I would say that it's not comparable to any of the sweet shop because it comes in premium quality.
We have tried baklawa which is not available at normal sweet shop and it was really good in taste in terms of quality and the prices are relatively high to others.

This is the one of the best sweet shop in the town . Prices are not that cheap but as quality always comes at premium so it can be afforded. If you like sweets with nuts and dry fruits then this is the place. Badaam halwa is divine or I should say everything there is just divine.

TLC is a treat for ardent food lovers both who like to try out different cusines and for those who like to get into the shoes of Chef. I am a part of both categories. One of the category of dishes I want to try my hands over includes Filo(phyllo) and Puff Pastry sheets. I am just facinated by these works of art. It is very difficult to prepare them, a monumental task and so it is better to get pre-prepared sheets which sadly I do not know where to get from, thus my fascination remains.

Filo pastry is used in Middle eastern cusines in abundance to make desserts and thus while watching TLC I witnessed making of a signature middle eastern dessert Baklava/Baklawa. Several layers of Filo pastry sheets and between them different kinds of dry fruits which when baked are bathed in syrup made of Honey and Rose water. Oh it was a heavenly sight, so when I heard of J Oberoi Sweets' ads on radio and heard that they sell Baklawas I rushed to the place the very next day.

J Oberoi is mostly a catering venture offering gourmet food from around the world. In sweets they offer just those made with dry fruits, a no mawa policy. Now use of dry fruits is the reason for higher prices.

I tasted Baklawa Katori, Loch and Badam Tart. Baklawa katori is crisp and with balanced sweetness; a bite size heaven. Tart was also nice but Loch was average.

Each piece weighs around 13 to 20 grams and are packed in beautiful boxes which area work of art themselves which are then sealed with heat sealing machine.

The sweets are quite costly for the reasons mentioned above but they can become an amazing gourmet gift. There are separate gift boxes which are really beautiful and when sweets are placed in them they play a peekaboo.

This place can be tried once for a different cusine experience.
