It's a home away from home. It is a little home for everyone who visits kaza. Karan has made this place heaven by his experience from all over the world. We visit recently in may'18. I can stay there for days without doing anything literally. And the staff are awesome. I would not only recommend but will suggest this to be the only place to stay when in kaza. Simba and all the other fur babiesake it even more beautiful to be. I miss u all and will definitely come back sometime to see u guys.
Love jasmine and kundan
Loved everything about this place and was a great base for exploring the surrounding villages, mountains and peaks. We stayed at Hotel Deyzor run by Karan Bir Bedi.. Having someone like Karanbir around was informative, given his extensive knowledge of the local area, refreshing, for his outlook on life. The whole place has a really laid back vibe and the best food I sampled in Kaza specially the pahadi mutton...Karan and the rest of his staff do their best to ensure you have a comfortable stay.
The dinning n rooms r tastefully done..The rooms are large, clean, all with attached bathroom and Oh yeah they have WiFi!...Thanx Karanbir Singh bedi....had a get time with u at Deyzor...
Deyzor is a world within a world…! We got to know about this place through a friend who stayed here earlier and I can just say that as soon as you step into this place you feel like you have entered another place altogether. It's nothing like you would see in Spiti - Truly one of its kind...!
The quality of food served is excellent and would take you by surprise. Having stuck to dal rice on our whole trip in Himachal, we were so happy to have found such amazing food! The chefs here are very hardworking and make an effort to create something new and different every day. There is a specials menu which is updated on a daily basis. Every morning, we’d wake up and look forward to having something new and different. Chicken and hummus rolls, seabuck thorn Tea/ juice, mushroom and spinach pasta, baked eggs, yak cheese and jalapeno omelette, Nutella crepes with fresh fruit, barley porridge, mutton biryani, ginger lemon honey tea, baksu cake, chicken steak, honey chilli potatoes were some of the items that we gorged on! And loved..!!!
Karanbir Singh Bedi - the magic man and the saviour of Deyzor has put his heart and soul into making the place what it is today! He always ensured that all who entered the hotel were graciously looked after. Having travelled around Spiti himself, he was the best person to give us travelling advice - Our entire Spiti Valley trip was chalked out with his suggestions. He was always eager to help tourists and travellers (even those who weren’t staying at Deyzor) with suggestions about where and how to travel, what to order at the restaurant and with any other whims that a customer would have. The staff there is also friendly and helpful and they welcomed us warmly.
The Ambience is nothing like I have ever seen before. Its like you enter a fairy tale place – with a cosy, homey feeling to it – the fairy lights on the counter, the soothing music, the inspiring quotes on the brightly coloured walls. Karan has taken special care to display the décor highlighting some of his travels and the Spiti culture. There are books for avid readers, games like Scrabble and Pictionary and testimonials from people who have stayed there. Travellers have contributed to little artefacts to the place. The rooms! They have been the best we've stayed at during our whole trip! Neat, clean, and so very well decorated. One can immediately comprehend the amount of effort that has been put into decorating each room - be it the cutely hand cut birds or the jar of dried apples and barley popcorn or the vases with the husks in them. The hotel provides WIFI and on days when there is no electricity, a bucket of hot water through the solar is given to you by the staff. The hotel has its shop adjacent to it, which promotes and sells local Spiti products – Dried apples, Sweet and Salted Barley popcorn, Barley coffee and powder, Seabuck thorn Tea and Juice, Handmade woollen socks and mufflers and many more items!
Simba and Hachi - I think we lured many a tourists into visiting this place by showing them pics of Simba - the great and adorable St Bernard and darling Hachi.. Karan's pet! Simba is soo loveable and huggable!! Hachi - is very selective of the people who pet her, but she is gorgeous!
This place felt like home to Anushre and me and we did not want to leave. Thanks Karan and Gang for an excellent stay.....!! Hope to visit here soon!
"In the middle of best of nature...I found the best of mankind - Deyzor".
This is the best place you will find in all of Spiti (and the world for me) for stay, food and people.
This place is unlike any other you will ever visit. At the first impression, you will fall in love for its look and feel and the positive vibe but slpwly you will realise its brings in alot more. This place is mostly house full but Karan - the manager and one man army will help you find a cheap accommodation if needed.
FOOD : The best food I have eaten in my month long trip was in Deyzor. Even by Delhi or Mumbai standards, the food is far superior. The chefs have been well trained from Dharamshala and Goa. Right from local cuisine - Barley porridge, seabuck thorn tea, Lingdi lazi, Kala mattar to baked Mushroom, Chicken tikkas, rolls, Baksu cake, baked eggs, Yak cheese omlette, trout fry,etc....every dish was delicious.. Thupka, noodles, lasagna, pasta, honey chilli fries, etc are some other delicacies they offer.
Apart from the regular menu, Karan also ensures there are dishes of the day. Special menu for each day which sports some kick ass limited food. Make sure you order this too along with the regulars if you are a foodie.
PS. Unlike many other places where you will be cheated for your meat, Deyzor serves what they claim. They have some organic veggies too and which is why their salads are the freshest thing you will ever eat.
STAY and AMBIENCE : Hotel wise this is the best hotel I have ever lived in and honestly speaking I am mind blown about this place. Even a 5star stay will not match up to Deyzor standards. This is simple because, this place makes you feel better than any other place you have ever lived - including your own home. Karan's mom and Karan both have done a magnificent job in decking up this place.
Hotel rooms and the cafe both have engaging decor. Testimonials across the cafe, millions of books and small quotes across the walls will make sure you have food for thought. The music - jazz or enchanting Buddha music, both will ensure you feel relaxed and distressed as soon as you enter. The vibrant colors will uplift your mood and if you want to spend some time alone, there is also a small garden in the backside.
The rooms are 100% clean and attention to detail is not missed. In fact, a small jar of dried apples, apricots, and barley popcorn is kept at your disposal for constant munching. Whether there is electricity or not, this place has ample solar system back-up for all your needs.
This place cannot be summed up in words. You have to visit to understand the small world they have created for us!!
KARAN - The hero :
Karan - He is the most simplest and yet most straightforward man I have ever met in my life. He doesn't like to beat around the bush or please your ego. However, a simple conversation of 15-20 mins with this guy is the best thing that will happen to you in your trip. I was introduced to Spiti only cos of this man. Explored the tourist points and the secluded points of Spiti, all thanks to him. This guy really knows Spiti and its hidden treasures so well. He also knows a lot about the monasteries, culture, people, etc.
Karan is not a selfish man and will not shy back from giving you an itinerary beyond his profit goals or your comfort zone. He promotes a lot of local food products and artifacts that you can buy from reception. Very straightforward guy, doing what he does cos he is passionate. You will get to meet a lot of interesting people because of this him - international travelers, Spiti heroes, Indian solo travelers, etc
Karen and I were lucky enough to spend so many beautiful days with you- Deyzor. Thank you for helping us through out and treating us like family.
Every minute spent at Deyzor felt like being connected to the soul and the universe. This is the place I feel I belong. Karan, truly Deyzor is the best of mankind and I wish you all the best in doing what you are.
I will always be just a call away if ever needed. Want you to know that you are family now!
Lots of love to you and all. Miss you guys beyond words seriously!
Beautiful place. Very warm and cozy. The owner of the place is the friendliest person and helps you with every minute detail and even guides you regarding your travel plan. The hospitality and nature of the staff is also worth appreciating. They made our stay a very memorable one so thank you very much for the same.
You must really be here #HotelDeyzor to understand how we felt... Not everything can be described in words and must be experienced at least once in a lifetime.... Hotel Deyzor surpasses all the expectations and is absolutely amazing... This place nourishes the part of our souls in a way we can't expect.... The small library (great collection of books) , artefacts, food everything is fantastic, and yes rooms as well.... The way rooms have been named, the antique locks these doors bear... A place so beautiful that you will feel like going there Everytime you get a chance... Everything on the menu is so delicious.... Was here in June hope to visit again soon.... Just try and plan a stay here...!!
Hotel Deyzor has been like a second home to me during my visit to Kaza last week.Karanbir Ji and Team Deyzor have been immensly a warm host. The moment i stepped inside the hotel, the ambiance along with the entire setup, the interior, the write uos on the walls n amazing rooms simply made me feel that I am at home.Above all the place where pets were allowed to move around freely was the best thing I found.Karanbir Ji has 5 Dogs who r like his kids and its like a place full of love and compassion all around. Not to forget, the food was amazing there as well.I have promised Karanbir Ji that I will visit Deyzor again.Lots of love and best wishes for Karanbir Ji and Team Deyzor.
The best and coziest place to stay in kaza and owner is a very friendly and helpful
There are so many things that make this place special, the first being Karan, the people you meet here, the vibe the place has, the great food and the fact that each and every detail has been done with such great personal care.
The rooms are super clean and very tastefully decorated with curated art and information about Spiti and Tibetian culture. Karan is going to make you feel like you're leaving home by the time you're out of this place.
The cooks are very good at what they do! The food is quite amazing with a lot of options, be sure to check out the specials for the day. Most of the vegetables are grown in the garden and is organic, all the desserts are made fresh. They have some great deals for a room plus food package, perfect for a good dinner after visiting places around kaza. It's also a great place to meet some amazing people working with many community projects in Spiti, you get to learn a lot from them.
Karan is there wiki for any information around the area, super helpful with everything. He's also got some amazing stories to share.
Last but not the least the furry friends you'll make at the hotel will leave a mark on you too!
The hotel is easily accessible, it is very close to the BSNL office and pretty close to the market too.
Almost forgot, checkout their organic food store. They work with a lot of locals around and you get very good quality stuff here.
Hatric in Spiti...visited Lahaul & Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh third year without fail in a row since 2014... seems I am in an eternal love with this mesmerising beauty of nature...special thanks to Mr. Karanbir Singh Bedi who always motivated my aspirations to explore Spiti closely and arranged my stay in Deyzor - the most peaceful place to stay in Kaza, an absolute example of passion and hospitality where even a minute detail from a travelers point of view is maintained....
Loved everything about this place. The way it's made, the hospitality, the scrumptious food. Everything is so personalised! Every piece of art, every book, every piece of furniture seems hand picked and shows the fervent enthusiasm of the owner. The place has it's own character. It was a wonderful and invigorating experience staying at Deyzor. A must visit place!
we found the place when we were rattled by the fact that there wasn't regular supply of electricity in Kaza and being disconnected by oh-so-lovely internet is a lot scary for 4 teenage girls. bbbbut the morning breakfast at Deyzor just got us excited abut the place... with the inspirational quotes, paintings, books and really cool set of art pieces. As architecture students we loved how the hotel had its own characteristic and blended with the scenery. we wish to visit again soon! ;)
Everything about this place is made with love . This place gives you ambience to indulge in the peace a traveller yearns for . Be it food , service and guidance , everything is taken care of with hostility and love . See inside , what Deyzor holds for you . Everything in deyzor taught me that the beauty lies within and everything you seek is within. You got to visit it to know why ! And meet Simba!
Just loved it

My words are short
This place is like a heaven for me. Good food and awesome staff
Amazing Place. Tastefully done interiors. Best restaurant in the region. Kudos to Mr. Karan for running such a wonderful place. If I ever come to Spiti valley it will be for Deyzor. Cheers 👏👏👏👍
I was on a trip to Spiti Valley on my Motorcycle with my friend and stayed here for two nights and trust me, the stay was enjoyed to the fullest. The hospitality from the hotel staffs and ofcourse the owner himself, Karan Bhaiya, The Himalayan Shepherd was top notch. I wish I had more days to spend at Kaza, in Deyzor. Karan Bhaiya mixes with the Travelers like Family and the treatment we get is exemplary. It's a must visit place for dog lovers as well, as he is in love with them. He himself has one and has named it Hachiko. ;) A friend's dog which is a Saint Bernard, visits sometimes, named Simba. We were lucky enough to have met both Hachiko and Simba. :)
While in Kaza, make sure you are staying in Deyzor. You won't repent. A freaking awesome place it is. :)
