One thing we liked most about this place is we could get lunch which was almost without garlic. Only Rasam had garlic. All curries and sambar were without garlic which was what we were looking for. Thank you! Food was certainly very tasty.
But we were disappointed that they didn't have curd and offered watery buttermilk instead.
Compared to the new generation restaurants nearby, this lacks in ambience.
But to anyone looking for garlic free food, we would readily recommend Rama's Cafe.
One of the oldest Hotel in Kanchipuram. I had Kovil Idli here. It is ultimate. And other food quality also good. Walkable distance from Bustand, Kamatchi Amman temple.
A chip off the old block...Rama's cafe is worth a visit..the place is dimly lit and not sparkling clean but the food is tasty and pocket friendly..surely worth trying
We tried to go there several times but this time we made it and car parking also nearby. One of the oldest and traditional restaurant which is maintaining the old style. We liked the Poori but the coffee is ordinary.
Tasty food, courteous service and nice staff. Reasonably priced. They seems to be traditional and generation old.
Bit older restaurant. It is more south indian side hotel. Place wise it is near bus stand which is bigger advantage but food range wise it has very normal offering within south indian. No chat items as well.
Good thing is, place is bigger & it is little less interms of crowd (and there is nothing to blame in the items i ate) which makes it ideal for families as well(considering this covid situation)

Still old look hotel. Courtesy of the people working there is good. Food quality is not bad. We had meals. OK for us. Suggest them to renovate interiors.
Good restaurant. You can get specialties like Semia Idly, Kodumai dosai.... Very old restaurant. Still the right choice to go. They do not add taste enhancing chemicals. The service is good. Price is very reasonable. One will feel they are taking food at home. NO elaborate decorations for food. The hotel gives functionally correct food. Enjoy food here whenever coming over to Kanchipuram.
Coffee is really good and break fast was good as well. They still maintain the old architecture which is a plus and minus as well. Renovation is must.
