Good place. Family friendly. The chicken biryani and beef biryani are the best sellers here. Recently tastes have been going down on these two items. But still ok though.
Taste is mind boggling-Ly consistent for anyone who is seeking malabar food in Ernakulam
Very bad experience in food from malabar plaza . Not Hygiene food. And the hotel is not hygiene. . Please let this not happen to anyone else.
They may not the best but if its the end of the month n you have got friends in for dinner just order the food from here. They have really got the combination of spicy food with the quantity n quality all together.
Anyhow i am not a bug fan of their biriyani.
But they have pretty good chicken dishes in their menu.
I heard from a friend that they prepare food similar to malabar style(heard abt biriyani). And i tried there biryani. It was okeeey. π.But wen it comes to price they are on lil higher side ..as compared to other local hotels. they put only very few chicken pieces(quantity was less) ..and...there interior was poor . And what i find spcl abt this hotel is that they hav MEAT SAMOSA( yummy and affordable) and they have varietys of other dishes. But i havent tried any of them.... Wen it comes to biryani (jus average) and meat samosa ( was hot and good) . Havent tried any of there other dishes .π
Food:3.5/5 (okeey)
ambience:2/5( below avg)
price:2/5(lil bit on higher side)
overal:* 4.7/10*
Giv a try thats all.
Food is very good here. Parking space is very limited. Chicken biriyani and other chicken and beef dishes are super. The fish curry along with fish curry meals is not that good. Tasted couple of other chicken dishes and was fine. There used to be varieties of snacks available during Ramzan. Parcel service is good and are nicely packed. Affordable.
It's just a cost effective non veg eat out. No fancy set up, service extraordinaire or great table arrangements. Just spicy local kerala food. I like their parotta and beef fry. The people who serve there are all from North India who do not have a clue about local cuisine. If you know what to eat, go there.
The ambiece is good. Seating ain't bad either.I had a chicken biriyani from here. I found it to be good but the salad was bad.Best part about this place is their service. Full marks for that.
Being a resident of this area, Malabar plaza is just a phone call away for me. And I make that call very often every time I'm home to satisfy those biriyani cravings. I havnt really dined in here, it's always takeaway. Located right in the heart of vazhakala, this hotel serves some of the best and cheap biriyanis. I havnt tried anything else from here except the biriyani.
The quantity is massive, with huge portions of chicken. If you're a small eater this could easily be shared by two. However people like me one of it is just good. The prices are very reasonable at around 140/- which is good value for money, considering their quantity. If you're looking for cheap and good biryani this is the place to call!
Good place to dine. The food is delicious and rightly priced. You got to try out their Arabian Chicken. It's something I loved and it tingles right at your taste buds. I would surely recommend everyone to try this place out. Staffs and service is good and cleanness is well maintained.
Dined in for lunch one afternoon. Ordered Mixed Noodles and Chicken Biriyani. Both were good. And reasonably priced. Quantity quite enough too.
Next time, went there at 9 in the evening and asked them if they'd deliver at home if I gave them the order at hand. They were more than willing. Asked for an American Chopsuey. Paid up at the counter and left. Sure enough, 20 minutes later, the guy is at my doorstep. The gravy was good, quantity loads, Chicken pieces abundant. The only sad part being they dint get the noodles right. It was fried something, not Noodles, that I'm sure. 170 bucks. Not too bad.
A number of Items on display at the restaurant , need to try them next time.
Very good place to have proper malabar style food. Their chicken biryani is my favourite. They also have good pathiris and fish molly and chicken/beef kothu porotta.
Just stopped for a lazy dinner on a lazy day.
Was just looking at the menu for really long time without being able to decide what to order.
At last ordered the very basic porotta and two different side dishes.
When the food came it really surprised me.
The porotta was really fresh and hot and the side dishes just swept my feet off as I never expected it to be that good.
Beef roast and chicken chettinad were the two side dishes.
The chicken chettinad was really a feast. Those who love spicy food will love it.
I guess the key to having a good meal in places like this is to order right. Stick to the very basic and absolutely don't try to experiment by ordering variety.
I went for the most basic and the most loved Kerala porotta and beef roast, something which can be compared to a burger to an American is this for us malayalis. Quick service, hot porottas, basic spicy good beef they nailed it! So I guess we should know what to order where.
Overall:
Pros: Good service, decent tasty food
Cons: Overpriced , we can have the same thing for cheaper rates at various places in the city so why this place is a very big Q.
Following up that point parking is a big issue, hardly can find space for parking until you are a rider.
Only reason to go there would be cos you are in vazhakalla and just lazy to drive for basic dinner this place might serve you a decent meal if you know what to order (stick to biriyani, ghee rice, porotta n majorly Kerala favs) might help you have a good meal.
Last time I tried chicken biriyani.. And was not up to mark.. Was bad really.. They have good ambiance but the quality off food is bad compared to other near by restaurants..
This is your authentic, in-budget, go-to restaurant for Malabar food. And yet, they have the most amazing chilly chicken I have ever had. Pair it with Pathiri and you have yourself a winner! However, they don't serve Sulaimani or such hot beverages. Now, that's a turn-off.
Well if you are in the area ..you should try this place out....the keralite food is good....chicken fry....chicken 65 ...mutton fry ..and biryani is a must try

Was in search of a restaurant yesterday as most of them were closed due to some strike. Finally me along with my colleagues found this one open and checked into this place.
We ordered chicken biriyani, the item which everyone orders when you don't know what to order.
Quantity of biriyani was pretty good. I found it a little heavily after the lunch, may be because of the use of ghee in a little more than sufficient quantity.
Taste wise it was good. Will I visit this place again? Of course!! I would . also ordered a lime which also was pretty good.
The price of the biriyani was 140, which is a reasonable rate these days considering the quantity.
Although the food is good, the quantity of the 'naadan' dishes, especially the seafood items, is pretty less when u look at the price. But taste wise, no complaints. Don't waste time on the north indian items though - just focus on the local cuisine and the specials of the day. The al faham and shawai are too spicy and at times u get the raw masala taste. Worth an occasional visit - not a place to frequent.
Good food but service is bit downside
Quality assured and tasty food, and a wide space inside. Table arrangements are nice providing privacy in that public space.
Perhaps we get a feel it's costlier while entering the hotel but surprisingly rates are normal to other small hotels with great quality. Great ambience there can be considered as a bonus or added advantage.
Always approach this hotel for snacks since the price is reasonable and taste is assured.
It is one of the old restaurant in the location. Recently the hotel got renovation and made a good ambience. In addition to the restaurant, which also provide lodging with Oyo standard.
It is having a small hall which can be used for gatherings and meetings of small groups in the range of 200 or so. Sound system is to be arranged from outside.
Sometimes the restaurant gives combos which is not allowed to take as parcel. But the same is worth for money spent.
Accept all types of card payments.
Good food. I bought snacks during Ramzan season, all were good. Ambiance is not that good. But the food taste is really really good. Ramzan season the sale happening at this restaurant, you should see that. We will have to wait in queue to order.
It was a good experience. I saw a board infront of there shop stating there is a combo offer 99 rupees (ghee rice+chicken curry+lemon juice) . I found it interesting and ordered for the combo pack.even though the quantity was lesser, Ghee rice and chicken curry was enough for a normal man and taste was good. But when they served lemon juice in smaller and thinner glass (i reccomend that glasses to serve ayurvedic medicines, it was that smaller) i felt really bad. Still it was value for money and better they exclude lemon juice from the combo. Otherwise the customers may think that they are making fun of them.

I tried their porotta and beef dry fry it's good but not the best. I felt the beef could be a bit more crispy.
Ordered biriyani, veg noodles with veg Manchurian and chicken fried rice. Chicken biriyani was yummy. And noodles and manchurian was ok ok...and fried rice was also good... Ambience was good.. Took a little wait time and value for money
