A place which I have been visiting for almost 20 years now. I make an effort to dine here everytime I am in Kolkata as I love the food and also because of the beautiful memories associated with this place. Their continental food is excellent and my favourites are the fish fingers, devilled crabs, prawn cocktail, tetrazini, cordon bleu and stroganoff. They have also started to serve Chinese which replaced their Indian menu (miss the mutton sheek kebab which were awesome) but haven't got to try it yet. The service is pretty decent and the main staff is still intact which is so good to see. They have also redone their decor which I liked. Only reason for the 4 stars is their cocktail (ordered whiskey sour) aren't good so next time will stick to just beer 😉 Highly recommended if you are craving for continental food in the city's most famous area which is Park Street.

We have been visiting this place since it's inception. We were just out of college and had started our career. Spent many an afternoon and evening, enjoying the relaxed ambience, extraordinary food and exceptional service. Our last dinner before our wedding was also here, so we have too many fond memories of this place. The most remarkable thing is that over more than two decades, their menu remains almost the same, with just a few additions here and there and the quality, oh the quality! Exactly what it was when it had opened it's doors. Never have I tasted any substandard item in this place. I even asked them how do they manage to maintain such standards and their reply was, "we are one step up, so we are always one step ahead"

One step up the name speaks a lot. It's in Park Street a prominent one for Continental menu. It's a cosy restaurant. It will never upset you and will make your mood. It's always the same they have kept their quality and service the same from the beginning. The Atmosphere is just too good. They have low dim light and a very cozy seating arrangement. They have continental food as well as Chinese food. The best part is that they have a bar. They always have a seat so you don't have to wait outside for the food to get seated.. The waiters and everyone are very helpful they just give their best to you. The food is just awesome. I'm always there continental food fan. Hope you get the best. Please be as you are. Love you always.

One of the best continental restaurant in Kolkata. Located at the heart of the city the restaurant offers best when it comes to continental food. Must haves include seafood chowder; the best starter for both 3 or 5 course meal.

Location wise very nice. Varieties of testy food. Loads of soft and hard drinks options are available. If you are in search of a pocket friendly yet proper continental restaurant, this should be your stop. Extremely high standard of cuisine, coupled with great restaurant atmosphere. The staffs are very courteous and always ready to help you with the choice of food. Will definitely visit again.

After many years I happened to come this place once again and discovered the theme has changed into orange while when I came years back it was green. The restaurant is moderately spaced with ground and 1st floor. The table for 2 is quite small so you need to shift to table for 4 for sure. The ambience decor and music is jazzy and mild. The place is moderately crowded during daytime aswell. The food menu contains good combination of continental and chinese options. The vegetable lasagna here is quite tasty. It's is made with many exotics vegetables spinach cottage cheese and thick layer of cheese. Though you need to order the Garlic toast separately. The starters are also good in taste. Prices are bit on higher side. Portion size is good enough for 2 people. The service and waiter management could have been better though as during peak time it becomes difficult to get hold of one. They should get more waiters. Also they don't serve mouth freshers after meals which was quite unusual. The washroom is very clean and well maintained. If you just wanna taste good continental food this is surely the place you want to try out.

Quant place amidst the glam of Park Street. The food is lipsmacking and has maintained the same quality for ages. The price tag is a bit on the higher side but the food quality, service and ambience makes it worth. Perfect place to have simple continental food in Park Street. Recommended for all.

Absolutely loved the aerviceon Oshtomi Night, we had a big gang and the service was great. The quality of the food tends to be degraded during Durga Puja however this place has been good. We ordered a variety and each and every dish was properly made. Be it Chinese, Khao Suey, Fish Meunière or the Mixed Grill Platter - we loved the food. The manager suggested us to order Bacon-wrapped prawns and it was simply brilliant.

Great food and service. Yes, sometimes there’s a queue outside but that’s only because the food is always so good. Service is quick so you never have to wait too long. Among my favourites is the Khao Suey and chicken tetrazzini. Yes same owners are mocambo, bar b q etc but they do have their own specialties as well.

Great place, great food, and very good quantity. My favourite place hands down for continental, although they do serve North Indian, Chinese, Thai as well. My picks would be Chicken Tetrazzini and Khowsuey; the former a very cheesy dish - recommended if you are a cheese lover. There are other dishes too all of which are excellent, but these two make me come back each and every time.

Wanted to go to Mocambo but it was too crowded, so settled for One Step Up. Got a table immediately, no waiting. Menu was comparable to Mocambo. Ordered "Devilled Crab", Prawn Thermidor and Chicken Cordon Bleu. Food was good. The bill was less than 1500/-.
