Buffets felt like a long-lost cause since the pandemic hit the world. Everything came to halt. Food lovers like me, and of course you must have wondered, what would happen of those Unlimited Buffet Brunches where you could just savour delightful dishes, all you want with your near and dear ones. With Maximum Safety and Hygiene, Fern Residency has opened doors for it's guests at its restaurant XII Zodiac, with a lavish Weekend Brunch Buffet. I would also like to thank #Am2PmFood and #PanchPhoron for the invite to be a part of the Brunch menu launch.Safety Comes First! Hence, to highlight the safety measures taken by the Hotel and Restaurant: Temperature check and hand sanitisation upon entering the hotel; Followed by installing touch free hand sanitisers at entrance of restaurant. The menu is contactless and can be accessed via a QR code. The restaurant has rearranged the seating keeping social distancing norms in mind. Apart from this, the staff is always wearing hair caps, masks and gloves and sanitize at regular intervals. I personally felt that it was safe to dine in. Now, coming to the food: The menu was quite elaborate and Versatile to ensure all the different cravings of people are satiated. Welcome Drinks: Butter Milk & Virgin MojitoBoth quite refreshing and works as a nice palate cleanser to start off the meal. The buttermilk was light and frothy, which I liked a lot and was served in small shot glasses to ensure that you do not fill up on the drink but enough to serve the purpose.Soup: Manchow Soup (Veg and Non-Veg selections)Juicy and tender chunks of chicken, along with crispy fried noodles in a sweet, sour and spicy soup, absolutely lipsmacking.Salad: Green Salad, Curd, Raita, Pasta Salad, Papri Chaat, Mexican Beans SaladI tried the Pasta salad which had a creamy mayo dressing along with dried herbs and crunchy diced vegetables.Appetizers: Corn Salt & Pepper, Cheese Ball, Fish Roll, Chicken TikkaI tasted all the Appetizers of which, the one I liked the most was Fish rolls- Tender fish filet was rolled along with cheese and herbs and crumb fried, served with a red chilli sauce; and cheese balls- Crispy coated balls deep fried with an oozy cheesy centre, served with a lip-smacking tangy salsa. I would highly recommend to try this gravy.Kesel Muwa Curry: This flavourful curry made using Sri Lankan banana flower had a beautiful flavour of turmeric and coconut milk, along with perfectly cooked kesel muwa, which tends to turn black if not cooked perfectly.
