All the dishes are made in same gravy with milk and dry masalas only They use only pure ghee and taste is amazing. You will get authentic rajasthani dishes here. Location is right in the market area so place is not that great
It's an old and authentic place. Was recommended by locals. They serve different varieties of dishes like gulab jamun ki sabji, govind gatta, kaju panneer with kismiss etc.. Rotis, lacha Paratha everything was made by only pure ghee. Famous dessert here is Malai roti which was too good. Lahsoon ki chutney was extra-ordinary. Best recommended in Jodhpur.
Soft ghee dripping rotis💯...liked the taste of malai kofta.lahsun ki chatney was mouthwatering ✨🥹... although quantity is less. They don't have any traditional jodhpur/Rajasthani item ... mostly desserts and paneer/kofta,etc
Easily the best food joint in whole Jodhpur. We won't ever forget the food we had here. The person serving us helped to select what to eat. Must have : Malai Roti, Gulab Jamun ki sabzi.
After hearing so much about this place we decided to go for dinner. We ordered gatte ki sabzi and gulab jamun ki sabzi with paratha. Basically the gravy base seemed to be similar and it was very heavy on the palette because of ghee used in all preparations. It is chaotic as there was a good 30 minutes plus wait time we also looked out for the table ourselves. The staff tried their best for crowd control though.
Very tasty food, good atmosphere, a place worth visiting with family.
Vijay restaurent is located in rawton ka bass tripoliya road to market road
Its rajasthani restaurant
They serve many dishes, and also rajasthani dishes
One is different sweet known as "malai roti" is famous sweet according to some people
According to my review for" malai roti" 2/5 rating
It's good but not than" ras malai " campare to ras malai
Taste are same like ras malai and less sweet to ras malai
Owner are good person but service man (waiter) have unprofessional behaviour
It's located in some busier and congested area
Food is too good in taste but too less in quantity.
Tried veg pulao, was too good but finished in 4 spoons 😂.
Prem pyala is a waste of money.
Malai roti is a must try.
We found this place on the web. Very traditional and visited by local people.
We went for lunch on a Saturday.
Very welcoming staff but be patient with the older staff regarding english.
Don't expect anything fancy but food was very very good. Done with care and upon request.
Price was extremely affordable.
Vijay Restaurant offers a unique culinary experience distinct from metropolitan cities. The space feels a bit cramped, and there might be a wait before the waiters serve you. Ghee lovers will appreciate the food here; however, if you're not fond of it, this might not be your best pick. Overall, it's worth a try at least once.
Absolutely loved the food. We tried the gulab jamun curry and haldi. They all tasted fantastic. The place is located on the first floor. The service was quick and the waiters were polite and helpful.
Delicious😋
Kabuli, Paneer Butter Masala and Malai roti is to die for..
What's a wholesome meal it is. quality of the food is just amazing
Was recommended by a local, and it was a good recommendation indeed. It is a tiny no nonsense place, with a rather limited menu. Each dish served in simple steel containers has unique taste. The "Gatte ki Sabzi" had a different taste from the similar looking "Gulab Jamun" subzi (yes, they have Gulab Jamun Sabhi).
Finished with Rabdi which should not be missed. Pls visit worth the investment.
Menu is unique here.. Like Malai ki Roti.. Gulabjamun ki Sabji etc..
Pros: Authentic Food with good taste
Cons : lots of Ghee in Sabji.
If you are a Ghee fan and like to taste authentic food.. Then it is a must visit
You can’t take your car here, you have to walk a bit, auto rickshaw can take you there.
This is a 1975 place that loves desi ghee.
Lachha paratha was very good full of ghee.
Malai ki roti was one item of a kind and very tasty.
They have an item called kabuli that is similar to biriyani and i must tell you its the best, it was very tasty too.
Gulab jamun ki sabji and gatta madala was not tasty at all,
Dal was just fine.
But over all we had a unique experience.
You can also eat there lacha paratha just with lehsun ki chutney and then have malai ki roti which is a desert.
Will visit again
Loved it.
Very old restaurant in old city.. must visit this place. You will never regret
Pls carry cash for payment since the restaurant has clear sign of "Only Cash". Malai Roti was good. Gulab Jamun ki Sabji is overhyped - it has way too much oil.
