The fried rice and the BDF (Beef Dry Fry) are clearly the best that I've ever had in a long long time. What's even better? The quantity for it is plenty for the price we pay. I've also tried their Chilli Chicken and Biriyani. They're really good too.

The ambience is refreshing and casual. Service is excellent. Chicken dumplings were tender and flavourful. Dongbei chicken and baby corn were grilled to perfection. It was spicy but slightly sour as well. It was a unique dish. Corn fried rice is for people who hate spice. It was mild . Pad thai was excellent, almost as good as the ones I have had in Bangkok .

Galaxy kakkanad, I have been to this place earlier during my college days.. today while coming back from palarivattom, stopped by for a bite.. we ordered porotta, mutton roast, and beef fry.. the mutton roast was superb with 4 priced of mutton (above average pieces) and beef fry was also great.. the quantity was more than enough for 3-4 people.. the let down was the porotta may be because it was cold.. another let down was the staff the person who took the order was not at all concerned about the order or the food.. the best part about Galaxy is the pricing mutton roast came at Rs.140/- total bill including a tea and a coffee came to RS.285/-.. so in all good food at pocket friendly price...
One of the best places to eat on a budget. Serves one among the best beef fry in ernakulam. Their biriyani is also not bad for the price. Everything is pocket friendly. Only issue is the ambience.
We use to call it our thatukada, a restaurant style thatukada can say that as well. Its a pocket friendly yet a healthy food plce in this vazhakala area and as am a biryani fan i have tried there biryani and it is really good๐ค

Even though a small place. I love the foods from there. Their chicken fry , beef fry, beef roast, puttu and channa masala are awesome. The price is also reasonable. It always crowded at night time but they try to deliver the foods at time. There is also a family section on top floor.

First of all its a roadside (needless to say besides one of the busiest roads in Cochin) so don't expect a decent parking.
About the food, the fried items and ghee rice and CB are the best here rest of the menu may depend on the chef availability. Somedays you get really tasty curry items somedays they make you regret the idea.
Galaxy beef is love. Galaxy beef is life. Saturday night get togethers would not be complete without sourcing food for Touchings from here. I really like parottas from here as well. When we go past Galaxy in the evenings, there's no way you can keep going with stopping and getting a parcel.

It's an average and inexpensive place. If you want your food to go or have a quick meal this is place you can go if you're in the proximity. Service is quick. As it's an average hotel there is not much to comment on ambience but the staff is good in behaviour.
Always have a take away from here when am in ma hometown and this restaurant just provide you with mouth watering dishes at reasonable price.They do provide special snacks during Ramadan time.Normally I go for porotta and beef fry from here.This place will be crowded all the time and so never tried dine in at this place. Probably the best food we got in this locality.. rates are too reasonable to believe.. restaurant is a small one as seem in the pictures but you can expect some really good food. Chicken afghani and chicken roast recommended
A normal hotel out there with tasty kerala food!! Go there for the food and not anything else ! The kerala parotta and beef dishes is the one to have here !! So tasty and pocket friendly !! Must visit for all parotta and beef lovers :)
The beef sukka, porotta and chicken fry/65 is deadly over here. Been a regular for ever since I remember. It's a no frills place. But nevertheless legendary for just their beef sukka ( am I spelling it correctly?). Even their beef fry, beef roast, chilly chicken are good. But beef sukka. That's their highlight.
Also don't judge a book by it's cover.
If you're a healthy eater, never go anywhere near to this place. This is the place for budget eating with taste. Never mind the extra dose of soya sauce or cooking oil - Beef Chilly Fry tastes awesome. Perfect combination for one of the best kerala porottas you find in Kochi. Beef Roast was just ok.
Tips : This is not a place for "Fine Dining". So don't complain about ambiance.
No Car Parking in front. But you have ample space on the other side of the road.

Visited Galaxy for dinner with my friend... It was during the peak time around 9- 9.30 pm ... The place was crowded and almost all tables were full we had to wait for a seat... They had a wide variety menu with alot of items... Ordered Porotta , Chilli Chicken and Chicken fry... The Chilli Chicken was good and tasty and the Chicken Fry was also tasty... The highlight was the quantity of the dish and its pricing, Chilli Chicken was priced at about 85rs I think so, and even both of us together couldnt finish it fully... Eventhough there was alot of customers, the service was well and good and the staff were also polite and attentive... A must visit fast food outlet in Kochi with a wide variety of items to choose from and also with one of the most reasonable and pocket-friendly pricing in the town...

This is one of the best restaurants i have ever been to. Good food, reasonable price and great service. One common ingredient that you would find in almost all fried food their is cumin seeds. Comparatively food is cheaper here. And stomach friendly. Wait time is very less.

This is my place on a month end budget.i have never seen this place with empty seats.But they have enough staffs and space to accommodate everyone. Their parotta (I highly doubt whether a parotta can get any more fluffier.), afgani chicken and biriyanis are a must try.
The relationship with this place goes back many many a years. Used to be quite a regular during the years 2003-07, but then never went back there until recently which was quite accidental. What surprised me was the crowd here and there's no change to that - this place is quite crowded almost all the times. Back in those days, we used to order and wait quite a long long time for takeaways, dont know about that now, but definitely there were a lot of people around. I could see that the porottas and beef varients were still the popular ones and ordered the BDF and beef roast with porrottas for 2 of us. Both of it were pretty ordinary, though the porottas were really fluffy and soft. Though this place wouldn't rank high on the taste index, will still be a safe bet around Vazhakkala area for some decent staple food of the Mallus - Porotta...:-)
Really good biriyani here at a lower cost base. Worth a try for biriyani lovers. Basically they provide every good. Can't expect great quality, but worth the money for sure. Small restaurant, basically I buy parcels so no worries about the ambience.
Went out for dinner with friends.I had beef and porotta and a sharjah shake.It was absolutely yummy.No wonder this place is famous.Beef was one of the best i have had in a while. The pricing is insanely cheap.But the place is not that clean.Highly recommended !!!
Mark my words, the best budget hotel in Kakkanad. Being a parent of two toddlers, I mostly get takeaways.
Upside: Chicken Biriyani (ask for CB box if takeaway). Beef roast, beef sukka (beef dry fry)
Downside: Parking.

Cheap. Good food. Always see people outside waiting to get inside to have food. The most cheapest hotels around Kakkanad. The car parking facility is poor but doesn't matter when good food is been served.

It's been a long time since I've had any food from the Galaxy Restaurant, Kakkanad. I had chicken Biryani and the Travancore chicken fry from here and it was delicious. It was takeout, and the Biryani cost us 140 rupees per head, and the Travancore chicken was 150 rupees per portion. The quantity was more than sufficient and was neatly packed. Parking space is limited, and can accommodate a maximum number of three cars, not sure if they have a parking space somewhere nearby.
I had one of the best chicken biriyani on the town from here. This is there renovated building. Pickles and salad with biriyani is okay. Really satisfied with their food. Also ordered a lime juice which is also helps to give good completion after the biriyani.
Excellent food, went there for lunch and had meal, the price is okay (60rs on 20 sep 2023). Ample parking available, underground parking. Ample seating nearly 20 tables, seperate family seating.
Good food tbh, they serve fillings even before asking. No hesitations at all.
But there will be so many people there for food at lunch time, so get there early for lunch you would end up waiting for someone to get up get seated.

One of the famous restaurants in this area for porrota and beef, but i just had cutlet and samosa and lime juice, Samosa was average not so good.
If you're low on budget, order a Chapati set and Egg Curry, best bang for the buck. You can ask for extra gravy and they'll give.Egg masala is nice too. The chicken roast is excellent!

Good food. Area is a bit congested due to heavy traffic. Parking is not a big problem as they have space in the basement.
Food is above average. I tried chicken -65, Al-faham, Biriyani, Appam and Chicken curry. Couldn't find nd any negatives in the taste or quality. Tea was also good.
Only suggestion is about the cleanliness and the atmosphere inside the restaurant. That needs to be improved.
