My friend and I went for the first edition of Drunch in Hyatt last Saturday! We were very impressed with the setup which ensured maximum safety.
There massive buffet spread was incredible - complete with baked goods, hot soups, sushi and pasta counters and a huge mocktail bar too.
Rates are extremely reasonable for all they offer.

The colony was the last and final five star bar I had to visit in Kochi. Well, it was an amazing experience for me. It’s one of the largest 5 star hotels in kochi. Excellent ambience, was a bit crowded when I went to this place. Excellent service by staff members. Highly recommended. They provide really tasty starters, don’t hesitate to try! The only drawback about this place was that, 500 ml beers was totally out of stock. We had to adjust with the small Budweiser beers. The happy news is, I quit drinking.
Beautiful property. Good food and drinks. Efficient and great staff. If you're willing to drop some serious cash on a good night out, head here. Really relaxed ambience and just over all it was a good experience. Will come back. Wish there were more mid-range restaurants in Kochi offering this kind of ambience, food and service. Until that happens, this is going to be a weekend jaunt for us.
Server Deppanshu was very sweet and polite. He suggested good cocktails and made a feel really comfortable there. Thanks a lot deepanshu, continue the good work.
Praveen was very friendly . Great food and good ambience. It was my birthday. Had fun with friends. Very efficient service by Praveen, was always there to tell us about the dishes and the specials that are available. Great upselling techniques were used.
They gave us a very warm welcome. The staffs were very friendly. Though the food being expensive,it has quantity and taste. They have raw fish kept on a table which is cooked to our wish. I think so they should also have other meat also over there. This restaurant also offers seating outside, which gives a good view.
Had a casual dining experience at the Colony clubhouse a few days back and I really enjoyed it. To start with, I absolutely loved their hospitality and service towards us and would like to mention my gratitude towards our bearer for that day, Mr. Praveen who did a splendid job in serving us and gave us a delightful experience. Even the ambience of the place was very warm and lovely.
Now coming to the food part, We had two plates of grilled tiger prawns for starters and it was just amazing. I just loved the juicy and exquisite flavour it had and I recommend it to all. Then we had the crispy chicken and also the mixed grill plate for mains which were really good dishes as well. The meat were finely cooked and also the side breads were just perfect. I was really happy and satisfied with their cuisine.
Overall we really had a great experience at the Colony and I suggest this place to all those foodies and continental cuisine lovers out there in Kochi.
One of the best in Kochi. Amazing food, great service. The outdoor dining did require a little bit of lighting works, the tables and chairs needed to be a little more spacious and comfy. Apart from that everything is amazingly great especially the indoor dining which has open kitchen and great ambience.
Would have given a 5/5 if i didn't have issues with the outdoor dining.
My recommendation are:
A/W French 65 (Mocktail)
Mixed Grill Ancient Spice Mix (Mains)
Roasted Rack of Mulwara Lamb (Mains)
(Both mains very fresh and tender)
Colony Sundae and Warm Chocolate lava cake from desserts are the best!
The ambiance was so good for our marriage anniversary we loved the place and service by colony club house. We had ordered crispy chicken with rice bowl. The chicken tasted juicy and well crispy on the outer. Also they had provided complimentary chocolate cake which was very very delicious.i would recommend this place if you love the ambiance and love the way you get treated like a special guest.
.. check out the menus before you go and you can ask them for their suggestions they will help you with selection.
Amazing Ambience
We had a great time from last visit in Grand Hyatt. We had an awesome experience from this rooftop restaurant last. And we ordered a seafood and it was so delicious, cooked well. And then we had a meat called mixed grill which was something extremely recommended one.
Thankful to Mr Alwin for the explanation and the suggestions.
We are looking forward to coming back again!
The Colony Clubhouse & Grill is hands down my favorite restaurant in Kochi. They really do have the best food and the best service. I ate the cheeseburger and it was absolutely delicious. Their waiters are incredibly helpful, and super friendly.
I have been frequenting the Grand Hyatt since it’s opening and can positively say, it’s one of my favorite hotels in the world.
We had
1 The Coconut Shell Smoked Duck with Fig Chutney....slow cooked meat (close to 5 hrs) served along side fig chutney was just awesome. Balanced on spices and cooked to perfection.
2 The Tiger Prawns: 6 prawns with 6 different marinates. The winner was the one with the tamarind leaf marinate.
3 Mixed Grill Ancient Spice Mix: This had some chicken, some beef and a lamb sheek kebab.
4 Colony Chunky Vegetable Broth: A soup with drumstick leaves and chironji seeds in it.
Exellent experience in colony yesterday. Good food and beautiful ambience. The staffs are make my kids happy, they give proper service in a hospitality maner.Special thanks to mr.Arun and syam fir giving this wonderful experience to my family. I preferred to my friends
The Food here is Marvelous. Each and Every Dish which I had is delicious. For first I thought, i could not Finish up the whole portion. But the Food was so damn tasty , I could eat up the whole thing . I would suggest Colony, for Lunch .
Time at Colony was an evening well spent. The staff was top draw right from getting us a good spot when we reached there to giving us a tour of the place as we left.
The menu is not that big, probably helps customers to choose quickly. All the food items we tried had a strong distinct taste to it. The freshness of the ingredients could really be felt. The views of Kochi from the deck was quite stunning indeed.
One of the recommendations from my side would be to have a larger side plate that would have helped me to place the cutlery better.
Overall it felt like an international dining experience in Kochi that left us happy and content.
I've never tasted a duck this good! They said the super tenderness of the meat is got through smoking it for close to 5 hrs using Local Coconut Shells instead of regular wood/charcoal briquettes. Right from the ambience to fine details of each dish served, Grand Hyatt's Colony Club House and Grill is full of surprises.
A brilliantly executed concept based on Colonial Cuisine and Sustainable Living. Another favourite of mine when it comes to mocktails. Chefs Signature Tiger Prawns Grill and Mixed Grill Ancient Spice Mix are popular choices.
We went there for my mum's birthday. The food was delicious, loved the crab cakes and the mixed grill. Courteous and friendly service, not to mention the lovely ambience with a gorgeous view from the rooftop. Also, Mr. Arun, the waiter, guided us with the choices and also customized some dishes according to our preferences. To top it all, they even arranged for a birthday cake, which made it all the more special! We will definitely visit again!!
Very nice restaurant indeed. Food was very good but somewhat expensive. I had the onion soup which was ordinary but nice. Risotto was quite special as it had barley mixed in. The mushroom complemented the dish well giving it a slightly crunchy bite.
It was date night and my turn to choose the place. Grand Hyatt Cochin is perhaps the most talked about hotels in Cochin right now and so we decided to give it a try. We had already visited the Thai restaurant (which we loved). So we decided to try "Colony clubhouse & grill" which is the fine dining rooftop restaurant. Colony mainly serves continental and grilled food made of locally sourced fresh ingredients.
Quaint music, candle light and a table with a view...it couldn't get more romantic than this!! The staff was prompt and helpful and knew what went into each dish(not something u see elsewhere). We ordered the following
• Mud Crab cakes: served with cilantro aioli and salad. ⭐⭐⭐⭐
• Grilled Scampi: is basically a bigger prawn and tastes very similar. We ordered two. One with lemon garlic marination and the other in sambal(tamarind) marination. The latter was really good!!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
• Roasted rack of Mulwarra Lamb: this lamb is imported from Australia and roasted to perfection with a rosemary glaze and mustard seed crust. The meat was juicy and tender. And the jus that was served with it complimented the dish.⭐⭐⭐
• saffron butter noodles(side) was very creamy and buttery and not for the faint hearted(literally)😁
.
Overall, Although this restaurant is a little heavy on the pockets, we lovedddd the ambience, the service was exemplary and the food was refreshingly different and fresh. I would definitely recommend this place for a good dinner date!
My verdict:⭐⭐⭐⭐
It was very pleasant. Order for mocktail it was fantastic. And order for crispy chicken, it is finger licking. Nice food and service. Kudos team. Keep it up
Rarely give a 5 star to restaurants in general. Maybe it’s my hometown affinity to be honest. It’s a 5 star for the region for sure. Firstly, lovely views of the city and the harbor. Service was just excellent. Interiors were done top notch and to international standards. Last but not the least, the food was fantastic! We had the Lamb rack which was amazingly well cooked (medium well) and delicious. The sea food is as fresh as it can get as it’s locally sourced . For burger lovers, the beef burger is just out of the world! Loved the clams prep and the salad as well. Can’t wait to get back home and enjoy the food there.
Good food with an absolutely stunning view. Definitely Grand Hyatt quality when it comes to food. A bit heavy on the pockets.
Lets get into the details. I visited Colony Clubhouse & Grill to celebrate our wedding anniversary, so all you look for is good food, romantic ambience, privacy and the expense is not going to be an issue (because you don’t want the nagging from the wife later for taking her to some not good restaurant) 😜
The food was good. Very friendly and courteous staff. And our server, Mr Sudheesh was very helpful in making our choices. He explained to us what each of their foods meant and how they were trying to add some Kerala touch to the colonial western foods. And yes, you could definitely feel that in their dishes.
Initially, they brought us a complimentary Sourdough bread and a dip (the dip was amazing), followed by soups. The seafood soup was not the favourite but the Tellichery onion soup was good and woke up the palates. The starters included Crab Cakes (which was yum) and Oyster Rockfellers (it was our first time having Oysters). Sudheesh advised us to have them raw and we didn’t. Was a different experience and did taste good with the lime and cranberry vinegar. However, I ll never be an oyster fan I guess.
The main course was delicious. That was the highlight of the day. The lambs were cooked to perfection and the sauce was so good. The catch of the day Fish, again recommended to us by the server, along with their special marinade was definitely worth.
The final course, the dessert! Cheesecake and the Lava Chocolate were both amazing. The salted caramel ice-cream was just yummy!
They even made a surprise wedding anniversary cake for us (but I guess most places do that now), which was again tasty but we were so full by then.
Special mention to Mr Sudheesh and Mr Sarath, the duty manager who made us feel comfortable and helped us have a memorable occasion.
Final verdict:
Food - 4.5/5
Ambience - 5/5
Service - 5/5
Do try out the place if you are celebrating any special occasion and you will not regret it!
Great food with great hospitality loved the ambience. Tried their fantasy colony beef burger which was juicy and perfect meal for my diet. All in a great place to try
One of the best rooftop views in kochi.
Loved the ambience, the chefs and staff were friendly and cheerful.
Great fine dining experience in kochi.
Ambience: 5/5 (you won’t find another rooftop like this anywhere in Kochi!)
Service: 5/5 (Dishant was knowledgeable, helpful and professional)
Food: 4/5 (They start you off with fresh sourdough bread, the likes of which I haven’t found anywhere else in India, with smoked olive oil and goat cheese dip. The veggie & haloumi salad we ordered was out of this world, the crabcakes were divine, and the lava cake with sea salt caramel ice cream was fantastic! My friend didn’t love his cauliflower steak but they exchanged it for a goat cheese kebab with no questions asked.)
Overall, a must-visit in Kochi if you enjoy seafood, fresh greens and a good view!
Probably the best view of Kochi. Amazing food fostered in sustainability and local organic produce. Super friendly staff. Amazing ambience. Try the Spinach dumplings with Pumpkin filling. Yum! 😍😍
The view at this place is just amazing. Make sure you sit outside in the terrace area. The food is definitely great, loved the beef burger. It's one of the places you would want to take your loved one on a special occasion, and have a deep pocket too, although it is not ridiculously expensive.
Food with a view ❤️
Awesome! I love everything about this place. The best rooftop restaurant in town. Very friendly staff and yummy food! The view from the restaurant and balcony is really amazing. A must visit place in Kochi. Highly recommended!
I recently attended brunch , and I must say it was an excellent experience. The highlight was the wide variety of cuisines available, with numerous live counters. Moreover, there was literally a room full of desserts, each one better than the other. The service was top-notch. However, if you're expecting some local Kerala cuisines also as part of the brunch, this is not be the place for you, as there will be none! They have a dedicated restaurant named Malabar, which would be your best bet
The food was delicious. We ordered the Kerala Chicken Fry and the Lamb Sausage with Pita Bread. The service was spectacular. Our server, Awai, was kind to give us the fiery cocktail and the shots on the house. Overall, it was a great experience and I would highly recommend you come here to the Grand Hyatt rooftop bar.
A good choice for a romantic dinner in Kochi i(f you are into non veg). The wine list is not great (only indian wines) but they have very good cocktails. The food offer was spot on. We had Oysters & a bone broth rissoto for starters and lamb shank & tenderloin as main course. All very tasty. The desserts were nice though they could have been accompanied by some coulis to make it more moist & more appealing. Overall an enjoyable experience on the terrace overlooking Bolgatty Island
First time trying out their food and I was pleasantly surprised.
Aesthetics and decor: Simply but tastefully decorated. The tables are spread apart so you do get a private feel. The views from up there are amazing, so if you can sit by the glass, go for that!
Service: Great. Very professional staff, quick to attend.
Price: Definitely on the pricier end, especially considering the portion sizes.
Menu and food: The menu is a little limited, especially the appetisers section, but they have a decent variety of vegetarian and non-veg dishes. We tried the following:
For the appetisers we went for the smoked tofu salad, crab cakes and chilled prawns with cocktail sauce.
- the crab cakes were fantastic (about 4 per plate). Probably some of the best crab cakes I've had.
- the smoked tofu and bean sprout salad was pretty stale and disappointing. There was very little actual tofu in there, and the tofu was pretty rubbery and bland to taste. Overall, the salad was very dry. I wouldn't recommend this dish.
- the chilled prawns was a very okay dish. You get about 3 prawns per plate with a side of cocktail sauce. The sauce itself was very mediocre.
For our entrees, we got the colony mushroom pasta, fettuccine with chorizo, seafood linguine and the catch of the day. I only tasted a few of the above and here's my take on them:
- the colony mushroom pasta was really good. The mushrooms were nice and juicy and the pasta was flavoured well.
- fettuccine with chorizo was also good, but I wasn't blown away. It's a decent dish, nothing to write home about.
- the catch of the day was seabass. This was a good portion and tastefully done.
Even though we didn't order full-fledged desserts, we tried a few scoops of their salted caramel ice cream. I'm not a huge fan of salted caramel flavours, but I gotta say - this was really good. Very creamy, with the right amount of caramel and salt.
Overall, a nice night out, beautiful views and good food. However, I didn't think the food was exceptional enough to warrant paying the price tag on each dish, but I guess you're also paying for the name and the view.
Would I go back? Maybe for special occasions and the sort.

We visit the Colony Clubhouse and Grill quite frequently and are left satisfied and happy every single time. Our last visit was no different as the Grilled Sea Bass was exquisite and extremely fresh.
The Roasted Tomato Soup was packed with flavour and the Lamb Risotto was rich and decadent with Al Dente Arborio Rice.
The service was excellent and our waiter, Prince was very helpful, even offering to pay for our drinks.
There is no doubt in my mind that I will be returning to CCAG soon.
I went for the diner the service was top class. I loved time being there. Especially Mithuan and jayant they were so polite and made my time good.
One of the luxurious 5star hotels in kochi is grandhyatt..It has three restaurants ..one of them is colony clubhouse...the most attractive thing is it’s in the rooftop..main cuisines are continental, barbecues & seafood...loved the food...but one thing in particular to note is that if anyone’s going for the same..make sure u like the continental foods and their sauces...
I attended the SUNDAY BRUNCH which started at 11am till 3 pm
It includes a buffet with live counters and complimentary beverages...we can have a nice rooftop dining with vembanad lakefront view.
The rate of buffet is 2222 plus tax per head and that’s around 2500
If u have a Hyatt dining club membership u can save 30% up to 50% off for Sunday brunches.desserts and fruits were very fresh..fresh juices were served unlimited...they were very much guest welcoming....
Nested at the roof top of the grand Hyatt with magnificent view of the sea and the city on the other side.
Ambience and decor is elegant and modern.
Their specialty is seafood. Pick from catch of the day and chef does his magic. 3000rs per kg.
Chicken broth (@rs 350) lovely .
Mud carb cakes @ Rs 650 🤘🏽🤘🏽
Sourdough bread with Himalayan salt yougurt- heavenly . Freshly baked with a crisp outer and soft inner. The smell of freshly baked bread ..🤗
Service is excellent. ⭐️⭐️⭐️Special thanks to Praveen and chef Varun for the lovely evening.
Very expensive, with 18% GST. But worth it
$$$$
I simply couldn't find any flaws with the service nor the food served. I specially thank Diksha and the Chef for making my evening memorable. Just top notch
The view and vibes were immaculate. Loved the food! The variety was amazing and very much appreciated by everyone. Special thank you to Rajender Goud for being extremely attentive and kind to all the guests. He recommended the best desserts to have and ensured we were all well taken care off (about the desserts- all of them were absolutely amazing!)
The live band that played were extremely talented and beautiful to listen to. It really added to the whole experience! Definitely won’t stop singing their praises.
We loved the ambience, the food and the service. The staff were courteous and efficient. Chef Rony's food and cocktails were superb. I will be back.
