We were here n the last day of our fort kochi vacation. We visited many hotels but guys I suggest you this is one of the best place for tasty food for our budget. And place is near to Santa Cruz Basilica.
Lovely local Indian restaurant. Delicious food, great recommendations, perfect level of service attention. Friendly and generous, I can't recommend this place enough! Freshly prepared, delicious food . This is the ultimate Indian cafe. There's nothing fancy about this place, it's just good honest food at incredibly low prices
It's a nice and small place with home cooked food. It doesn't look promising at first but don't let that fool you, the food is beyond promising and they have the best dosas I've had in all of Kochi.
Had zeroed on another place for breakfast and unfortunately on arrival the place was closed. That's when this small restaurant captured our attention. We were soon attended and orders arrived. The disappointed accompanied with chutney and sambar tasted more like our home made. The tea was hot and refreshing, just like how we would like it. A sumptuous breakfast for two came to Rs.100. We were satisfied and promised to be back soon.
Homely meals!
A little walk from hustle and bustle of Fort Kochi, Uncle s Restaurant is a tiny hole in the wall place. The hostesses run the place from their home. They are well spoken and helpful. Quite a few backpackers and locals frequent this place. Good hygienic place. The local dishes are full of flavors. Do talk to them how you like your spices. Felt good.
Very good, fresh, inexpensive food and nice, hospitable staff. Nice place for rest before and after sighting Fort Cochin. Next door to nice, small hotels, monuments, beach with beautyful wiev on the sea. I recomend heartly.
Great restaurant with delicious food. You can try some best South Indian specialties there. Amazing staff gave us the warmest welcome. Very good value for money. Highly recommended!
"Thanks for making us feel at home"
During our four day stay with my family, we had the opportunity to try Uncle's Restaurant. The hospitality and service very soon made us very comfortable. We never missed our home at least in terms of food. We had a chance to try various lip-smacking delicacies, variety of South Indian dishes, and sea food at reasonable pricing. We enjoyed our stay, Thanks for Uncles Restaurant. I am definately looking forward to making another trip.
Its a must-visit for people visiting Fort Kochi, you will thoroughly enjoy it.
Personal Thanks to Sheeba and Fly!
“Spiciest fish fry of my life”
Visited October 2014
Thanks to zomato, you guys led me all the way to Uncle's restaurant.
The fish fry is tasty and hot. Reached a bit late, around 3 pm, had to wait before we got seated. The Uncle's special fresh squeezed lime soda was served first, which my friend Mr. Sumesh from Angamaly fell in instant love with. The ambiance was gross and seating capacity limited that made our smiles fade a bit. Then came the special fish fry, delicious that costed reasonably. Although the meals were good enough, the fish fry really a good choice us. :))
Prices are reasonable side
We had visited Uncles Restaurant for lunch. Not just a delicious menu to offer, this place can enthrall you with more then what you would expect!, we had soup, appetizers and main course. From surprise desserts to comfortable good hospitality. The food was tasty. Portion were ok. Prices are reasonable side. They had a decent snacks selection as well. It was an enjoyable experience to meet the family at the Uncles Restaurant!. Great !, loved the food crafted by Chef Mrs. Sheeba and her family!!
"NOSTALGIA AND TASTE AT ITS VERY BEST"
If you are looking for variety or comfort, this is the best place for all meals in fort kochi. They have been running for decades and i assume that adds to the pleasure of eating here.
Its a small place, roadside parking. But their menu and the taste is ever fresh, never changes with time and is delicious. The breakfast, lunch and dinner is excellent. The dinner menu is fantastic. Service is extremely quick. We have been there only in the evening but i can imagine a similar mouth watering experience in all times too.....
Thanks Mrs. Sheeba.
My favorite place to eat lunch in Kochi. I really loved the food here, and came back again and again for the meals.
The fish fry, fish curry, and spicy prawns are all delicious. The veg side dishes are just as good, and change every day. If you want to try some affordable, homemade Kerala dishes, this is the place to go.
We had a beautiful lunch of dosa and fish fry with delicious coconut chutney and a dal on the side. Everything was amazingly fresh and cooked to order. The portions are generous and very good value. The dosa were particularly good. The hostess was charming and helpful. Thanks so much, we'll be back again.
The food provided by Uncle's restaurant for a function at our house was excellent. Very tasty without using excess of oil and too much spices. Truly homely flavour. All the guests enjoyed the food. Especially the chicken curry. Highly recommended for functions where the homely taste is a requirement.

Very cool little local restaurant. Nice staff. No menu so ask what they have and for how much. Much cheaper prices than in the tourist area.
2 minutes walk from tourist center.
Excellent clean flavour dosa and wada breakfast.
Will come again tomorrow!
I reached this restaurant when I was craving for a simple vegetarian meal at Fort kochi. A d I got what I needed.
Good food. 👌
Small restaurant in a good area. Food was delivered fast, was nice and the Mauchis were really sweet!
Delicious food and really kind staff!I loved my lunch here!
A really authentic place in the heart of Fort Kochi. Shiva is super welcoming, we quickly became regular guests at Uncle’s. The food is tasty and filling for good price. Highly recommended!
Came in on our last morning in India and it was the perfect place for our last breakfast in the country. We had the egg curry with chapati, cardomom chai and another Kerala sweet - @ a ball made with rice and coconut with a delicious filling. Right in the centre of Fort Kochi. The owner (I think) was very lovely and we would love to come back if we had more time.
Highly recommend for a local and home-style feeling meal
I just ate a lunchtime Thali along with beef curry here in this small but inviting restaurant. I finished off with a Chai.
The food was very tasty, especially the beef curry. The owner (Sheeba) was very kind, friendly and welcoming. We had a nice talk. It is only my 5th day in India and I would suggest to definitely try this place.
A small restaurant with very good prices and good food. The people were super friendly as well. We had breakfast chapati and thali for lunch.
A no-frills place to get your breakfasts done in Fort Kochi (though they do have lunch and dinner options). Had their dosa with egg curry along with a tea and pazham pori and it was fulfilling.
Simple, homely food at a reasonable price. We had lunch as well breakfast the next day. Food is freshly cooked. The owner lady is very cheerful and friendly. Good value for money.
One of the best place for basic homely food in Fort Kochi. The food is healthy, scores high on taste and has great value. Two ladies manage this place really well and make sure the service is on point. Must visit if you're tired of the usual overrated oily food, even otherwise! ::)
