we tried the biriyani and the irachi chore both embodied with flavours .The staffs where pleasing and they are friendly.
Food is great but bit on the pricey side. You need to have a thick pocket. Ambience is also next level. Service was okayish

Finally dropped by 1947 Indian Restaurant a couple of days ago, after having eyed this restaurant for months. They've put in quite a lot of thought and effort into developing the interiors (and exterior) of this restaurant, which surely instills a sense of Pride and Patriotism in the hearts of every customer walking through their doors. It is definitely a space that one would love to revisit.
The attention to detail is quite remarkable. The seats, the tabletops showcasing old timey appliances, bits and bobs are interesting to see. The plates, goblets and cutlery are a fine touch as are the waiters seen dressed in traditional garb.
Getting to the food, we ordered The 1947 Special Soup and Chicken Lasooni Tikka as a Starter. For the Mains, we opted for Butter Chicken, Butter Naan, Kerala Porotta & Hyderabadi Chicken Biriyani, and ended the meal with Lime Juice & Tender Coconut Pudding for Dessert.
The Soup was creamy and tasted pretty good. The Lasooni Tikka was delicious with soft succulent pieces though the garlic flavour could've been a bit more prominent. The Butter Chicken though, disappointed a bit as the chicken pieces were mostly bony and the gravy too, tasted rather unusual. I would probably give this dish a pass next time. The breads, both Butter Naan and Porotta were really good. As for the Biriyani, it was decent, not too spicy and of a generous portion, served with a nice side of Raitha and Pickles. And last but not least, the Tender Coconut Pudding served as a delicious end to the meal!
The food, ambience and service at 1947 Indian Restaurant was quite good and the prices don't burn a hole in your pocket either. We happened to be there for Dinner on a weekday yet the place was brimming with customers and service was pretty quick as well. Would definitely recommend dropping by!
First thing you would love about them is the ambience. Loved the utensils as well. The food is amazing and the quantity is good too. I haven't given 5 stars, because they are little overpriced for certain items. Amazing service too. Kudos to the whole team.
It was my friend who suggested this newly opened restaurant for us. I was shocked seeing the restaurant in first place. There was a huge parking space which most of the restaurants doesn’t provide nowadays. The ambience of the restaurant is really appealing. We ordered hot and spice chicken soup, kuttanadan chicken fry as starters, kottuporotta and finally naan and beef curry. Everything was delicious. Waiting time is there but doesn’t make u too bored. The spoons and forks are to be mentioned. I love to take my family again to 1947🤗
The best thing about the restaurant is ambience. You feel vintage vibe after going inside. It was just casual team dinning.

It’s slow.The reason might be, they had more crowded than usual or may be they just take time for everything.
Food-
Mutton nadan soup is good and other soups are tasteless.I suggest not to have mutton briyani just because you have to chew after leaving the restaurant also. Rest all other dishes are too good and crispy.
My only suggestion to restaurant is to provide little weightless spoon. It’s too difficult to carry and eat. Also table is made of glass , it might break and we have pay for that.
Overall it’s a good experience, best place for starters.
One of the finest dining in Kakkanad. What I liked the most about this is the ambience... The food was also good.. Erachi chooru is a great choice for the non veggies.. Good parking facility available... Great place to dine out with family... Do try their coconut pudding...
The ambience is best. Patriotic theme is every where from the very first step.
They have a banquet hall and larger tables to serve larger teams, not so common in the area and similar restaurants.

Food, I tried Porotta with Mutton Roast. Porotta is fine. But the roast wasn’t that made with Mutton in it. Felt like it was a common base for every other roasts.

We told the waiter we want soup to be hot. While Hot & Sour Chicken was Hot. Nadan Mutton Soup was just warm.
We again asked them to heat it.
Also waitress are pathetic in clearing the tables. There were still pieces of Chicken 65 left in the served plate.
She was about to take it back.We have to literally stop her.
Except the sloppy service. Pretty Satisifed.
Went again here many times took my friends as well. All are pretty satisfied with the food except that everybody has the opinion that some items are not served hot.
It's probably the best restaurant I have been to in kakkanad and surroundings ..Great ambience with yummy food. Liked the theam of patriotism as well .A little delay during busy time ..but it's worth to wait for a tasty food

Hariyali kebab is a really good started for non-vegetarians. The chicken was nice and tender.
For mains we ordered puttu & beef, hyderabadi biryani, butter naan, kadai paneer. Kadai paneer is a nice choice. It was served beautifully.
Loved every bit of my experience at 1947. The decor, ambience and even the cutlery used gives a feeling of dining at a vintage place. Prompt and courteous service. All the tables were occupied when we visited and had to wait around 10 minutes.The food was also good and reasonably priced. Hariyali kebab was too good.
A good place to have a nice dinner with friends and family. This restaurant has a variety of Veg options along with a good list of Non Vegetarian dishes. Service is fast for the crowd seen on weekends. Ambience is vintage however loud on the weekends. One can end their meal with Manga Tenga Sherbet!

The flavours were authentic, and the presentation was top-notch. One small point to note is that the centralised AC system doesn't distribute evenly. At some seats, it tended to be a bit warm!

I recently visited 1947 Restaurant in Kakkanad, and I must say, the food quality is on the average side. However, the ambience is top-notch. If you're in Kakkanad, a one-time visit is a must. The place exudes a freedom struggle vibe with everything written in a retro-historic fashion. The ancient details beautifully displayed on the tables and throughout the restaurant, along with prehistoric weapons, create an awesome atmosphere. Despite the food being just average, the overall experience is quite unique, making it worth a visit.

Wonderful experience at the restaurant. More than enough parking. We arrived by 12 noon so almost all tables were empty. But by 12:30 most of the seats were. The ambience was also very good and food was tasty and also had more quantity than expected. It was also economical. We had dragon chicken and malai chicken tikka as starters. Dragon chicken was the best and malai chicken tikka also had more quantity and pretty decent. We also tried 1947 special fried rice it was also good. Though it felt blatant at first but it was good with sauce. Erachi chor was also very tasty and had enough quantity. We also tried chatti chor with fish but yeah it was pretty decent.
Must try I would say is erachi chor and dragon chicken.
Very good atmosphere. Food was exceptional. Only complain, as a mutton lover, I would have loved more tender meat. However overall a good value for money and time

Had an goodl experience at the Indian restaurant with Chinese cuisine and retro decor. Delicious food, i tried Indian served by courteous and professional staff. The retro decor adds a charming touch. Highly recommended!
Everything is much more than satisfaction
The food, the service, decor, arrangements. Staff were very welcoming. Except the fried rice which was above average, every food we ordered were heaven. Enjoyed the restaurant.

It was a really well designed place, good ambience, Service was also good, the waiter was polite and friendly, the service was prompt, The food was also good, ordered the biryani, there were one too many peices in it, the ratio of pieces to masala to rice was off, but aside from that a really good place. A different style of restaurant, would recommend!
Update : the food is still or even better than last time, really good, fresh, hot and scrumptious, service is prompt, staff is friendly too! And plenty of parking available.

The kitchen serves North Indian, South Indian and Chinese cuisines at comparable rates. There is an executive bar lounge inside the same campus.
There is ample space for car parking and staff are courteous.
The food was really good.Both the Irachi choru & chatti choru was delicious. The waiting time was too long. This place is crowded on the weekends.
