I went there with my family and the ambiance was cool. The look of the restaurant was like a jail and it was quite a new concept. Price of the food was high according to the quantity. All in all, it was great.
Great ambience disk available .perfect for teen agers good food extra space & the best is the jail theme in the ambience . Photographer are there to capture your moment there.
Ambience was nice and comfy. Theme was different from others. Manchow soup was the best. Briyani was different what we eat in other places. Briyanis aroma was not accomplishing the taste.

Barracks is a nice pure veg restaurant highly rated .. opened till 5 in the mrng n you get all night delivery one good thing other you have a disc so u get a party place to enjoy... The food is good I had baked pasta here no doubt good at taste !! But few items or almost all r overpriced !! At these prices one can have at some other good place !!
Barracks as everyone knows is a lounge ....is good for outing ...thanks to the sound proof walls due to which we can peacefully sit and chill in the jail side restro. Food there was good while the service was satisfactory.

Barracks, the new happening place in the heart of Swaroop Nagar is a booming lounge cum restaurant based on a jail theme.
The tables are placed inside jail barracks and there is a jailer roaming around, giving a feel as if you are actually sitting in a jail & eating.
I tried the dal makhani, paneer butter masala, Missi roti & butter Naan there.
The gravies were good, the taste can be improved a bit.
I tried a bit of rice too, which was good.
The breads were made of fresh dough and the food felt of good quality.
The prices are a bit on the higher side, but that is compensated by the ambience.
The disc & lounge are connected to the dining area, but the dining area is silent, thanks to the sound proof walls.

Value for money , I have ordered a black coffee, hot coffee, masala Papad, soya chap starter. The taste was awesome and they offered us a welcome drink. Highly recommended to everyone. A fully fledged sober and calm family place with a seperate disc and partying area. Now come to food.
Taste: We ordered veg manchurian and a tandoori platter for getting the taste of thr nost of the tandoor items.
#Veg manchurian is really taste good though its dry nd with moderate spices its really taste so good some what on the upper level thn the one served in #Chopstick.
#Veg-Platter its not so good when compared with its price.
Dahi kabab: not so mushy and oily nd with a nice texture bt the taste is more cheesy not a lil'bit soury as dahi kabab should tastes.
#Paneer tikka: they tastes avg.
#Tandoori Mushroom: its the best item they serves in the platter.but afsoos we got only 4 pieces.😉
Other thn these its kabab( tastes fine), tandoori aaloo(a lil'bit dry bt on an avg good).

This is jail themed restaurant serving great food with great music to give you a soothing experience.The ambience feels like you are having food in a prison, stewards were dressed in prisioners costumes and handcuffs are also there so you can have some great pics.
Talking about food we ordered mexican cheese paratha , virgin mojito, paneer tikka, shahi paneer , malai kofta and alfredo pasta everything was amazing in taste and presentation of food was also very nice.overall we had an amazing experience.

First Jail themed restaurant in kanpur. Only restaurant in Kanpur which is open till 5am. Food is very tasty though it is slightly costly.
Hands down !! One of the best lounges available in kanpur . I even think its better than Shor . The jail themed restaurant is also great and the dance floor is huge!!

Ambience is great, the lighting, music & privacy is great. Food is also good both quantity & quality wise. One item that is spicy noodles tasted very average. Veg pizza & honey chilli potato is something u can definitely try. When I went there they didn't have any props that we usually see in their pictures like hand-cuffs. Service is good.

Todays back I visited very well known restaurant known as Barracks.
It is a jail theme restaurant where you can actually feel the jail vibes and staffs are also dressed according to the theme of the restaurant.
Personally I loved this place a lot and food served here is simply awesome and mouthwatering.
They have 2 compartment one for fine dine and the other one for lounge. I personally prefer fine dine area.
I've order paneer tikka,golgappa shots maxican paratha and many more everything was delicious and mouth-watering
But have to say their pizza paratha were like sone pe suhaga.
So this is my review about this restaurant. You too try food from bloggers choice menu recently launched and give a try.

Barracks is one hell of a place, obviously in a positive sense. The jail theme is fun and super cool in pictures. The food is what brings me back here all the time. The stuffed parathas with cheese, Mexican and Italian stuffing is a must try. I also enjoyed their Cheese Cigar Rolls. They got a range of beverages too. Head over heels in love with this place. I love the way this lounge provides the irony of having a scrumptious delight behind the bars. Ambience is nice, service is pretty welcoming and food is absolutely mouth grubbing. Presentation has set fusion dishes to next level. They also offer some amazing mocktails and beverages. This jail theme based restaurant is a must visit place.
My recent endeavour to one of the finest Lounges of kanpur "Barracks" was a nostalgic one it reminded me of the song "Posham pa bhai Posham pa 100 rupay ki ghari churaye"
PS when the jail is as royal like that of barracks with bars and jail based interior and wall decor who doesn't wants to get locked and put behind the bars.
With a soothing and calm ambience barracks even excellls in the Indian cuisine whether it may be variety of indian parathas or continental parathas as innovative as Turkish Cheese paratha or it may be the golgappa station with 4 different flavours.
When in barracks have a mocktail have a good day.

The ambience and service was good.
The quantity and quality of food was worth it. Overall loved every bit of the experience. The disc, the lounge and the food. Do check out their mocktails, i personally loved Quasimodo and april lady! They have a variety of mocktails as well.

Kanpur's first Jail themed restaurant - Barracks does a complete justice to its name. The ambience is at par and the service staff is also dressed according to the theme. The food is good and the service is quick. The Mac and Cheese Paratha and their Turkish Paratha are something that you wouldn't want to miss. The presentation is impeccable and they serve some amazing mocktails. Surely going back for more.

We had been there recently and this is one of the best restaurants in kanpur little different ambience with the theme of jail. The ambience and staff completely gives you a feeling of jail. It’s is quite spacious with beautiful interior. We really loved the place for its interior and food as well. We ordered so much, spaghetti, baked spinach, lasagna,gol gappe shots everything was super tempting and mouth watering. From honey chilli potato to mock tails and pearl shots all is 10 out 10. We would really rate this place upto 5 star. Staff is so kind and humble plus good at services.

The ambience is good. A better place for party. Specially the food is quite good as compared to other lounges. But i would like to add one the music is too loud or you can say it's extremely loud and after coming out form there you will feel a bit heavy in your ears but after all it's nice place to spend time with your loved ones.
This place is nice. Food is nice, not too great. I went on a Sunday, and the DJ was so loud, we couldn't even talk and was frustrating. It might not be so if you want to dance and stuff. Maybe that doesn't happen on other weekdays. Also, one thing that is not mentioned- couples have a free entry and if you're alone, the entry charge is 1,000/- per person (which is compensated with the food).

Kanpur's first Jail theme restaurant and the ambience totally justifies the theme. The staff is also dressed accordingly. The food was good and the presentation was impeccable. The Turkish Paratha and Mac and Cheese Paratha were super good. They serve an amazing range of menus. A good place to hangout. They even have a disco theque which is a major attraction for the youth of the city. Definitely going back for more.
Great ambience. Food was a bit over priced but the atmosphere compensated for that. Both the lounge and discos are great place to hang out.
