Perfect place for south indian lovers....they have their signature dosa..which is too long...yes too tasty.. well this place is very nice..service is also fast
Kerela cafe is the oldest nd yumiest place . its a proper south indian restaurant. i remember v used to go there alot as kids wth family. its recently renovated. i luv their dosas nd dahi vada alot. must try cheap nd yum food for all.

It used to one of the very few restaurants for IIT Students. Nowadays their food quality is not at all good.
If you are visiting this place do try masala dosa here. Avoid any drinks, overpriced and not up to the mark.

The place is good, food is good. Famous for its Dahi Vada and Dosa's. There is no main course, viz. Roti, rice, gravy dishes. You will definitely like the place.

Kerela cafe is one of the really old places in kanpur that have been catering to food lovers since a long time.
The cafe boasts of a a long list of items on menu some of which may not be available like chocolate soda.
We had butter paneer dosa and butter masala dosa since i prefer the taste of butter over oil they tend to use .
Paneer dosa was good but instead of usual paneer filling they use diced paneer pieces.
Masala dosa was good and tasted amazing with yummy sambhar and delicious nariyal chutney.
Also had mix veg uttapam after trying to find the difference between special mix veg uttapam and mix veg uttapam which most waiters didnt seem to know. They called some one from kitchen who said it just had paneer along with everything else so went for mix veg uttapam..
Uttapam had a particularly strong flavor of oil not in a good way that makes me firm in my decision of opting for butter dosa instead of one made in oil and taste was just ok.
ambience is average nothing really special other than god's brightly colored paintings on walls to keep u distracted.
In all taste was good with decent pricing and i would recommend to stick with butter preparations instead of the regular dishes

The place is well dining place for families and they have a bright ambiance and the restaurant provides and ok ok food , u can't expect food quality to be the best as they have a crowd so I think demand has overcome the taste ....
They only just need improvement in their food quality .

With it's name it associates with south region of India popular in the city for its delicious dishes that touches southern flavor of India . Everytime I pass from there I couldn't stop myself from visiting there . Kerla Cafe does deliver great service for food and you haven't been there then for sure you need to go there .

An authentic place for south Indian food.Have been the customer for almost last 10 years & never had a issue with food quality & service.One can visit this place with friends or family & can enjoy south Indian delicacy.Although there is availability of other type of options other than south indian food also.
A famous place of IIT KANPUR for south Indian food.masala dosa and idli sambhar is a must try,dahi vada were okayish.service is fast and friendly in budget.
This is quite a decent place with quality at reasonable rate. Dahi bada is the star dish of this place. It is both family friendly and a place to hang out with friends. I would recommend it.
If one needs to taste some authentic south indian cuisines at quite reasonable price i would suggest this place to them. the newly updated infrastructure and ambience of this place is also nice and sophisticated . i tried their #idli sambar and butter pepper masala #dosa. and i ended up licking my fingers by the end of my meal . yes it was that good. the giant butter pepper masala dosa is as big as the waiter had to bring that single dosa in two plates!!!!

Kanpur's world famous south Indian food joint. I am not exaggerating. Many IITians working abroad will vouch for it. I have been visiting this place for over 20 years and the consistency in qualty and taste is mind boggling. With the renovated, air-conditioned avatar, it is even better. Though all items on the menu are great, dahi-vadas and butter masala dosa along with filter coffee are all time favourits. The prices are very reasonable too.
It's still one of the best Places to eat south Indian food. I have been visiting this place from last fifteen years, the taste is the same and the best in the city. The craving for dosa ends here. The staff is friendly and simplicity of the restaurant is awesome with cleanliness. Having a ice cream parlor attached in here makes it full stacked one. The cost is starting from 150 INR for two for decent food.
Itβs probably the best place in kanpur to have South Indian food. The Masala Dosa is just perfect and delicious here. Itβs best and least expensive place.

Nice place... Last I visited the place, it was 2 years ago. Happy to see it's renovated.
It is safe to say that it's almost an authentic south Indian restaurant as they have slightly different taste in every south Indian dish they serve, just like the authentic dishes of the south. And the plus point is that it's not too expensive.
The plain dosa and the paneer masala dosa were quite big and delicious. Sambhar and chutney complimented well. The other fastfood they offer is average.
Being an IITK student, it is nice to have such a place nearby as an alternative to mess food. π

Complete south indian is different in taste so we sometimes don't like the taste..i was der n faced the same prblm as im the lover of dosa I didn't liked the taste as i like in other normal restro bt u all will love it u have South Indian taste..

Kerala Cafe is located near the main IIT Gate on the GT Road. It is a well furnished and well maintained vegetarian family restaurant. One can get good South Indian food here. North Indian food items are not available here but some Chinese food items are available.
The Butter Masala Dosa is awesome. The length of the dosa is nearly 60-70 cms and it costs just βΉ120.
If you are looking for good south indian restaurant in the Kalyanpur area, then this is the place to be.

They offer great south Indian food alongwith some North Indian dishes like pav bhaji etc . I tasted Fried Rice , Masala Dosa and Chowmein and believe me they were all yummy ππ

Location - it is located on the new GT Road and is just by the side of road ... If you go through than it's ahead of IIT Kanpur and is on the left side of the road.
Seating is quite okay but I guess according to the crowd they must improve/develop seating arrangements...

I hv tried Vada Sambhar and Pav Bhaji.Both of them are very tasty and yummy, so I highly recommend this place. Service is also very excellent and they r very gentle and humble.
This place is totally worth the price that you pay out here.. one of the longest paper plain dosas that you would come across and they are quite nice to eat as well.. the owner has also renovated the place recently and now it looks much better than what it was a few months back.. even the dahi Badhas of the place are quite famous
This super famous cafe started as a small outlet and today it stays jam packed.
You gotto wait till you get a seating place.
Anyway, the food is usually worth the wait however, I'd recommend that you visit this place in the morning uptil early evening. Once you cross 8P.M. he starts running outta stuff and usually compromises on the taste.

3 bowls of Dahi Wada
And
Cream bell Sach Much Aam as the closing deal.

During my days at IIT. I had visited this place few times. I ate idli, vada and dosa at this outlet. I loved them all. The chutney and sambar are also of good quality. The price is at the higher side but one can afford it sometimes.
A proper place to fill in ......i personally like their masala dosa a lot ..... one extra thing which they put in their stuffing is roasted peanuts which is quite unusual u won't get it anywhere inside a dosa crust ....but that extra crunch really taste well.....
Ambience is not good its like local food joint ..... but food here is amazing pocket friendly too.... worth try place .... π... enjoy!!
Now this south Indian dish corner serves really good butter Paneer masala dosa ,also used to serve great dahi vadas but now their quality is decreasing ...this really hurts as I was a fan of their vadas.
I have good memories of this place when they just started and had only very small shanty. They served just a few regular south Indian items like dosa vada idli. I remember that the potato filling in their masala dosa was quite different and tasty.

This place serves amazing food. It is not a fine dining place, its a regular restaurant and don't go here for the ambience.
They are famous for their dosa but when we went there it was not available so we have idli/vada sambhar which was also super Amazing. Their kulfi falooda is also very good. They have noodles also whovh were good.
The service was very prompt and the food is cheap.
It is a perfect place to satisfy your South Indian food cravings. Food quality is appreciable with a beautiful ambience. The restaurant offers all kind of south indian food and ice creams along with certain amazing special items on the menu.

Kerala only in name.
Most of the iconic Kerala dishes like Porotta (not paratha), puttu, idiyappam, Appam, pathiri etc are not available. They could've instead kept name as South India hotel maybe. Half the menu items are Dosa items. Uthappam served was something else.
Service and atmosphere is good. Only Kerala thing I could find was a Kathakali photo hung on the wall.
Well this is one of my favorite places to go when it comes to eating south indian food and filter coffee.
