We had visited Jaisalmer 30 years and had delicious memorable food served by one Sharma couple...we visited again yesterday and decided to search them out. Our Fort guide Devising informed us that their son had stated Maharaja Restaurant. We went there almost like a pilgrimage and we were not disappointed. Wonderful sabjis, dal, chawal...lip smacking...must visit for home cooked meal

We have stayed in gurgaon for 5 years and Jaisalmer was on the list to visit but never materialized. From Chennai we came to Jaisalmer, and wanted to have an authentic Rajasthani experience. I asked the local guide at the Jaisalmer fort to suggest a place which is not too fancy which focuses on quality of food and not the prices, and he has immediately suggested this restaurant which is close to Hanuman temple When we first arrived at the restaurant we were happy to see that it was not a fancy restaurant so our expectations rose that the quality of food would be awesome We asked for a menu card and we were told that we will get all items in one thali and there is no menu card The thaili was served within 5 minutes with hot curries and ghee smeared rotis Aloo mutter, dal( yummiest I had in my life) , panneer dish, gatte ki subji( mind blowing quality), churma which was optimally sweet right amount of ghee , savoured it well. There was a pickle made of green chilli, out of the world experience, optimally hot( spicy) Butter milk and basmathi rice were the other items , of course there was some other curries but I have mentioned the ones that I really liked the food was served with a lot of love by the Maharaj who always kept an eye on what we needed and was always there before we asked , which is great customer experience I am hyderabadi working in Chennai visiting Jaisalmer and I can tell that the Thali is economically priced a For unlimited food. We were charged RS 300 for two thalis including mineral water I realised that not having to choose from an elaborate menu and eat what was served which anticipated all that we need was a delight factor culture of a place is known by the food that is served and you will truly experience the Rajasthani culture if you visit this place I recommend this place for all those who don't give a premium to the outward experience but would like to have soulful delectable sumptuous vegetarian meal served with a lot of love (and of course Desi ghee). A big round of thalis for the maHaraja Thali # fan of soulful food

If you seriously want to taste traditional dal bati than this is the place where you can enjoy most delicious Dal bati Churma.... Unlimited 😍...and owner is so nice they describe the speciality of the food, if you love sweet than here you get best churma.... seriously we have eaten 2 bati, Dal and 1 plate of churma...and we didn't feel hungry whole day..and that taste I'll never forget.. thank you so much..I will come again when I'm in Rajasthan ❤️
