn't see them serving papad in the thali, where as dal bafla thali also includes papad, but overall food tasted so good that i didn't missed papad in my entire meal.
All the time i was there i observed them making parcels, i guess people take away parcels instead of dining in, which i may be doing too soon.
Overall hospitality was good, service was quick and up-to the mark, place is pocket friendly and would recommend to go with friends and have dine-in.

Rajhans has always been in the mind when you want dal bafla... it is one of the oldest restaurents in town... food is amazing and economical... quantity and quality is A+, 1 plate in parcel can easily feed 2 hungry people. 4 stars because of parking problems and no elevator to go upstairs... everything else is perfect, recommended.
