Very nice and different south Indian food.
I had Gujarati and Rajasthani thali both. But heads off to their Rajasthani thali. In thali you can have unlimited food but sharing is not allowed which is good ๐.
The ambiance is excellent and the quality of food is upto the mark.
It's located at Rave3 Mall at Tilak Nagar. Ambiance wise it's very beautiful. I ordered Andhra Thali and Rajasthai Thali. Its first time I tried Andhra Thali it was good but personally I liked Rajasthai Thali more than Andhra Thali. Andhra Thali have perfect taste but Rajasthai Thali was little bit spicy.

It is the best place for all your south indian cravings.The service is fantastic and they greet you with rasam and papad.The cheese spring dosa is a must try.The masala dosa,rava masala dosa and the biryani are all good.

Though waiter/ cook did not serve tamarind rice in the first place and instead they served plain rice. Overall it was a nice experience.
A great place to have some exhautic indian thalis(Andhra thali,Rajasthani thali,Gujarati thali)having a great blend of tatse and I personally liked Andhra and Rajasthani thali.Onion dosa is a must try.ambience was decent and staff was dressed accordingly and we're polite.

The best South Indian outlet in the locality. They serve complimentary rasam and rice papad which is a total delight. Their Chicken Chettinad Dosa is mouth watering. The staff is friendly and the service is fast. Definitely going back for more.

If you love Malabari food then this is the go- place for you in Kanpur.. I have been here on more than a couple of occasions and was not disappointed ever.. the appams and the malabar parathas were bette than any other place in Kanpur. Not sure many serve them here
The chicken and the muttion curry that we had ordered too had all the necessary ingredients in them and looked as if they were cooked by some south indian chef only and tasted authentic which is the key in such a place

Pleasant ambience and a cup of hot spicy rasam is what welcomes you into this restaurant. An elaborate menu that could easily put most South Indian restaurants to shame ... The food is amazing and the specially their fish and prawn preparations .

When South Indian comes to my find the only place I can think of is Rasam . Located in Rave 3 Mall this place serves excellent food . Be it Dosa , Utpam , idli everything they serves is fresh and tasty .
If you are south indian foodie then this place is good for you, because i have ate Idli sambhar and dosa sambhar at this restaurant. Taste was good... so you will go and enjoy. i have enjoyed but not too much because when i was went this place no one is there and i have saw only staff... Lolz... But food was good and there is Strawberry Mocktail was awesome. i loved it...
One word "SUPERB" !!! Just in Love with this place, the ambience, the interiors, the food, everything... The food is authentic South India with a variety of options... The "rasam" shots are just amazing and leave you wanting for more.... The only place in Kanpur to have yummy, hygienic South Indian food after home. Nice ambience with fine gentry. Friendly staff and discounts to students of government colleges (mainly IITians). A must go place!

Lovely place. Elegant interiors. Tastefully decorated with south Indian theme. Comfortable seating. Very courteous staff. It serves one of the best South Indian food that one can find in Kanpur.
One strange thing though. The management seems to be in awe with IIT, almost obsessed! They ask you if you are from IIT. If one shows an IIT id card, they offer 10% discount. If someone else asks why, waiter tells that its the management policy! :)

Opens at 12:00 in the afternoon till 3pm. In the evening it opens from 7pm to 11:30pm.

Perfect for a family outing. Variety of food is amazing. Thalis are really awesome and one of their kind. Quantity in thalis is not too much that one person can't finish. It is sufficient. And in case you want something more, they will serve you that again. Basically this is very good keeping in mind food doesn't get wasted.
They have a lot of dosa variety and taste is good. Chutneys were tasty too.

Only con is they don't accept Paytm or any other wallets...it is helpful for customers because everyone gets some offer or the other so please get Paytm.
Rasam has become a different place. It has changed for better. Gone are those succulent Madras and Chettinad Chicken. The restaurant has turned completely vegetarian. Yes, you still get those paper thin Dosas and moist Idalis. The new menu is thali centric.Thalis from Rajasthan, Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh. While Rajasthani thali is rich, Gujarati thali is on sweeter side and Andhra on spicier side.

They serve a wide variety of dosas, uttapam, coffee and their signature is unlimited thali. Their are 2 types of thali of โน400 each and u can eat all u want! (Only for one person)

My favorite place for south Indian food in the city. Their welcome drink - Rasam is to die for.
Rice papad that go along are yum too.
Ambience is in total ally with the theme. The staff is friendly and efficient .
MY all time favorite is the chicken chettinadu dosa.
We ordered 5 different things and we have different views for all of them. So first of all they had a very tasty welcome drink and we couldn't finish it all! It was spicy...
Then they gave us a nice platter with 3 types of chutney, a bowl of oil and a bowl of gun powder! You have to put oil and then sprinkle the gun powder on your dosa for extra taste!
Coming to our dishes, first served was the MASALA DOSA, which was very average.
Then came the MEDU VADA, it looked very thin onion rings! Tasted just fine and there were 6 pieces.
The next was MYSORE MASALA DOSA which wasn't very crispy but was tasty has a very garlic filled taste!
Next was RAVA MASALA DOSA, which was crispy but was very thick and oily!
And the last came our MASALA UTTAPAM, it was the best of the lot! Just perfect!
Im a little disappointed with the service but the ambience is nice!
The line that is there outside Ram Ashray even in wee hours is testimonial itself for the quality of food they serve and the service is pretty fast.Worth standing in queue for 15 minutes! Tried the Pudi Idli, Sada Dosa, Masala Dosa, Idli Wada and Filter Coffee which were all fantastic! Just not a fan of the Rasam like sambar since used to the sweet version of sambar.
I think this probably is the "Best South-Indian" Food In Kanpur. Every bite has a lovely taste, the food is constant. Good to go with Families or for Kitty Parties.

3)Onion rava masala dosa
4) Thali's are Good but Each thali has a unique cultural taste which is upto you to choose.
1 dish out of menu that you could ask and they will server is Masala Paneer Dosa.
Good place for South Indian food, fine dinning restaurant is very classy. They do lot of experiments with their recipes. The staff is good and there is lot of parking space. Overall a good experience with going again.
