A well maintained and cozy place where family outings can also be arranged. We had various kinds of cocktails and vegetarian platter and pahadi tikka. All food and drinks were optimum and service was decent. Cleanliness was also commendable. View was good

One of the oldest bars in the hill station and this good of style British bar that's small and has corners created in such a way that you can see the Khandala valley and especially the large fall across in the monsoons and also the new express way that's made

The drinks that they serve are that you get everywhere but what's interesting is to eat the Mirchi and paneer pakora here that's good snack with your drinks
Perfect time to sit here is between 530 to 9 in the evening
Went there when it rained like cats and dogs, and that made our experience even better. It is located in the premises of The Dukes Retreat, which is a gorgeous hotel in Khandala. We tried the Kebab platter, which was super delicious. The service is good. The view from the bar is beautiful!!
Go there for the view during monsoons..they have such breathtaking view (only during monsoons) that I always visit this place atleast once during the season..Food is kind of by the way but not bad at all.
Breakfast spread is pretty good and it is damn cheap so one can have a blast at this place..dosa, sausages and paratha were good and muffins and cake was were also delectable.
Service is good and they take good care of you. Overall Duke is a good property and a good getaway option for mumbaikars
Amazing view, excellent architecture, did not order food, just drinks, tad over priced, however because of the view it was worth it. Visited in January and encouraged to visit in rainy season, as the view would just be mesmerising.
I would say it a WOW place. If you want to enjoy real Lonavala and do not want to sit all the time in your car stuck in traffic, be in this place. A perfect place for a date and also for family visits. They have very nice ambiance that you can spend good time here. Sitting arrangements inside the bar is really nice. We sat at sofa adjacent to window from where we could see the beautiful valley. Outside also they have very nice arrangements that you would in love with this place. We had ordered Continental starts and Desi too; taste was good. Service is really good inside the bar. Price is comparatively high. Overall was a wonderful experience; we would surely visit again. :)
This is my favourite hangout especially when I am with my friends. No one bothers you and one can enjoy privacy. Food is fine. Nothing great or bad. If you need some peaceful time in a tourist packed Lonavala the Dukes is a place to visit.
You just can't miss this Hotel cum restaurant. The mind blowing view it will give you, it can't be measured in cost. Food just as lovely as the view. Services are very good. People are always ready to help you, when ever you need them. I went their for our company business meet. But it has blown my mind out when I saw the view from my room. Definitely visit with your near and dear one.
The coffe shop and the hotel in general has an excellent view. It is one the best views you will see in your life , especially in monsoons. Make sure you enjoy a cup of coffee with your loved ones or with pals at this place.
I love this place only for the view. Food is just average.
The view at this place is so mesmerising in rains that you start liking everything around you just like that. I had gone there with my family and we opted for the buffet with wine option and it was just perfect. We were so engrossed with the view and enjoying ourselves that we forgot to click pics of the food. The food was nice but my review is more about the whole experience. Try going early for the buffet (between 12:30-1) so you get the table by the window.

Food is pretty ordinary as in items are exotic however the tastes are very average. However the location and view is just serene. One of the main reasons to visit this place was due to the location.

Dukes Retreat is truly an awesome retreat from one's mundane city life.
The High Point bar has a fantastic view of the valley and is a good place to enjoy a few drinks with friends and family.Â
The interiors are done tastefully, but not too well-maintained. It has an old English feel to it, complete with a few barrels adorning the place.
This is a typical bar with a lot of beverage options on its menu. Nevertheless, they serve only finger food and nothing else. The service is quite prompt and quick.
The extra .5 is because of the gorgeous locale. This place has nothing special to offer when it comes to food options, but is a great place to hang out.
Would love to be back to this place soon!
Probably the one thing that is more amazing here than the Sunset view, is the service from the wonderfully courteous staff. The drinks were served quickly, were well presented and the bar food was great. Had one of the best Chicken Tikkas here. Looking forward to being here again in the monsoons!

Dukes Retreat in Khandala is fantastic ... Didn't realise it till I landed up there!
Khandala is a 2-hour drive from Mumbai and lies in the beautiful, verdant Western Ghats. Go past the second Lonavala exit and drive a short bit more to reach Dukes Retreat. Sprawling and very well maintained, you are at the seating area next to the poolside upon entry and even as you check in, you get a peek of the stunning view of the Ghats.
The Ghats are almost everywhere, when you are at the Retreat. Better still, you like to stay glued to them, their beauty. Rains magnify them. The clouds, the magic they wreathe in the hills, the green blush of the valley upon being touched by the rains – your city parched soul gets its balm. And you itch to loosen the strings that city life tie so tight around you – you itch to play, sing or simply breathe into the crisp air. The more effervescent around you call for barbecue delights, drinks, group singing, and dancing too. As I said, you itch to unrestrain yourself.
Needless to say, the stay at the Dukes Retreat, is reinvigorating. I was there as part of my organisation’s offsite program, along with a team of 25 colleagues. And between short meetings and interesting outdoor team-building sessions, we filled our lungs with fresh air with a vengeance. The rooms have the usual amenities and are well maintained. The air-conditioning is poor though, and you need to keep the windows open.
They have a gym that, weirdly, opens late. And have provisions for games such as badminton, carom, table tennis too. There were 2 other corporate groups, but owing to the Retreat’s size, we didn’t bump into any other soul. Even during meals, there was no rush..
Food at the Dukes Retreat is fairly good. They have a café, called the Panorama Café, and a restaurant, called the Duchess Restaurant. The cafe offers, as the name suggests, a lovely panoramic view of the hills. The best seats are in the open, if the weather permits. The verandah behind the café is actually the best place for panoramic shots of the Ghats. The service at the Café, though, is pathetic. Would recommend you to eat your meals only at the main restaurant, Duchess.
Overall, it was lovely experience at the Dukes Retreat, and I missed my family when there. My wife would have loved the hills and the clouds and my daughter would have squealed at the green snake I saw in the dead of night, and the beautiful rainbow in the morning.
This is one of the best places to enjoy a drink or cup of coffee because of the stunning views this place offers. The location gives a view of the valleys and mountain ranges around. You can spend the entire evening here.Swimming pool and area around it beautifully lit which adds to the romantic ambience. The open air seating adds to the charm of this place

Good location. We had been there for lunch buffet. The spread of food was not much, with only around four options in Non Veg and 7 options in Veg.
Quite expensive but worth the money. Absolutely breathtaking view. Food is good as well.
