A no frills hotel. We loved the Malabari style mutton biriyani and the chicken fry here. The mutton was soft and juicy while the biriyani was flavourful. The place was brimming with locals and a handful of tourists. Service was fast.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Kayees Restaurant , a restaurant located at Mattancherry. When I visited only Chicken Biriyani and Chicken Fry was available. The person who was at the counter was very friendly too. You might have to wait some time in order to get a seat during busy hours. Food:- This was my second time trying Kayees Chicken Biriyani and it did not disappoint me. The only problem was that when I received the biriyani there was no chicken pieces included, and when i had asked about it they quickly came and served me the pieces for the biriyani, also it was a bit hot to sit inside as there was only one fan for two or three big tables. Other than that Kayees was a good experience for me. Cost :- Kayees Chicken Biriyani-₹140/- It is worth for that money. Also keep in mind that they serve with more quantity so if you are a light eater then it would be better to share a biriyani with another person. But it depends from person to person. Parking space is not there and would be difficult to park vehicles.

Best Dum Biriyani in Kochi, Ernakulam. If you want Mutton Biriyani go there before 12.30 noon. Don't expect AC restaurant Ambience. Authentic Mattancherry Biriyani, you will love it. The meat was perfectly cooked, and the rice was delicious. There will serve Lemon pickle, Dates pickle, Pappad, Onion salad and Hot Jeera water with the Biriyani. There is no car parking available, but you can park your car in Mattancherry Palace (parking fee 30Rs). There is only 1km walking distance to Kayees from Mattancherry Palace. You can also travel by Auto Riksha 🛺 It will only cost 30/40 Rs one side.

Famous for authentic mattancherry kayees biriyani. Mutton biriyani from here is a must try one. Little rush during the peak time (around 12:30-2:30)

I recently dined at Kayees Rahmathulla Cafe and was blown away by their chicken biryani. The meat was perfectly cooked, and the rice was delicious. The only challenge was the crowd, and they had just one biryani option to order, so I highly recommend going early to savor this culinary delight!

Service was really quick. They had Chicken and Mutton Biryani served for lunch and we ordered both. It was really tasty with just the right amounts of flavour. The Biryani was served within minutes and left us craving for more. Since the place is not a really fancy restaurant, it tends to get a little hot. But we really enjoyed our lunch here

The actual taste of 'Kayikka's Biriyani' I got from a wedding function. They had ordered kayees biriyani and I was astonished on the first byte on that biriyani. All the taste of spices included in that biriyani was present on that small byte. It was a feel that cannot be expressed. But I never feel it from the hotel. Donno why!! Anyway I felt in love with that biriyani 😍. Another dish I loved is beef roast. Good quantity with mouth watering taste. Less price compare to other hotels. Rush on every time, especially on holidays. Tourists will be the main customers on holidays. Taste 4.2/5 Quality 4.5/5 Service 4.0/5 Ambiance 4.0/5 Pricing 4.0/5 ----------------- Overall 4.2/5

Even since I started dining in and around Kochi, the name 'Kayees' was indeed famous for its delicious biriyani but I couldn't get my hands on it until recently. I went to Fort Kochi for the Biennale last day, and felt the timing was right to have Kayees biriyani. Had Chicken biriyani from there. I must say it was exquisite and one of a kind. I really enjoyed it. The restaurant got an old place vibes. There's also a rush during lunch time.

Old style shop. No parking space, need to manage with nearby roadside. Nothing great in ambience. Crowded on weekends, need to wait for a table. Only mutton biriyani, chicken biriyani and chicken fry were available in a weekend. These items were good, but need more dishes.
