KADA/QUAIL FRY
Is there anyone who loves kada fry??
Hotel Alakapuri, Kakkanad offers one of the best Kaada Fry. It was a tasty and delicious dish. The kada fry was a bit spicy and it is deep fried with wonderful flavor of aromatic spices. The dish was really tasty. The kada was tender and succulent. It was flavorful and delicious. Great combination with chapati appam etc.

Alakapuri is one of the most prominent restaurants in kakkanad area. Mostly the shop is crowded with foodies from all around kochi. And also online deliveries are a lot. But even through all this they provides good meals through the day for every customers. On that sense, I applaud you people for the efforts. Keep up the service..
The happiest moment for a malayalee is when they get to eat: namude swantham, Porotta and Beef!!😍

My fav place who serves flaky porottas and delicious beef roast.
Visited as a guest in the Echo restaurant for lunch just today. We were entertaining friends from California, and enjoyed our ocean side table. We chose to stay indoors - to enjoy the air conditioning 😊. I just want to say that, in addition to a nice meal, we had a delightful waitress, Jackie. She had just the right balance of friendliness and efficiency. She recognized that we wanted time to visit and did not rush us. She and other staff members made certain that we had everything we needed. Kudos!
When in Kakkanad go to place for breakfast. Good service. Consistency of taste is there. Good quantity and quality.
Simply superb!! The quality & taste of the food is breathtaking. The interiors are also nice done and the quantity of food justifies the price tag!
Simple yet a rich kerala cusine restaurant. The food is unbelievably good in a very consistent way. We had appam, puttu and Beef curry. I can say that these are much more tastier than it looks in the photo plus a pocket friendly restaurant. Alakapuri is part of history in kakkanad with the restaurant being atleast 50 years old.
Chicken biriyani and beef fry was of great taste if only they could cater to larger crowd
Looking for a local delicacy this is the place you should be, from veg to beef to porks serving authentic Puttu and curry and a complimentary black tea just completes your meal. The staff is courteous and friendly and service is quite fast .
Again again....One of the best beef biriyani. Beef was perfectly ccoked with pakka masala. Rice also with nice flavor. And also beef roast was so nice with great gravy.
Great food and great ambience.. we had onion rings, fish fingers, paneer Tikka rolls, chicken steak and mojitos.. all were great.. the staff were so happy to assist us in ordering.. enjoyed the food and ambience a lot
I can swear by their egg curry, it’s the most perfect egg curry in he world! To have it with idiyappam is bliss
Great place to have a budget friendly meal. The Kerala parothas were silky smooth and flaky.Dragon chicken was sweet n spicy.Service was fast had an extra family seating area which was air conditioned.
Buy dum rice and chicken roast from there😋😋😋...You must never regret... It's so tasty and it just hot
And alakapuri biriyani, it's too amazing😋
It is one of the best hotels in kakanadu...the foods are really nice...the quantity and taste of food is very nice..pepper beef is one of the tasty dish
What should I say about this place... It is just awesome. For any north indian who wants to have authentic kerla South Indian food. I had puttu and appam with korma curry... It was delicious.
Place might look like simple but service and food was amazing. Most important it was very very very pocket friendly.
The pocket friendly restaurant next to civil station. Tried many dishes from here and everything is pretty tasty and cheaper. You can fill your stomach for 50 rupees. The resto is always crowded and it's hard to get a seat. They have AC section as well but again getting a seat is difficult there too. I mostly order food from here rather than going in. Their packing, quality and quantity is also good with online order.
The only problem I felt with food is, all the curry will have excess oil as you can see in my pics
The one stop shop for foodies on budget! If I should nitpick ..only thing would be portion of the dishes served, but then prices are justifying.. One will never be disappointed with the taste!
Popular and pocket friendly restaurant. You can have a meal there at less than Rs50. They serve a variety of items and everything tastes decent for the price. The place is packed at almost all times but the service is quick. They also have an AC section in case you want to dine in peace.
This place serves one of the best KP and chicken curry and very pocket friendly.
We were four of us and the bill was just 310rs.
Food 4/5
Ambiance 3/5

Pocket friendly 5/5
Your Pocket will Love it and So Will You!!
It's hard to miss the place as it's one that's busier that the terribly busy street that it is on. If you're one for ambience around this side of town, you might as well look elsewhere. If, however, you're looking for good south Indian food at good ol south Indian rates, this is the place for you. The restaurant is always bustling with activity, and unless you're a couple or a group, you'll probably be sharing the table with other equally famished patrons. They do have the AC section, once you make your way through the regular dining area. The section is rather good but only opens in the evenings and then in the mornings on Sundays. If you opt for the regular dining area, please do not expect the waiter to doff the hat, though their service is extremely prompt and efficient too.
Quickly onto the food, the Ghee Roast is a hot seller, and rivals some of the best in town, all at just 30 bucks. The appams, puttu, idyappam and parota are just what you'd expect of a good Kerala restaurant. The egg roast is rather interesting with loads of coconut milk (you are in Kera land after all!) The chicken roast, BDF all taste good and you tend to savor it even more considering the pocket friendly pricing. A welcome surprise is the puri bhaaji, though I'd personally prefer the chana roast with the Puri. On days they also have cutlets that have all the makings of a winner and so does the pazhampori in certain days. Pro tip, if you have a rush at the snacks counter, it probably is one of the days when is extra crisp.
It's just one of the places that you simply cannot go wrong with your food choices, topped up with their kadak chai and kapi.
Once i had puttu and beef roast from this hotel. It was so busy but they provide the food very soon and the food was so delicious. The service is also food
A very good restaurant in Kakkanad. We had breakfast and dinner from this place. Beef fry was really good. A good pocket friendly restaurant. Satisfied with the food we had.
Quality food at affordable price. Authentic Alakapuri taste - Egg curry!.. You will get food before you start looking at just one chat in your mobile..
Love the beef fry from here. Other all foods are okay. But not the biriyani. Biriyani have dissapointed me a little bit . Would suggest alakapuri for the best beef roasts and beef fries. And also a very tasty kappa biriyani. And very reasonable price too.
Adipoli food aanu also ambience is awesome. Good one for family also but the serving team outside A/c room is not good, they are the curse there
Good food at affordable price. I have tried Fish curry, Kozhuva fry and Meals was just so good. Good place for a meal or snack for people working nearby Kakkanad.
One of the best budget hotel in Kakkanad. If you consider the rate and the quantity they are serving, no one can give that much. Service is quick. You can have tasteful and authentic Kerala dishes. Chinese cuisine is okay.
If you want to have a quick food, you can sit outside. If you want some peaceful time, then AC hall is best choice.
My favourite is their Kerala parotta, egg curry, puttu and chicken curry.
In the first place, the food is delicious and tasty, and the location near Kakkanad junction makes it easy to access. Previously, I had tried lunch veg meals and recently tried chappthy with butter chicken. The atmosphere and seating will be difficult because of the rush and there won't be the peace to eat. Parking will also be challenging even though there is a free street parking .
Love to explore good eaterys when I travel. Saw some good reviews of this Resturant through Instagram. Tried and tested. Food is really and truly delicious. Home taste. No fusion style nonsense, absolutely authentic taste. Orderd dinner and also today lunch. loving the simplicity in spices. Definitely must try.

One of the budget friendly restaurants at Kakkanad. Alakapuri offers a wide variety of chicken and Beef dishes to its customers. Biriyani is made of small rice which is very delicious. Finding a seat inside the restaurant is very difficult from around 11.30 to 15.30. There is an A/C hall inside the restaurant which is very useful, especially for those who are with babies. Parking is very difficult. So many bikes are parked in front of the restaurant in an improper way which is very difficult for those who are coming in the car to find a parking space somewhere near . There is St.Francis Church next to this restaurant and you may get a space there to park your car.
I do recommend this restaurant and request the management to appoint a security person to manage the parking area.
Very good food. We eat parotta, bread and egg roast. Everything is delicious and worthy. Egg roast has more gravy for just Rs 40. The only downside from here is the crowd and heat inside the restaurant.
My recent experience at this restaurant had its highs and lows. The atmosphere was notably warm, but the availability of air conditioning provided relief. The food and service were commendable, and the crowd spoke volumes about the place's popularity – likely due to the combination of affordable prices and tasty offerings.
The value for money in terms of the food quality was evident. However, I'd caution against opting for meals during peak hours in the afternoon. The rush during that time can be overwhelming, and servers, understandably under pressure, might exhibit moments of rudeness, affecting the overall dining experience.
One notable drawback is the extended wait times, particularly during peak hours. Securing a table can take anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes, contributing to the bustling but somewhat chaotic ambiance.
In summary, while the restaurant offers great value for money with its affordable and delicious food, it's essential to plan visits carefully to avoid the peak rush times. The availability of air conditioning is a plus, but be prepared for potential delays in seating during busy periods.
Very busy place with good food. I had breakfast from him and I liked it very much, the food was delicious and the service was also good.
Food is better compared to nearby hotels. Heavy crowded. Service time is less. Quantity is also good. Staffs also fine. Atmosphere is not that much great. But fish and few other items are cooked infront of the hotel that not acceptable to everyone it’s road side.
Great food with reasonable rate
Very crowded mostly
Alakapuri is near the Civil Station Kakkanad. We continued the order for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner via Swiggy the last 03 Years. The food is hygienic and tasty. I visited here recently to dine in. This was also a good experience. The staff was very polite and friendly and the atmosphere was simply excellent. If you want tasty food with affordable pricing, here is the good option for you.
This place is highly recommended for a memorable dining experience with your dear ones. All payments options are accepted here.
One of the budget-friendly restaurants in kakkanad.

veg dishes and juices too.
i always prefered to take away.
can park our vehicles roadside near the hotel..
had appam and channa masala and also their meals is neat and good.
had pothichor several times from here.
its cost-effective and a lot in quantity.
We tried appam with chicken roast and butter chicken. Appam was good. Butter chicken flavour was extremely good. Chicken roast was chicken 65 with spcl chicken masala minimal spice with good masala. Idiyappam was not cooked properly it's half backed.
One of the busiest restaurants in kochi.
The consistency they maintain in all these years needs to be highly appreciated. The food is good and pocket friendly too.
One of the oldest, consistent restaurant in Kakkanad, with amazing service people.
Pros- one of the BEST beef roast, good chicken biryani wrapped in banana leaf, really good veg samosa, good meals, average fish fry.
Cons- bad Chinese food. No parking.
Alakapuri Restaurant in Kakkanad is undoubtedly one of the most popular dining spots in Ernakulam, and for good reason. Known for its economic pricing, this restaurant offers a delightful culinary experience without putting a strain on your wallet. The diverse menu caters to various tastes, ensuring there's something for everyone. The inviting ambiance, combined with the affordability, makes Alakapuri a go-to choice for those seeking a satisfying and budget-friendly dining experience in the heart of Kakkanad.
One of the best hotel in kakkanad. Been here multiple times and loved the food.
Good food at reasonable rates.
The place is always crowded and difficult to get a seat. They got A/c dine in as well.
A simple hotel with lots of options at affordable rates.
For people, expecting to relax and eat with ambiance, this may not be the option as this is mostly crowded.
